Planned Parenthood: “Extremists Creating a Poisonous Environment that Feeds Domestic Terrorism”

As of this writing, police aren’t sure of a motive in the shooting and hostage situation at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs. During the incident, several people were injured, and three were shot dead, including one police officer. Fifty-seven-year-old Robert Lewis Dear is the suspect who eventually gave himself up to police and is now in custody.

Predictably, Obama is using the incident to push more gun control:

“If we truly care about this – if we’re going to offer up our thoughts and prayers again, for God knows how many times, with a truly clean conscience – then we have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough.

“We don’t yet know what this particular gunman’s so-called motive was for shooting twelve people, or for terrorizing an entire community, when he opened fire with an assault weapon and took hostages at a Planned Parenthood center in Colorado. What we do know is that he killed a cop in the line of duty, along with two of the citizens that police officer was trying to protect.”

And predictably, Planned Parenthood all but blamed this on radical right-wing “extremism” which they say fuels domestic terrorism:

It’s those anti-abortion, anti-choice extremists who are to blame for domestic terrorism in this country, and which contributed to this shooting and hostage situation.

I know they hate it when we bring it up, but remember Floyd Lee Corkins, the guy who went in to the Family Research Council’s headquarters with guns and a ton of ammo with the intent of shooting and killing as many people as possible and then shoving Chick-Fil-A sandwiches in their mouths? It was right after Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathy made some very “controversial” comments about marriage and family.

Corkins later admitted to investigators that he targeted the FRC, because the Southern Poverty Law Center listed them as an anti-gay “hate group.” You can’t get a clearer motive than that.

If it hadn’t been for the security guard who subdued Corkins before he was able to make any progress, there likely would have been a mass shooting, and it would have most definitely been tied to the SPLC’s “hate map.” Liberals were relieved that no one was killed. That way, they could just sweep the incident under the rug and pretend it never happened.

I wonder if Planned Parenthood is talking about that kind of “extremism.” Or was Corkins just a case of a man who was passionate about his beliefs but “misguided” in his approach?
