Dem Senator: If we had as Many Flu Deaths as Gun Deaths, “This Nation Would be up in Arms”

Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal from Connecticut said that if we experienced as many deaths from illnesses as we do from guns, “this nation would be up in arms.” For an anti-gun zealot, the phrase “up in arms” is a little ironic. Maybe it was intentional. He’s referring to the 30,000 people who die every year in incidents involving guns. Of course, that figure is comprehensive. It includes suicides and even self-defense cases. Here’s what he said: “If 30,000 people in the United Read more […]

As Usual, the Jobs Report isn’t as Great as Everyone’s Saying it Is

Let’s do a reality check on the jobs report. And by everyone, I mean liberal economists, Democrat cheerleaders, and investors who have a vested interest in making everyone think the economy is booming like crazy so that their investments bloat a little from the artificial optimism. Naturally, their voices are going to be the loudest. If you’re like most Americans, and you’re not one of the cheerleaders mentioned above, then the jobs report is nothing to write home about. While the headlines Read more […]

Gun Violence Plummets, But You’d Never Know it From Listening to Politicians and the Media

Liberal politicians and talking heads like (former host) Piers Morgan ask the same sanctimonious question after a media-publicized shooting. “How many more have to die in order for us to do something about gun violence?” What they won’t tell you of course is that “gun violence” has been going down for decades. The media might be reporting on incidents of gun violence a lot more than they ever have, but in reality, there have been far fewer occurrences in recent years of homicides involving Read more […]

Obama and The Myth of The Wage Gap

“Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” – Marcus Aurelius Politics is a game of perspectives. You can have all the facts and all the analysis on your side, but if the opposition puts just the right spin on the situation, you’re screwed. If we were a nation who took time to observe the facts, and seek the truth, conservatism would be just fine. However, we are a nation of sound bites and Daily Show watchers. We have no desire to do our own Read more […]

Gun-Related Homicides Down 39% Over The Last 20 Years

The average news media viewer and listener might have the impression that incidents of “gun violence” are on the rise because the media’s always talking about them. In reality, firearm-related homicides have been down 39% since 1993. Breitbart’s AWR Hawkins wrote: A DOJ Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) “special report” shows that “firearm-related” homicides fell by 39 percent between 1993 and 2011. It also showed that violent crime–or “nonfatal firearm-related violent victimization Read more […]

More Kids Die From Water And Fire-Related Accidents Than From Guns

Recently, I wrote about ABC News doing an experiment showing that kids are drawn to firearms. The premise of the “experiment” was a study done by Yale University, which found that one American child every hour is hospitalized due to gunshot wounds. Their little experiment attempted to show why so many kids are victims of unintentional “gun violence.” But what they won’t tell you is how many kids are injured or killed by other means. Writing for Breitbart, AWR Hawkins wrote: According Read more […]

Obama Pays “Non-Partisan” Group To Promote Obamacare

Non-partisan: the Democrat’s favorite word. Every time I’ve ever gotten into an argument with a Democrat—be it about social issues or economic—they have brought up statistics which they claim to have gotten from a “non-partisan” organization. They immediately cast aside any evidence I bring to the table, claiming that it’s biased or partisan, no matter where it came from. But anything a Democrat uses is pure and free from the taint of partisanship. Aside from the fact that bias doesn’t determine Read more […]

Obama’s Faked Unemployment Numbers

“Freedom isn’t free. It shouldn’t be a bragging point that ‘Oh, I don’t get involved in politics,’ as if that makes someone cleaner. No, that makes you derelict of duty in a republic. Liars and panderers in government would have a much harder time of it if so many people didn’t insist on their right to remain ignorant and blindly agreeable.” – Bill Maher As much as I dislike Bill Maher, he sometimes makes some salient points. As people living in a republic, we are all representatives of that republic. Read more […]

New Report: UK Crime Statistics Fudged to Justify Gun Ban

How many times have we heard Piers Morgan rant and rave about crime rates in his home country? He claims gun violence is virtually nonexistent thanks to the Brits doing the “responsible” thing and taking everyone’s guns away in 1997. Sure, there was an acknowledged, initial spike in crime shortly thereafter, but then it began to fall and has since plummeted. Or so they say. According to a new report published by and authored by Dr. Paul Gallant, Dr. Joanne Eisen, Alan J. Chwick Read more […]
