Win-Win: Castro Continues Terrorizing His Own People & Obama Gets His Legacy

“Under a dictatorship, a nation ceases to exist. All that remains is a fiefdom, a planet of slaves regimented by aliens from outer space.” – Wole Soyinka When the world is full of terror, it becomes as a fog, secreting away in its density the smaller, but just as dangerous, monsters. We are a world battling Islamic extremism on multiple fronts: ISIS, Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, Al-Shabaab–just to name a few. We are entering a new Cold War with Russia, as Vladimir Putin treats Ukrainian lives like one Read more […]

President Obama Removes Cuba from State Terrorism Sponsor List

As part of normalizing relations with Cuba, President Obama has taken them off the State Department’s list of terrorism sponsors. I’m not sure exactly how the two are related but apparently Cuba has promised to stop partnering with terrorists and that promise is enough for our President.   BREAKING: White House: Obama to remove Cuba from list of state sponsors of terrorism.— The Associated Press (@AP) April 14, 2015 President Barack Obama will take Cuba off the U.S. list Read more […]

How Long Do We Have Before We Fall To Tyranny?

“There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of justice.” – Charles de Montesquieu What defines a free society? Freedom of speech? Freedom of religion? Freedom of the press? Each of these things is a piece of what we would traditionally label a free, and open society–though a free society possesses many other component pieces. We tend to take these freedoms for granted in the United States because they are protected in our founding document. Read more […]

Obama Opens Relations with Dictatorship in a Desperate Attempt to Stay Relevant

The President now opens relations with Cuba. Why? “The idea of reasoning with terrorists without force or with appeasement is naive, and I think it’s dangerous.”  – George Allen We live in a savage world, a world in which powerful leaders display a depth of indifference, and cruelty toward their people that is nothing short of horrifying. We live in a world in which governments tell their citizens what to watch, what occupations they must have, with whom they can interact, and even what they can, Read more […]

Cruz’s Father Says Obama Just Like Castro

In 1939, Rafael Bienvenido Cruz was born in Matanzas, Cuba.  At age 14, young Rafael fought with Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro to overthrow the harsh dictatorial regime of Cuban President Fulgencio Batista.  Under Batista’s strict dictatorship, Rafael suffered beatings and imprisonment because of his opposition to the government.  He failed to realize at the time that Castro was a communist.  By the time he found out, it was too late and Castro was proving to be just as bad if not worse Read more […]

Obama Gladly Shakes Hands With Dictator

“Sometimes I think that a parody of democracy could be more dangerous than a blatant dictatorship, because that gives people an opportunity to avoid doing anything about it.” – Aung San Suu Kyi We like to live in a perfect, insular bubble. Inside our bubble, we have everything we want: food, homes, jobs, friends, family, and a country of which we can be proud. We can see through the bubble to the outside, but our image of the rest of the world is warped. Because of what we have, we can’t often Read more […]

Update on Cuba North Korea Missile Exchange

A few days ago, I posted an article on the possibility that North Korea and its Communist ally Cuba were planning some kind of threat to the US similar to the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. A North Korean ship had been siezed by Panama officials under suspicion of drug trafficking. It turns out the ship was carting crates of what looked like missile parts. The crew’s behavior also reinforced the idea that something major was going on: the captain purportedly tried to commit suicide, the crew Read more […]
