Poll: A Quarter of Americans Think the Media Try to be Objective

That might seem like a lot of Americans who seem to trust the media, but that figure is actually down significantly from the past few years. It’s an all-time low for this particular survey conducted by the Newseum Institute. It’s interesting to note that those most likely to distrust the media are young people, middle-aged people, and Republicans. Those most likely to trust the media are older people and Democrats. CNS News reported: The survey asked if respondents agreed with this statement: Read more […]

The Partisan Fallacy and Hobby Lobby

Rejecting partisan arguments because they are partisan is… partisan. According to Nizkor.org, the genetic fallacy “is a line of ‘reasoning’ in which a perceived defect in the origin of a claim or thing is taken to be evidence that discredits the claim or thing itself.” The process of argumentation—building up, and tearing down arguments—is an easy one. Well, it should be, if one adheres to logical constructs, and avoids fallacies. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, and sometimes Read more […]

There Is Not A Widespread Bias Against Blacks Within The Police Force & The Legal System

We need to debunk the Widespread Bias myth. According an NBC/Marist poll: “The grand jury decisions not to indict police officers who killed unarmed men in Ferguson, Missouri and Staten Island, New York have revealed a huge racial divide in how Americans perceive law enforcement in the United States.” The poll goes on to detail numerous racial divisions regarding the trust Americans place in the police, their behaviors, and the legal system at large: “While 52% of whites express a great Read more […]

Racial Fear Keeps Obama Beautiful

“The words of truth are simple.” – Aeschylus What defines our biases is not how we think, or what we believe, but the way in which we disseminate information to others. Bias is not simply making your beliefs known to others, which is so often what people imagine. Bias is using your perspective as a weapon against others. Bias is the deliberate leaving out of information to skew the perspectives of others. Our media—as if this hasn’t been talked about a trillion times before—is severely Read more […]

First Amendment And Second: Aljazeera Reminds Us How A Free Press Helps

Back when Al Gore sold his failing cable network to Aljazeera, there were many delicious jokes about how the propagandist for the green fraudsters was making a killing off by getting money from the heart of the fossil fuel empire. There were also conservatives who make the presence of the Arab-Sunni-related network a matter of national security.  Cliff Kincaid, for example: “At a time when Americans are increasingly concerned about gun violence and the murder of innocents, Al- Jazeera wants Read more […]

Stan Had Two Dads And They Raped Him A Lot

This is a post about media bias, not about how prevalent pedophile rape is or might be among presenting homosexual couples. I don’t know the answer about that. I harbor doubt that anyone knows because I suspect no one in power wants that kind of data collected. But since this is about media bias, let’s go back to 2010 when a puff piece appeared in the Australian media. You can listen to it here (until they remove it) and see a pdf of the report here. The WinterKnight blog, posted all the text. Read more […]

Don’t Demand Fair Or Equal Treatment From the EPA!

It isn’t just the IRS. Now the EPA has been caught treating Liberal and Conservative environmental groups differently, to the cost of as much as hundreds of thousands of dollars to those conservative groups. “Research by the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), a conservative Washington, D.C., think tank, claims that the political bias is routine when it comes to deciding which groups are charged fees. Christopher Horner, senior fellow at CEI, said liberal groups have their fees for documents Read more […]

Liberal Bias & IRS Criminals

No matter if it’s where you work; where you go to school; or where you hang out, there is always that one person in your life that you just can’t stand. Their very presence in your vicinity makes your skin crawl, as you force back the daggers from your eyes at the very sight of them. No matter what that person does, they are wrong, and you want them to be wrong. Oh–is that just me? Well, regardless, if you would look at them objectively, you may see them in a different light. But your negative Read more […]

Pentagon Recruits Anti-Christian Extremist To Help Craft Tolerance Policy

Over the years, I have seen much of what makes people tick in regard to political leanings. I have discovered that the smarter someone is, the easier it is to have a rational conversation with them. As the curve goes down, and you begin to deal with less intelligent people, rational conversation becomes more difficult. But more than intelligence, passion plays a large role in whether or not a person is able to convey their beliefs without needless aggression and posturing. I have come across people Read more […]

The Shooting The Liberal Media Won’t Tell You About

I had in mind something to write about today. I was going to write about Obama and the “rich;” about how his desired upper-income tax hike amounts to nothing more than Obama positioning himself as a Robin Hood figure in the eyes of the less fortunate, while simultaneously taxing them to death. But then a news story caught my attention. Something very important happened just two days after the disturbing shooting in Connecticut: another shooting. Why is it so important? Because the national media Read more […]

By Definition, Conservatism Cannot Be Extreme

Other than “racist,” “homophobe,” “Islamophobe,” “bigot,” and “sexist,” one of the media’s and the elected Democrats’ most preferred pejoratives for conservatives and Republicans is the word “extremist.” We are “radical,” we are “extreme,” we are wing-nuts on the outer fringes of society. One of the conservatives’ and Republicans’ most extreme policy positions, as the media insists to the public, are on abortion: we are against it. How extreme. There are unborn babies whose arms are being pulled Read more […]

Lawrence O’Donnell’s Selective Mockery

I have very little respect for any of the pundits on MSNBC–well, no, scratch that. I have zero respect for any of the pundits on MSNBC. But I will concede admiration for one of them, and that is Lawrence O’Donnell. Admiration, that is, for his openness about his beliefs. To wit, O’Donnell said the following on November 5, 2010: “I am not a progressive. I am not a liberal who is so afraid of the word that I had to change my name to progressive. Liberals amuse me. I am a socialist.” Most Read more […]
