Mom’s Group Pushing Kroger to Make Customers More Vulnerable to Armed Attacks

Would you prefer to shop at a store that allows American citizens the constitutional right to carry firearms or in a gun free store? Which store do you think would be most likely targeted by an armed robber or attacker?

The closest grocery store to me is a Kroger store. We do a lot of our shopping there and to be honest I’ve never seen anyone openly carrying a gun, especially an AK-47 strapped over their shoulder. However, billionaire anti-Second Amendment former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg wants you to think that Kroger is teaming with right wing gun extremists carrying enough weaponry to fight a small country.

Bloomberg has funded $50 million to an anti-gun or pro-gun control group known as Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. They’ve launched a very deceptive and misleading media blitz against Kroger stores in the attempt to force the company to declare themselves a gun free zone.

One of their ads depicts a shirtless beer bellied man standing next to an attractive woman carrying an assault-style rifle with the caption:

“One of them isn’t welcome at Kroger. Guess which one.”

Like I’ve said, I’ve never seen nor heard of anyone walking into a Kroger anywhere carrying an assault-style rifle. The comparison is ludicrous and very misleading. It’s playing on illogical emotions instead of common sense.

One of their other ads features a cute little girl holding an ice cream cone and a 20 something man with an assault-style rifle slung over his shoulder. The ad has the same caption as above and this caption at the bottom:

Attention Shoppers: Kroger doesn’t permit outside food & drink inside their stores. So why would they allow this loaded gun?”

On the national news, I heard a news woman say that it’s ridiculous to think that Kroger would allow someone to carry an assault rifle into their stores but they don’t allow a kid to carry in an ice cream cone.

Think about it. What grocery store allows people to carry food or drinks into their stores when they sell their own food and drinks? It’s like walking into a restaurant with your own meal and drink and sitting down at one of their tables to eat it. Another thought is that they don’t want people with things like ice cream or drinks to make a mess by dripping on the floor or leaving sticky finger prints all over. Kroger’s don’t allow pets in the store either, but what does that have to do with food & drink or loaded guns?

Shannon Watts, Founder of Moms Demand Action commented about the ads saying:

“These images bring into stark contrast Kroger policies that prohibit skateboards, food and a lack of appropriate attire in stores, but allow the open carry of loaded guns.”

“This inconsistency is particularly shocking given that the laws in a majority of states do not require a background check, permitting or even training to open carry a firearm. In all states, but especially those where gun laws are lax, businesses have an obligation to protect their employees and patrons.”

Her ‘stark contrast’ issues are absurd and border on false advertisement, but this should not be surprising from people who no longer respect our constitutional rights. Just because they don’t like it, they insist that everyone has to cave into their liberal way of thinking and yield our rights and freedoms.

Knowing that the most gun hating politician in America is funding the campaign is not surprising either. Bloomberg is one of the top 10-15 richest people in the United States and dropping $50 million into this anti-Second Amendment, anti-gun, anti-constitutional rights deceptive advertising is like you and I giving them $50 of our money. Bloomberg has been spending millions throughout America trying to take away all of our guns and ability to defend ourselves. I just wish he would go into seclusion like so many other has been politicians do when they’re no longer wanted.

If you have a Kroger store near you, make it a point to tell the managers not to give into this anti-gun effort. Let them know that it’s the gun-free places and stores that are targeted by armed robbers and attackers. They don’t target places where people might be armed. Use Target as an example as they were hit within a couple weeks of announcing their gun-free zone policy.
