President Obama’s War on Coal

A couple of days ago President Obama did what he does best, and no, it isn’t driving the nation further into the ground. Well, he did that too. President Obama delivered an important speech about one of the issues that is nearest and dearest to the hearts of voters all over our fair country.

The President spoke out about climate change, fossil fuels, and renewable energy.

Wait – this isn’t one of the things that people in the United States are most concerned about right now?

Continuing what has been one long tone-deaf administration, the President once again railed against the evils of non-renewable energy, and specifically he derided that great evil that assails us today… coal. I really hope you good folks in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are paying attention to this, because in 2016 the Democrat candidate will still hate coal.

It’s hard to understand this animosity from a candidate who once seemed to love the coal industry (well, maybe just in the swing states).

The President unveiled many new environmental initiatives that will prove extremely costly to the coal industry and likely continue its marginalization.  One of the President’ chief climate advisers puts the administration’s thoughts into words for us.

“The one thing the president really needs to do now is to begin the process of shutting down the conventional coal plants. Politically, the White House is hesitant to say they’re having a war on coal. On the other hand, a war on coal is exactly what’s needed.”

Along with emissions caps, carbon taxes, and other regulations that are sure to drive up the cost of energy while lowering the efficiency of our energy industry, the President has also announced his plan to pour billions of dollars into green energy.

I feel like we’ve heard this one before too.CoalWar_infoGraphic_550-2

Let’s recap, shall we?

The President plans to implement expensive new regulations on the energy industry while we are still trying to claw out of our recent “worst recession ever”. These new regulations will cost millions of dollars, it will cut thousands of job, and it will raise the price of energy around the world. Then the President will spend billions more on already failed “green energy” projects like wind and solar – which have also already wasted billions of dollars.

I think I now understand why our mainstream media thinks the President is so smart… the NSA must have compromising pictures of them.

On energy, this President is a great big failure.
