Declaration of Independence Instructs Us to Throw Off Tyranny of Federal Government

The American colonists were being pressured by the tyranny of the British crown.  King George III was doing his best to strip the colonists of all of their rights and freedoms and force them to submit to his supreme power.

Kind of sounds similar to King Barack Obama, doesn’t it?

Periodically, I like to re-read the Declaration of Independence and US Constitution as they are the two most important documents in our nation’s history.  I especially like reading them during these times as there is so much similarity between when they were written and now.

In the Declaration of Independence, a list of grievances against the King of Great Britain was spelled out.  As I was reading through that list, I saw that many of them apply today against Obama.  Here are some of those grievances with some of my own commentary:

“He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.”

When Obama refused to enforce federal immigration laws, a number of states tried to pass their own laws to protect their borders and citizens.  In almost every case, Obama took the states to court to challenge the constitutionality of them.

“He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.”

It’s not that Obama has called the legislature to unusual places, but he has repeatedly done his utmost to make them uncomfortable by shifting blame from himself onto them.  Obama has also refused to compromise on a number of measures for the sole purpose of fatiguing Republicans into compliance with his measures.

“He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.”

Obama hasn’t dissolved Representative Houses per se.  Instead, he uses his executive privileges to completely bypass them, which in many cases is unconstitutional.

“He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.”

Obama has kept some people from being elected and given cause for others to be elected by his refusal to enforce voter registration laws.  He fights against voter ID laws and against states trying to purge dead people and illegals off their roles.

“He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.”

Obama has openly refused to enforce a number of federal immigration laws.  He illegally used an executive order to bypass immigration laws in order to allow 1 million illegals to remain in the US and to obtain benefits such as driver’s licenses (which can be used to register to vote, even though it’s illegal for them to do so), education and health.

“He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.”

Obamacare alone created over 100 new agencies.  Since Obama took office, the federal government has been hiring an average of 101 new employees each and every day.

“He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:”

Obama has been consenting to a number of United Nations treaties and charters, even when they are diametrically opposite to the US Constitution.  Obama allowed UN representatives to monitor various election sites in 2012 presidential election.

“For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:”

When 70% of the American people were against Obamacare, he had his Democratic puppets push it through anyway.  Obamacare has imposed over a dozen new taxes against the will of the people.  He promised not to raise taxes on middle class America and yet he just raised everyone’s taxes by 2% in addition to all of the tax increases hidden in Obamacare.

“For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:”

Last year, Obama pushed through the National Defense Authorization Act that gives federal officials the right to detain American citizens indefinitely without filing any formal charges in the event that anyone sees them as a potential threat.

“For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:”

As stated earlier, Obama choses which laws to enforce and established new laws to be enforced without the approval of Congress.  Basically, he has established himself a monarch similar to the King of Great Britain.

“He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.”

Substitute ‘unions’ for the Indian Savages.  Obama is using them to cause domestic insurrections against many conservatives and conservative actions.  Union activists were bussed in to Republican campaign rallies to disrupt and cause division and strife.

If these grievances were enough to cause our Founding Fathers to rebel and throw off the tyranny of the British monarchy, then aren’t they enough to cause Americans to rebel and throw off the tyranny of Obama and an out-of-control federal government.  We the people need to take America back from those that are hell bent on destroying our nation.
