Obama: Executive Actions on Gun Control are “Entirely Consistent With the 2nd Amendment”

The Second Amendment says that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. At the same time, Obama said that his recent promise to take executive action on guns due to Congress’s inaction is “entirely consistent with the Second Amendment.” Breitbart reported: Barack Obama insists his planned executive actions on gun control will be “entirely consistent” with the Constitution – even as organizations defending the Second Amendment have warned him not to act on Read more […]

Obama Issues First of Twenty-Three Promised Executive Orders to “Curb Gun Violence”

We now have one of the first of twenty-three promised “gun-violence-curbing” executive orders from President Obama. This one encourages mental health practitioners to report any patient information to the FBI which would disqualify that patient from owning a gun under Federal law: While the 1993 Brady law prohibits gun ownership by individuals who have been involuntarily committed, found incompetent to stand trial or otherwise deemed by a court to be a danger to themselves or others, federal Read more […]

Poll: Only 2% of Americans are Concerned About Guns

Of the top 23 top important issues facing Americans, the issue of guns and gun control ranked 19 in a recent Gallup poll. Only 2% of respondents thought that the issue was an important national problem. CNS News reported: According to Gallup, only one percent of respondents mentioned guns/gun control as a concern for most of the months in 2015, although mentions spiked to 7 percent in October and December following mass shootings in those months that dominated the news. (The overall average for Read more […]

Dem Senator Claims There Were 372 Mass Shootings Last Year

Some people are saying there were only four mass shootings last year. So, what is this Democrat Senator talking about? Is he lying and using his own criteria for “mass shooting?” AWR Hawkins with Breitbart reported: On December 31 Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) claimed there were 372 mass shootings–or more than one mass shooting a day–during calendar year 2015. On the other hand, Mother Jones editor Mark Follman reported four mass shootings for the whole year and USA Today reported approximately Read more […]

Obama’s New Year’s Resolution: Take Executive Action on Gun Control

This is probably the one promise we can expect Obama to fulfill. It doesn’t mean he’ll get exactly what he wants. Obama says that the gun lobby is powerful and well-funded. He’s right. And that’s why I think it will be very difficult for him to make headway. But he’ll get close. In his first address of the year, Obama voiced dismay that Congress hasn’t “done anything” to try to prevent gun violence. For this reason, he vowed to handle it himself: He acknowledged that gun Read more […]

California Bans Campus Carry, Extends Gun Confiscation Powers in Same Day

Effective January 1st, California will prohibit students from carrying on university campuses. It was a little surprising to me that California of all places allowed campus carry, as long as the carrier had a concealed carry license. It was listed as an exemption in the law, but I’m sure gun control proponents considered it an unfortunate oversight. This “oversight” is now being corrected. There’s now a universal ban on campus carry, and there are no exceptions. Also effective January Read more […]

Criminal Tries to Break into Texas Home; Gets Shot Three Times

If he had been somewhere like New York City, he’d probably have been fine. Gun ownership is strongly discouraged there, and people have a general fear of guns. If he had broken into someone’s house there, he probably would have been able to get whatever he wanted and leave unharmed. But Texas is a different story. People there own guns and use them in these kinds of breaking-and-entering cases: A man was shot several times when investigators say he tried to break into a Pasadena home in the Read more […]

Hypocrisy: Leftist Elites Surrounded by Armed Guards Want to Take Your Gun

“The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will loose.” – James Earl Jones Liberals hate guns. It’s that simple. They hate the fact that because of the Second Amendment, no government–federal or state–can simply decide to confiscate our guns. It’s as if they truly believe that if guns were eliminated, humanity would suddenly live in peaceful cohabitation. But the genie is Read more […]

Spike Lee on why Americans Don’t Care About Chicago Violence: “It’s not Sandy Hook”

Spike Lee’s recent movie Chi-Raq is a social commentary and satire about Chicago’s prevailing problem of black-on-black gang violence. The title Chi-Raq is a portmanteau of Chicago and Iraq, comparing the South side of Chicago to a war zone. Lee noted that even on the first day of pre-production in Chicago, he had to attend a funeral, because one of his own film associates was shot and killed there. He said that from June 1st to July 9th (the time span of their pre-production), there were Read more […]

Clinton: “Guns Will not Make Americans Safer”

In a sense, I actually think she’s right. Guns, in and of themselves, won’t do a whole lot. They need to be carried, handled, and used by good, knowledgeable, and responsible citizens in order for them to do any good. Having a large arsenal in one’s basement – while useful in some ways – won’t contribute much to the overall safety of a society. CNS News reported: Debate moderator Martha Raddatz noted that Clinton, in the wake of the San Bernardino attack, repeated her call for gun control: Read more […]

Poll: Majority of Americans Oppose “Assault Weapons” Ban

According to ABC News and the Washington Post, for the first time in twenty years, a majority of Americans oppose a ban on so-called assault weapons. What they mean by “assault weapons” are nothing more than semi-automatic rifles. They operate the same exact way as semi-automatic handguns, but they look “scarier.” The Blaze reported: According to a new ABC/Washington Post national poll, there is a growing sense that armed citizens could help thwart a “lone wolf” terrorist as confidence Read more […]

U.S. in Gun Rights Trend Since Sandy Hook

This has to be hard for the gun-grabbers to accept. They were sure they could use the media to over-sensationalize mass shootings such as the one at Sandy Hook to push for more gun control. I’m sure they thought it would be easy. Immediately following Sandy Hook, polls showed that Americans were ready for more stringent gun laws, but that sentiment didn’t last long. It never does. It quickly dissipated, and then Congress and the Senate couldn’t even get the most basic gun control laws passed. Read more […]
