White House Admits Plans to Close Guantanamo in the Works

After a long bout of silence and accusations of delays, the Obama administration finally announced that plans for Congress to close down Guantanamo Bay are near completion. “The Administration is in the final stages of drafting a plan to safely and responsibly close the prison at Guantanamo Bay and to present that plan to Congress,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said. “That has been something that our national security officials have been working on for quite some time, primarily Read more […]

Should the Servicemen Killed in Chattanooga Receive Purple Hearts?

Republican Sen. John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, stated Wednesday that he wants to make sure the servicemembers killed in the Chattanooga shooting receive Purple Hearts. Four Marines and one sailor were gunned down by 24-year-old Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez last Thursday in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at two separate military facilities, The Washington Times reports. Without the courageous efforts of other nearby Marines to drag those hit to safety and attempt to subdue Read more […]

Government Looks to Save Money by Cutting Military Pay

In a speech on Wednesday off the coast of San Diego, outgoing Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel warned troops that the U.S. can’t afford its military personnel anymore. Troops are already bracing for the results of a report on Feb. 1, which will most likely not be friendly to military pay. The report is by the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission, which was originally created in 2013 by Congress for the purpose of researching feasible reforms for military pay and retirement Read more […]

The Obama Blame Game: Bowe Bergdahl Edition

“I praise loudly. I blame softly.” – Catherine The Great Tale as old as time: the blame game. The Read more […]

The Five-Sided Money Pit: Is Hagel A Hope Or GOP Blackmail To RaiseTaxes?

Writing for Wired Magazine’s “Danger Room,” Spencer Ackerman recently explained why Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel needs to deliver on his promises to reform the Pentagon: “In March 2012, the Government Accountability Office, Congress’ investigative agency, took a look at the 96 highest-priority defense programs in the Pentagon acquisitions system. The watchdog organization found that the acquisition programs represented an estimated total cost of $1.58 trillion, and had actually ‘grown Read more […]

Liberals Skewer Conservative Senator Ted Cruz—He’s Doing Something Right!

Denis Diderot said: “Gaiety is a quality of ordinary men. Genius always presupposes some disorder in the machine.” A machine is designed to function in the same way every time it is used. If there was a chance that your dishwasher would leak water half of the times you used it; you’d get a new dishwasher. America, however, wasn’t designed to be a machine, despite what many may think. Washington was designed with the intent of flexibility, so as to avoid entrenched corruption. Elections, term limits, Read more […]
