Immigration Officers Could Lose Job if They Enforce the Law

At one time, if someone entered the US illegally, they were arrested and deported.  If they entered on a visa and the visa expired, they could be detained and deported.

However, under the Obama administration, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents are not allowed to detain or arrest illegal aliens for entering the country illegally or for expired visas.  The only illegals that can be arrested and deported by ICE agents are those that have been convicted of a criminal offense.

According to Chris Crane, union head of the National ICE Council, an immigration officer can face disciplinary action up to termination for enforcing the immigration laws passed by Congress.  ICE agents are being made to be the enemy of the government instead of the upholders of the law.

Crane also explains that under current rules they are being forced to abide by, most of the 9/11 perpetrators would have gone free from arrest and allowed to carry out their plans.

Why?

Because that is the fiat orders of President Barack Hussein Obama, who has ignored the US Constitution by an abuse of power in determining what federal laws will be enforced and which ones will not.  He has assumed the role of Congress as well as the executive role and in some cases, he has even assumed the role of the judicial branch.

Consequently, the National ICE Council has filed a lawsuit against the Obama administration over the government’s deportation policy.  They claim that the administration is forcing them to violate federal law by not being able to carry out their sworn duty to uphold the law.

The irony of the quandary that ICE agents find themselves in will be seen this week as an illegal immigrant from the Philippines, Jose Antonio Vargas, will be testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  Sitting at the same witness table as the illegal will be Chris Crane who has the authority to arrest Vargas but is forbidden to do so by Obama.

As Crane said in the video, it is no longer illegal to enter the US illegally, unless the person comes here and commits a crime first.  Then he/she can be arrested and deported.  In fact, Crane said that ICE agents are removing 400,000 illegals from jails and deporting them.  He mentioned that there are probably over a million illegals in our jails and prisons.  This should be a wakeup call to Washington to say that this is a huge problem.

However, Obama is too busy playing politics and is willing to violate the US Constitution and federal law just to win votes.  It demonstrates that he has no care or concern for the wellbeing of the American people or for our national security.  The only thing Obama cares about is how much power he can grab until he has all of the power there is.  And if Washington doesn’t do anything to stop him, he will have all that power in a very short time.
