More Idiotic Hypocrisy of Sequestration That Should Get Obama Impeached

Over the past month, we have seen example after example of the federal government’s wasteful spending in one area and ethically wrong cuts in other areas due to Obama’s sequestration.  From the cancellation of White House tours to the docking of nearly half a dozen air craft carriers, it’s been obvious that the sequester spending cuts are purposely designed to hurt the nation and the American people, but not the people making the cuts.

Border Patrol and Customs agents face up to 20+ days of lost pay due to forced furloughs, further weakening our national security.  In another move to purposely use sequester to weaken our national security; the Air Force has announced that they are grounding some of the combat air squadrons.  Their budget was cut by $591 million through the rest of the fiscal year forcing them to slash about 44,000 flying hours, which is just what North Korea wants to hear.

However, it seems that the White House has finally been force to succumb to the need to cut their budget and have announced that Assistant White House Chef Sam Kass will be furloughed for an undetermined number of days.  Besides cooking for the president a few nights each week, Kass manages the White House vegetable garden and serves as the director of Michele Obama’s Let’s Move program.  I’m sure the president will not be going hungry if Kass isn’t to there to cook for him.

Yet the White House continues to pay someone $100,000 a year to walk the First Dog and $221,000 a year for three calligraphers when their work can be done by computer. Now we hear of yet another example of Obama’s inexcusable spending during a time of supposed austere belt tightening.  The White House hosted a gala event celebrating Memphis Soul.  They invited a number of people to listen to bands and Justin Timberlake pitifully attempt to sing Otis Redding’s hit song, Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay.  You know this had to cost us taxpayers a few hundred thousand dollars at least.

Perhaps the kicker of the day for wasteful spending is the awarding of a contract for gardening services at the US NATO Ambassador’s residence in Brussels, Belgium.  The contract is for 5 years and totals $704,198.30.  Nearly three-quarters of a million dollars for lawn care in Belgium and we can’t fly our war planes or send our aircraft carriers back out to sea.

I wonder how this sets with all of the Border Patrol and Customs agents who face losing nearly a month’s pay between now and September?  What about all of the pilots that will lose flight pay while their fighter jets are grounded?

One thing is clear in all of this.  Obama not only is the one to suggest and push for sequestration, but he is using it to further weaken the national security of the United States at a time when we have a foreign country threatening to use nuclear weapons against us.  It kind of makes me think about Article III, Section 3 of the United States Constitution that reads:

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”

And Article II, Section 4 of the United States Constitution that reads:

“The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
