If you asked who you think is the most unpopular member of Congress, who would you say?
I thought about that question and immediately thought of a whole list of names. Among those in the Senate I would list as my personal most unpopular include Harry Reid, Elizabeth Warren, Chuck Schumer, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Tom Harkin, Al Franken, Claire McCaskill, and Cory Booker. Among those in the House I would quickly list Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner, Maxine Waters, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Keith Ellison, Charlie Rangel and Gregory Meeks.
Note that I did list one Republican in the midst of all the Democrats and that’s John Boehner. I firmly believe that he is a moderate at best and someone who has repeatedly compromised with Obama instead of standing his ground. For that, he is my most unpopular Republican.
If I had to pare down my list to only a few, it would be hard to and even harder to single out just one. However, that’s exactly what a number of voters were asked to do in a recent poll. When all was said and done and calculated, California Democrat Nancy Pelosi came out on top of the list of the most unpopular member of Congress with 58% of the vote. In fact, 41% rated her as ‘very unfavorable.’
In their report on this result, Townhall stated:
“What is there not to like about Pelosi? After all, Planned Parenthood awarded her with its “highest recognition of leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions” for her work in support of abortion. Of course, being a ‘Catholic’ the Catholic Church ruled that she may not take Communion due to her unorthodox stance.”
“There was also that time that Pelosi asserted that America’s Founding Fathers would have supported Obamacare:”
“To go to back to our founders once again, they sacrificed it all for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This law, the affordable care act, is about a healthier life, the liberty to pursue your happiness.”
“It seems that even after passing the bill, Pelosi never did quite ‘find out what’s in it.’”
“On the whole things have gotten so bad even Democrats are starting to turn from their newly-elected House Minority Leader.”
Which brings up the question as to why they elected her to remain as the House Minority Leader? If they see her as the embarrassment she is, why keep her as the leader of the Democrats in the House? The answer is simple. Nancy Pelosi raises hundreds of millions of dollars in donations for the Democratic Party and they want to keep the cash flow coming in.
Do you agree with the poll? Was Pelosi your choice or did you perhaps pick Harry Reid because of how he brought all of Congress to a standstill for the past four year? Or did you pick someone else? Let us know who your choice is.
