I’ve said it many times, and I’ll say it again: the intolerance of liberals is unfathomable. Liberals prattle on and on every day about tolerance; but their not so well kept secret is that they will only tolerate you if you agree with them wholly. If you are not an anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, anti-war, pro-Obamacare, fanatical liberal zealot, you are not to be tolerated. I’ve come to realize that liberals just don’t understand what the word tolerance means. Silly liberals and their lack of vocabulary!
Once again, as is a daily occurrence, liberals have exercised their own special brand of intolerance. On Friday, Mike Huckabee said this while speaking to Neil Cavuto regarding the Newtown tragedy:
“We ask why there’s violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage? Because we’ve made it a place where we don’t want to talk about eternity, life, what responsibility means, accountability. That we’re not just going to have to be accountable to the police if they catch us, but one day we stand before a holy God in judgment. If we don’t believe that, then we don’t fear that…Maybe we ought to let (God) in on the front end and we wouldn’t have to call him to show up when it’s all said and done at the back end.”
This assessment by Mr. Huckabee is not only astute, but extremely accurate. It is because we have no social understanding of God on a public level that violence is growing. Like I mentioned a few days ago: the farther we walk into the woods without a compass, the more likely it is that we will never find our way back.
Of course, this is my opinion, and Huckabee’s opinion, and the opinion of many people. We have the right to express this opinion in times we think it appropriate. But liberals have a problem with that; they disagree with Huckabee and they took it to the next level. Here are some tweets following the show:
@pattonoswalt: “Oh, and @GovMikeHuckabee? Funny sketch on SNL’s Weekend Update back in 2008. But today? Go F**K yourself. Forever.”
@rebeccawatson: “I know some friends will differ w/ my gun control stance, but at least we can all agree that Mike Huckabee should go f**k a blender.”
@Nicronon: “According to Mike Huckabee, God is a terrorist who targets children when public schools refrain from worshiping him. Pretty sick.”
This is just a few of the worst from a litany of awful tweets from liberals. I understand that they have the right to an opinion as much as conservatives do, but my point is this: you would never see conservatives tweeting things this appalling in response to a comment from a liberal. We may very vocally disagree, but the extraordinary hate comes from the Left nine times out of ten.
The liberal definition of tolerance is radically different from the standard definition. There is an old saying: empty barrels make the most noise. In other words, those who know the least are generally the ones who yell the loudest. Hate comes from the foolishness and emptiness of an unremarkable person. Mike Huckabee was right in what he said; and the foolish and empty have made their shrill voices heard.
