The Placenta and the Abortion Question

A recent article in the New York Times underscores the very small amount of information doctors and researchers have about the mysterious placenta—the organ that grows out of a new embryo and immediately starts siphoning nutrients out of a new mother’s blood. The article is quite fascinating, but it brings up some very important questions concerning abortion. The human placenta is apparently very aggressive—one researcher likened it to cancer. “Parasite” was also thrown out to describe Read more […]

Your Birth Control is None of Hobby Lobby’s Business

From the way most critics are talking about it, the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby was a chauvinist attack on female reproductive rights by five old white Catholic men. I don’t think the Hobby Lobby ruling had much at all to do with women’s rights, however. The main questions of the Hobby Lobby case were this: May a corporation exercise the same religious freedoms as an individual? If so, is a taxable (for-profit) corporation allowed to exempt itself from a unilateral mandate Read more […]

Forty-One Year Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the landmark decision in the Supreme Court that legalized the murder of unborn babies. It’s Roe v. Wade’s birthday. Although I think it would be perverse to call it that, since Roe v. Wade has as its sole purpose the revocation of birthdays. Since 1973, fifty-seven million unborn babies have been “aborted” in the U.S. That’s fifty-seven million human possibilities dumped into the trash bin. Is Roe v. Wade something to rejoice over? Some people think so. Read more […]

Bro-Choice “Men”: Abortions Mean More Casual Sex

Bro-Choice advocates. They’re “men” who support abortion. (Clever.) And their reasons for supporting abortion? Well, once you cut through all the fake-sounding rubbish about caring about women’s rights, bro-choice frat boys just want to keep having casual and consequenceless sex with women whom they will treat as little more than disposable sex objects for transitory gratification. I was surprised to see a rather candid admission of this in a recent “Bro-Choice” article in the Burnt Read more […]

Obama Administration Looks The Other Way When Iran Excludes Women From Political Office

Lucius Annaeus Seneca said: “All cruelty springs from weakness.” Weakness is defined in many ways: an unwillingness to perform necessary duties in times of crisis; fear for one’s self preventing one from doing what is right; and betrayal of one’s own convictions when faced with a challenge. These are all signs of weakness. Our political world is full of weakness; politicians who are so afraid of losing their jobs that they will do and say anything to keep it; even when it violates their own Read more […]

Biden Opens Mouth and Inserts Foot

As many times as Vice President Joe Biden puts his foot in his mouth, I’m not sure if he needs a dentist or a podiatrist to take care of his teeth.  If there is a poster person for the greatest number of dumb political statements, Biden has to be it. Black Americans have been fighting a civil rights war for over a century on the issue of race.  There are still a significant number of white Americans that look down on anyone with a different skin color than their own.  In fact, a number of Read more […]
