“Perspective gives us the ability to accurately contrast the large with the small, and the important with the less important. Without it we are lost in a world where all ideas, news, and information look the same. We cannot differentiate, we cannot prioritize, and we cannot make good choices.” – John Sununu
Our country is moving in the opposite direction to terror. Terror encroaches, and we walk the other way. It’s not that we have a valid reason for doing so, but that we are afraid that if we attack terror for what it is, and scrutinize its actual symptoms, we will be perceived as insensitive. I am, of course, talking about racial profiling. For all intents and purposes, racial profiling is necessary to push back against the ever present threat of terror.
According to FOX:
“The Justice Department is set to announce broad restrictions on racial and religious profiling in federal investigations, including those involving matters of national security…The expected ban comes amid heightened concerns of Islamic militant groups executing a terror attack on U.S. soil and was reportedly opposed by national security officials…The finishing touches are still being put on the policy change, but the final version is expected to scale back the authority federal agencies received in the aftermath of the 9/11 terror attacks, including the monitoring of some religious groups and surveillance on mosques without evidence of suspected criminal activity.”
The left has always had a deeply held disgust for racial profiling, as it suggests that anyone who is Muslim may pose a threat to national security, based solely on their religious affiliation. But as it stands right now, that is the case. Aside from outliers, such as the Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh, the grand majority of terrorists in the modern era are radical Islamists. That is just the fact. According to Religion of Peace, since 9/11 there have been over 24,000 fatal Islamic terror attacks across the world.
This is not to say that all Muslims are terrorists, but rather that the vast majority of terrorists in the modern era are indeed radical Muslims. That being the case, racial/religious profiling is a necessary step in determining who could pose a risk to national security. Israel profiles, and they haven’t had a terrorist infiltrate their Ben Gurian national airport since 1972. It’s something westerners would be appalled by, but it’s a necessary step in the fight on terror.
If we lived in a world in which Germans were radicalized, that their particular religious beliefs drove them to behave violently toward other countries, I would have no problem being profiled because of my clearly Germanic heritage. Because it’s a fact of life. It’s realism.
With ISIS a severe, and very present threat, we need profiling now more than ever. According to Edwin Mora of Breitbart, there is credible evidence that ISIS has already infiltrated our country. Mora reported that Border agent Art Del Cueto said: “The intel we have is hard evidence. It’s very hard evidence. It’s pictures. It’s debriefings of individuals.”
The DOJ is taking our security into the Stone Age. Or rather, they are ushering it forward into the politically correct fantasy world, in which everyone is equally likely to be a terrorist as a radical Islamist. Let’s break this down very clearly to demonstrate the insanity.
- The DOJ doesn’t believe that racial, and ethic profiling are necessary in the fight against terror.
- ISIS is a growing, and quickly evolving movement of destruction, who happen to be radical Islamists.
- ISIS is allegedly inside the United States as we speak.
- Despite these new allegations, the DOJ doesn’t believe profiling is necessary.
The left refuses to see the world as it is. They want a utopia in which we are all the same, in every respect, including our ability to terrorize. The left has no perspective. They have created their own internal perspective in which we are all the same. This perspective will be our downfall, because it is not real. Reality will overtake fantasy at some point, and we will all be left dumbfounded as to how this ever could have occurred.
