The Way This Pastor Prevented a Mass Shooting Might Surprise You

It was during the New Year’s Eve service just before midnight at a Fayetteville, North Carolina church that a man walked in with an unloaded semi-automatic rifle in one hand and a loaded magazine in the other. Incidentally, the pastor of the church had just been talking to his congregation about violence, particularly violence and mass shootings against churches in the recent past. While the loaded magazine was not attached to the rifle, the pastor was concerned that there might be a round in Read more […]

Texans Celebrate New Open Carry Law at State Capitol Building

It was always surprising to me that it was against Texas law to open carry handguns. You could open carry rifles, but not handguns. Those had to be carried concealed. New legislation has made the open carrying of handguns legal. Actually, bad legislation was overturned. Hundreds of Texans celebrated by open carrying their handguns on the steps of the State Capitol. Surprisingly, no one was hurt or killed during their heavily-armed celebration. [I jest.] I’ve written about open carry demonstrations Read more […]

Huckabee Hits Cruz with Whopper Lie; Then Denies It’s a Lie

“Accuracy is the twin brother of honesty; inaccuracy, of dishonesty.” – Nathaniel Hawthorne I am profoundly disheartened by Mike Huckabee’s behavior. I was a supporter of his in 2008 because he was clearly the more conservative alternative to John McCain, but a short eight years later, he’s let me down–not because he’s polling at a paltry 1.8%, but because he was willfully dishonest when asked about a recent attack on a fellow candidate. A Super PAC supporting Mike Huckabee recently ran an ad Read more […]

California Bans Campus Carry, Extends Gun Confiscation Powers in Same Day

Effective January 1st, California will prohibit students from carrying on university campuses. It was a little surprising to me that California of all places allowed campus carry, as long as the carrier had a concealed carry license. It was listed as an exemption in the law, but I’m sure gun control proponents considered it an unfortunate oversight. This “oversight” is now being corrected. There’s now a universal ban on campus carry, and there are no exceptions. Also effective January Read more […]

Santorum Claims Ted Cruz isn’t a Conservative. Um, What?

“If you analyze it, I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism…The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom, and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.” – Ronald Reagan We’re entering an unusual time in politics. It used to be conservatism versus liberalism; that was the standard by which everything was judged. There was little to no nuance within the two groups. Read more […]

Is Donald Trump the New Barry Goldwater?

A lot of people have been comparing Donald Trump to Barry Goldwater because they are both “anti-establishment” candidates who still have popular support. But that’s about where the comparison ends. Barry Goldwater, like Ron Paul, stood by fixed convictions that made him very unpopular with establishment GOP players. He wasn’t able to be manipulated. In their minds, he wasn’t a “team player.” So even when he won the nomination, because the people liked his honesty and smarts, the Read more […]

Samuel L. Jackson on San Bernardino: “I Really Wanted That to Just be Another, you Know, Crazy White Dude, and not Really Some Muslims”

I think that what he was saying was that if it were a “crazy white dude,” he wouldn’t be as fearful, since we’ve seen that many times already. When he learned that it was a radical Muslim couple, his reaction was, “Oh, s***. It’s here. And it’s here in another kind of way.” In context, he was saying that he didn’t want it to be an act of terrorism, because in his mind, that would be so much worse. That’s why he was hoping it was a crazy white person. The Blaze reported: In a Read more […]

Not a Hate Crime: 3 Black Women Beat White Homeless Man to Death

I’m actually not in favor of classifying anything as a “hate crime.” Obviously, what these three women did was done out of hateful revenge. Most criminals have a hateful and angry heart. That’s why they commit atrocious acts. Calling something a “hate crime” is redundant. In modern usage, a hate crime is more specific than just a crime committed out of hatred. A hate crime is specifically a crime where the attacker is a person of “privilege,” such as a white person, a straight Read more […]

44% of Democrats Support Taking Refugees From Aladdin’s Hometown of Agrabah

I read that headline to my wife, and she chuckled, “Oh, where Aladdin lives? How nice of them.” Yes, where the Disney character Aladdin lives and the central location of the popular 90’s kids’ animated movie of the same name. According to a poll conducted by WPA Research, 44% of Democrats support taking in refugees from the fictional city. Breitbart reported: WPA Research asked Democrats “Would you support or oppose allowing refugees from Agrabah to be re-settled in the United States?” Read more […]

Flashback: Christmas Eve, 1955 was way Warmer Than Today

If you’ve visited the Drudge Report recently, you might have noticed at the top of the page a picture of Santa Claus carrying his bag of gifts on a warm, sunny beach. The headline was “Christmas Eve ‘Warm as July.’” It’s true. It’s been pretty warm for winter, especially in the Southeast. I don’t remember the last time it was this warm at Christmas time in Georgia. The high for Christmas Day is 73 degrees where I live. I may not remember the last time it was this warm this time Read more […]

Bette Midler Blames East Coast Warm Weather on “Ignorant Selfish Climate Deniers”

I’ve mentioned this many times in articles past. Liberals laugh and ridicule conservatives for bringing up unusually cold local weather as counterevidence to manmade global warming. But liberals feel that it’s fair to bring up unusually warm local weather as evidence of manmade global warming. Of course, they also use unusually cold local weather as evidence as well. Singer, actress and prominent climatologist Bette Midler tweeted out this condemnation: “Dec. 22, 2015, 63 degrees in NYC. Read more […]

Video: College Students Sign Petition to Ban “White Christmas” Song Because of Racism

I bet you didn’t know that when Bing Crosby sang the line, “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas…just like the ones I used to know,” he was actually singing about longing for the days when he didn’t see any black people. The song has obvious racial undertones. The singer is dreaming of a white Christmas, at the exclusion of black Christmases. Why would he only dream of white ones? Because he believes that white means pure, and black means dirty. How can one’s racial motives possibly Read more […]
