I find it ironic that a large part of world terrorism at the moment is being conducted by Muslims who want everyone to live by a strict Islamic code, which they profess to be the religion of peace. However, the religion of peace continues to raise its ugly head of terrorism in Egypt.
The Sinai-based group known as Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis just issued a warning to all tourists in Egypt that they had better leave the county before it’s too late. Anyone remaining in the country after a Feb. 20 deadline will be subject to attack by the Islamic militants.
This is the same terrorist group that claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing on Sunday that killed two South Korean tourists along with one Egyptian. This attack occurred in South Sinai on a bus that was heading for the popular tourist spot of St. Catherine’s Monastery.
On Twitter, the group bragged:
“Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis has successfully sacrificed one of its heroes to detonate the bus headed toward the Zionists, and this comes as part of our economic war against this regime of traitors.”
“With God’s will we will be watching this treacherous gang of infiltrators and we will target their economic interests in all places in order to paralyze their hands from (hurting) Muslims.”
The regime they are speaking about is the current governing regime of Egypt that ousted Muslim Brotherhood Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi. Tourism in Egypt is a major source of revenue that the terrorists are planning on targeting in order to try to force the current government to step down and reinstate strict Islamic rule.
Egypt’s army has been mounting its efforts in the Sinai to fight the extremists, but the Sunday bus attack and statement of targeting tourists has put a new sense of urgency to the army’s efforts. Once thought safe, the tourist resorts at the Red Sea may find themselves the targets of Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis.
The Muslim Brotherhood, which has been declared to be a terrorist organization by Egypt’s ruling Army leaders, says they are not connected to any of the violence. However, neither the Muslim Brotherhood nor Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis deny that they are affiliated, but it’s obvious that they are fighting for the same cause.
Keep in mind that President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton fully supported the Muslim Brotherhood and have never denounced their support of the terrorist organization. Both of them are also facing serious charges in Egyptian and possibly world courts for their involvement and support of the Muslim Brotherhood and the violence the group launched on the Egyptian people. I hope Americans keep that in mind when Hillary runs for president in 2016. Every Republican needs to be broadcasting her role and support of Islamic terrorists for the next two years and hopefully she’ll get the message that we don’t want her kind in office any more.
In the meantime, if you have any plans of visiting Egypt, you may want to think twice before boarding your plane.
