Colonel Rob Maness, GatorPac, And The Need for Character In Washington

Principles are drawn in the chambers of the heart; we are designed by God from the outset with the ability to produce unwavering character. But man often chooses to eschew his principles in favor of selfish opportunity. Many politicians are driven wholly by opportunity, and are absent core principles; they bend in the breeze. Few in Washington have character, and those who do are targeted for it. Last November, Col. Rob Maness lost his bid for the United States Senate. The two leading Read more […]

“Free Healthcare”: Iowa and Louisiana Obamacare Premiums Increase by Double Digits

The Affordable Care Act is making more of its state exchanges more expensive, particularly the ones in Iowa and Louisiana. Fox News reported: In Louisiana, 2015 plans will be much costlier, according to The Times-Picayune. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, the exchange’s largest insurer, is increasing prices 18.3 percent to 19.7 percent for three different plans. More than 50,000 customers are currently covered by those plans. However, the insurer isn’t hiking rates on customers with narrowed Read more […]

Education Needs More Parental Involvement & Less Government Intrusion Says State Sen

Does the name Elbert Guillory ring a bell with anyone? Guillory was a black Democratic lawyer who was first elected to the Louisiana State House of Representatives in 2007. In 2009, he ran for the state senate and won. On May 31, 2013, he boldly stood up and declared that he was switching his party affiliation to the Republican Party because it was the political party of freedom and the Democratic Party was the party of the big government form of slavery. He recorded a video speech that explained Read more […]

US Supreme Court Legalizes Gay Marriages by Refusing to Hear Appeals

Yesterday, the US Supreme Court stunned most of the nation when it announced that it will not hear the appeals from five states concerning same-sex marriages. In those five states, Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin, lower courts had ruled that bans on same-sex marriages were unconstitutional. The states had appealed to the nation’s highest court in hopes that they would make a definitive ruling. By refusing to hear the appeals, the Supreme Court unofficially endorsed the legalization Read more […]

Federal Judge Rules Against Gay Marriage

It’s been sad to see how many liberal judges have been succumbing to the pressure of gay rights advocates. Time and again we’ve seen one judge after another over turn states’ bans on same sex marriages and the recognition of those marriages from other states. In Ohio, and several others states, amendments have been passed by a majority vote of the people to define marriage as the legal union between one man and one woman. Yet Ohio’s constitutional amendment is now being reviewed by a federal Read more […]

U.S. District Judge Overturns Baton Rouge Bar Gun Ban

You talk to most liberals, and they’ll tell you that guns and alcohol just don’t mix. Perhaps they don’t. But I don’t think that allowing armed patrons to enter a bar or a restaurant that serves alcohol would necessarily lead to a blood bath, which is what liberals want to happen so they can justify more gun control. In Louisiana, you can get a strawberry daiquiri – an alcoholic beverage – in a drive-thru. You can legally drink and drive as long as the alcoholic drink is a frozen one. But Read more […]

School Choice Under Attack By Obama

“In Europe first and now in America, elected men have taken it upon themselves to indebt their people to create an atmosphere of dependency. And why? For their own selfish need to increase their own personal power.” – Pope Francis Our political class is selfishness in the flesh. They prey on all of us in order that they may hold on to, and consolidate their power. From this selfish political class extend tendrils which have inserted themselves into every industry, and every facet of our existence. Read more […]

Liberals Want Texas to Secede, Conservatives Want Texas to Secede–Let It!

President Obama had his first press briefing today since being re-elected. Most of the questions involved the resignation of disgraced CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus and the possibility of Ambassador Susan Rice taking Secretary Clinton’s position when she resigns in January. They were generally good questions with Obama giving generally bland, repetitive answers and rehashing old buzzwords like “hostage” (the rich want to hold the middle class hostage!), but one thing I would have liked to hear Read more […]

Feds Use Dusky Gopher Frog to Steal Over 1,500 Acres of Land

One of the goals of a socialistic government is to claim ownership of all land within the country and then dictate to all of the people what land they will be allowed to live on and how to use that land.  Our federal government is well on its way to making that happen and are using any means possible, including bogus and illegal confiscations. In the latest case, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service declared 1,544 acres of land in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana to be critical habitat for the dusky Read more […]
