If you refuse to protect the populace from homicide when it is your place to do so you become responsible for murders.
Leverage is a powerful tool used every day in politics. Politicians use the power of their position to forcibly bend a given situation to their advantage. It’s not wrong to use leverage, nor is it always wrong to play politics—sometimes, one must play the game in order to change the game. What is wrong is when the outcome of your political maneuvering winds up costing the american people something valuable: economic security, social stability, safety. With the Democrats’ refusal to even consider any bill that would secure the border without also offering comprehensive reform (decoded: amnesty), they have effectively placed a welcome mat at our southern border.
It’s been well established at this point that many illegal aliens who have been deported don’t often stay that way. They don’t stay that way because there’s no reason to. We have a wide open border, so it’s not as if there is much preventing a return to the United States. It’s also well known that the United States wouldn’t release into the general public illegals who had committed serious crimes, such as homicide. Oh wait—let me rephrase that. We are told by the liberal government that the United States wouldn’t release into the general public illegals who had committed serious crimes, such as homicide. But that may not be the case.
According to William Bigelow of Breitbart:
“The Obama Administration lied last year when they informed Congress and the public that the 2,200 people that the Administration released from incarceration to save money had only minor criminal records. USA TODAY, gaining the data from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through the Freedom of information Act, reports that some of the illegal immigrants had been charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, drug trafficking, and homicide.”
According to Elliot Spagat of The Associated Press, three-time illegal immigrant Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte should have been flagged, but because of an alias, and other possible factors, he appears to have “stayed under the radar until his arrest Friday on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and carjacking in the deaths of two sheriff’s deputies during a shooting rampage in Northern California.”
Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte was first deported back in 1997, then again in 2001. Obviously, deportation was not enough to keep Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte out of the United States. It’s almost as if there would have to be some sort of wall, or security to keep someone like him out. Now, he may have killed two people. So, the question needs to be asked: Who is responsible? Who is responsible for the deaths of those killed by Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte? Furthermore, who will be responsible when the illegals released by the Obama administration–who have had serious criminal charges placed upon them—commit a crime?
If we work through this one step at a time, it’s easy to see who is ultimately responsible for the deaths of two sheriff’s deputies. Conservatives want a secure border. More than anything else, conservatives want our southern border to be secure. The Democrats, however, will not consider any immigration legislation that is not “comprehensive,” meaning that it must include pathways to citizenship for illegal immigrants, etc. But one need only look at the 1986 immigration bill debacle to know that if security measures aren’t dealt with separately, and prior to any amnesty initiatives, they will never be dealt with. It’s a trick.
Conservatives want security first, but Democrats refuse to even entertain that notion. Given that, the Parties are in a stalemate. Now, twice-deported illegal immigrant Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte has killed two United States citizens. Had we dealt with security first and countered illegal immigration with a strong defense along the southern border, Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte would not have been able to gain re-entry into the United States, let alone murder two deputies. So I will ask again: Who is ultimately responsible for these murders? The answer is definitive: those who balked at making border security a priority over citizenship for illegal immigrants. As for the recently released criminal illegals: Obama himself will be responsible for the crimes they may commit.
This political game has cost lives. The end result of this “beautiful strategy” employed by Obama, and the Democrats is quite ugly.
