Never has the left’s hypocrisy been so obvious than in the context of their undying and unconditional support for Planned Parenthood while being outraged over the “murder” of Cecil the giant cat. They don’t want to talk about Planned Parenthood’s abuse and torture of unborn babies and their subsequent selling of the babies’ body parts to biomedical companies. They don’t want to talk about the undercover Planned Parenthood videos, unless you’re talking about investigating those deceitful little devils over at the Center for Medical Progress. Everyone knows they’re the actual criminals. They’ll talk about CMP’s “deceitful” and criminal undercover sting operation, but they’ll laud PETA’s myriad undercover videos exposing horrific and criminal practices inside the meat industry’s slaughterhouses.
Animal lives matter. Black lives matter. But it doesn’t matter if you’re black or white, unborn and partially born babies’ lives don’t matter. And I don’t think even fully born babies’ lives matter anymore.
Senator Blumenthal from Connecticut wants to make it a federal crime, subject to fines and even a seven-year prison sentence, to abuse and/or torture animals. Currently, federal law prohibits the selling of video recordings of such abuse. Blumenthal’s proposed law would remove that stipulation.
His proposed bill is called the Prevent Animal Cruelty and Torture Act. CNS News reported:
Blumenthal said, “This bipartisan bill–the first to outlaw animal cruelty at the federal level–states emphatically that these heinous acts are inhumane, illegal and intolerable in a civilized society.”
“My proposal would make it a felony punishable by seven years in prison to engage in acts of maiming and torturing animals,” Blumenthal continued.
“Very simply, anyone who does those practices, as well as making videos of them, ought to be punished criminally under federal law.”
“Intolerable in a civilized society?” What does he know about what should be tolerable or intolerable when he defends Planned Parenthood:
Blumenthal has previously stated that he “will continue to stand” with Planned Parenthood. The Senator fought against recent efforts by lawmakers to end Planned Parenthood’s federal funding after the release of a series of videos showing the organization’s role in harvesting the organs of babies by The Center for Medical Progress.
“I am proud to join with my colleague from Washington State…and others such as she who are championing this cause of defending Planned Parenthood,” Blumenthal said in a July 29 speech on the Senate floor.
“Planned Parenthood is under attack,” he said. “It is under siege from a sensationalistic and disingenuous kind of publicity that are based on undercover videos. People are offended by them, and Planned Parenthood has in fact spoken to the merits of them. I encourage Planned Parenthood to continue speaking to those videos.”
“Planned Parenthood needs no defense from us because the American people support it,” he said.
“I am proud to stand and urge my colleagues to reject this attack from the most extreme members of the anti-choice movement, which seeks to undermine critical access to health care through Planned Parenthood,” he said.
Obviously, we shouldn’t be for animal abuse and torture. But how can someone be so opposed to mistreating animals, but be so in favor of the abortion industry?
