Marco Rubio: Obamacare Was Designed To Fail

“One of the common failings among honorable people is a failure to appreciate how thoroughly dishonorable some other people can be, and how dangerous it is to trust them.” – Thomas Sowell

It has always been clear to me that Democrats lie. It is also clear that they manipulate the truth just as often. Democrats are the very definition of “the end justifies the means.” They will do anything in their quest to achieve their end goal. Just as this is true, it is also true that Republican presidential candidates will never make that connection–or if they do, they won’t dare speak it publicly. Republicans are so terrified of the media that they refuse to call a liar a liar.

This fear of the truth is a survival instinct. Republicans believe that to survive in politics, one must play nice. They believe that their opponents think the same way. They could not be father off. Given this disparity, we are at a substantial disadvantage as a Party. We are playing flag football, while they are playing full tackle, and it’s not even close.

Some Republicans are beginning to come to their senses, and they are realizing that if they call it like they see it, they too can win. For example, in a recent interview with Breitbart, Marco Rubio (at whom I was previously angry because of his involvement in the Gang of Eight immigration bill) went farther than any other 2016 hopeful has gone so far in terms of seeking the truth, and laying it out.

“I believe single payer is always the goal that they wanted. In fact, I think Obamacare was designed to eventually lead us to that point. What I think you’re going to see now is as Obamacare begins to fail, instead of recognizing it as a failure, we need to back and embrace free market principles. I think you’re going to find the left increasingly saying that Obamacare’s failure proves we need a single payer system, so I’m not surprised by it at all.”

Now, I have known this to be the case for a while now, as have many conservative commentators—specifically Ann Coulter—but for a potential candidate to actually dare to speak it is astounding. I think we may finally have a winner in the presidential dog fight. I would urge the other candidates to follow Rubio’s lead.

Going further, however, what this says about the Democrats is chilling. If Obamacare was truly designed to fail, leading us into a push for a single-payer system, what does that say about the Democrats? If those whom we have elected to lead are deliberately causing chaos simply in order to get what they want, we have a responsibility to get them out of office. It’s not as if good intentions have gone awry. If Obamacare was, from its inception, made to fail, our leaders are acting against the American people. They are a new kind of menace. They are treasonous.

We can’t continue to believe, in the face of all that is happening, that the Democrats are good people whose ideology is simply misguided. The truth points in another direction. We cannot fear the possibility that our leaders are acting malevolently. And we must be willing to follow the line of logic to its end. I hope that Rubio does not falter in his argument, and I hope that Cruz, and the other candidates follow his lead. If we are facing evil, we need a candidate who isn’t afraid to look the devil in the eyes.
