How The Democrats Use Illegal Immigrant Children To Manipulate Us & Advance Their Agenda

Appeal to emotion or argumentum ad passiones is a logical fallacy which uses the manipulation of the recipient’s emotions, rather than valid logic, to win an argument…Instead of facts, persuasive language is used to develop the foundation of an appeal to emotion-based argument. Thus, the validity of the premises that establish such an argument does not prove to be verifiable.” – Wikipedia

I’m tired of the manipulation. Every aspect of the Democrat platform is based in emotional, intellectual, and philosophical manipulation. Not one of their political positions have any actual merit, so they must channel American opinion through mass manipulation. It takes many forms, but the most powerful, and oft used, is the emotional. Using appeals to emotion, Democrats avoid the necessity of a strong, logical, and persuasive argument. If they can make you cry, or make you feel bad, they’ve already won.

Example: according to Dr. Susan Berry:

Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles read aloud the letters of children of illegal aliens that were addressed to Pope Francis and collected by a coalition of groups seeking rights for illegal immigrants. Gomez said he hoped the letters would challenge the consciences of Americans.”

Of all the types of emotional manipulation, using children is the easiest, and most insidious. One of the letters read goes into the details of a family whose matriarch is going blind, and the daughter relegated to a wheelchair. It’s basically the best sob story in the world. The hope here is that after seeing the plight of the poor children of illegal immigrants, one would feel so bad about deportation that they would change their mind about amnesty. But is that logical? Absolutely not.

Logic can often seem cruel, but the rule of law isn’t always kind. The Republicans are rolling over, and looking to work with Democrats to bring about a “comprehensive” reform—all this means is that rather than passing a border security bill first, allowing time to secure the border prior to making any decisions about the status of illegal immigrants, a “comprehensive” bill deals with all aspects of the problem at once. This is dangerous, because Democrats lie. They will bray about securing the border, but once they get what they want in the form of so-called comprehensive reform, border security will NEVER happen. I repeat, never. It’s 1986 all over again, yet the Republicans are so blinded by their childlike desire to be liked, they don’t care to see the similarities.

Logic asks the tough questions, and requires real answers. Logic asks us to look at the immigration policies of other countries—many of which are the countries so beloved by the Left. Many other countries (including Mexico) have severe immigration policies, including, but not limited to deportation. Yet it is we who are not allowed to be discriminating in terms of our immigration policy. Logic asks us to consider the effect amnesty would have on the economy. Many illegal immigrants are low-skill workers, contributing very little to our nation, and often relying on taxpayer money to survive. This is a drag on our economy. Finally, logic asks us to consider the law. Those who came here illegally broke the law. It’s simple.

Compassion doesn’t mean acquiescence, it means doing what’s right in the kindest way possible. We are not obligated to allow illegal immigrants to stay here, but we are obligated to do what’s right. We are a nation of laws. If we overlook such a substantial breach of law, what else will we overlook? We will not be emotionally manipulated by the letters of children. We will not allow children to be used to advance an agenda. We will do what is right, and do it in such a way as to preserve human dignity. However, that doesn’t mean that we will not deport, it doesn’t mean we will not prosecute, and it doesn’t mean we will not act according to the laws of our land.
