Albert Einstein said: “In matters of truth and justice, there is no difference between large and small problems, for issues concerning the treatment of people are all the same”
With all of our economic problems, the United States has shifted focus. We used to be a country of social values. We used to prize our moral integrity. Over the last several decades, our vision of moral integrity became blurry, and now we are nearly blind to the moral injustices in our society. Namely, I am speaking of the termination of infants and the practice of abortion.
Despite a recent Gallup poll showing that only 15% of Americans think abortion is a morally acceptable practice, we slaughter approximately 1,000,000 infants a year. As time goes by, fewer people are willing to speak up for life—even Republicans.
A video recently surfaced of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson condemning the culture of abortion. In response, Sarah Palin took to Facebook to thank Robertson for speaking his mind on the subject:
“Speaking on the issue of the sanctity of life, Phil reminds us that all life is God-given, no matter how small or how special.”
Palin also condemned the notion of “social truces,” promoted by Mitch Daniels and Chris Christie back in 2011. Daniels mentioned the idea of leaving social issues off the table, because they might drive people away from the Republican Party. He offered up a social truce so that we could focus on the economy. You know, the thing that is really important.
This is what America needs to hear: Life isn’t something we decide it to be. Life is. Simply put, it is not up to us to decide if an infant gets to live or has to die. We encourage a culture of death. If you support abortion; if you support the clamping off of limbs, the sucking out of brains, and tearing off of heads, you are supporting genocide. If you support abortion, you are supporting infanticide. And in this complicity, you yourself are committing murder.
We need more people—politicians or otherwise—to do what Phil Robertson did. He spoke plainly and strongly regarding the tragedy of abortion. We cannot continue to watch the world go by, pretending nothing wrong is going on. Don’t let fear stop you from speaking out.
The Nazis exterminated millions, and America is doing the same. The only difference is that in America, it’s a Right.
