Culturally Insensitive: Clemson University Students Offended by Mexican Food

#CUlturallyInsensitive For several years students at Clemson University enjoyed culturally themed food in their dining hall. They’ve offered every type of ethnic dishes –Italian, Southern BBQ, Asian. A favorite was “Maximum Mexican” night. Servers wore sombreros and served traditional Mexican cuisine. Everyone loved it, except a couple students who were deeply offended by the racial stereotyping and who felt the event was “culturally insensitive.” One student voiced on Twitter, “Our Read more […]

The Stupidity of the Confederate Flag Debate

What is a flag? It’s a rectangular piece of fabric emblazoned with a specific design that represents something. The American flag is an important piece of our history, as is the confederate flag. However, historical relevance can’t always justify something’s existence in modern society. If Germany still paraded around the nazi flag, it may be historically relevant, but not such a smart idea. The point is, there is a legitimate debate to be had regarding the confederate flag on the Capitol grounds Read more […]

NBC to South Carolina Governor: Time to Rethink the 2nd Amendment?

It makes no sense that people would even suggest that the 2nd Amendment has to do with enabling murderers to commit evil acts. Then again, we’re talking about liberals here. They’re always trying to find something else to blame criminal acts on rather than the criminals themselves. Their solutions always involve taking away people’s freedoms. In the case of Dylan Roof’s murderous acts, some people are suggesting that we further restrict the 2nd Amendment. As if people like Dylan Roof would Read more […]

FBI Investigates South Carolina Killer Cop for Civil Rights Violations

It was big news the other day when authorities released the dash cam footage showing the initial traffic stop that ended with four bullets in Walter Scott’s back. What we don’t have and probably won’t ever have is what happened in between the traffic stop and where the bystander video began. The dash cam footage gives us a bigger picture of what happened, but it still doesn’t make the cop’s case any better. Authorities think that Scott may have bolted because there was a warrant Read more […]

South Carolina Bill Would Mandate Gun Safety Classes in Schools

If one South Carolina legislator gets his way, students would have to take gun safety classes as well as learn about the 2nd Amendment. State Representative Alan Clemmons introduced the bill in the House. He was inspired by an incident that happened where some kid got arrested at school for writing a story about how he was going to get a gun and shoot his neighbor’s pet dinosaur. He got arrested for that. Clemmons thinks that instead of schools trying unrealistically to ban the concept of “gun” Read more […]

Three Shot to Death in Myrtle Beach; Major Media Ignores

If you recall, there were three shot to death by that “progressive” and white-privileged rich kid in Santa Barbara; four, if you include the kid’s suicide. That got all the attention. It predictably renewed politically opportunistic calls for gun control. The victims’ families predictably blamed “lax gun laws” and the NRA as if they were reading from a script; and they blamed those “extremist right-wing” politicians who are “bought and paid for” by the NRA. (Like Harry Reid?) But Read more […]

South Carolina Poised to Nullify Obamacare

South Carolina’s got an Obamacare nullification bill that’s about to be voted on in the State Senate next month. It passed the State House easily, and it’s expected to be signed by the state’s Governor Nikki Haley, assuming it passes the State Senate. According to CNS News, the legislation would “prohibit all state agencies, public officials and state employees from implementing the federal health care law.” Further, according to CNS News: The bill would forbid state employees Read more […]

Four Reasons to Fire Lindsey Graham

As the newest possible scandal of the Obama administration begins breaking across the wire, Senator Lindsey Graham, a man who should be one of the President’s chief opponents, continues to cause problems for Republicans. The good people of South Carolina can generally be trusted to select representatives who will work hard to see that conservative values are championed in a circumspect manner. (There are of course missteps – see Mark Sanford.)  However, for some reason they continue to return Read more […]

Nikki Haley Raises Liberal Tempers; Proving She Is A Great Governor

Gustavo Flaubert said: “The better a work is, the more it attracts criticism; it is like the fleas who rush to jump on white linens.” Criticism is an interesting creature. It can be motivated purely by honesty, or it can be motivated by fear. It can be brought about because of anger, or because of a desire to see someone succeed. It is an adaptability that lends criticism its bizarre traits. It is only in a criticizers motive that we can understand his intention. Only once we understand his motive Read more […]

Mark Sanford Should Stay Away From Politics

Ex-South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford destroyed both his family and his political career by carrying on an affair with an Argentine woman. So now he wants back in—and he is making his “learning about forgiveness” a selling point in his “apology” campaign for Congress. This whole thing stinks. Christians need to stay away from it. Here’s why: There is always a two-fold issue before voters about a candidate: (1) Where does the candidate stand on issues?; and (2) Can I trust the candidate Read more […]
