“He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.” – Benjamin Franklin
Reason bounces off liberals like bullets off Superman. They are impervious to any form of logic, which is why, despite their deeply flawed philosophy, they have remained relevant for so long. If the facts were laid bare, and everyone were exposed to liberalism in such a way that they would see it for what it truly is, it would be relegated to a small enclave of crazies on the fringes of societies. Unfortunately, because of the media, and the supreme spinning powers of the left, a large portion of Americans buy their garbage whole sale.
Every time evidence emerges that might make a leftist hero look bad, the spin machine comes out in full. One of the central themes of the Obama administration has been wealth inequality. Obama preaches about wealth inequality, and how the wealthy should pay their fair share, on an ongoing bases. A new survey by the Federal Reserve, however, has shown a light on the cockroaches, calling into question Obama’s economic policies.
According to Jennifer Pompi of the Washington Times:
“Under President Obama, the richest 10 percent were the only income group of Americans to see their median incomes rise, according to a survey released this week by the Federal Reserve. The Fed data covered the years 2010-2013, during which period Mr. Obama constantly campaigned against income inequality and won re-election by painting his Republican rival as a tool of Wall Street plutocrats.”
Now, any reasonable Obama supporting individual would wonder why, under Obama’s watch, the wealthiest in America have gained wealth, while the rest of us have lost wealth. They would see the dissonance between Obama’s rhetoric, and the facts, and come to the conclusion that Obama’s policies are either wildly ineffective, or he’s simply not looking out for Americans like he claims. But, excuses are on the way, I’m certain of it. So, let’s do a rundown of the excuses that will likely be used by the left to justify Obama’s failure.
1. It’s Bush’s fault. The classic. The left will claim that Rome can’t be built in a day, and that it was the disastrous policies of Bush that are still keeping the poor, and middle class down.
2. The data is skewed, or unreliable. The left will try to discredit the source, and claim that the data isn’t reflective of reality, that the survey is inaccurate.
3. It’s only a matter of time until it gets better. It’ll just take time. They will point to the falling unemployment (despite a record number of Americans out of the work force), and say that Obama’s policies just need time.
4. It would have been worse without Obama’s policies. The left will argue that without Obama’s economic policies, it would have been substantially worse. This one is the clincher. If all else fails, make stuff up that no one can refute, because it’s pure speculation.
Liberals can never admit that their policies may have failed, so they will make excuses till the cows come home. You cannot project the image of a perfect, utopian philosophy while also recognizing its flaws. Flaws do not exist in utopia, and therefore, they cannot be tolerated. The liberal hold on the average American voter is so tenuous that they must continue to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. Their philosophy is so extreme, and flawed, that it must be wrapped in the most beautiful paper to hide just how ugly it is.
The problem is, you can wrap a turd in gold, but once the gold is ripped away, it’s still a turd. There will be a time when all the excuses will no longer work, because credulity will be strained to the point of breaking. That time is coming soon. Until then, I’ll be looking out for my suggested excuses on MSNBC.
