It looks like a “peaceful” Muslim who had just been fired from a food processing plant in Oklahoma decided to try to convert some former co-workers, resulting in workplace violence. I guess they weren’t interested, so he killed one, beheaded her, and injured the other. He probably would have continued his knife rampage, but the boss intervened and shot him. He survived the gunshots, but as soon as he recovers in the hospital, he’ll be arrested on murder charges. The Blaze reported:
OKLAHOMA CITY (TheBlaze/AP) — The fired employee who beheaded a woman with a knife and stabbed another person at an Oklahoma food processing plant on Friday likely would have hurt more people if it weren’t for the company’s heroic — and armed — chief operating officer, who shot and neutralized the suspect before police arrived.
Immediately after being fired, Nolen reportedly drove to the entrance of the business and started attacking co-workers at random. He allegedly beheaded 54-year-old Colleen Hufford and stabbed Traci Johnson, 43, several times before he was shot and stopped by Mark Vaughan, a reserve sheriff’s deputy and the company’s chief operating officer.
“This was not going to stop if he didn’t stop it. It could have gotten a lot worse,” [Moore Police Sgt.] Lewis said. “The threat had already stopped once we arrived.”
Isn’t that usually the way these things pan out? Assuming there’s a person there with a gun who can take out the criminal. The police show up after the fact, and if there was a person with a gun, like in this case, there’s not as much of a mess to clean up. If that had been a gun-free zone, there likely would have been more beheadings, and at least more murders.
