First, the media were saying that this murderer at the Los Angeles International Airport was an off-duty TSA agent. Now, they’re saying he isn’t a TSA agent, but that he’s a white guy who had “anti-government” literature on him at the time of the shooting. And top it all off, he had an “assault rifle” with five full 30-round-capacity magazines. I’m sure they’ll classify this as a terrorist attack, especially since he didn’t yell out anything like “Allahu Akbar.”
He ended up killing a TSA officer. Specifically one of the behavioral detection officers, who are supposed to look out for “suspicious behavior.” He wounded two others.
They’re now saying that he had “anti-government” literature on him in his bag. The Associated Press reported:
A law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly, said Ciancia was wearing fatigues and carrying a bag containing a one-page handwritten note that said he wanted to kill TSA employees and “pigs.”
The official said the rant refers to how Ciancia believed his constitutional rights were being violated by TSA searches and that he’s a “pissed-off patriot” upset at former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. The note and the gunman’s rifle each had an orange TSA inspection sticker on it.
Great. So now you can guess where the media will go with this one. They’re going to tie this guy (whose name has “CIA” written all over it by the way…just saying) to “right-wing terrorism” because of his alleged written, “anti-government literature,” rant about loss of 4th Amendment liberties at the hands of the TSA.
We’ve all criticized Napolitano, the TSA, the police state. The media are going to use this incident to put us all in the same category. They’re going to say, “See? We always told you those right-wingers were terrorists.” Next, they’ll tell us that this Cia-n-cia character has a Ron Paul bumper sticker and has ties to the Ted Cruz movement.
I’m asking about arming TSA agents, because that might be something else they’d like to do in taking advantage of this event. They saw the conservative response to school shootings, namely arming teachers as a preventive measure. So, if we want to arm schoolteachers to keep mass murderers away, how about arming TSA agents for the same reason?
I’d say it’s a moot point. We don’t need the TSA in the first place. They are a waste of taxpayer money, and they do nothing to keep Americans safe. They’re a constant harassment. Return security functions to the jurisdiction of the airport. They’d do a much better job for a lot less money.
