Left uses Michael Brown death to their advantage, despite evidence supporting Officer Wilson.
“I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it’s for or against.” – Malcolm X
Fantasy is a strong drug; it keeps us comfortable in times of distress, it helps us shift blame when we have no other options, and it gives us what we want rather than what we need. Fantasy is a drug used to great benefit by the left. The left has used fantasy to convince Americans that Obamacare was good for them, that Benghazi was no big deal, and that Barack Obama is not the massive failure that he has been. The most egregious use of fantasy by the left, however, is in the stirring of racial hatred to their own benefit.
President Obama, and the Democrats constantly use race to stir hatred. According to The Washington Times, in September, while speaking at a Congressional Black Caucus event, president Obama used the opportunity to stoke the flames of racial animosity once again:
“In too many communities around the country, a gulf of mistrust exists between local residents and law enforcement…Too many young men of color feel targeted by law enforcement — guilty of walking while black or driving while black, judged by stereotypes that fuel fear and resentment and hopelessness.”
He was, of course, referring to the incident in Ferguson, MO. in which Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, was shot to death by Darren Wilson, a white police officer. The incident in Ferguson was murky enough to incite riots for weeks, which included looting, and extraordinary property damage. However, as new evidence emerges, the account of officer Wilson is looking more, and more accurate, making it appear as though Michael Brown was indeed the aggressor.
According to The Washington Post:
“But more than a half-dozen unnamed black witnesses have provided testimony to a St. Louis County grand jury that largely supports Wilson’s account of events of Aug. 9…Some of the physical evidence — including blood spatter analysis, shell casings and ballistics tests — also supports Wilson’s account of the shooting…Judy Melinek, a forensic pathologist in San Francisco who reviewed the report for the Post-Dispatch, said it ‘supports the fact that this guy is reaching for the gun, if he has gunpowder particulate material in the wound.’ Melinek, who is not involved in the investigation, said the autopsy did not support those who claim Brown was attempting to flee or surrender when Wilson shot him in the street.“
While the evidence is stacking up in favor of Officer Wilson’s account of the incident, there are many in Ferguson, and around the country who simply refuse to believe what they are being shown. Once again, from The Washington Post:
“Benjamin L. Crump, a lawyer for the Brown family, said Brown’s family and supporters will not be persuaded by the autopsy report or eyewitness statements that back Wilson’s account of the incident.”
We are a nation that has been divided along racial lines. That is not disputed. Racism in indeed real, even today, and no one is arguing otherwise–despite claims being made that they are. Additionally, no one is arguing that police brutality does not occur. What is being argued, and now supported by the evidence, is that the death of Michael Brown was not a white on black racial crime, but rather a simple matter of an officer defending himself against an aggressor.
However clear the evidence continues to be, those who don’t want to believe will simply deny deny deny. This has been used to great effect by Obama, and all the other race hustlers on the air, to stoke the narrative of “white (Republicans) hate blacks.” The Democrats need the black vote, and they have it, but they use incidents like the one in Ferguson to subtly remind minorities that it is the Democratic Party that holds their interests at heart, and that the Republicans are the white aggressors. The evidence could be conclusive, and the narrative will not stop, because it is useful for the advancement of the liberal agenda.
The Democrats use incidents like the one in Ferguson to make linkages between racism, and conservatism. Anyone who doesn’t support the idea that Michael Brown was the victim of a racial hate crime is racist. And guess who the left is constantly labeling as racists? Conservatives. The narrative also claims that the Republican Party is the Party of old, white men, and as such, must be rife with racist elements. So long as Obama, and his acolytes can stir up racial animosity—regardless of the evidence—they can use it to keep the stranglehold they have on the black vote, and I’m sure Ferguson will be used for years to do just that.
Fantasy is a powerful drug.
