Rick Warren Subjected to Extreme Hate Following Sons Suicide

George Washington Carver said: “Fear of something is at the root of hate for others, and hate within will eventually destroy the hater.” To me, hate has always been somewhat of a foreign thing. Rather than hate, I simply become frustrated, then tired. But the truth is that everyone possesses hatred within them; even those who don’t often show it. Hatred lies dormant within us for as long as it needs to; waiting for the right moment to inflame our senses. Just as Carver said, the root of hatred is often a fear; fear of something one does not understand. And just as rain falls on the good and the bad; hatred is cast upon both equally.

Pastor Rick Warren recently lost his 27 year-old son to suicide. The loss of a child, specifically in such a horrific way, is something I cannot yet comprehend. I hope to never have to understand such pain as Rick Warren, and his family are experiencing. That being said, I do intellectually grasp what is going on. In addition to losing his son, the fact that Warren is one of the most well-known figures in the world of faith places a boiling spotlight on this tragic scenario.

According to USA Today, in addition to the thousands of prayers and consolations being offered via the web,

“A shocking number are taking this moment of media attention to lash out at Warren on the [web]. The attacks are aimed at him personally and at his Christian message…Some unbelievers want to assure Rick and Kay Warren, his wife and Matthew’s bereaved mother, that there’s no heaven where they’ll meet their son again.”

In the comments section of the USA Today article, a story is being told that disgusts me. One commenter actually took the time to write this: “Either there is no God, or God doesn’t listen to Rick Warren, despite all the money Rick has made off of selling false hope to desperate people…abandon primitive superstitions and accept the universe for what it is — a place that is utterly indifferent to us.”

There is speculation—of course—that many of the hate comments are coming from people who are angry with Warren for his support of various religious and political beliefs that run contrary to their own; such as his support for prop 8. That seems like legitimate speculation. As I’ve said many times: those who claim to be the most tolerant are often those who are the most intolerant.

Regardless of whether you disagree with Warren, and his beliefs, there is a special kind of evil in taking the time to tell him–in the wake of his sons unexpected death–that he is superstitious, primitive, and that he will never see his son again. It takes a very deranged human being to revel in making such comments. And I know those who are making these ugly remarks are, indeed, reveling.

These are people who have such hatred inside them for Rick Warren–and faith in general–that they have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike him when he is at his weakest. They are possessed by such a loathing for him that it didn’t matter that the opportunity seized was such a tragic one.

Hatred is the fruit of fear. These people making such abhorrent comments are filled with fear. Whether they fear death; the possibility if infinite nothingness; or the power of faith to transform lives; Rick Warren has become the person at whom they can temporarily expel their fear in the form of angry words. Very few of these people would ever say to Warren’s face the things they have written; but the internet offers anonymity that allows them to hide behind a keyboard.

I may not agree with Rick Warren on many aspects of his faith; you may not agree with him at all; but this is not a time for disagreement. This is a time for comfort, and faith; love, and kindness. The people pouring hatred on Warren are killing their own spirit by consuming hot coals; they are poisoning themselves, and loving every minute of it. What they don’t know is that this hot poison will destroy them.

The Devil loves to pretend to be what he is not. Those who preach tolerance, but practice hatred possess Satan’s heart.

Haters will always be miserable, chronically malcontent people…

  • richeyrich

These people are the devil’s spawn. Evil. They know not what they are saying, as Jesus himself said. They will know the truth one day and it could quite possibly be way to late for them to change their minds.

Beyond sick. How can people sink so low?

I THINK WE ARE GOING TO SEE AN INCREASE IN MENTAL PROBLEMS AND DRUG USE AND SUICIDE.
WE SHOULD TRY AND GET AHEAD OF THE CURVE. I’LL TAKE MY CHANCES WITH ONE WHO DIED FOR ME SO THAT I COULD BE SPIRITUALLY FREE. FIVE MINUTES WITH GOD BEATS $500.00 FOR A SHRINK WHO IS CRAZIER THAN ME AND NEEDS GOD ALSO.
THERE ARE MORE FRIENDS OF ISRAEL IN POSSUM TROT, KENTUCKY THAN IN NEW YORK CITY. INDIFFERENCE IS A CARDINAL SIN. AS IS UNDERMINING THE US MILTARY BY ATTACKING THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. THE COMMUNISTS WHO INFILTRATED THE PENTAGOON SHOULD BE MADE TO CRAWL ON THEIR BELLY TO EVERY ROMAN CATHOLIC MILITARY CROSS STARTING WITH THE USA AND BEG FOR FORGIVENESS. THEN CRAWL TO TARAWA, ANZIO, ARCHANGEL IN RUSSIA, NORMANDY, SHILOAH AND ADD YOUR FAVORITE WAR ZONE HERE. THE BERLIN WALL CAME DOWN AND THE COMMUNIST AIDS VIRUS WAS DEFEATED, BUT IT ONLY MUTATED INTO A NEW AND MORE DEADLY FORM. NOW IT AMONG US IN COMMUNIST POCKETS OF DESTRUCTION LIKE COLUMBIA, HARVARD, HOLLYWOOD AND THE NEW SOVIET GOVERNMENT OF OBAMA BIN LADEN.45% OF THE US MILITARY IS FEMINIZED. PATRIOTISM IS NOW CONSIDERED ANTI AMERICAN BY THE POLITBORO AND OBAMA CZARS. AS THE CHICAGO GRAND MUFTI SPLITS THE SPOILS OF CONQUEST AMONG THE COMMUNIST CONTROLLED UN. PRAY FOR THE GREAT SATAN STATES AND ASK GOD TO COME BACK AND LEAD US OUT OF DRUG AND MIND SLAVERY.

How dare you spew this venom during this tragedy! Sick doesn’t even come close.

  • loveovercomes

May God look down and place peace in Rick’s family’s hearts and remind them who they are despite the people who criticize them in their time of mourning.  God realizes the pain they are experiencing because he lost His son too.  What love He has for us!

Haters are sad, lonely, depressed people. They will bow to our Lord and Savior, Just a matter of time.

  • DrBillLemoine

As a Christian, I don’t believe the write in his several assertions. There’s no imbedded evil in all of us. Hatred is learned behavior–from parents growing up, from unsavory peers in youth, from bigots and negative types associating with the wrong people as adults. Children are not born with hatred–they learn it from their surroundings.
Hatred isn’t equally distributed either. Many of us are brought up poor, isolated, unlearned, unsociable, irrational–but very few. The world isn’t full of hidden hatred waiting for a trigger to burst forth full bloom. Travel the nation and world as I have and find that most people are not like that at all.
This online hatred isn’t limited to unbelievers, atheists or cultists, but infects Christians and other so-called religious people. But ‘online’ does afford the few haters to spew forth their venom in anonymity, with little fear of contradiction, without retribution by others who could tell them they’re wrong and inhuman, compassionless, heartless, lacking consideration and understanding. Fortunately this target of hate is taught to forgive those subhumans with such feelings in them.
Online blogs could take a hint and require real world information from those who post online. Where are the editors who can enforce rules of decorum and ethics to avoid such filth entering the ether? Reputable online sites don’t permit such vile posts–why not all blogs, newspapers and other publishers? This smacks of the lack of ”correction’  shown by many candidates on the right who never contradict ANYONE with any kind of derogatory comment to their faces. How about a debate last fall with audience members shouting for a sick person to die without healthcare coverage? How about online homophobia and actual hate crimes that go unsolved? How about the overt negative reactions to our one and only president because he is not a WASP? Let’s see some self-policing that observes Constitutional protections to free speech while denying haters the opportunity to ventilate anonymous bile in public.
Let anyone who doubts the online haters existence to go on some of the right wing blogs and make a cogent, factful and contrary comment or sentiment and see the haters emerge online to call them names, label them and revile perfectly sound commentary. We could start with this author who writes self-righteously about haters, but proposes no solutions as I just did. It boggles the mind how much evil is allowed full blown expression in this nation today, that never appeared before, or was quickly put back in the bottle and corked.

    • LFord

DrBillLemoineNo Bible-believing Christian would make the statement that you made (i.e.,”There’s no imbedded evil in all of us.”)
The Bible says: (Mark 7:21, 22):  “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil
thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness,
wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, and evil eye, blasphemy, pride,
foolishness …,” which is the result of the downfall of man in the Garden of Eden at the instigation of Satan.  We are saved from that “original sin” by the Grace of God and the Blood of Jesus Christ.

      • DrBillLemoine

LFord DrBillLemoine You do know, of course, the preceding discussion was about cleanliness and washing before and eating food? Food doesn’t enter the heart but the stomach the scripture says. It doesn’t say bigotry and impure thoughts don’t come from outside the body. Those very evil thought DO come from outside and enter the heart from which they emanate. Those scriptures also explain, if you get the meaning, the understanding, that the ten commandments are are rejected so mankind can follow their traditions. My point above is that people grow up in traditions that accept the vile thoughts considered here. Where do you think the heart gets its influence from? Your biblical knowledge lacks understanding, let alone wisdom which you must request from the Lord.

  • sunnynomore

I think it can be hard to have faith for some if they don’t open their hearts or notice the small miracles that happen in life.

  • rinny1339

Many people committee suicide.  Some are atheists, some are Christians, Jewish,  Muslims (look at the suicide bombers).  As   Christians, we  don’t blame the suicide on their non-belief or other religious beliefs.  Christians are subject to all the travails in life as others and some despair and take their life.  Why do people think that because we try to live by God’s word and as humans often fail that  this is the reason for a suicide?  it makes no sense and only goes to the “Christian Bashing” that has become all too popular in this country.  If a Muslim commits suicide, do the hate monsters com out and blame their religion?  No, because they are afraid of retribution.  Pastor Warren is human and that means flawed as we all are.  Is it his fault his son committed suicide?  There is nothing to support that theory.  We have no details of this young man’s life.  Just because Pastor Warren  preaches the gospel and tries to lead Christians in the word of God, doesn’t mean he can change another human being.  He can only point the way.  That human being makes his own choices.  It’s really pretty disgusting that people would pile on him when he must be in terrible pain.  Every parent who has a child that does this always feel they are to blame in some way.  It’s a natural feeling, but wrong.  Those who are spewing hatred will someday meet their own challenges in life and I hope when they are down someone doesn’t kick them.

  • notassmartastherestofyou

These are the moments to turn the other cheek. Mean-spirited opinions warrant no attention. Its a nice article in defense of the faithful and a mirror for the left, but I doubt the pastor will read a word of it from either side. That’s what makes men of strong faith stronger than the rest of us, and I wouldn’t sell this one short.

  • SueMagario

I am a born again believe in The Lord Jesus Christ.  Rick Warren has hi-jacked the Faith and brought it to a watered down to an  Eastern mystic hodge podge.  He has been appointed the new evangelical leader of the United States without any body batting an eyelash.  Billy Graham and his son, Franklin, have been snubbed by the White House in favor of this man.  That should tell us something.  Dig deeper into Warren’s “spiritual formation” theology and the “emergant church”;  all based on unbiblical thinking.  Just because he wrote a book that has been wildly fawned over does not make him a man filled with the Holy Spirit or a Biblical expert.  Yes Christians are always a target, but he has given Christianity a bad name by luring people towards something that fills empty lives with a false security.

  • EricLarsen

Being a man who lost an older brother to suicide back in the year 2006, i know the deep rooted pain that the Warren Family is experiencing right now. The sudden loss of a loved one is painful enough, but the unwarranted guilt and all the questions why is something that makes the loss even more difficult. The allegations of hate that are coming out are an example of the devil making something even worse, and honestly, if Rick Warren and his wife were not christians, the pain would be be that much more to bear. I pray Romans 8.28 over them right now as the lord gave to me when my brother took his life, that what was intended for harm good would come out of it. I do hope he is reading this right now, as this comes out of my own heart and past life experiences.

  • cajunliberty7

On numerous blogs, on some which portend to be Christian, I read many comments which were filled with words of hate, words of accusation, words of bitterness toward Rick Warren in particular, but some against his wife as well.  Sad people.  Sad people who truly need to get a life.  Sad people who apparently have no heart.  If they disagree on his biblical stand on traditional marriage, so be it.  Take that up with him on a later occasion.  This is a time of grieving.  Express condolences, not hate.
Jesus did say,  Mark 7:21, 22:  “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, and evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness…”  Christians certainly should not have these attributes or behavior, it bad enough that those that do not name the name of Christ have them.
Pastor Warren, I am really sorry for your loss and your pain.  May God bring you healing.
I just heard that a group of doctors and researchers at Tulane has received a grant of some millions of dollars to research a new drug which is highly effective on clinical depression, but also has some severe side effects of an anesthesia.  They are researching how to limit or eliminate the side effects or at least reduce the dosage where it would be effective against clinical depression and not have such extreme side effects.

  • mendasity

No matter what your beliefs the loss of a loved one to suicude is a tragedy no sane human being would even contemplate addressing for any other reason than to express sympathy to the family and friends. Insanity is the fruit of the hatred these “critics” harbor, and hatred the seed of Satan.

  • violator1

Regardless of his professed faith or teachings I for one extend my deepest Sympathy’s to he and his wife for their loss! God’s ways are not ours and he and his wisdom are greatervthan we will ever realize in this mortal life!
We all know the story of Satans challenge to God and thus began the plague on all mankind! God has given each of us a free will to believe or not to believe well I chose the former! Should I be right and the nonbelievers wrong then they are doomed to eternal pain and agony for their deceit! Should they be right and I wrong then I will have lived my life without malice for my brothers and
    sisters!
While fear does invoke unsaviory actions on our parts as imperfect man I do look forward to the opportunity to work my way via Gods will to work my way back toward perfection under the Lordship of his Son and my Savior Jesus Christ!
I make errors in my ways and I give way to my weaknesses due to my failing faith but none be perfect save Jesus Christ who died for my sins and lives for my Salvation and provides itvthroigh his amazing GRACE! May we Glorify his name throughtout all the Earth! AMEN!

  • I Lean

Leave this poor grieving family alone.     It’s awful to loose a son after years of upset and trying to find care and hope.    I wish those that are condemning him never have to endure the agony that he, and his family, are now experiencing.

  • Upaces

What a horrible, heart breaking thing to have happen.  Bless His Heart…..He is going to need all the support he can get.  he is going to go through a horrible time of grieving and needs as much support as possible.
That was his child. I don’t care how old someone gets, they are still a child to the parent(s),,, their hearts.
People CAN BE soooo cruel…at a time like this, he needs all of the love, respect and support he can get.

  • ssh49tn

Just because a person is a Christian, does not mean that life is perfect. The Bible plainly says that ‘it rains on the just, and on the unjust’. Jesus said He’d be with us in our times of trouble, He didn’t say we wouldn’t have any troubles. People who are being so hateful toward Rick, will pay in the end. I don’t agree with a lot of his doctrine, but he still is a child of God, so deserves my respect, love, AND prayers.

  • http://tiny.cc/bostonreaders ounbbl

There are all sorts of hate. One thing sure is that hate has nothing to do with fear. As for Rick, he will surely go on a driven life – of course by ‘purpose’, whatever it is – one thing sure is it has nothing to do with what the Scripture says. As for the believers, our life is not a driven life, but a spirit-guided life.  [Note: not spirit (as vaunted by spiritualists, charismatics, shamanists), but life-quickening God’s Word.]

  • triplestar777

Hate is consuming. I doubt that the haters can even tell you ‘why’ they hate – they just hate. Jesus said of harsh words and treatment to remember that they hated Him first – they did their evil against Him first – they lied and attacked Him first.  These are the days we’re in where people are given over to hate. Their minds are reprobate and delusional.  God even said He would send them strong delusion.  They have double mindedness and the Bible also states that a double minded man is unstable in all of his ways.  So one doesn’t have to worry about the haters and people like this – they will fall into the hands of God one day.  Rick Warren and family will be just fine as long as they hold on to Jesus. My heart goes out to them and I pray that God’s comforting touch will sooth their sorrow.  As for the people trashing them – they will suffer the consequences of God’s wrath.  If not in this life…then most certainly in the next.

“If the World Hates You, know this, that it Hated YAHSHUA before it Hated You…but All These Things They Will Do Unto You for My Names Sake, they Do because they know not HIM Who Sent Me.” John 15:18-21 Count it All Joy Brethren for your Reward Will Be Great in Heaven. And next is the camp and forced labor and starvation. l lost 4 love ones since Feb 2 2012. They are best as l see it. We will all meet again. It is God’s promise. Stan is out to turn us against God. So look at is as a drawing closer to God. Bless he who live by the WORD and keep them.

The “tolerant” people of this world (AKA fricken Liberals) show their true colors when bad things happen to God fearing Christians.  They rejoice in inflicting as much pain and sorrow as they can by throwing salt into a grieving wound but when the shoe is on the other foot, Christians pray for healing and comfort.  These people should be pitied, not hated but as Jesus said, “How much is it worth to love those who love you than to love those who hate and persecute you” ( I’m paraphrasing of course).   May God bless and comfort Rick Warren and his family.  And I pray Matthew has found the peace he was so desperately looking for.

  • Benjie

No because people attended school they acquired Culture. The people who may this king of comments do not deserve, not even a second of our time. They are desperately looking for attention in their deviated minds. I said: “Ignored the ignorants comments for they are looking to a ray of light in their darkness”

Pure belief, trust in, faith, loving God and His words will never fail.  Not religion, not organized mutual self righteous masturbation  but knowing Jesus Christ and His loving words and doing them will never fail.  Rick Warren WILL see his son again, as all of us will, and in the next world, his son will learn valuable lessons on the love, mercy and patience of God, that will be a lesson and help to so many others who did not know God personally, in this life.    WE WILL TAKE WITH US THE FAITH WE GAINED FOR EVER

  • firewater

LOVE, REAL BELIEF and GOD”S WORDS NEVER DIE.  What dies and passes away are all hate, unbelief, sin, disobedience and those who cannot open their hearts to Love.   Love is stronger than death and hell and all their persecutions. Love is God for God is Love.   His truth will reach into the hearts and bless those who love, or will teach the haters in some way to help them

    • http://tiny.cc/bostonreaders ounbbl

firewater Your reading the Bible text reminds me as an example of dyslexic reading and logic. When A is B, it does not mean B is A. Love is NOT God. (Bob Bell – new age love guru may have said that – I’m guessing). If I copy your example, how about saying ‘Love is sex for sex is love’ – or, did I say in reverse?  ;-) BTW can you define ‘love’ as appears in English Bibles?

  • WhiteFalcon

Those who hate the Christian message are those that cannot counter what it says rationally and have to resort to irrationality and hatred because they can’t stand to be wrong. They are not big enough people to be able to admit that they could be wrong and therefore they will never be right because in order to correct your thinking, you have to be able to see that you are wrong.

  • Evermyrtle

Rick Warren is backing the anti-Christ church, Chrislam. He is false Christian.
Jesus says , if  you are not foe me  you are against me, you cannot be for HIM and work with the Chrislam church at the same time. You will go with the church OR  you will go with JESUS CHRIST but not both.

    • Evermyrtle

I do not hate Rick Warren and I sympathize from the bottom of my heart.  When I say “He is not a Christian, I know of his works not what I think. I read reports and because of this tragedy, what he has done against the TRUE CHURCH OF CHRIST IS NOT FORGOTTEN.  Chrislam is a church where both the Koran and the HOLY BIBLE have their place on the  pulpit and because of this tragedy Warren will not be forgiven. He must turn from this evil and repent, then and only then will he be forgiven.
Perhaps this is not the time to bring this up but the truth must be exposed  and what better time that when he is at this lowest point of his life. Perhaps this will lead him to examine himself and find himself wanting. I will be called all kinds of ugly names but so was my SAVIOR and HE was crucified for speaking the truth. If this is what I will get for speaking up for  HIM, so be it.
You may say that I am wanting, too, which will be the truth. I am a sinner and I work on that point every day of my life. I do not work HIM against while I am working for HIM. I am with HIM with every breath, but I fail but not deliberately
I love Rick Warren and will pray for him to give him peace with the loss of his child as well as with his LORD..

    • 4Yahshua

Evermyrtle the pagan name of Jesus Christ is the name of the image (idol) of the Beast (Vatican)! Christianity is Roman Catholocism! Yahshua the Messiah is calling every true Bible believer to COME OUT OF HER! By the grace of Yahweh I did in 1972! You CAN, too! HalleluYah!

      • SandyTrank

4Yahshua Evermyrtle The Beast of Revelation represents ALL false religions and there are many. There is only One Lord One Saviour One Baptism and One Mediator between God and “man.” Doesn’t say Jews only. I know Born Again Jews and they don’t believe what you are saying.

Sounds like these haters are carrying our presidents thoughts and actions. I have never seen such hatred from people as I have since he was elected. Self centered, obnoxious, and at the very least unprofessional seems to rule the day. I know personally that the loss of a child, no matter the age is hard to bear. And to tell that person that his/her faith is not valid is cruel indeed. I do not know this man or his family, but can well understand his grief of the loss of a loved one. May he find peace in this time of trial.

We do NOT hate Rick Warren and all the other pastors teaching the false religion of Christianity. We DO question WHY his son killed himself. Also, if his son had a mental illness since birth, just WHAT was that mental illness? Way too many Christian evangelists have grown children die under mysterious circumstances. Why is that?
There is SALVATION and ETERNAL LIFE NOW by choosing to believe in Yahweh our Heavenly Father and Yahshua His Only Begotten Son, John 3:16, Revelation 14:1 Holy Name Bible
HalleluYah! This ancient transliterated Hebrew word means “Praise ye Yah!”

    • RobertaLFranklin

4Yahshua It is none of your business why Rick Warren’s son killed himself.  The man is dead by his own hand and his parents are grieving. That is all that any person needs to know to console the grieving heart of those family and friends of the Warren family.  Each of us will be touched by death, personally and eternally.  Compassion is at the very heart of the Judaeo-Christian God.  That is why He sent Jesus to die…regardless of whether or not one appreciates another’s doctrine we should have the heart to bestow grace on another’s grief.

      • PegsNo1

        RobertaLFranklin 4Yahshua
Hi, I have no idea why you sent this to me. I have my comment, but it did not revolve around “WHY”

        • RobertaLFranklin

      • 4Yahshua

RobertaLFranklin 4Yahshua , as a parent of a grown son in his mid 40’s who has a severe mental illness called Schizophrenia, it IS my business and YOURS to know what that son’s illness WAS! Too often “mental illness” becomes a cop out for “drug addiction” or other vice. Or. maybe he was upset by his father’s actions. The TRUTH is what Yahweh the Father requires from ALL of us!
To be in “The Lamb’s Book of Life” we must believe on the LAMB of Yahweh Who came in His Name, John 5:43. This is NOT the same as the name of the image (idol) of the Beast (Vatican),
Revelation 13:18 (Greek Diaglott, Free on The Web!) The #666 in Greek = the pagan name of Jesus Christ which contains the MARK of the CROSS, X as in Xmas! These ARE “The Mark of the Beast!” Be sealed NOW in the Names of the Father and Son, Yahweh and Yahshua, Revelation 14:1.

    • texasjo

4Yahshua I suppose this is Jewish?  Well, never fear, Jesus was a Rabbi, and the Apostles were all Jews.  It’s just that they “saw the light,” after Paul went preaching, turning from strict Jew ready and willing and able to kill the “Christians,” even tho they didn’t have that name yet, they were “the followers.”  Maybe, you one day can see the light.

      • 4Yahshua

texasjo 4Yahshua  Oh, and Saul’s name was never changed by the believers. He was not after Christians because they were NOT on the scene until several hundred years LATER, basicly AFTER Constatine. • SandyTrank

4Yahshua texasjo  Believers in Christ existed as He walked this earth. I don’t know where you learned they didn’t appear til several hundred years after. They were first called Christians in Antioch. Read the Book of Acts. Paul was preaching to Gentiles. Peter to Jews and they didn’t live several hundred years. Phoebe carried the scrolls in her garment that Paul wrote to the original Disciples. Christ Himself said the Gospel was to go first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. He also spoke of Sheep He had that they knew not of. Those were Gentiles that would be saved. He is not willing that ANY should perish. That means all of us, He died for ALL; whosoever is what Jesus said. The Scriptures are clear on this, I don’t understand your confusion.

        • texasjo

4Yahshua texasjo Where are you getting this mixed up stuff?  Go to another place, you are in the wrong pew.

        • texasjo

4Yahshua texasjo Well, I’m reading this today, but not after today.  Glad you have it all figured out.  However, Peter and Paul had that little discussion about circumcision, and Paul talked Peter into “yep, this Jesus died for all.”  Whew, didn’t have to be cut to join the believers….And, we can now eat anything we wish, including pork, because the Root of Jesse and the House of David was kept “clean” for the coming of the Lord.

graybuffalo MickeyDavis ‘Live and let live’ is actually not different than ‘(I) live and let (others) die’. ‘Be silent’? I don’t think there is at this time of age any greater sin in us when we choose to stay silent and mind our own business in pursuit of happiness. BTW the phrase ‘in pursuit of happiness’ is a very nice satanic phrase, which crept by deists into the Declaration of Independence (or, is it in the Constitution of our Great Divided States of America?)

My prayers go out to the Warrens on the lost of their son. Rick Warren embraced muslims and created Christum, a  combined faith of christanity and islam, in his church  got in close with Obama and steered to the left and yet it is the left that attack him!

    • Evermyrtle

jalinatx I am sorry to disillusion you. I am neither attacking Rick nor am I  left.  I am a dedicated Conservative Christina.

      • jalinatx

Evermyrtle jalinatx Evermyrtle, I’m sorry did I reply to you or say it was you that was one of those who are attacking Rick Warren? I too am a Conservative Christian and you say you are too so what does that have to do with my comment? Are you playing with a full deck?

  • MARYANN33

I think he is a false teacher and don’t approve of him and have some blame for interviewing Obama without the truth questions. But this is not the time to go after him…But he should be told his sin at the proper time…We are told to confront in person face to face.

    • texasjo

MARYANN33 What?? Are you the Judge now?  And, you have to confront him?  I do not understand your sentence “blame for interviewing Obama without the truth questions.”  What does that mean?  Are you implying that all questions come with the truth, as it modifies questions?  Hmmmmm…better go back to school.  I think Rick Warren is a good teacher.

  • PegsNo1

I completely disagree with Rick Warren and his false statements and interpretations about his personal beliefs regarding Homosexuals and Same Sex marriage. I believe the WORD, not Warren. However the author of this article is absolutely correct in their view of the evil haters attacking him, over and around the death of is son. It is sickening that people are so demented, so evil, but it is no surprise. Since people killed Christ, it is no surprise they make cheap, insensitive, disgusting comments about a plain human man. It is so sad for the Warrens.

  • nannymm

This entire dialogue is upsetting. Rick Warren’s faith is not the issue. This isn’t about Christianity or hypocrisy. It isn’t about left or right. It doesn’t matter what specific mental illness the Warrens’ son suffered from or how long he suffered  from it. What matters is that a young man has tragically died and his family is suffering terribly. If we can’t offer them our support, prayers, positive thoughts, well wishes, or encouraging words, them the only decent thing to do is keep quiet and allow them to grieve in peace. Period.

  • aradatateam

I have lots of problems with Rick Warren but hate is not one of them.  I beleive he is misguided and my prayer is that this tragedy will bring him closer to the Lord and go in the path that he should go. What a horrible thing to lose your son.  Talk about getting your attention.

  • FredBates

These haters speak what is in their mind…It isn’t pretty. Their mouths are like an open grave. They will face a just God, whether they believe in Him or not. They condemn themselves with their own hateful words.

  • MYS77

One thing about evil and the people who embrace it…. it consumes them in the end…. and I guarantee you that at deaths door…. they will seek God and they indeed will know He does exist. Foolish people, wasted lives. I am glad I believe, I am glad I have love not hate, I am glad I am saved, and I am glad that I am going to Heaven to be with my Lord.

    • texasjo

MYS77 They WILL seek God at the end.  There is a choice, and many will repent as they are grabbed down to the netherlands by the evil one.  All you have to say is something like “save me, Jesus, I believe.”  or “Dear God, forgive me.”  I have read about near death going the wrong way and they had a chance to come back and tell this.

      • SilverHairedSaint

        texasjo MYS77
Don’t count on it.  That moment of death can sneak up on one without notice and without time for one to make that eternally important decision as to what  one will do with the free gift offered by Jesus to all who would accept it; and there is also the fact that God will let one harden one’s heart to the point of no return which brings death and eternal agony.

        • SandyTrank

SilverHairedSaint texasjo MYS77 That is all true but the moment of death is only shared by the person who is dying and the Lord of Glory. There is no way we can know what occurred at that time and cannot know with any certainty whether they went up or down. We just have to leave those things in the Hands of our Lord. He alone knows and we won’t until we get there.

There’s no shortage of ignorance and hatred in our great country. We need to allow our Light to shine brightly.

  • SpenceDowns

The Word of God says, “The heart of man is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it” (Jeremiah 17:9). It takes a wicked heart to turn on a man when he is grieving over the loss of a son. But, those who do not know nor believe there is a God regularly erupt in hate when they think it will prove an argument for their unbelief.  The degree of their anger and meanness is quite amazing.  Jesus Christ took the sin of these people upon Himself and died on the cross in order to pay the penalty of that sin, that the sinner might be forgiven, i.e. He had a love for these hateful people that they cannot even begin to understand!  Jesus said something very profound as He hung on the cross: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do!” Hate eventually devours the one who hates, not tnecessarily the person who is hated.  People have hated the Jews for millennia, but the Jews are still here.  On the other hand, I haven’t seen a Hittite, nor a Scythian, nor an Assyrian as such. These people all turned away from God and have gone down in ignominy!  There are many people who will go down the same way!

    • Sunnyblues

SpenceDowns I am glad someone spoke the truth.  Many are so eager to spew and judge instead of forgive and pray for them in their time of need.  So sad.  So unChrist-like.

I am always amazed at the progressive libturds that are all enlightened and superior to a man that is devout and believes in God . If they were really so enlightened they wouldn’t criticize a man for his beliefs . These same libturds only follow what the lame stream media reports , how Christians are potentially the most radical threat to America , does anyone ever hear a lib criticize a muzzie ? Probably not because the muzzie fraud in the white house has his purple lips planted on their ass

    • arizonatoolguy

glen a pen Romans Chapter 1 describes the libturds very well.   beginning about verse 20, I believe.

    • CrackMonkeys4Hire

glen a pen Glen the problem with your statements is that you confirm the thoughts of those who hate God by displaying your own hate and bigotry. Jesus told us to forgive them but your words are not those of Christ. Calling names such as libturds and mussie give you no more credibility than those condemning Rick Warren. Every liberal who reads your words will be convinced that you are evil. Should an opportunity come where the spirit touches their hearts and opens their minds you will have made sure they close tight again fully accomplishing Satan’s plans and desires.  Be a tool for Christ and not of the devil. Love your enemy, pray for them that would despitefully use you. Be an example for Christ and not for Lucifer.

Those of faith who KNOW there is “life after death” on the Other Side understand the Souls of these deniers are cringing at the consequences of their denial. The hatred itself is the struggle the human egos of these creatures are having with their very Souls, it is the inharmonious conflict betwen their Souls and their subconscious instilling fear and uncertainty. In their ignorance they are attacking another but injuring themselves.  Pity them for their immense ignorance and the surprise they will get when they awake on the Other Side.

    • CrackMonkeys4Hire

wishladya Nobody “KNOWS” there is life after death. That is the whole basis and purpose of faith to “Hope” for these things and trust in a loving God that he and his words are true. If you “KNEW” everything then you would have no need for faith. God gives us faith so that we may build our love for him through sincere trust and hoping on his words. If you knew full well the secrets of the universe and the nature of God then you would be fully responsible for your sinful actions. Christ’s atonement works for us because of our faith in him. We are imperfect and subject to human failings and it is these very failings that keep us from the God “for no unclean thing can enter the presence of God” but through our faith in Jesus Christ and our repentance we are forgiven and perfected by his suffering and paying the price that justice demands. So no none of us truly KNOW but we hope and have faith that God will deliver us. As we build our faith we gain that testifying spirit that acts because of our faith.

      • wishladya

CrackMonkeys4Hire wishladya Perhaps YOU don’t know what I know. Leave it at that. You are welcome to believe what you like.  I am not denigrating any of your comments, except to disagree with the ones that imply you or anyone else can “know” what I know.  I’m sorry you don’t know that there is life after death on the Other Side.  I do.  There are various stages of enlightenment to acquire both on this side and when you get to the Other Side.  Thank you for your reply. I pray you will reach that same enlightenment.  We are each entitled to our own beliefs and should never belittle or claim to know more than another.

         http://www.beliefnet.com/News/Home-Page-News-and-Views/rick-warren-and-chrislam.aspx
“The Rev. Rick Warren,” writes the Register’s Jim Hinch, “one
of America’s most influential Christian leaders, has embarked on an
effort to heal divisions between evangelical Christians and Muslims by
partnering with Southern California mosques and proposing a set of
theological principles that includes acknowledging that Christians and
        Muslims worship the same God.”

Unfortunately there are many among us who take any opportunity to be on a person when it down. This is a mark of a rather sick society that is being created by the social progressives in this nation. A comment that it’s always made and is always true is that no parent should have to bury a child. It happens all too often but that doesn’t make it easier. I must confess that I draw total blank when it comes to Rick Warren is but that doesn’t matter he suffered a terrible loss in more ways than one. When I read I gather he is a minister and therefore has studied the gospel and is more than likely aware that there is only one unforgivable sin and unfortunately that is suicide.

Romans 10:9  (we preach) If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”  I’m sure his son followed that admonition.  And Ephesians 2:9-10 says the “By grace you are saved through faith, and that, not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works: lest any man should boast.”
And now, the most beautiful part of God’s love:  The Gospel of John: 10:27-29  take heart, all believers should know this by heart.
10:27ff  “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
This is the believer’s solemn promise from Jesus Christ, Himself.

  • LindaLovesJesus

I am NOT judging the suffering poor young man.  If anyone here does not feel the pain for the young man and his mother, they don’t have the Love of God!
But, the Lord shall NOT be used in the same sentence as Isis (DEVIL)!  When Rick Warren prayed at the inauguration of Obama, he read his prayer loud and clear!  He said in the Name of Jesus Christ and in the name of Isis (DEVIL).
Since then, our country is on a downward spiral!    What does His Word, the Bible say about the FALSE PROPHETS?
The Lord says that ” you shall see the recompense of the wicked”!
A Spiritual Man Judgeth All things, yet he is judged by NO MAN!
I pray that Rick Warren will drop to his knees and ask our LOVING GOD to come into him and sup with him.
I pray that our HOLY GOD will be FEARED and LOVED!  HE DIED FOR ALL MANKIND.  He wants everyone to seek Him and His LOVE!
I pray for his mother that she be comforted.  I pray that his son is with Jesus and that he is NOT suffering desperately anymore!

    • Canadianlady

LindaLovesJesus He didn’t say, “Isis,” (the Egyptian Goddess) he said “Isa,” whom Muslims believe is Jesus, whom they also believe to be only a prophet, not the son of God.

Canadianlady LindaLovesJesus Thank You for correcting me on the spelling, but the Devil = Devil

        • Canadianlady

LindaLovesJesusCanadianlady I agree they’re both evil spirits under the control of Satan; however, they are two ‘separate’ entities.  Isis was an Egyptian Goddess figure; and, Isa is a Palestinian prophet, whom Muslims believe will come to the earth to deny the deity of Jesus Christ.  I wasn’t trying to correct your spelling.  The two evil spirits are separate entities entirely. I believe that Rick Warren–along with many Christians–is being deceived by those who want to look for commonalities among the two groups in order to reduce friction.  Those are good intentions, however misguided.

        • LindaLovesJesus

Canadianlady LindaLovesJesus  I don’t care to focus on evil, nor do I care to learn the names of Egyptian anything.  I spend my time focusing on things that are good and things above.   Rick Warren is a deceiver.  His power comes from satan.  He is NOT misguided, he is a FALSE prophet.   Mam, you are NOT of God!  The Lord does NOT compromise. Yes, I feel the same way that you do about this issue, I have deep compassion for his son and all the personal torment this young man must have gone through and the great and horrible loss the family has experienced.
And, I also feel that Rick Warren went down a wrong road, theologically. I was offended by his speech at the inauguration. And I also felt that obama was using Rick to have his token White Christian Guy with Warren’s huge following. Additionally, I think Warren intentions were good in that he wanted to bring ALL people together in love, and so he introduced and promoted Chrislam. Chrislam is dangerous as it could lead to One World Religion as described in Revelation.
Still, save the in-depth discussions of Warren’s theology for another day.
Today,. we send love and prayers to Rick Warren and his family.

    • 4Yahshua

bkool Yahshua taught that we “sleep” when we die. Lazarus, His friend, was dead FOUR DAYS when He came to him! He told those gathered that he was sleeping. When they did not understand Him, He said that Lazarus was DEAD! John 11:11-14 At death we do not go to Heaven or The Lake of Fire (No ever burning Hell!) We await one of two resurrections. The resurrection of the righteous takes place at Yahshua’s return. SOON!

      • SandyTrank

4Yahshua bkool  Then what do you do with the Apostle Pauls writing that says “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord?”

        • 4Yahshua

SandyTrank 4Yahshua bkool , it appears to me after prayerful study that  the Apostle Saul is consoling us believers with these words. For when we die, the “sleep” that we will be in will be until Yahshua wakes us up! In any case, Yahshua’s words override Saul’s and any other preacher’s!. Blessings and salvation through HIM!

        • SandyTrank

4Yahshua SandyTrank bkool  He didn’t say sleep. He was speaking of the necessity of his presence on earth to teach and equip the people with the Word of God. The Old Testament speaks of sleeping with their fathers when they die but we know that was Abraham’s Bosom. They awaited Christ to come and take them to Heaven which He did. Revelation 7:9-17 speaks of those who died during the Great Tribulation and they are not sleeping, they are in Heaven due to Christ already paying our sin debt saints were able to go to Heaven at death whereas before they could not as the blood of bulls and goats could not take away sin but only cover it but the Blood of Jesus takes it away. They are the Tribulation Saints and in Heaven so I don’t see it the way you do. I think the Apostle Paul meant exactly what he said because Christ had already paid our sin debt. It does however comfort us to know that when we die, we go immediately to be with Him; provided our Faith is anchored in the Sacrifice of Christ on our behalf at Calvary.

They were sealed to protect them and were caught up to God in Chapter 12, while the rest of Israel escaped with God’s help to Petra to be safe from the antichrist. They were sealed in Chapter 7 to protect them from harm from the other Trumpet Judgements. There were 12,000 of each of the 12 tribes but by this time the Church age or time of the Gentiles has concluded with the Rapture and we are already in Heaven. You seem to be caught up the the Hebraic movement or you are Jewish. Either way you are misrepresenting Scripture, God is NO respecter of persons. Saved is saved and all Born Again persons are referred as Saints in the Bible. Pray tell, how far does a Babylonian deity get you? Myrtle is not believing in any such thing. Apparently you don’t know her.

Good article. I do not agree with Rick Warrens theology but I am a Mom and I know how I would feel if I lost one of my children and my heart goes out to him and his family. This has got to be the worst pain they have ever experienced in their lives and I pray the Lord uphold them in this time of deep pain and grief. Only He can heal a heart of pain that reaches such depths. Hopefully they will find all the comfort they need from Him and those around them all the support they need. What a sad situation.

      SandyTrank
Yes, I feel the same way that you do about this issue. I think Rick Warren’s heart is in the right place but don’t agree with his theology either. But, it seems this is a discussion for another time.

Now,  I hope that the Warren family can feel the outpouring of love and prayers people are sending to them.

      • SandyTrank

12graceIt’s too late for that as people are already discussing it. Topics here are thoroughly delved into. I don’t think disrespect is intended by all. There are rude and crude persons on all blogs and this one is no different. Those persons I don’t bother to even read, as I learn who they are I ignore them and don’t even read their posts.

  • DeniseMillerLeopard

Great article.  I know nothing of Rick Warren except that he’s a preacher.  I do know about loosing a child.  We know that he was saved.  We know that we will see him again.  For all of those who don’t believe, ponder this   what if we’re right.  I would rather live as though there is a God then die to find out there isn’t a God than to live as though there isn’t one and die to find out there is a God.  What if…….

The hatred spewed by the left, the gay, the left and the atheist in this case just illustrates their total and blatantly mental condition. They are sic losers, always have been and always will be. The only reason they think they have an audience is because of their “buddy” Obama and the self confessed gay and news people who have embraced the life style of the gays and the atheist. They hate Christians make them feel dirty and guilty and that is why they attack anyone with any Christian morals  —  the gays and the atheist and the radical left are disgusting.

    • 12grace

      saddlebroke75
The very word “tolerance” has come to mean  that we should agree and support those that do not follow the Word. And if we suggest that they do not follow the WORD, then we are guilty of  ‘racism” or other so-called “hate” crimes. The absurdity builds.
The haters of Christ and his followers, know that we have power through the name, word and blood of Jesus, that’s why they seek to take G-d off our money, take him out of the pledge of allegiance,  leave him out of sporting events and wherever else people can acknowledge and praise, HIM.
But, Jesus is coming back and we will prevail.

  • DoctorZ

The ancient prophet Job lost his entire family, wealth, health, and friends yet he endured and loved God and what God stands for.  God’s only Son was nailed to a Cross and died for all of our sins.  No matter what loss a man or woman sustains in this temporal world it is nothing compared to the price our Heavenly Father paid when His beloved Son was crucified on that Cross.  Therefore, any extreme hate being directed towards Pastor Warren, is misdirected.  It only shows hardness of heart against God, and should bring sadness to those of you who are true Believers in Christ.

  • SymposiaChristi

And let’s not forget that USA Today which probably would not allow hateful bigotry to be posted that wasn’t of the ‘correctness’ approved sort, apparently will not or feigns that it cannot screen such comments.  Again if they came as hate filled in other directions, they’d not only screen they’d report to the DOD for investigation and potential thought crime prosecution.  When it is obvious hate of the sort that piles on via funerals, I don’t care if is Fred Phelps or USA Today, or individual bloggers, screening is possible and preferable.

    Suicide is
a societal failure. Unfortunately, it betrays a widespread misunderstanding of
biblical eschatology . . . that seems to permeate much contemporary Christian consciousness.
I believe this misunderstanding of God’s intentions for the human future is
seriously undermining the effectiveness of the people of God in carrying out
his mission in a world of need. The
greatest Promise in the Old Testament is the Words of Love in Hosea 11:9: “I Will
Not Give vent to My Blazing Anger…For I Am God not man, the Holy One of God
Present among you; I Will Not Let the flames consume you.” R.I.P.

Suicide delights the devil and we must all be ever cognizant of the power of darkness prevent in our country and the world, now.  Spiritual Warfare is G-d’s answer to us on this matter.

  • mimimona

First, my heart goes out to Pastor Rick Warren and his family.   May you find peace in your loss.
But I must say – The comments attributing such lacking-sympathy attitudes  to The Left,, etc. are not accurate.  Such is not the general attitude on the left.  All I’ve seen is empathic sympathy, as with so many other persuasions, at such heartbreaking loss.     [If  you have heard comments by some fringe, that is not the general attitude on the left)
Attributing such hateful general attitudes to The Left, etc., is placing a “straw man” and then arguing with it.  And in the process, dehumanizing The Left to make them a target to hate.  Read the beginning of the article:   “Fear of something is at the root of hate for others, and hate within will eventually destroy the hater.” “Hatred is the fruit of fear.”   You are spewing hate yourselves =
Not speaking to everyone who has written.  Most are not spewing hate, but are caring and sad.   Well said to CrackMonkeys4Hire, in speaking to @ glen
But I am speaking specifically to addlebroke75, and raymond59 (the intolerance seems to be coming from your direction), Annie 66 (since the left is comprised of nothing but the haters, you say. Where the heck do you get your info??? More straw man to shoot down.) @rchguns,

    • 12grace

      mimimona
I wouldn’t worry about the left as they have massive representation in high places.
      PS
I do believe that their are many compassionate people on the left and that is largely the way the liberals suck these duped people into the leftist political camp. Example: Many leftist believe that the health care mandate is a good thing because they think ALL people should have access to health care. The compassionate leftists unfortunately have never read the bill and don’t understand that because of the health care mandate millions of Americans will be forced to pay for health Insurance but they will not get the health procedures their doctors deem relevant for them. Imagine going to the store and be forced to buy milk and eggs but when leaving the store a government agent takes the goods you were forced to pay for and gives them to someone that just robbed the store under the name of “Social Justice”.  I feel sorry for compassionate leftists as one day they will wake up and understand that they were used by groups they never knew existed.
      PSS
Digressing.  Compassionate Americans on the left and right, can hopefully come together in love and pray for Rick Warren and his family!

  • unclebarry

First I would like to extend my heart felt sympathy to Mr & Mrs Warren for the sudden and unexpected lose of their son.
I too can not believe the obvious malicious ice- cold insensitivity that schmuck of a so called writer at USA Today actually put down on paper. And as if that weren’t enough his editor Actually allowed it to go to print. Maybe the writer is there editor.
The writer of this article made an interesting observation about those people spewing all that pent up hate and that is; they believe in nothing beyond the here and now.
That’s exactly why they have so much hate inside them. They see no future no salvation for themselves nothing. So maybe that’s how they get to where they are. All they’ve got is now so I may as well do what ever I want to.
For them it doesn’t get any better than this miserable rotten hell of an existence.

amadorn God’s Love :Hosea 11:9: “For I Am God not man, the Holy One of God Present among you; I Will Not Let the flames consume you.”

  • JeffreyLiggens

The author being quoted is not necessarily spewing hatred upon
Rick Warren, as it might appear to some. But rather, their hatred is towards God,
Whom loves Rick Warren. “Satan is the accuser of the brethren”
(Revelation 12:10) So as we see them falsely accusing Rick Warren, we clearly recognize whose voice is speaking. Furthermore, as spoken with the voice of Satan, the author
seeks to deny the very existence of God. His hatred is clearly aimed at God.
Such a word can only come from one who neither loves God, nor acknowledges Him.
What Jesus Christ would say to him among other things is, “It is
impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom
    they do come!” (Luke 17:1)

I have recently begun reading The Purpose Driven Life, written by Rick Warren, and I believe it is the greatest explanation of what every human being on this planet was created for. If it was taught in every school, church, synagogue, and every place of learning, I believe we would be experiencing a taste of what heaven on earth would be like. Reading this book has helped me to understand the Bible more clearly, has strengthened my faith, and has drawn me into a closer and more intimate relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you Rick, for your dedication and faithfulness, I pray that you and your family will continue to be blessed and comforted during these trying and difficult times.  Joseph, a brother in Christ.

ALL who read Warrens books etc should carefully have a reda of that book!

WOWII joefrisicano  Amen wow!! It is always necessary to have our KJV there to check against erroneous translations as well as ANY quotes in a book. Know who those persons are and what they believe. Do not swallow any spiritual food without making sure is is not rotten!

    • SandyTrank

joefrisicano There are many Bible translations used in the book and you will do well to compare to the KJV. We as Christians must be bereans and double check all that we read no matter who has written it. Also the persons quoted in the book. Your soul and mine and for that fact all of us is too precious to not verify all we read as Scriptural. Many translations are not accurate and were written for children and early teens. As adults, we don’t need it watered down. I am not speaking expressly for the Purpose Driven but ALL books by all men as they are men and any one of us can be wrong. Spiritual food has its effects, weather we feast on good or bad. God Bless!

    • jubilee4040

joefrisicano you might also enjoy “deceived on purpose” by warren smith who also loves Jesus and knows a lot more about the false teachings of the new age than most. then you could balance the words of one prophet against those of another, let the prophets speak two or three, or write I suppose.

Praying for the Warren family.  There are many more people that have compassion for the son they lost and the family than those who have such cruel words.  God is with them in their time of need.  We all sorrow but have hope in the one that knows us. I feel sad for people who want to hurt someone in so much pain at this time. My prayer is for those that are sending hurt messages come to know the God of grace and peace.  Jesus died so we might have this grace and peace and love forever.

  • sscannell05

The fact is they hate themselves. They know that their Godless lives are perverted and immoral. The problem is, even in this self hatred and the knowledge that they are wrong, they still want to do as they please with no consequences. We all know the root of crime is envy and jealousy. They want what we have, they hate that we have it and they will do anything to take it or destroy it to bring meaning to their sinful lives. When they see us hard working Christians with our families, the self hate and jealousy festers in them. They will never make the sacrifices it takes to receive these Blessing from God.
This is why they attach Christians and always will. They want what God gives us. So, they will lie, cheat and steal to obtain them. They will point at us and say “Look, we can have those same things without your God” and then like Sodom and Gomorrah, Babylon, Greece and Rome (just to name a few) their petty Godless Empires will crumble and out of the ashes  the Christians will rise and rebuild.
BUT,  BY GOD I AM NOT GOING TO GO WITHOUT A FIGHT!
God helps those who help themselves. Defend your family, your friends and your good neighbours. The Godly will rise as the Godless fall.

Pray for these cruel, deluded people.  It heaps hot coals on their heads.  The Evil One is operating here and has induced these people with his lies and treachery.  Satan knows how this story turns out, and he is working hard to do as much damage as he can before his time is up.  His followers don’t know that he loses in the end.  That’s part of his deceit since he is the father of all lies.
I’ll invoke the Authority given me by Jesus when He deputized me as His ambassador and Soldier:  Hands off of God’s people, you disgusting, lying merchant of pain.  I condemn you and cast you out of this sphere and plan.  Get lost and don’t come back.  You thought you could kill God, you defrauder.  We aren’t going to believe you or anything you do.  Go far, far away and don’t come back!

Even if people disagree with Rick Warren’s ministry doctrines, this is not the appropriate time to bring it up. The Warren family’s hearts must be breaking. Pray for them!

  • http://ni.ck11.tripod.com/ ceknight

The people who say these hateful things have never opened their eyes to see God as he has presented Himself to them daily.
Sometimes, as happened to me in Italy in 1972, God has to intervene in such a way that you know the vision is not a dream but is the intersection of the Divine will and your own existence.  But these people have not had that sort of an experience and so for them God does not exist.
If Rick Warren had not been doing what God had asked him to do, the Devil would not have been working so hard to convince his son that the only thing that his son could contribute was to exit from this world.  I know those feelings, and I know when they come that they come not from a holy source.
I would hope that Pastor Warren would also know that these people are being spoken to by the Holy Spirit and their reactions and hateful words are their resisting the message from God that they are loved.   In their inability to love others it becomes necessary for them to deny the intervention in their lives of a loving God. For if such a God exists, as He DOES, then the individual is all the more condemned when they do not interact with nature and their fellow man lovingly.
So the only way they can have “peace” is to try and make others as miserable as they feel. Sounds like the Devil and his grew knowing their own future condemnation and wanted to bring along as many as possible to hell, by having them reject the supreme gift of a loving God.  So with each hateful statement I would hope that Pastor Warren can gain the comfort that the Holy Spirit is at work, attempting to draw wayward people back to God.  And may we all pray for these people that they will drop their fight against goodness and love and accept God.

I thank God for every pastor and person that stands up against the evil in this world and proclaims what is right and pure and the best way to live, in harmony with God’s laws. This is the path our founding fathers knew was the best way to go.
I pray we follow their direction and return to following the will of God.
Pray for all and pray that the Devil not be successful with encouraging any more people to commit suicide.
    Blessings,
    Charlie

I feel reasonably certain that Mr. Warren doesn’t read 99% of the things written about him or commented about him on news stories. Let alone allow such comments to influence his faith or affect his emotional well being. That being said, haters only hurt themselves by spouting their vitriol.

Each person, whether a “powerful professional” or a personally and/or socially wounded struggler and anyone else in between, comes to God on their own.  The Lord, Who is not only righteous, but full of mercy, is the only one who can judge, and is the only one who knows and can see everything pertaining to our lives, our troubles, our faith, our problems.  Many are wounded in this life by unpredictable factors ~~ other people, environmental issues, seductive hatred and cruelty ~~ as this is not a “perfect world.”  But God sees and understands the “who’s who” and the “what’s what” of everything.  Although humans “think” they judge, only God can judge truly.  He knows those who are His, and they will not be lost.  Our sufferings endure for a night, but “joy comes in the morning.”  Many of us are “doing the best we can” in difficult situations, and it may not look “all that great” to outside observers, but our God “holds us in the palm of his hand.”

    • 12grace

      gkett
I agree with most of what you said. But the part about not judging is not exactly accurate as Christians we have a moral obligation to speak out against those things that are unbiblical. It seems the scripture about “Judge not lest ye be judged” is often taken out of context.

      • gkett

12grace gkett As I understand it, we should definitely “evaluate” to the best of our ability and understanding with regard to God’s word, but judging is different.

      • Evermyrtle

12grace gkett You are right about that and in doing so, in turn we are judged to be the most, unfair judgmental people alive, being judged by those say the do not believe in judging others. What they do not understand is that we must teach and warn against sin as we are led by GOD. HE is the only who will do the final judging and we strive not be held as one who will not “stick his neck out’ in an attempt to bring others to JESUS CHRIST.
        Colossians 1:26-28
        26. Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to HIS saints:
        27. To whom GOD would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST in you, the hope of glory:
        28. Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we my present every man perfect in .JESUS CHRIST

I Thes. 10:23  Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble minded, support the weak be patient toward all men.
We must stand, we cannot worry about hurt feelings but the truth that must be told.

        • gkett

Evermyrtle12gracegkettThe Bible tells us (in Ezekiel 3):

          18  “If
I say to the wicked, You shall surely die, and you do not give him
warning or speak to warn the wicked to turn from his wicked way, to save
his life, the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood
will I require at your hand.
          19  “Yet
if you warn the wicked and he turn not from his wickedness or from his
wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered
          yourself.”  … (and) …

          21  “Nevertheless
if you warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he shall
surely live because he is warned; also you have delivered yourself from
          guilt.”
We have a job now to warn others about sin and things that “miss the mark” in the context of God’s will, also to pray for them, and we’ll be giving testimony at the “judgment”, but God will be the Judge,… at least, this is how I understand it.

If I am right about my faith I will have gained everything! If I am wrong, I will have lost nothing! People of faith with Jesus Christ have a unique relationship. Yes, I agree with you. At some later date, if people want to express distaste for Rick Warren’s “Chrislam” ministry that would be appropriate but not at this terrible time. The family must be torn up and hurting over the tragic loss of their son.

      • Rick Start II

I had a gut reaction to that story and not being a lawyer or the old word Pharisee of the Bible I went with how I personally felt, after all Jesus did say he came to bring The Word to Life which gets complicated no matter how you try to simplify it. Thank you for your words.

  • 12grace

May G-d bless and comfort Rick Warren and his family.

It seems that many of the so-called attacks on  Rick Warren were not due to his Christian faith but his dabbling in the unChristian doctrine of Chrislam, that is, the unholy blending of Christianity and Islam. However, even though many Christians don’t agree with Rick Warren’s questionable ministry, I’m confident that the overwhelmingly majority of Christians  have great compassion for both he and his family over the tragic loss of their son. I am included in that long list of Christians that extend prayer and love to Rick Warren and his family.

12grace UNHOLY indeed, and though I hate the blasphemy, I am not rejoicing in evil.  No christian who is not foolish and ignorant would tolerate Rick’s cult for a minute.  That said, this would be a great time for God to rebuke him and open his eyes to his errors, and show him the frace of salvation, as He did for Saul so long ago!!

I don’t support Rick Warren’s “Chrislim” theology and I believe he was used by obama and his minions but I still have compassion for Warren and his family for the loss of his son. Do you feel the same way?

  • Rick Start II

Sorry for your loss, it must be hard, those who are so carless as to toment you and your wife at this time have no personal honor or pride. That is not bibical, it is fact! Maybe if you prayed for them, they would find the errors in their lives making them so useless. I will Pray for You, Your Wife and Son. That is not something I do often. We do not see what comes next while we are here, it is sad that those poor hatefull individuals have nothing to look forward tool Keep your Faith and hold the Mrs. hugging is good.

If there is no god, then when we die we will all be in the same boat.  However if I am right and you are wrong, there is a God, and I will be saved because of the Blood of Jesus Christ… It will suck to be you.

I pressed like on your comment and it turned to unlike. Yikes!
Those of us that love G-d and have an understanding of Heaven and Hell don’t want anyone to suffer the torments of hell. Personally, it brings tears to my eyes to think of anyone suffering eternity in the excruciating pain and  suffering of hell.

  • DeborahCats

How grateful I am that our Master taught that we must love our enemies, bless them that curse us, do good to them that despitefully use us and persecute us, and pray for them.  Let’s do this with humility, joy, and gratitude to God.  We are also taught to forgive.  I know right now in my life how humbling it is to find that so very difficult when evil is disguised as good.  Let’s turn our attention to our OWN obligations to living the Sermon on the Mount and let go of every rumination that would keep us from fidelity to God, who is Love.

  • http: robertb

As painful as it must be to lose a child, Rick Warren is so grounded in Gods Love and Mercy and Grace that he knows it is the absence of God in those peoples life, who spew bitterness and  hate messages to him and his family  that causes them to be so inclined to be so bitter  These people must live miserable lives that their only pleasure in life is trying to make others as meiserable as they are . Because of his love for God and his security in his love, I would bet that he prays daily for those people who would say hurtful things to him at a time when he is already in such pain. However;  God will comfort him  and the haters will keep on being miserable.

    • jubilee4040

robertb Rick certainly is grounded in something, He will no doubt have peace.  chrislam is full of neat stuff for the tormented soul of the jihadist.

  • aradatateam

Well said.  There is a time for everything and this is not a time for theological discussions. It is a time for grieving and healing.

  • FloridaGirl7

A lot of the comments that I have been seeing are from people that support Gay marriage.  They have accused Rick Warren of killing his son because they felt that the son must have been gay.  These people are indeed evil.  God Bless Rick Warren and his family may they find peace. I know his faith is stronger than words from hatful uninformed perverted people.

  • bigdaano1

Well, is anyone really surprised at the left?
Their behavior is a product of hatred and hatred breeds hatred.
The left needs hatred, uses hatred and feeds off of hatred.
This is the battle we have been given.

  • PrestonCraveyJr

God be gracious to Pastor Warren and his family at this hard spot in their life, lift them up and hold them close and protect them. For the ones who are working for Satan in this matter I also pray that some how You will display Your grace to them before they are eternally lost to their perversions. My prayer is that none will be lost and all will come to faith in our Lord Christ Jesus who is the Savior of this fallen world. God bless

    • texasjo

ColleenFontenot They are “judgers,” like the Pharisees.  We do not know it all.  It is for God to judge, and we shall we judged as we judge.  I would worry a bit, if I were them.

  • Fr. John+

This article (like the man in question) is so bereft of understanding of the God of Israel, and the Israel of God, [ Gal. 6:16] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ [Matt. 1:21], that to be silent in the face of such heresy is impossible!
It was Rick Warren who gave legitimacy to the fallacy of the ‘mega-church’ So. Cal style. His blasphemous ‘Profit-Driven Synagogue of Satan’ made him millions, but couldn’t save a son that was both covenantally cursed for being the offspring of his father’s sins, as well as cursed as Judas was cursed, in committing suicide.
It was Warren who gave LEGITIMACY to the Obamanation, who has continually softened or obliterated the LAW OF GOD in this land, and whose horrific blasphemy of the Church of God, has rendered her inept to even stop America’s candlestick from being removed at this date in her history.
The people who have heaped coals on Rick Warren’s head are fully justified. God is not mocked, and Rick Warren is NOT his ‘prophet.’ He long ago showed he followed a ‘false ‘profit’ -and that, not of God.

    • 12grace

      Fr. John+
I agree with you about Rick Warren’s questionable Christian theology and wrongful influence on America but it seems that there is a better time to express disagreement with his ministry. He and his family JUST lost their son in this terrible tragedy.

@taylorfarmwife t2gunner I’m with you about depression.  Even Mother Teresa had 30 years of “dry” love.  Which to us is depression, but she kept on doing as God willed.  You know, I think the evil one tempts us the most.  When we love God too much, he gets jealous, and the world belongs to him.  But, in the end, we will triumph.  Hang in there.  Let us say a prayer for each other and to alleviate the world of depression.

      • John Detwiler

@t2gunner taylorfarmwife  Hate speach and comments are common with the Social Progressives. They even hate themselves. They hnave no faith and therefore they have no direction. They are jealous of the peace and contentment that those who believe in a God enjoy. Therefore they attempt to distroy and discredit any religion. Unfortunately they are the ones who need understanding. All God fearing people can do is pray for their enlightenment.

        • mimimona

John Detwiler taylorfarmwife This is not true.  I am a progressive (who somehow ended up on this list, but have found it interesting).  I am not filled with hate.  Nor are my friends and associates.  We all care about the world, and other people.  Also, filled with sadness for Pastor Warren, and  his family, his son.. . . . However, by dehumanizing the people you disagree with and placing words in their mouthes, you can set them up as easier to see in a non-real sense.   And for some that means, easier to hate.  Apparently, not you.  Which is good.  But you do not see progressives accurately.  We all care about the world and other people.  We just perceive the world differently.   It is  important for all of  us to look at the positive intent of others, even those with  whom we disagree.

This gave him all the time in the world to become a full blown bi polar patient. With GOD, his family and the doctors working together. he seem sot be well now and off of all medication.

I have experienced a lot of depression also, therefore I know where anyone who is cursed with this ailment is coming from. As a family, we have stood by him and fought the depression for Jase, and he has recovered to the point he is not longer on medication but still has a few bouts and problems, especially with the fact that jobs are so hard to find.We all need prayer and should always remember others in our prayers, as well as for out own problems.
All Christians on this site could join together in prayer for these people without a word to each other, can form a bind of praying  people , so let’s do that.

Evermyrtle t2gunner  slightly off topic but when you mention depression I want to let you know that alot of ailments with symtoms of depression, mood swings, focus problems can be traced back to diet.  I was diagnosed with ADD at age 55 and couldn’t find the right med to fix my brain.  Quite by accident discovered if I cut back on grains, especially breads and pasta, I do much better.  Wheat and gluten are found to cause lots of problems.  I thought it was a bunch of huey until I discovered it for myself.  Hope the info helps.

I hope the millions extorted from the foolish are a great comfort at this time, maybe chrislam has great consolation for the new agers .  Quit feeling sorry for the ones who engineer the destruction of orthodoxy. They as we reap what we sow.  I do not rejoice in wickedness, Rick’s or my own, and it is tragic that a rich young cult member would be so blessed in his heresy that he would choose to end his life, whether he was gay or straight.  If you want more abundant life my dear ones follow the GOD of peace, and do so according to His word, not Rick’s words, and those of His spiritual daddy, Robert (new age) Schuller. PS new age ism’s are just satanism, based in self worship and gratification, the end of which is death, sometimes very pre-mature and self imposed.  If I was the son of such a brutalizer of Truth, I would prefer to kill Him to killing myself, but thats just Me, and I love life.  Surely this tragedy will warrant a personal visit from Rick’s buddy Hussein!

joyinthejourney Hcklbery You  must remember GOD gave us missions and they were not all things that do not seem kind and loving, but are loving, because HE is trying to show us the way to redemption which is not necessarily a kind loving seeming thing. The truth usually is harsh, we don’t want to hear it. HE tells us we must, not maybe but must warn others of wicked acts that they are preforming.
Ezekiel 33:8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity;  but his blood will I require at thine hand.
JESUS CHRIST DIED for standing with GOD teaching us of this same  evil. What more can we HIS people do.I plan to call it just the way GOD leads me to see it and I know I will be put down for that, so let it be. I will listen to GOD not man.

ICKBERY, YOU MAY OBVIOUSLY HAVE AN AX TO GRIND. I FOR ONE WILL STAND WITH JESUS CHRIST. NO OTHER. YOU WANT TO QUOTE SCRIPTURE BUT KNOW NOTHING OF WHAT IT MEANS BY TAKING IT OUT OF CONTEXT. YOU SEE CHRIST PREACHED LOVE, NOT HATE. YOU SEEM TO ENJOY KICKING A MAN WHEN HE IS DOWN……WHEN HE IS MOST VULNERABLE.  I, TOO, DO NOT SUPPORT OUR PRESIDENT NOR HIS POLICIES. I DO NOT SUPPORT THE LIBERALS OR THE PROGRESSIVES OF OUR CONGRESS AND FEEL THAT THE TIME LIMITS FOR MANY OF THEM TO SERVE IN THIS ELECTED POSITION SHOULD BE OVER. BUT YOU I FEAR MORE BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE “TALKING” ABOUT. YOU ARE DANGEROUS, FOR YOU DO NOT SPEAK THE TRUTH, YOU KNOW NOT THE TRUTH, BUT ONCE YOU DO….PERHAPS THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.

    • jubilee4040

charliejoe73 not arguing that God is love, but Jesus preached and lived love united with the Truth.  We err if we assume that love can be apart from Truth.  The Truth is a two edged sword, healing those who believe, and slaying those who refuse it. No hate involved, He laid down his life to haters because He is Love, and that is True.  Since Rick is ouitside the Truth of scripture, no hate here, He will reap what he sows just as you and I do.  You cant pray him out of that. God is not mocked!

HE CAN QUOTE ALL THE SCRIPTURE HE WANTS, BUT HIS CONTEMPT IS INDISPUTABLE. WE LEAVE RICK WARREN FOR GOD TO JUDGE. I FOLLOW CHRIST, NOT KING DAVID WHO SENT A MAN TO WAR THAT DAVID MIGHT LAY WITH HIS WIFE. NO PERSON LEFT BEHIND SHOULD EXPERIENCE WHAT RICK WARREN CAME HOME TO….NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK OF HIS MINISTRY. NO MAN (OR WOMAN) ON THIS EARTH IS PERFECT AND FAR FROM IT.

        • jubilee4040

charliejoe73 jubilee4040 on that one I too may get accused of being lacking in compassion.  If I were to be able to minister to Rick in person, I would seek to bring Jesus to the meeting, and hopefully comfort in so doing, butif Rick or Jesus allowed me libeerty to speak, I would tell him the Truth brutally clearly, and hope he would be granted the grace of repentance. I have no personal anger toward anyone, but enemies of the Cross need to be identified, and their error exposed, lest many be deceived and fall into error and hell.  I do not judge ricks eternal soul, thats Gods jobs as you say, having said that in warning every man of the error of the new age teachings of chrislam and all the rest, rick will be talkled about, and exposed as a false teacher.  Paul would do no less.  and YES, I am sorry for the tragic loss of life, anyone sane is sorry for that, but make no mistake, tragedy touches us all, and we live in a fallen world, and satan is angry at all the people.  I am less perfect than many in so many ways, but I have not nor will I teach millions of sheep to be followers of Dr. OZ, or chrislam, or any other of ricks new age horse s–t.  not cause i’m so smart, and I am, but because of the grace of God and my old KJV.

        • SandyTrank

jubilee4040 charliejoe73 The Cross does offend as Jesus said it would and we would do a great disservice to our Lord and Saviour to do any less than to tell the truth in love. It is not someone’s feelings that are the object, it is the precious soul that Christ died to save. False doctrine is the subtle enemy that lies, deceives and kills the soul. It always comes in on the back of Truth. One who listens and does not verify with their KJV is foolish indeed.

sockettuem jubilee4040 why would an agnostic have any opinion on matters of righteousness through faith in the blood of the sinless Son of God, namely the Lord Jesus Christ, and my righteousness is not of or from me, but it is the Gift I got from the Son of God.  Yes he is I assume sufferring, and I have not nor will I say a word to him about it. My discussion is among those of us who are commenting on what those with a platform have communicated. Sorry you have misunderstood my intentions.  He is messed up according to scriptural dictates, not mine.

        • sockettuem

jubilee4040 sockettuem If you want to attack someone like Warren, who has just lost his son, do not presume to preach to me about righteousness.  If you want to quote biblical passages, try this one: “Let he who is perfect cast the first stone.”  It is people like yourself, the holier than thou self-reghteous and judgmental who spew passages and quotations that merely confirm my agnosticism.  Be gone!

Hcklbery sockettuem jubilee4040 My friend did you know that Jesus came after the old Testament and thru Jesus came Grace, Forgiveness ,Mercy? You have a severe case of legalism. Grace, you may want to ask God the difference between Grace and the law. You can only have one or the other . If you live by the law you will di by the law and there is no salvation in the law.So where will that leave you????

        • jubilee4040

sockettuem jubilee4040 wow must have hit a nerve.  If you can see creation around you and you need me to confirm or not your faith in the Mighty God, you are agnostic, and proud to deny the truth. Meanwhile I am very sorry you think I am attacking rick, I simply know his error, and it angers me, nothing to do with his loss at this time.  The Lordship of Jesus Christ certainly does not have a contingency that has anything to do with whether or not Ii agree with some cult, or not.  Jesus is Creator God, and you cant change that by hating his guts, or by passive unbelief, if thats what an agnostic does.  Will you defend a real christian if the opportunity arises, and it will.  Hey defend the Palin family, they get hate mail all the time, and they are christian!

        • jubilee4040

cmarkie Hcklbery sockettuem jubilee4040 is this directed to me?  help me Jesus. heres the law for you, believe in Jesus and live, believe in any other gospel (per Paul), and be damned.  forgiveness is for those who repent, not for those who dont, if I am in error, God, his Word, and his people will rebuke me, and so I can repent. hallelujah!!

        • sockettuem

jubilee4040 sockettuem Who the hell died and made you the vicar of Christ on earth, oh faultless one?  Me thinks thou dost protest too much!  You, who have no empathy for the grieving, come here and preach your self-serving hate then hide behind your false proclamations of Christian love.  Your God will indeed rebuke you.  If hell exisits, which, most fortunately in your case it probably doesn’t, I suspect their will be special a place reserved for self-serving fakes like you.

        • jubilee4040

sockettuem jubilee4040 now what did I do? just a question here, you sound pre-offended to me, are you gay?

        • sockettuem

jubilee4040 sockettuem No, I am most certainly not gay.  Are you?  Whay would that question even come up in a discussion about your self-righteous, obdurate and insensitive reaction to the death of Warren’s son? Instead of expressing empathy, you go on the attack.  Then make another ad hominem attack because I call you out on that decidedly unchristian behavior.  Is this the best you can do?  Do not judge, or you too will be judged.  For in the same manner you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

        • jubilee4040

sockettuem jubilee4040 here’s the thing, christians know who each other are and can identify each other by the word and the spirit, and of course they love one another as sisters and brothers.  When someone is offended in a christian, no matter what they do or say, without reason , meaning in an unreasonable manner, it is a sure sign of an offence that comes from the dark side so to speak. Say it another way, heathens hate the body of Christ, and are offended they often dont even know why themselves.  they are repelled from christians because of the hateful spirits within them. Many of these demon spirits promote sexual perversiions like gayness . So logically if someone cant love and celebrate christians, they probably aren’t one, and furthermore in this day and age lots of offended and hateful folks are in fact gender confused and this adds to their venom and misunderstanding. I did not accuse you of anything, it waS A SIMPLE QUESTION based on your untoward attitude. As to judging, does someone have to judge in order to judge that someone is supposedly judging?

        • cmarkie

jubilee4040 sockettuem And as Christians, real Christians minister to the heathen remembering that we to were heathens before we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Seems to be a message the Christians are not aware of. Gee, I think the word of God tells us that Love conquers all. Incase any of you do not realize, Jesus was giving us our strategy to win the lost and how to win against evil. Not by slander, hatefulness or even judging. Like it or not Jesus died for Rick  Warren and his family and wants them to be saved and enter THE Kingdom of God ! This is God’s way. Judging is not mentioned nearly as much as Love, wonder why??

    • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy GSpellchecker So attacking a mourning family for the death of the son is OK in your eyes? That’s tolerant?

      • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl Its the freaking internet and Rick Warren has said really stupid things. What did you expect?

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy Todd, you have nicely summed up a major societal problem if the concept of simple human decency is not self-evident to you.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl Would this be like not enacting gun laws right after Sandy Hook?

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl While they could have acted more civil, perhaps, I’d pull no punches but I am less emotional than others.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl I probably wouldn’t say anything at all. He will have his own theology regarding suicide to wrestle with as it is.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl But it surprises you that people he expressed intolerance for would now doing the same to him? Least surprising thing ever.

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy “I am not a Christian” is not intolerant nor were Rick’s beliefs intolerant. Wishing harm because of beliefs is intolerance.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl So his opposition to gay marriage is not intolerant is what you are telling me?

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl Opposing it is not only harmful to the gay community, but also to their children too.

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy No it is not intolerant. It is his belief set based on his faith that he applies to himself.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl By being publicly opposed to gay marriage and supporting laws against it? If he didn’t want to marry a man, fine.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl But he is opposed to others marrying someone of the same sex and he says it publicly.

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy Yes, and people say that they disagree with Christian belief and they say that publicly which is not intolerant either.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl Then why oppose gay marriage at all if he doesn’t want to marry a man? His public support affects others, not just himself.

        • slim_mirokujin

          ThinkingRightBl fmacanadaguy
          Yes. It is intolerant.

        • DeanHayes_1

ThinkingRightBl fmacanadaguy Sorry to jump in but that is exactly intolerance. Both are. True question is the level of intolerance applied

        • DeanHayes_1

ThinkingRightBl Atheists tend to campaign against the intolerance of theism rather than theism itself. fmacanadaguy

        • ThinkingRightBl

DeanHayes_1 fmacanadaguy So Dean, any disagreement with anyone’s belief set is intolerant? No, it is a disagreement.

        • ThinkingRightBl

slim_mirokujin fmacanadaguy Funny – under your contention any disagreement would be a demonstration of intolerance – nonsensical.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 I think he means a belief set that is in direct opposition to other individuals or a group.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl slim_mirokujin I explained. He isn’t applying it to himself unless he wants to marry a gay man and doesn’t.

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy DeanHayes_1 Todd, I understood that. So if someone’s belief set offends me or is critical of my behavior, that is intolerant?

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 What would you call it?

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy DeanHayes_1 A disagreement of philosophy. I have read to Koran and don’t agree with its teachings but respect its followers

        • slim_mirokujin

ThinkingRightBl fmacanadaguy How is it nonsensical? Its more intolerant to argue that civil rights should not apply to everyone.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 And how is that not intolerance?

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 His ‘philosophy’ is based on his interpretation of a religious text and he wants to force others to follow it.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 Not that he wants people to force people to follow his religious text but his particular interpretation of it.

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy DeanHayes_1 I’m lost, how does force others to do anything? All I have heard him say is that is how he reads the bible.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 Is he or is he not a supporter of prop 8 and issued a public statement about it?

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy DeanHayes_1 He did take a personal stand on a ballot matter – is that how we are defining tolerance? http://t.co/dT8Auzmnpl

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 What if we change it from ‘gay’ to ‘african american’ or ‘interracial marriage’, what would you call it then?

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy DeanHayes_1 How about switching drinking wine with ‘gay’ both behaviors where some might object and others find acceptable.

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy DeanHayes_1 Comparing a behavior with skin color or physical attribute makes no sense.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 Wine drinkers are not a minority.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 How is being attracted to the same sex a behavior now? Is being attracted to a different sex a behavior?

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 Gays are a minority and the only objection to homosexuality is a religious one.

        • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl DeanHayes_1 And you are right, it does make no sense. Yet historically religion was used as a justification for it.

        • ThinkingRightBl

fmacanadaguy DeanHayes_1 Of course both are behaviors just like eating, drinking or talking. They are not physical characteristics.

      • fmacanadaguy

ThinkingRightBl Also, you didn’t address the central point. It is possible it will change his faith but doubtful.

      • FelineCatStripe

ThinkingRightBl fmacanadaguy GSpellchecker No. But publicly singling out atheists as the perpetrators is?

        • ThinkingRightBl

FelineCatStripe fmacanadaguy GSpellchecker Fair point and there has definitely been more support from all sides than attack.

        • FelineCatStripe

ThinkingRightBl fmacanadaguy GSpellchecker Which begs the question why you did that in the first place? Hmm

The hatred towards Rick Warren is a misunderstanding of ‘his’ faith and a great intolerance of a different belief.  These people fear Rick Warren for his unwavering faith, something they will never understand.  But hatred and fear will only hurt these people, not Rick or his family.  Faith doesn’t keep bad things from happening to families, it does help them get thru the pain and hurt.  Prayers should not only be said for the Warren family as they work thru their pain but also for the haters.

    • jubilee4040

@canyongal SarahPalinLinks  whats this got to do with sex choices, was this young fellow claimiing to be into the man/boy love scene or some weird thing, I had not heard that from a credible source, or any source for that matter.  In any case I know that anyone who is plagued with gender confusion disorder is under a great load of self doubt, and angst of a hundred kinds, and sadly the suicide and depression numbers are massive.  I personally know of a young man who was targeted by gays to convert him to being gay, they hassled and bothered him continually to allow gay sex, and gay curious sex episodes like fondling genitalia and watching gay porn etc., he got confused and depressed, and flunked out of school and gave his parents grey hair and all of it. very depressing for all involved.  The real problem in this case was that he was not sure whether to be the male or female in the gay relationship, although he tended to be smaller and weaker, he actually is quite assertive in personality.  Sooooo, he physically might look girlish, but mentally he was all boy, thus the confusion when the bull gays wanted him to bend over , so to speak, he was not happy.  They were pushing for oral gratification at least, but he said he did not suck, it sucked to be them etc.  The idea of feeling sexual arousal due to some stimulation seemed ok to him, but he told me, he was never near a girl yet, and the idea of some bull gay shoving you know what up his you know where made him want to puke. I told him he was not gay to start with, and thats why he was not turned on by being analized or oralized or whatever these gays get off on.  Its been 3 years and he is strait so far, and has chosen to avoid the gays entirely, and especially the crazy bulls who pressured him to bend over.  I am concerned that he might be confused into the man/boy, or man baby sex scene, however since gayness seems to be kind of open to the whole spectrum of options.  In any event sexual gratification that is not biblical in expression, is selfish, and will be depressing as it is depraved.  The more depraved you get, the more depressed you get.  Play by the rules and be much less depressed and or posessed, as the case becomes.

Nonsense. The bible says that homosexuality is wrong but it doesn’t say to be hateful to this group of people, in fact, it says that we should love one another. It seems Gay people think Christians hate them but they don’t…
Besides your theological differences, this man JUST lost his son, where is YOUR compassion?

  • mimimona

Yes, that is digressing. . . but I’ll go down that path with you a little.   I think you are operating on a lot of mis-information about the Affordable Care Act.  My husband works in the field of mental health, as director of a crisis agency (crisis: one of the things which is equal opportunity, not left, right, rich or poor).   He and others in the field have in fact studied the bill and are working diligently to prepare for 2014–  for the more complete implementation of the Act.  (Already, part of it is enacted.  eg, no pre-exisiting condition exclusion,  Allowing children to stay on parents’ policy til age 26)   In 2014, Mental health will have parity with physical health; that is a good thing (which you come to now if mental illness is an issue you’ve had to deal with in your family).   Focus will be on wellness, not paying doctors by the procedure, encouraging MORE procedures, whether or not in the pursuit of wellness.   Yes, everyone will need to buy insurance, because a program will not work if people don’t buy insurance until they are sick, they would be having essentially “a free ride”.  There are subsidies to help people buy the insurance THEY choose, if their family’s income is 80,000 or less.
Perhaps as it unfolds  we will see if it is as you anticipate, or as intended by the proponents of it.
I do like agreeing with you that there are compassionate and well-intended people on the left and on the right – and in the middle!

To berate a person in their time of loss is for sure a sign of hard heartedness. As a Christian we know that we are to demonstrate the heart of CHRIST at all times for all people ,saved and unsaved. Jesus died on the CROSS FOR ALL and does not delight when anyone perishes , no not one!!!!! Nor does God tell us to judge .We are to pray for the lost. I will assume that all of the nasty comments are from people that have no relationship with JESUS and therefore do not know any better and therefore are as you are accusing Rick Warren ,ignorant to the TRUTH. A whole lotta specks in those eyes out there. If ou say you are a Christian and post hateful comments then you my friends are clearly not serving Jesus Christ as your God. If you are a Christian start acting like it and pray for lost people and quit embarrassing the Body of Christ .Using scripture to be hateful and ungodly. Even satan used scripture ,against Jesus remember? A true Christian acts like one at all times!!!! He loves the unlovable . ather forgive these people who know not what they do…….Amen

@tohenningson GSpellchecker ThinkingRightBl And what did Jesus do when others did him wrong, or spoke against him ????? If you truly believe in Jesus Christ then you will do as He does not as you think it should be. We are to make Jesus proud that we claim HIM as our savior not stoop to the level of our opponents. If Jesus gave us each back on a daily basis what we deserved we would all be unhappy people….

  • AtheirThanThou

GSpellchecker ThinkingRightBl Check my TL. I sent him a positive message of support. Didn’t make the news.

  • cmarkie

We are to pray for the deceived also. God Himself wishes none to perish . I hate to tell you but we all were sinners ,yes until we accepted Jesus as our Savior and we are to pray for the lost continually. Thinking we are better is pride. Our hearts should be sad when a person is lost,Our Fathers heart is.

    • SandyTrank

cmarkie We are told specifically in Scripture NOT to pray for the dead as they have no hope. The no hope means that our prayers are useless for the dead because all choices for Christ must be done on this side of the grave. We are also told by the Apostle Paul not to be baptized for the dead. Our choice must be on this side of the grave. Not to say the young man is lost. Once we leave this earth, it is between us alone and Jesus. He is either our Saviour or our Judge. That is the case for ALL of us, saved or not. The final outcome of all has to be left in His Hands as we can only guess. He is a God of mercy and sometimes the lost receive Him just before death. I know this because I have had the honor of praying for such persons. If a lost person cried out for Jesus as they are dying to save them and have mercy, I believe He does but we cannot assume we will have the time to do that. Now is the time to make it right before that unexpected time comes.

    • SandyTrank

  • jubilee4040

I dont care what he does with what percent of whatever he gets for being a king of fools.  Yes it is easier to sell a lie than to give the Truth away.  Jealous of the evildoers is unwise, outraged at the error of the false prophets and false shepherds of Gods people. Guilty as charged!  Made money is an interesting appproach, I see extorted kingdom funds from those who seek to purchase the word, when made merchandise of.  Did Paul ever sell a book? did Jesus ever charge for a life giving sermon, or for raising the dead? so some guy fills books with new age horse s–t, and sells them and I am the bad guy!! Well, I need Jesus, and a few honest dollars might help too. you win.

    • cmarkie

jubilee4040 My goodness, the Catholic church charged people for their sins to be forgiven where is all the outrage in that. Selling books is not ungodly. If you check Rick Warrens website as I just did,and see what he believes ,there is nothing new age about what he believes. I was not familiar with him and checked to find out ,If you say you need Jesus well, that is what he believes .So why do you have a problem with him?

      • jubilee4040

cmarkie jubilee4040 glad you asked,  it is in book form, “deceived on purpose”, by warren smith. and sequels. nothing personal w/ rick, just wrong Jesus teaching, which is error and all the rest. give it a look, and learn as I did the perils of the new age MIXED into a form of evangelical pseudo-christianity, in the garb of CHURCH-GROWTH movement.

        • cmarkie

jubilee4040 cmarkie You are being very evasive. And what is your response to the crimes of the largest church in existence. I hardly think another persons idea of what Rick warren is  not good evidence., His statement in what he believes is quite biblical .I am A bible student myself and believe only what the bible says. What does Rick teach about Jesus that is not true. I am not being difficult here but when someone is accused of such a thing the accuser should know the specifics. If Rick has been called by God ,are you aware that God says Do not touch my anointed . If there is wrong teaching then what is it? Even if this man is deceived,we are to pray for him to know the truth. This would be the heart of Jesus that is all thru the New Testament .Hard heartedness is never a sign of a person who knows Jesus. If people know Jesus than compassion on his family would be the sign. Jesus says you know people by their fruits ,hatefulness, judgment, slander ,hardheartedness are not fruits from God ,but from satan. Just saying people should be careful and look at their own hearts and compare to Jesus heart or the Fathers heart.

        • jubilee4040

cmarkie jubilee4040 read the book, and tell me whos evasive, if rick can write a book, so can mr. smith, how do you judge between the two refuse to read the other one. if u are a bible scholar we are wasting our time and you know ricks errors, if you are not but claim to be, then read the book I offered you as full explanation of my points, and you can decide for yourself, do you think robert schuller is right on with biblical orthodoxy? ps, no time today to explore the errors of roman catholicism, many and varied.

        • cmarkie

jubilee4040 cmarkie I am not a bible scholar but I have a relationship with Jesus for 35 years, presently in bible college and director and teacher of  a  children’s Christian organization. I stick with the bible and only what the bible teaches. I stated I am not a Warren follower, I went on his site to see what they believe, there is nothing in his statement that is against God’s word. I asked you what is it that is wrong in his teaching not to be a wise guy but rather to know . If ever there was a time Christians needed to walk in love it is now. I am not for wrong teaching ,I am asking what is he wrong about.

        • SandyTrank

cmarkie jubilee4040 Do you think a preacher of the Gospel should be a member of the CFR or should buddy up with the UN? Research RW’s peace plan and members of the CFR. Those are two of the most ungodly organizations there is.

        • SandyTrank

jubilee4040 BTW I am not catholic as he accused me of being. I am a Christian and I own some of Warren Smiths books and they are awesome! He has been a guest on Frances and Friends over SBN. That is an excellent apologetic program is you haven’t seen it. They deal with so many issues. Debra Dombrowski from Lighthouse Trail has also been a guest on Sister Frances’ program. One thing I love is that she lets her guest’s talk and doesn’t tell them what to say through the entire interview. You can also call in during the live program or send email questions. I have learned so much!

        • jubilee4040

cmarkie jubilee4040 in a nutshell, he teaches new age, specifically that there may be many roads to eternal life, many faiths many religions all as one NEW AGE of enlightenment with christ, master jesus or some other terminology that is not referring to the Lord Jesus Christ of your king james bible, of course he denies this, but does it all anyway.

        • jubilee4040

SandyTrank cmarkie jubilee4040 compare these actions to say for instance Billy Graham, Billy is a man of God.

SandyTrank jubilee4040 Thank God for Frances, thats where I learned of Warren Smith, and more about new age, tho God never let me read Rick warrens stuff, so I never have. have studied portions of it w/ new age emphasis. God bless you SandyTrank

        • SandyTrank

jubilee4040 I wondered if you had actually because of Sister Frances’ program. They are doing catholicism today. The 2 part series will be available soon. I caught just a few minutes of it Thursday night and Brother Mike was speaking about the new pope and I knew I missed a good one! I will have to get the set. I had a friend who was in the church I had just left and the Lord laid her on my heart and I called her and found she was reading it so we did lunch and I began teaching her about it. Some of us take longer but she is out of there too and in a good Bible believing church now. My daughter and her family go there too and I do when I can. I never read it either but I had Warren Smiths book that had the exposition on all the one’s that were quoted. The one was a new age guru with a spirit guide named George and the lady I forget her name was a porn star. It just blew my mind that Christians didn’t see thru it all. Anyway, I got a lot of my education from Sister Frances. I thank God for her too. She does not mince words either and I like her honesty as it is said in love. Although some people that call in don’t think so.  If its Gospel and seems hard or harsh; I find its good to look at what was said and see if I am just viewing it wrong and don’t like being wrong or if I am right or not. I like to be challenged. I teach from my Bible college books in the 3 Bible studies I teach a week. They learn a lot that way. We verify with Scripture and they learn to be bereans.

People ignore God did all He needed to do thru Jesus, it takes knowing the Word of God and what to do with it. It is not just a book to read. No, that was the Scripture that I intend and used it to demonstrate the point that even when life  brings bad or painful things to us, in the end, G-d turns this around for good.
Example: It was tragic that Rick Warren ‘s precious son  died in such a tragic manner and at such a young age but perhaps in time the Warren family will bring the issue of Suicide to the forefront and help millions of hurting people and perhaps those people and their family will get to know Jesus.
Please understand, I am not by any means diminishing the pain  and loss of the Warren family, I am perhaps clumsily saying the perhaps G-d will show a greater purpose in this loss.

        • cmarkie

12grace cmarkie No you are not clumsy. I agree God will always work things out for our good. I am not understanding the reaction about Warren not knowing Jesus. 12grace You re right and Sat hates HIM and his main aim is to destroy JESUS, HE is joined today  by millions of people to fight against HIM and against all HE teaches and all of HIS people.  None of them, even Satan, knows that it is impossible to harm JESUS CHRIST THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD. Right now, in the end days,Satan is raging around the world like  a wild beast, seeing who he can destroy, by turning them against GOD and HIS SON, he has convinced so many foolish  people, who follow him,  that there is no GOD OR JESUS CHRIST.  but yes he knows exactly who JESUS CHRIST is.

        • jubilee4040

SandyTrank cmarkie 12grace you tell em sister! To be a friend of God makes one the enemy of the world, and vice versa. It seems to me that embracing the pagan faiths as tho they were actually not pagan at all is a little too friendly with the world, and in fact is the essential tennant of the new age wich embraces all beliefs as one, and they only exclude Jesus Christ the Lord, and creator -Jesus is a bad guy to the new agers because satan is their lord, and they all know that  our Jesus is not compatible with their false christs, false jesus’, and their mingling of seeds and all other such abominations. If standing up with and for obama is not a clue, what does it take people.  Because some folks love not the Truth, God sends a strong delusion so folks can believe a lie and revel in the deception. Selah!

jubilee4040 SandyTrank cmarkie 12grace Until they see the Cross as they ought and the Atonement of Christ , it will be a struggle for them. As Pastor says often, miserably saved. They have all sorts of ways they achieve victory and almost when they run out of ideas, right on cue the devil sends another feel good fad of some sort. The saddest part of all of it  is It has been there all the time in Christ and they just don’t see it. I have come to know what being “made” free is about. It is often quoted as Jesus “set” me free but the Word says “Made.” If one is unsaved and captive in a jail, they can be released from prison but still not free. To be made free is that one is free no matter where they are. It matters what word you use. All we have is in Him and there is no greater place to be. We just want everyone to have what we have and its not time to be playing church or playing around with the Word. It has to be plain and straight. We do contend for the Faith,  my sister, but we are not contentious!  God Bless!

cmarkie FrankMina Everything that occurs in the life of a Christian is either caused or allowed by God. He controls all satan can do to us. Remember Job??

        • cmarkie

SandyTrank cmarkie FrankMina Jesus took the keys beck from Satan. Jesus put man back in control as Adam was . Satan has become a footstool under the righteous foot, Christians  are the righteousness of God. Jesus made us believers victors not victims. If you are a believer you are blessed and highly favored by God. His word says no weapon formed against you .If we believe that God controls satan  then why so much evil.God defeated Satan on the cross ,thru his burial and resserection. It is up to each believer to use the word of God as God instructs us to. And I say,if any of you would speak to the mountain and say be thou removed, it would obey. The word of God is the weapon we are to use ,but Christians do what they want and blame God for it. Do you think God is allowing abortion. His word clearly says that is murder. The word of God says what we loose in this world will be loosed in the heavens and what we loose in the heavens will be loosed in this world. God does not control satan .He equipped man with the word of God to control satan. , Jesus defeated satan ! But if you don’t think so then satan can keep messing with lives. Like it or not the WORD says the words of your mouth will come to pass. Alot to think about, and when applied it is life changing. God says we are more than conquerers, and I agree with Him.

        • SandyTrank

cmarkie SandyTrank FrankMina  Christ was the Victor, not us. We are only victorious by our Faith in His Finished Work. If we had dominion over this world as you say, things wouldn’t be as they are. God does not approve of abortion, it IS murder; however He is not stopping it, YET, if Christians can do as you say, why are abortions still legal? Why are people still sick? Why don’t you just clear out all the nursing homes and hospitals by speaking the Word of God? Jesus DID defeat Satan but we only have the first fruits of all He bought back at Calvary. Most of it is still future. That is what faith in Him is. If we aren’t careful we can commit sin by having faith in our faith instead of faith in Him. All we receive from Him is because of Calvary, His Finished Work. And yes, He did say It IS Finished! That was our Redemption, the Price was paid for all of Mankind if they will only place their Faith Totally in Him and His Finished Work. Satan is still the god of this world, look around you; this is NOT Heaven. If you think for one minute that God does not have authority over satan, you don’t understand Calvary. We only have victory IN HIM. We have NO strength to fight satan. Good grief man! We are told all about the principalities and spiritual powers in high places. We cannot fight them and win. satan laughs at that stuff. I used to be in the word of faith and it it a false doctrine. Look it up on the net. I hated to hear someone who was suffering that they didn’t get healed because they didn’t have enough faith. That destroys people and they give up. Often times, they lose faith altogether and leave the church. I’ve seen it. It breaks people. Our ONLY Victory is in Him. That is how we walk, in Him. How many times does the Apostle Paul say in Him in Christ impressing upon us that it is ALL in Him we have anything. You need to get your faith back where it belongs. In Him. The same Sacrifice you accepted when you got saved is the same way you walk. Paul says “As you have received Christ Jesus, So walk in Him.” When you finally wear yourself out with this word of faith stuff, come back to the Cross and repent and start over; letting Jesus be your victory, He is you know. For all of us…

        • cmarkie

SandyTrank cmarkie FrankMina  I never once implied that we have anything on our own , everthing is because of what Jesus did .I am not so sure how to take your definition of word stuff, are you aware that Jesus is the word? My faith is totally in Christ ,why would you imply differently ? I don’t think I got nasty with you and I think your response was lacking godliness. If you take away the word of God there is no Jesus, Calvary or God for that matter. You were asked to explain and obviously you can not and became confrontational instead. You must be Catholic because you lack the very basics the word teaches. I truly do know what Paul teaches .I am sorry for you that using the word of God was a challenge, it is exactly what the bible says and you are stating otherwise, another indication you are a misinformed catholic. Jesus used the word of God to defeat Satan,he did not laugh, where do you get such crazy understanding. And as far as people not getting healed because they did not have enough faith is wrong teaching, but the word of God should not be discounted , the word of God never fails,Jesus is the word, a final note it would do you good to read all that Jesus did on the cross, healing was there too.I have believed the word of God for 35 years and it has never let me down .Let the word of God be true and every man a liar, that my dear is straight from God. If you discard the word than you have no salvation. What a scary thought.

        • SandyTrank

cmarkie SandyTrank FrankMina I certainly am NOT catholic, I am a Christian. Read what you wrote again. I answered you. I have been saved as long as you but the length of Salvation doesn’t indicate a knowledge of the Word of God. I know Jesus is the Word. Don’t assume those of us don’t know the Word. Some people it is obvious. Your statements reflect the word of faith teaching. It is 90% of what it on tv today, even higher. You needn’t be scared for me; I know the Lord and like I said, you don’t know the difference between fruit and events in our lives according to what you wrote. I am not like many on this site. I DO know the Word and I don’t mix words. I am painfully honest at times. I can only judge you by what you are saying. Read over your comments and read them as if someone else wrote them….

        • cmarkie

SandyTrank cmarkie FrankMina The  head knowledge of the word is to be understood by the heart, this is called revelation. It means nothing to just know it in your head. I believe you were the one to refer to THE WORD as that word stuff. You are not aware that Jesus is the word. I do not think my understanding is at question. I asked you what Warren was wrong in because I honestly was curious and all you did was slander him. You did not give one bit of information as to his wrong teaching. This man lost his son, compassion is the heart of the Lord and if you really knew the Lord I would not need to explain that.

It took.  I had spinal meningitis, went into coma, intensive care.  I can’t remember what happened, as my friend had to tell me they looked for next of kin.  Here’s what I felt:  I was aware of being unconscious, that’s the first clue.  I seem to fall slowly down and hit bottom.  I thought” am I dead? …where’s the light?”  Then, of course I no longer had the excrudiating pain I had in my head and body..and little splotched of could popped up…ha…then, my parents came to me down a silver cord.  They were beautiful, no pain, in glorified bodies, we see what we imagine, because they were dressed quite nicely in sienna color! They didn’t move their mouths, we communicated tho…I was so very happy and ready to see them and go with them, then they said all was ok over there and the family was there.   I could go or stay, and if I stayed I could pray and tell others to pray and that changes things.  I asked what part of heaven they were, and they smiled, “not for you to know now, but prayer helps those here and those below.”  I said “OK I will go back and tell everyone prayer works.”  When I came back and awoke I was so full of pain, couldn’t see well, nor hear, nor walk, and I regretted it for a moment (or more) , but prayer got me well.

12grace texasjo Thanks, Grace…wonderful name yu have.  Yes, indeed it is true.  More times than once.  I got healed from three deadly diseases, starting at five (scarlet fever), twelve (polio), 64, spinal meningitis.  I remember being lost when I was 7 and asked for God and guardian angel get me home from school.  I had no religious teaching at the time, but knew about God and Jesus from listening to others.  I was “led” home!  Amazing.  My father was in military and I went to 14 schools.  I’m not amazed nothing happened to me on lonely walks home from various new schools.  Today’s children are just not safe.  It is the morals ofthe world collapsing, and I think from TV and seeing things that were not even thought of before.

Thank you for sharing your sweet and amazing expressions of G-d’s love for you, I really enjoy hearing praise stories!  (Smile and mixed with happy, tears.)
I agree with you about children today, I think the parents need to start teaching them at an early age about Spiritual Warfare.

charrison212 I KNOW!!! I got THRASHED & called the devil 4 a prayer request I put 4 Warren & his family by a bunch of CHRISTIANS! WOW! SAD!

    • sockettuem

@Cheri92274 charrison212 Yes, it is sad.  More than that it is evil.  They are pitiful who are so piously certain of their own righteousness they sit in shameless judgment of someone who offers a simple act of human kindness to a grieving family.   Those who denounce your act of  kindness are offensive and loathsome.

      • cmarkie

sockettuem charrison212  Cheri, offering kindness to anyone is a heart of God. These comments from some are an inside look into their hearts.
        They need prayer,big time.

“…Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not
for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.”
    (II Chronicles 19:6)

In the world today, the admonition not to “judge” is
frequently used to place a virtual gag order over those who would
speak up against popular and accepted world practices. Even some
Christians will use a “don’t judge” stance when erroneous
teachings and ministries in the church are examined. In fact, many
false prophets are using Scripture references like “touch
not my anointed” and “do my prophets no harm”
in order to protect their doctrines and actions from exposure. The
word judge has been so perverted that to judge anything is
now considered by many to be anti-Christian behavior, and anyone
who does so is likely to be labeled as an “accuser of the
    brethren.”
     http://www.jesuscult.org/judge.htm

    • cmarkie

12grace Actually, to judge means to attach a motive as to why someone has done something. We are always to measure everything against the WORD OF GOD to know what is right and wrong. Some might try to use touch not my anointed for their own purpose but that does not mean we should ignore God’s position on his anointed.
Even David messed up and yet He still was a man after God’s own heart. When some one is in error God directs us to go to them or to God and to pray for them. It’s the flesh that want’s to do otherwise. .Just human nature.

        cmarkie 12grace
At this time, it seems cruel to me that so many people are focusing on Warren’s theology and not comforting this man and his family that JUST lost their son in such a tragic way. I don’t agree with Warren’s Chrislim theology and I believe he got away from scripture but it brings me no pleasure to see him or his family suffer. My Prayers are with the Warren family!

      • SandyTrank

cmarkie 12grace  We are admonished in the Scriptures to judge the “fruit” of others. Nobody can know the heart but God. Jesus told us a good tree produces good fruit and all Christians should recognize bad fruit when they encounter it.

        • cmarkie

SandyTrank cmarkie 12grace  Absolutley, but because a tragedy happens in ones life does not mean they are bearing bad fruit. David Wilkerson was a mighty man of God and his life was taken in a car crash . This was a tragedy and yet not bearing bad fruit.

        • SandyTrank

cmarkie SandyTrank 12grace You do not know what Fruit of the Spirit is. Read Matthew 7:16-20 and John 15:2-4,16 and Galatians 5:9. You need to understand the difference between fruit and events in ones life. They are not the same. After reading those passages you should know.

        • cmarkie

SandyTrank cmarkie 12grace I do understand The Fruit of the Spirit, I was using examples to show you the difference. Sorry , guess you didn’t get it.

        • cmarkie

SandyTrank cmarkie 12grace You are trying to be ugly and you succeeded . I am fully aware of the fruits, your heart pretty much reveals you have much to learn. Still wondering why you can not even state one act of Warrens that is not right in God’s eyes. I would think if you were just revealing truth you would just state it. You were asked nice and still can not produce. You play a dangerous game. Scripture is to be used in love, you my friend are lacking in that area..

        • SandyTrank

cmarkie SandyTrank 12grace  Perhaps but what you described is not in any of my Bible College books.

        • SandyTrank

cmarkie SandyTrank 12grace I did all my research myself. I told you where to look, if you are too lazy to find our for yourself I’m not doing any more for you. We are each responsible to learn for ourselves.

        • Evermyrtle

cmarkie SandyTrank 12grace I think that you are deliberately misunderstanding what Sandy is saying. She is only speaking the truth . Just because the truth is not alway nice to look at, it is still the truth that matters. She is not speaking it in any hostile manner but directly, just as the truth should come,  without any beating around the bush.. To lie about it will not make it go away and I know Sandy, she will tell you nothing but  the truth

        • SandyTrank

Evermyrtle cmarkie SandyTrank 12grace  God Bless you, Myrtle! The voice of reason…

        • cmarkie

SandyTrank cmarkie 12grace Again Sandy, The word without Love is void of any good. I am not lazy I only asked you to put up your evidence and all you can give is what a book said and no specifics .I looked up the author of that book and he is an ex new age man. I believe he will need many more years studying the word of God to undue that cult involvement. Bad example to use for slandering another minister. And if love is not in you Bible College books then your school is questionable too. Don’t they use a Bible,it’s a great place to find what I shared with you, but does require a heart to receive.

        • jubilee4040

cmarkie SandyTrank 12grace so a man of God is not a man of God by grace thru faith, but must serve pennance for some period of years, and in Mr. Smiths case he didn’t get born again yesterday you know.  So now you are clean out of the bible, you have altered the requirerments for the new birth, and added your own law to keep a believer under a curse.  Use your head man, the reason God led Warren Smith thru that journey into the new age, and then showed him the light was so he could write his books and warn the Church about new age errors in the mainstream.  Now you knowm, and you will answer to God for your stubborness.  Being stubborn carries no blessing with it. You can go to the grave defending a man, I will go to mine warning and exhorting every man.

        • SandyTrank

cmarkie SandyTrank 12grace  I did give you the Word and I also pointed you in the right direction to find the information we all had to research to find. If you agree that Christianity can dwell in “common” with islam than there is no point in you looking anything up. There is plenty of  reliable information out there lighthousetrailresearch.com that I gave you is one of the best. If you know what new age is, you can see it throughout his writings. He is not an ex. If you take the time to do some research you will find his connection to the UN and that he is a CFR member. Love is telling someone the truth and I did that. And I repeat, what YOU said is NOT in any Bible I have or Bible College books. You twisted the exposition of those Scriptures and that is not what they say. Context is everything. And love is plentiful in my church and Bible College but also taking the initiative and responsibility to look things up. At some point we don’t need to be spoon fed but can handle strong meat

        • SandyTrank

jubilee4040 cmarkie SandyTrank 12grace  Yes, Jubilee the Lord beautifully delivered Warren Smith and his wife from the evil of new age. They lived that thing and are horrified at the thought of anyone else getting caught up in it or thinking it is harmless. It has crept into the church little by little over the years and many people have embraced tenets of it as Christian. Everything seems to go by the name of Christian and it is crazy. The Lord dealt with the stubborn ones as well and didn’t He refer to them as “stiffnecked?”

        • cmarkie

SandyTrank jubilee4040 cmarkie 12grace Sandy I think you proved my point ,Warren  smith was won back to the Lord because someone somewhere did not judge him or discount him as people have done to Rick .Someone prayed for that mans eyes to be opened and for his salvation . That is the same we should be doing for Rick Warren and his family, not slaughtering him. Truth sets us free not slander. Hate the lies love the liar.

    • jubilee4040

12grace well said, as I have often exhorted I must judge fruit before being a partaker of the fruit of a ministry. my judgement is not that as used in jurisprudence, to bring judgement to condemn, but rather judgement to discern the nature of the thing, and decide how I must accept or reject it as a part of my fellowship, or spiritual diet or whatever.   If a man or his message is contrary to the sound doctrine of scripture,(yes as a berean I am the judge of that for myself) then he is judged by the word he speaks, and the Word of God does the judging.

      • 12grace

        jubilee4040 12grace
Yes, I understand what you mean. I agree that Christians must be especially careful not to be ensnared by false doctrine or leaders. And the bible is our “gold standard” by which we discern the truth.

    • SandyTrank

12grace  Exactly right. We are to judge righteous judgement. Satan is the author of political correctness. It is his way of shutting up the Gospel to those who need to hear it the most. If we know a certain food contains poison and a person is ready to eat it, would we not warn them? How much more should we warn of the wrath to come from feasting upon poison spiritual food that will damn the soul eternally. We cannot keep silent; Jesus said we cannot hide a candle under a bushel. As the song goes “I just can’t keep it to myself what the Lord has done for me. How that His Precious Blood washed and set me free; I’ve been saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost, that’s what the Lord has done for me.”

Etta—    Brother Warren, I  am so sorry about your son. I know how you feel. I lost my son 6 weeks ago. They said it was sucicide, but we don’t believe it was. He was 48 and a grandfather. He was ill. He had several physical illnesses,, and was depressed. We will never know, you won’t either. I am so sorry, and please give my condolences to all of your family, from someone who is going thru the same thing. God Bless you.

too many people have too much time on their hands and the computer age has destroyed the minds of many. This country is screwed. Whether you agree with a person or not or agree with ones beliefs or not does not mean you have to be an ill spirited un sympathetic ass. If anyone who spewed this hate speech to the Warren family can read this. There will come a day for you that you will wish you could take back all of it. Kindness is free. Regret is everlasting. Just a side note I do not agree with Rick warren on many topics and I cant stand the President of the United States either but I would wish no harm on his family( especially his children.) Yes it would be nice if he just went away but thats another topic. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Warren family. May you find comfort through the love of Christ.

The following comes from the family wisdom collection.
    “The
greatest handicap a human being can have is a rebellious spirit.Rebels reject anyone who does not agree with
    them.They choose their friends from
    other rebels.Their goals are
negative. As a result, they are unable
to use their bodies for any useful purpose. They insist on learning from their own experience, so they do not
benefit from the lessons of history. Some of these lessons are learned at great price. That price could be their death, or the lives
of innocent people who just happen to get in the rebel’s way.”
I also recall another bit of oriental wisdom.  “If you seek revenge, dig two graves.  The second one is for you.”

Rick and Kay, God bless you and keep you through this heart break that will continue for a long time. My wife and I have ten children, four of them have beaten us to heaven. Two died in the ministry and two as babies. The rest of my children reach around the Western Hemisphere in ministry and business. They have given us 29 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. But in my 62 years of ministry, the one I hear about from my critics is a 17 year old granddaughter that has a 8 month old son, and is next month graduating from high school to get married and go on for a life’s work in child care. I have full guardianship of her and she is faithful at church and is my sound tec.  Rick I know your faith is not shaken by the horrible and unkind comments and faithless attacks, there are those that only dwell on the negative and gravel with it hoping to somehow to create a disaster. Love and prayer… Herb Pinney

  • http://pennymatrix.com/funds4life joefrisicano

Dear Brother Herb, You are truly blessed. I appreciate your strong faith and kind words to the Warren family.

  • hrlutz

This is truely a time for learning. Why do people not understand GOD did not call Matthew home,Satan, the Prince of Darkness was the cause of the decision that led him to take his own life. It is a shame that people do not know that GOD wrote his precepts on our hearts while we were yet in the Womb. We are given two paths, one leads to Spirtual life everlasting and one leads to Hell, Fire and damnation. The choice is ours and that is why we must keep the faith..
Pastor Rick Warren certainly is in deep sorrow.Think how he must feel when did he not preceive the torment his son was going through and how he must feel having missed the signs that led to this tragedy.in his own family.
There is no doubt that through his Ministry he has had countless successes and he should be complimented not chastised.
I shall pray for him so he will be comforted by the Holy Ghost. In Christ, Herb Lutz

    • EMilligan

hrlutz My understanding is that Rick and Kay were very aware of their son’s problems, and they had tried for years to help him by enlisting excellent doctors who prescribed and administered various sorts of treatment, but their son would go on and off his prescribed medication and sometimes refuse counseling.  He was a grown man, and there is only so much another person can do.  I’m sure Rick and Kay did all they could to help their son.  I participated in Rick’s parenting class (his DVD release) and have never forgotten his words that as parents, our job is to protect our children “in the storm” not “from the storm.” And may God have mercy on those who are so vitriolic from their own ignorance and prejudice against Christians.

      • gkett

EMilligan hrlutz   In a way, it’s a bittersweet example of only how far parenting can go.  We are parents, and most of us do what feels like our “imperfect” best for the children in our charge ~~ teach them, love them, provide for them, set an example, advise, and protect them from the world’s nasties, etc. ~~ and we pray and hope for the best, balancing our authority with freedom.  But ultimately, they approach what is called an “age of accountability” (which certainly differs from child to child, factoring in developmental problems, abilities, etc), and we face the limits of our abilities to guide, advise, and protect, while they stand more independently to “face the world and its challenges” on their own (“two feet”, or I could say “inner strength”).
Somewhere along the line, through all of this, we come to realize more clearly that “they are His,” and we are the interim parents.  God is the ultimate parent of each one of us.  As much as we love them, God loves them more (and better).  As much as we know them, God knows them more (and better).  God has “knit each one of us together in the womb” and we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” by Him.  We see also, the clever cruelty at work against them/us in this world, the persistent and tenacious work of the enemy of our souls.
Only God will be the ultimate fair and merciful, and righteous Judge of all this.  We “see in part.”  He KNOWS.  We hate satan and his foul works.  God will punish him for eternity, destroy his ugly works, and rescue and redeem and restore every last tidbit that can be rescued.  If He cares for the birds of the air, He cares for Matthew and his family.  God will “do right” by them.
I am the bereaved child of a parent who committed suicide by a firearm.  I am an old person now.  The poignancy and pain of human suffering was early and clearly brought home to me through this, and my own soul suffered and searched long.  The happy answer is that I found God deeply (or God found me!) long ago, and He has been a faithful “parent,” guide and companion ever since.  There IS a sweet story to also tell about “restoration” and ultimately “blessing” that has come with regard to my parent that I missed so much ~~ so, having lived through all sides of this undeniable earthly trauma, I feel I can say that “God is greater, more true, more fair, more marvelous, and more wonderful” than anything we can think or imagine.  His works and His ways are always Good.  We will only see the “confused version” of this on earth, due to the inherent limits of the venue and the pervasive negative spiritual pollution that surrounds us, but when we see as He sees (and does), there will definitely be “joy unspeakable and full of glory.” Amen.

    G. K. Chesterton’s Father Brown says, “No man’s really
any good till he knows how bad he is, or might be; till he’s realized exactly
how much right he has to all this snobbery, and sneering, and talking about
‘criminals,’ as if they were apes in a forest ten thousand miles away … till
he’s squeezed out of his soul the last drop of the oil of the Pharisees; till
his only hope is somehow or other to have captured one criminal, and kept him
safe and sane under his own hat.”

    • SandyTrank

DenisKhan  Sometimes we forget that when we repented of our sin at the foot of the Cross, we understood how UN worthy we are. That humble moment needs to never leave us as we see others in need of the same. We all come the same rich or poor short or tall the Lord Jesus Christ died for us all.

      • freemind

SandyTrank DenisKhan That’s why the Lord warns us not to judge falsely, nor condemn……I’m guilty so I have to repent & ask for forgiveness often! It’s not easy for alot of us, but who said it was supposed to be? Humility is the teachers way in and we run short of that in this society!

        • SandyTrank

freemind SandyTrank DenisKhan  Amen. We need to remember the ground is level at the Cross  and we are all unworthy of His Grace but as beautiful as it is, we want others to have it too. None of us have arrived. Sanctification is a life time process. God Bless you!

        • Evermyrtle

SandyTrank freemind DenisKhan You hit the nail right on the head. It is not that we are against or hate anyone we just want to come to the cross and accept the SAVIOR of the world so that they can reign in heaven forever with HIM. The gift is theirs if only they will accept it, there at the cross, on which HE DIED FOR THEM, AS WELL AS FOR FOR US..

        • Evermyrtle

freemind ,You are right, GOD expects us to judge righteously Some scriptures that will lead us that  way can be found in: Proverbs 18:5;  Matthew 7:1-5 and 15-20; Luke 6:41-45; ; Romans 2:1John7:24. If we follow these rules from HIS WORD we cannot go wrong.

My sincere condolences to Pastor Warren and his family for the loss of their son in such a tragic way.  Sometimes even when you try to reach someone who is hurting so bad they want to destroy themselves, the desire to do the deed is so strong that nothing else can break through to help them.  I pray for the young man to be forgiven by our Lord Jesus and to be there in Heaven with Jesus.  I pray also for Pastor Warren and his family to help them through this horrible crisis and to shut out those deranged, pathetic haters who have nothing better to do than to belittle people in their time of grief and sadness.  Their only source can only come from satan himself, the master liar and hater of anything good and holy.  These people have nothing in their lives to hold onto except the hate that satan puts into their hearts and minds and all they are, are mindless puppets with satan pulling their strings.  We can only pray for these people to one day see the light and cast off the strings of satans fingers and cast him back into the fathomless bottomless pit of despair and fire of destruction from whence he came.  Listen NOT to those who would belittle your sorrow Pastor Warren and know that God is there for you and your family to help pull you through this sad time and to continue to live for yourselves and your sons memories. God Bless you all.

    • sockettuem

dangerousman As I have pointed out in earlier posts, I am not a religious man, but I agree completely with your admonition “Listen not to those who would belittle your sorrow.”  Those who use this tragedy to attack are vile and petty.  My sincere sympathy to the Warren family.

  • RandyPhillips

I am one of those who sent a post expressing regrets at the passing of Rick Warren’s son and I was quite blunt in my post about Rick Warren himself
He’s a con man, and the death of his son should not be  the occasion to enrich or empower the father.  That is why I took the occasion to attack Warren.

    • SandyTrank

RandyPhillips I understand how you feel as there is nothing that gets me fired up more than a man or woman of God teaching a false Gospel. They are souls precious to God and I know it must grieve Him. My heart hurts for the grief they are experiencing right now but I too am adamantly opposed to his false teaching. Sadly all false teachers will have blood on their hands at the Judgement. I too can be blunt and I don’t mean to be mean but sometimes the truth is the truth and there is no other way to say it and it is not easily accepted by a lot of people. We generally delve deeply into topics here and the posts get farther and farther away from the original topic but that is common for all of us having a conversation isn’t it. It always takes different directions.

      • Evermyrtle

SandyTrank RandyPhillips Indeed Sandy, I do feel great sympathy for the Warren family., but this does not change the fact that he was  fake Christian. We cannot change that with our sympathy, we can only pray for their healing both, personal pain as well as HIS rejection of JESUS CHRIST who is grieving for the Warrens, too because of the loss of their son but more for his forsaking of his SAVIOR  in  backing the anti-JESUS CHRIST Chrislam church.
There are no true Christians who hate Rick Warren but are broken hearted because  he is teaching and supporting an anti-CHRIST establishment, the Chrislam church. Those who say we attacking him and hate him ,are those who cannot accept the truth about his work with this evil antichrist church. This church denotes the war going on in the world in these last days against JESUS CHRIST. The anti-CHRIST are very good at what they do, they have established this church and have twisted the truth so well they have thousands who believers who think they are honoring GOD and HIS SON.
I have lost a child, too. I know the pain that they are experiencing, I feel greatly for them and pray that they will see the light before it is too late..

        • SandyTrank

Evermyrtle I agree Myrtle. My concern is as yours that sympathy will cause people to be more accepting of his false doctrine on their “feelings.” He is a new ager and has even delved deeper into the political realm even joining the CFR and has been very friendly to the UN, to the point of cozying up to muslims finding “common ground” and facilitating their peace plan with a little “religion” to make it more palatable. The enemy of our souls has been very subtle as he slowly brought the church to the “politically correct” position. Some can’t see the difference between that and kindness. Honesty and truth is always far better and when it comes to the final eternal destiny of one’s soul, it has to be Truth and nothing less.

        • cmarkie

Evermyrtle SandyTrank RandyPhillips If a persons eyes are focused on Jesus they will not be swayed to false teaching due to having compassion for a lost sole. If  this man is not preaching the truth he needs prayers to turn him back to the truth. Paul was crucifying Christians, are you saying God made a mistake in using him? You were turned from your heathen state, I was and others ,what if people did not pray and witness to us .Seems to me following what God tells us thru the Bible to do you are disagreeing with.

      • http://pennymatrix.com/funds4life joefrisicano

SandyTrank RandyPhillips Randy, I personally find your comments to be arrogant, offensive, and idiotic. Who or what gives you the right to attack, be fired up, blunt, and judgmental, especially when your theology and reasoning makes about as much sense as a thumb tack without a pin?

bemo234 I don’t really know exactly what you are saying; is it that you promote putting the Koran on a pulpit with GOD’S HOLY WORD in a Chrislam church and that is good? If so explain how putting this book of evil beside GOD’S WORD can possible be good, it should not be even allowed in HIS HOUSE! Warren in into this church “big time”I don’t think think the “face” will tell you much, you must look into the heart of the thing.

Do any of you realize that as Christians we are to pray for the false teachers also????? I am so disappointed to read comments from people who appear to be Christians but do not understand what our calling is here in this ungodly world. If we do not pray for Salvation for he false teachers too, then they will be able keep deceiving more people. They are no different than praying for any other lost sole. This is the will of the Father. Did Jesus go among sinners?? How is it that Satan can keep the Body of Christ so blinded? To find any kind of happiness or they deserve it attitude is not the heart of God. I am sorry to inform you but this world is so far away from God because WE the Church have failed to go out and tell the world the truth we have not done our part .If  all of you are so appalled at Warrens teaching why don’t you pray for him not to be deceived??? Or don’t you know the power of prayer! Christians want to judge , for what purpose, how does this Glorify God. Do any of you know to be heartless to anyone in time of tragedy is not the Heart of the Father. We are living in a fallen world ,they are lost and God has commissioned us to be part of that solution .And it is not by being self righteous!!!

    • Evermyrtle

cmarkie  a WONDERFUL POST, Markie! Here are some scriptures which back up what you are saying. Many times when we go wrong in our teachings, I think we are seeking glory and recognition for ourselves rather than for GOD and HIS SON. Rick has become very well known around the world for this anti-GOD thing that he is supporting as the WILL OF GOD. WE know that this can be expected by studying HIS WORD.

       Matthew 15:11-14
      11. Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
      12. Then came HIS disciples, and said unt HIM, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offendded, after thy heard this saying?
      13. But HE answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly FATHER hath not planted shall be rooted up.

       14. :Let them alien: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
      Titus 1:15-16
      15. Unto the pure all things are pure but unto them that ae defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their ind and conscience is defiled.
      16. They profess that they know GOD; but in works they deny HIM, being abdominal, and disobedient, and every good work reprobate.

GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU STRIVE TO LIVE FOR HIM

Evermyrtle cmarkie  Evermyrtle, I don’t know what you’re talking about Rick Warren being anti-God, and I hope you are not in agreement with that Markie. My comment on what you were saying was in reference to the substance of your comment that I appreciated, certainly not inferring that Rick is a false teacher.
I cannot imagine anyone reading “The Purpose Driven Life” and ever getting the impression that Rick is anti-God or consider his teachings as being off the wall. I believe this man has received divine inspiration to produce one of the greatest literary works of instruction to help the body of Christ to understand why we are here, what is our purpose, and where we are going. Also, I find his teachings to be helpful in understanding more clearly the Word of God, the Bible, and the revelation of God’s love for humanity.

        • cmarkie

joefrisicano Evermyrtle cmarkie joefrisicano,I am not familiar with what Rick Warren teaches .I went to his website and read what he believes and all statements are according the Bible. However ,many commenters said He is not a teacher of the word of God. My position is as my prior posts state, Christians need to start acting like Christians ,whether he is or is not a Godly teacher should never alter who we are. We are to have a heart like Jesus  regardless. This would mean compassion on this family for their terrible loss, which does not mean we agree with what he teaches. As Christians we are to be different from the world ,set apart, acting different than worldly people would when they do not like someone. That is what Jesus would do. Jesus said” Father forgive them for they know not what they do” . They were torturing and spitting at Him and His heart stayed right ,we are to do the same. I do not know about Ricks position with our Lord,it does not matter,as Christians we should not be hard hearted towards anyone, we are warned about the end time mens hearts would grow wax hard. Sorry if I appeared to agree with them, I was not ,again I am not familiar with his teachings but either way it is not acceptable to slander and claim to know Jesus!!!

        • Evermyrtle

joefrisicano Evermyrtle cmarkie What I am talking about is that I do not believe not for one instant that MY SAVIOR WILL BE COUPLED WITH ISLAM as is represented by the Chrislam church. This is the antichrist talking and trying to force CHRIST and Islam together, IT WILL NOT WORK, NOT IN THIS WORLD WHICH  BELONGS TO HIM AND HIS FATHER, WHO ARE ALSO THE CREATORS.!!!
There is no true Christian who would ever try such a fool thing.

        • Evermyrtle

cmarkie joefrisicano Evermyrtle He backs the Chrislam church. Look it on the internet, it is all there. No Christian will eve go along wit the joining of Chrislam and Christianity. It is a n abomination to GOD and to HIS people.

        • Evermyrtle

joefrisicano Evermyrtle cmarkie Look up Rick Warren on the internet you will find, he up to his eyeballs into the anti- GOD religion, the Chrislam church. I t is no secret! You cannot be a little bit for HIM you have to go all the way. HE will not share with any false religion. To try to connect GOD to Allah is nothing short of insanity, sacrilegious, it is evil!!

        • Evermyrtle

          cmarkie joefrisicano Evermyrtle
Forgiving  is after we turn away from your sin.As long as we refuse to turn away, there will be no forgiveness.
Ezekiel 14: 6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the LORD GOD; repent and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
Mark 1:15 And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of GOD is at hand repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore,k and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the LORD.
Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chaste: be zealous therefore, and repent.
It is not up to us to punish Rick but neither can we take part in his evil choices. On the other hand we cannot see our brother live in sin and not speak of it. To speak up and stand up  against evil is what GOD tells us to do. If we do not do this we are also guilty of his sin.

        • cmarkie

Evermyrtle joefrisicano cmarkie Of course not ,being  a muslim and a Christian is impossible, muslims  deny Jesus as the son of God. However, we are to witness to them ,pray for them to renounce islam and accept Jesus as their Savior. I did not see one post that supported  crislalm. I certainly did not. I think you are misunderstanding, why would Jesus tell us to pray for our enemies ? I would say muslims qualify .

cmarkie joefrisicano Evermyrtle Thanks for clarifying that Markie;   I agree 100% with you.
I personally believe Rick is a true man of God with a tremendous anointing on his life. I am not related to him in any way nor am I compensated for promoting his book, The Purpose Driven Life.
If you ever read it, I think you will agree, why I feel it would be beneficial for every human being on this planet. Be blessed! Joey

Should not His people have the same desire?

        • http://pennymatrix.com/funds4life joefrisicano

Evermyrtle cmarkie joefrisicano   Certainly not to punish you Evermyrtle, nor to take part in them, but could you please let us know what your sins are so that we can speak up of them and therefore not be guilty of your sins with you?!

        • hrlutz

In times when thoughts run as yours are, I think of the time when some of the disciples came to Jesus and said” Master, there are men casting out Devils and they are not one of us”. Jesus replied,”If they are not against us they are for us”. Therefor no mater how the message is delivered it is allright if it is with God.

@Ever Myrtle, there seems to be a real communication challenge for these guys. No matter how simply put, they come back with something totally unrelated and juvenile. It is all ignorance run amok.

        • cmarkie

joefrisicano Evermyrtle cmarkie Absolutely, Jesus wants to see no one go to hell. The muslims are to be ministered to and prayed for just like anyone else. This is not chrislam, this is what the Bible says. Not to be redundant but there are to many self righteous people claiming to be followers of Christ yet there hearts reveal they don’t know Him any better than the muslims do. How is it a  Christian does not know they are to pray for the salvation of the lost?

    • http://pennymatrix.com/funds4life joefrisicano

      cmarkie Excellent comment Markie!

      • cmarkie

joefrisicano cmarkie Thank you, glad to see someone considers what God says!!!

  • hrlutz

I do believe this a good time for me to ask that anyone that does not understand just how bad the Muslim movement is, should find an old  (1940 or ealier) Encyclopedia and read about Mohammed and Muslims.you will be infuriated that our Government has anything to do with that Sect. It makes it very difficult to pray for that enemy. Rember the Bible tells us that “Vengeance is Mine” sayith the Lord!

    • cmarkie

hrlutz If Christians do what God says and relentlessly put the true word of God out in this world we will see the plan of God unfold. Getting mad is a waste of time, God tells us to do all we know to do and stand. Jesus died for the  muslims  too .What  better way to slap Satan in the face then to win Muslims  to our Savior Jesus Christ. We are in  a war folks and the battle belongs to the Lord, let’s fight it His way….

    • SandyTrank

hrlutz I know what you mean. What has helped me tho is finding some truly Born Again, escaped from islam, persons. When I was first saved, like most people, went thru the self righteous stage where I would see people doing things and think, man I didn’t even do that when I was unsaved and my attitude was quickly put in check by the Lord and every time I would be about to think because He knows before we even think it, He spoke to my heart saying “I died for them too.” That’s all He said and He did that for a short while until I got it. I know the history and I know for a fact our Founders would have shot them on sight and never would we hear their whining about a Cross on a church offending them and wanting it removed or a  mosque in the site of 9/11. I do a group or blanket prayer for government because they all need it and to take them one by one would take too long and that way it’s easier to avoid being distracted by certain personalities. You are absolutely correct about the muslim history. No group of people have ever been so barbaric or mistreated other humans as they do. I am afraid if I were president, not one of them would enter this country, even to get an education here to go back home and kill Jews and Americans. No religion other than Christianity would be allowed either that would not live in peace and allow others to worship our God. I’m afraid they would think me mean but we’d sure be better off and self sufficient within our own well guarded with real bullets and closed border! I could go on…..

      • dangerousman

SandyTrank hrlutz I like what you are saying, definitely, especially about islam. Keep the faith Sandy, there are alot of us out here that feel the same way and God help those who oppose us when the time comes.  Jesus come Soon.

You can not see the wind but you know it is there.  Also you can not see God but if you have accepted Jesus Christ Your Savior you know God is there.  We don’t know why his son did what he did but I am sure that God did not have anything to do with it.  We need to hold our hands out to the ones left behind and offer up prayers for them.

    • cmarkie

RRMan Amen , spoken like the Heart of our Father and Lord Jesus Christ. Keep sending the message….

  • cmarkie

Sandy, Agaain I tell you you are missing the whole Gospel. I am not in favor of anything that is against MY LORD Jesus or the Bible. Your message is full of judgement and has no love in it. If we do not pray for those who are deceived then us Christians will be a minority Musslims will overtake this world because of self righteous loveless so called Christians that don’t ubderstand the word of God that says PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMIES , if Rick is what you say he is and you really know Jesus then you would do what Jesus himself said to do which is Pray for your enemies and continue to preach the Gospel to everyone. This is God’s instructions not mine.Your eyes are on the enemy and the people that are right and are winners are the ones that keep their eyes on Jesus, the solution not the problem .Again you lack what Jesus said was the most important ,Love.I see you are exaulting you are right, funny I have only written what God himself says in the Bible, so you are telling God you are right and He is wrong. PRIDE AND SELF RIGHTEOUS!!!!! And no ,I am not slow but I would rather be slow than ignorant to the word of God .

    • Evermyrtle

cmarkie  I find the so-called Christian people need badly do a study on judging. It is a badly misunderstood topic. The does not, I mean does not prohibit judging, it prohibits wrong judgment. We must judge to know who are our friends, how to punish and to praise our children. Sandy  is nowhere near perfect, but she has a good level head on her and without doubt she knows good from evil.Anyone who does not know the difference had better get studying  HIS WORD. Even in this you are passing judgment on Sandy, unfair judgment. So anybody who says judge not, period does not know HIS WORD.When you decide to read Matt. 7, don’t stop when you read verse one, read verses 1-5 and15-20.

      • Evermyrtle

cmarkie Another thing, HE never said to be soft and gentle avoiding the truth, the truth is what HE demands and the truth will set you free, is true.We will be hated for telling the truth but to live for GOD we cannot be afraid of people hating us because we tel the truth. If it is not the truth, it is a lie. HIS WORD tell we will be hated by all men, for living for HIM.

        • cmarkie

Evermyrtle cmarkie I never wrote anything but the Truth which is the word of God. I never implied God says to be soft and gentle avoiding truth and I am unsure why you would say such a thing. The truth that the Bible says will set people free is the word of God ,the Gospel of Jesus Christ, ” I am the way the TRUTH and the life”.The truth we will be hated for is the word of God , we are to be good examples as Christians always walking in love that is the word of God.You are missing a very important issue here,if Christians are hateful and judgemental then they are no different from the world, the power that shows the world is the steadfast love Christians show,we hate the sin but love the sinner, this is what Jesus did for you and me. I am not for being soft on ungodliness or false teachers. I know God loves them and Jesus died for them too. As long as they are alive we are to keep praying they will turn away and turn to Jesus. We are to help lead the lost,Paul was killing Christians and do you know what God did? I think you should ponder on that and realize this is God’s ballgame and we need to play it His way, and that would be to minister love at all times and pray as He told us to for our enemies. That is not being soft or avoiding the truth that is God’s clear directions. If you do not agree you need to take it up with the Father , I did not write it God did….

      • cmarkie

Evermyrtle cmarkie  The argument here is that a family has lost their son, sibling grandchild or friend. If Christians need to be instructed the Godly way to respond then the body of Christ is in error.I have give you the word several times and you receive it as being weak. Compassion for anyone and everyone should be a given for those who knows Jesus as their Savior.

        • Evermyrtle

cmarkie Evermyrtle The need for GOD never goes away, if you do not allow HIM in your life, when you are in trouble, that is because you do not know HIM. Rick needs GOD now, most likely most likelymore  than  he never has before. He had best get  right way with HIM, put HIM first in his life , this is where his help will come from. If fact if he pushes GOD off now he won’t be able to make it.
I do not think I need your help with my understanding  of GOD, you need too much help yourself to be able to help someone else. Your self righteousness will not save you. I have lost a child, pain is no new thing for me. I can well understand his pain and his need to get right with GOD. HE will not share  first place in your life.

        • SandyTrank

Evermyrtle Absolutely Myrtle. My Pastor has said if one does not hold to Christ as a drowning man clings to a life saver, they’ll never make it. The Holy Spirit was sent to keep us on the right path and He will if we let Him. We all get off track easily when we refuse to listen to Him. If we refuse to listen, He will just step back and wait until we do and hopefully we won’t wait until its too late. He must be first in all things all the time.

        • cmarkie

Evermyrtle cmarkie Self righteous is being ight in your own thinking, I have only written what the WORD OF GOD says so I think you are mistaken, How would someone be self righteous if thay quote what God says???? And by the way, I teach the word of God and I have for 5 years. The fruit of this is bringing new souls to the Lord. You can critisize all you want, I am very confident in my relationship with Jesus, I am sorry for you loss , a healed heart would have complete compassion for another .I don’t believe you are interested in knowing what God says about Love,or why He tells us to walk in Love. Jane Scroggins posted the best post yet,it’s worth a look if you really are open to he real meaning of Gods love and Grace. God Bless you,I pray you ask God if any of this is true before you reject it. We do not strive to live for Christ when you know His Grace,it is effortless and quite awesome.

I often disagree with Rick Warren on many aspects of his faith but that is his business and God’s  this is no a time for personal disagreements. This is a time for comfort, and faith; love, and kindness. Those who arepouring hatred on Warren are killing their own spirit by consuming hot coals; the poison of hatree and bitterness will destroy them. My prayers are with Rick Warren and I know that Romans 8:28 applies to everyone –especially those who have lost loved ones.

Laramie Kid Thank you for this truth!

  • jubilee4040

everyone seems to be missing the complaint against rick, speaking only for myself, yes it is tragic to lose a life.  Now we’re on a different subject.  The subject at hand is heresy, cult wresting of the scriptures, and false teaching that mixes paganism into the message of the Cross of Christ. When a false prophet arises, and there are many, the real preachers will expose the ERROR of that false teacher, nothing to do with judging him or her, or any hateful thing.  It is simply the function of guarding the flock of God, and warning every man of the errors that are out there.  If someone who touts vast knowledge of theology, but does not see the error of ricks ways, they are in need of the Holy Ghost to be their teacher for a few days.  Do not confuse frankness with judgementalism, or for that matter, do not assume that the Word of God is not a sharp two edged sword, which will mess with your smug self rightous approach to difficult situations which war against the Truth of the Gospel, and the body of Christ.  Remember that the judaizers who so plagued Paul were false teachers inside the realm of the church, meaning they taught christians who listened to them, and allowed them to mislead.  Paul said let those false teachers be ACCURSED. what would Paul say to the false teaching of rick?

    • http://pennymatrix.com/funds4life joefrisicano

    • Evermyrtle

jubilee4040 Very well put jubliee,It is our duty as GOD’S children to teach against false prophets. I am afraid that Rick really thinks he is right.that he does not know that trying to join GOD’S worth with a heathen cult worship is against  the “WILL OF GOD. We are judged harshly for telling the truth. We are told in
Colossians 3:16 Let the WORD OF CHRIST dwell in you richly in all wisdom: teaching and admonishing one another is psalms and hymns and spiritual songssinging with grce in your harts ot eh LORD.

      II Thessalonians 3:13-15
      13. But ye, brethren, be not wear in well doing.
      14. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company wiht him, that he may be ashamed.
      15. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother..
This is what we as Christians try to do. We love Rick and see him going about the worship of our GOD in the wrong way and we want to help him to change and get right with GOD so that he can share paradise with us.

      • RobertaForan

Evermyrtle jubilee4040 If you believe your duty as a child of God is to teach against false prophets, this proves you lack Biblical understanding. Our job is to LOVE others as He first loved us. May the Lord open your eyes to his truth and remove this religious/critical spirit that you are under. I sincerely mean this, I hope you turn and are healed. God bless you.

        • jubilee4040

RobertaForan Evermyrtle jubilee4040 I would not catagorize warning and admonishing believers as teaching against false prophets exactly..  When one points out the nature of a false teaching, one exposes that error primarily by teaching, and reteaching the Truth.  So correct doctrine naturally overshadows false doctrine.  In that process one obviously will identify the source of false teaching, and call that false prophet out for the purpose of exposing that error.  If that person repents of the error , they can be restored to the fellowship of the saints etc. Love, and protecting the saints, or exposing error are not in my view exclusive of one another. Quite the contrary, it is IN LOVE that we speak the Truth, and exhort every man, especially as the day of the Lord draws nearer. Now you accuse me of having a religious and critical spirit, so what are you under when you would correct me?  I am not angry that you would correct me, I probably need it, as do most all of us.  Why when another mans error is far more damaging to the Body of Christ , than my honest , but rough appraisal of ricks heresy, am I so inj need of correction, that some seem to imply that rick does not need.  Well we will have to be agreeable to disagree, because He teaches heresy, while I am critical of that fact.  Thank God for the right to freedom of SPEECH.  All of this emphasis on one big world religion with out sound Christian doctrine, is nothing but new age satanism.  What does rick teach besides that? study noble bereans!

If I am wrong about my duty to teach against false prophets please explain the following verses:
           Ezekiel 3:19- 21
          19. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; thy thou has delivered thy soul
          20. Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin; and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand

           21. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou had delivered thy soul.

jubilee4040 If you truly believe what you profess to believe, hear Jesus himself:  To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:  “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.  The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.  I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’   “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’   “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”  You are no man’s judge.  Not mine, not Warren’s and most assuredly not your own.

        sockettuem jubilee4040 Did you bother to read Matthew 7:1-5 adn15-20. I don’t mean Matt 7:1, but 1-5.
Did you realize that in this post you condemn yourself, you are judging and condemning jubilee, while he is only speaking the  truth, while at the same time is obeying the MASTER when speaking of the evil of trying to promote GOD’S WORD with that of a false  god, one which preaches hate. It cannot be done and if Christians do not speak against this evil “WE WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.”
Did you read my post above which tells us that we need to talk to each other about our sin and gives you the scriptures to back up what we are saying.

sockettuem jubilee4040 No we don’t judge him the Word of God does and those of us who walk after the Spirit of God, do hear from Him. Jesus sent Him to do just exactly that. John chapters 15-17 tells us when Jesus leaves, He wouldn’t leave us alone but the Father would send His Holy Spirit to be with us and to teach and guide us into all Truth so no we don’t Rick Warren the Word of God does.

RICK WARREN SUBJECTED TO EXTREME HATE FOLLOWING SON’SS SUICIDE IS A BALD FACED LIE AND I AM SURPRISED THAT YOU WOULD FALL FOR THAT.  I cannot help but believe this as a fact. This is how the deceived will describing this event. Nobody hate’s Rick Warren for his foolish choices of trying to tie GOD and Allah together BUT WE CERTAINLY HATE THE EVIL OF HIS CHOICE and would so much like to debunk his foolish beliefs. It is by at demand of Lucifer , the dragon, the serpent, that the world is looking at the situation like this, it pleases him very much.

Evermyrtle I’m no discussing Warren’s theology, I’m not that familiar with what he teaches, but when a person loses someone they care about that is when they are the most open to being loved. If you  think he is in error, pray for him or even write him a very, very kind letter of sympathy telling him about the love and forgiveness of Christ. Otherwise lay off of him. He isn’t ignorant of scripture and the Holy Spirit is the only one who can draw any of us, so pray for Rick Warren, don’t bother to condemn him or correct him, that’s God’s job!

      • Evermyrtle

        JaneScroggins Evermyrtle
My outlook as a child of GOD is love all people and help all people in whatever way that you can, if I see they are wrong , I will try to correct it, I will tell them  the truth, that is needed. This is my duty to GOD and people in general. If he were about to walk int the street in front of a car I would do my best to prevent that, I will try to prevent anyone from the fires of the lake which is hell. GOD will not be coupled with Alla (Chrislam which Rick is supporting ) and will do what I can to stop this teaching, not to do so is risking you place in heaven. There is no hate there, only love.

If I don’t tell him he is wrong, I am sinning against GOD and believe that Rick would do the same for me.

You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Luke 6:41-42

        • RobertaForan

Evermyrtle RobertaForan Not judging you…I’m correcting you. However, I am judging your fruit in this matter…and frankly, it stinks. Your statements about Warren are written with malice and slander. if you feel he is in error, then you need to go talk directly to him. But to slander your brother publicly and then try to justify it with scripture is foolishness or witchcraft. Besides the fact you have terrible exegesis, you lack basic understanding of the word, especially God’s grace. Therefore as I stated above….based on scripture you are a plankeye and a hypocrite.

        • Evermyrtle

RobertaForan Evermyrtle  How do the blind lead the blind? I am a sinner who loves and strives every day to live for HIM, I repent every day for my sins but if you cannot see your sins you cannot ask forgiveness, you think you will be justified by falsely accusing others. That will only get you deeper in your sinful state. Better go to GOD and get yourself straightened out before attacking others. If you love people you talk and lead gently not driving viciously, and with a heart full of spite

        • cmarkie

RobertaForan Evermyrtle  This is well said, slandering anyone is not God’s way. The message of Grace is so lacking in these posts. Christ died to save all, for us that are saved we are to keep praying and putting his word out there. God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, loved-,everyone of us that are saved were as much sinners and God’s way was LOVE NOT SLANDER!!!

        • cmarkie

Evermyrtle JaneScroggins You are thinking you can do things in your own way and that is being against God. cmarkie Evermyrtle JaneScroggins RobertaForan No, no You are wrong I can do nothing to save anybody but myself, and then all I can do is accept  JESUS CHRIST AS MY SAVIOR and live according HIS will, HIS WORD  I can work to help others to come to HIM and accept HIM  and that is the limit of what I can do.The only tool that I have to fight for HIM is my mouth, my faith, the truth that HE gives me and my typing ability and I will uses these tools as long as HE gives me the strength and the direction. I ask nobody to read what I write, I just put it there for anybody to read it that  chooses to do so. No, I am a sinner just like the rest of you. I am repentant sinner.

        • RobertaForan

Evermyrtle RobertaForan Well, I guess that explains a lot, you still believe you are a sinner that has to repent daily, rather than an overcomer that understands the finished work of the cross. • jubilee4040

Evermyrtle cmarkie RobertaForan of course the real trick is to find a person involved in error with the humility and teachability necessary to guide them in the Word.  In most cses it takes intercession, and as with Paul almost endless debate IN THE SCRIPTURES, to open the eyes of the hardened of heart. Proverbs admonishes us that FAITHFUL ARE THE WOUNDS OF A FRIEND!  even harsh rebuke motivated by LOVE is preferred above silence in the face of heresy.  In the last days MANY false christs to deceive MANY! Do you believer Jesus came as the Scriptures say to Save and Baptize in the Holy Spirit? What kind of teaching do you do? Is it topical or expository teaching/preaching? Do you think when you are saved you have all you can have from the Holy Spirit? What exactly is the Holy Spirit’s function in your teaching? I think the question of What Jesus came to both do and to teach from Acts 1:1 would say it all don’t you?

Why is it that you cannot say what you want to say without  the spite and malice and name calling. Christians, real Christians do not have to do that, We only state the truth as we see it and allow others read it or not read it, believe it or not to believe, and not not display  this UNGODLY attitude. There is no reason under the sun you have to agree with me. When you such tactics you spoil your entire message. Making fun or ridiculing others just shows you as a bigoted, self righteous wannabe. GOD is watching over you and over me, it is our duty to do HIS business with love in our hearts . You display none of that. I actually can describe your post as a hate attack on what I am trying to do. I unlike you am a sinner, I do not live a perfect life, GOD did not make me perfect as he did you, you must accept that as a fact. I just go along each day doing the best I can with a heart full of love for my GOD and my SAVIOR and for my fellow man. I strive to never be spiteful and mean, but with love and kindness, and yes, sometimes I fail. That is GOD’S will for me and HE forgives me every time that I ask HIM
By the way I am not debating, you are the one who came in with the nasty debating attitude.

It is truly best to follow the instructions of Jesus to go to the man privately–“Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his
fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast
gained thy brother…”  Mat. 18:15 on
A minister friend wrote a letter to Rick Warren some years ago about some grave concerns.  He did not bring them out publicly but rather went to him privately.  That is the method by which Jesus said to do it.  There is almost always a private method of reaching someone, if we really try.  God will usually help us to fulfill His Word and will on the matter. I have learned a few times that a divine delay was experienced because I had not prayed sufficiently for the person yet.
Paul was an apostle, as was Peter.  I am not an apostle, and I don’t think you are either.  There is a difference in office, in authority, in revelation, and an in responsibility.

          cajunliberty7 jubilee4040 RobertaForan Evermyrtle
Several Pastors that I know of tried to speak to him about his error but it fell on deaf ears. Many pastors when confronted with Truth will say that they know and believe that but if they preach that in their church they will lose most of their congregation so in many cases it is money and notoriety that take presidence over the Gospel of Christ. Paul went to Peter privately first and then publicly saying “you are to blame.” It is not just a person of certain authority that the Lord will use to bring correction but even a donkey was used to stop Baalam from cursing Israel. The Truth is the Truth and anyone can do it in the spirit of love and if the one being rebuked is sincere and wise, will receive it in the spirit in which it was given. We can all be wrong and the value of one’s soul is invaluable to the Lord Who died for us so we must all be faith defenders. Proverbs says to rebuke a wise man he will love you and if you rebuke a fool he will hate you. I paraphrase here but the meaning is intact.

cajunliberty7 jubilee4040 RobertaForan Evermyrtle Sorrrrry!  You are far ahead of me in these matters, and I dont feel able to function on that high of a level.  Incidentally how did that private rebuke work for your freind?  I think that if a peerson has failed to repent after the first two rebukes, and he has had more than that, we tell the whole church to disfellowship the offender, and count him as a heathen waiting til the Lord bring him to repentance after satan has tenderized his soul a while. thats my reading of your passage. at my low level of spiritual sensitivity.  If I had a personal matter of fellowship with this man, naturally I could personally resolve that matter between the two of us, if he were willing to hear me.  After a hundred gazillion books to most of the laodiceans, I think this heresy is far beyond a trespass against me. but I am probably wrong again.

        • gkett

cmarkie jubilee4040 RobertaForan Evermyrtle  I think God can exactly locate the sincerity in each person’s heart, and is very willing to work with each one according to their needs, their development, their understanding, and even with regard to the obstacles that have been part of their experience and may be holding them back, as far as any of the rest of us are concerned.  Not many people get an easy road to find fullness “in the spirit,” but face all kinds of challenges as they grow in their Christian development and understanding.  It could be that those who will have overcome some of the greatest obstacles (and things that “didn’t look so right” to others) will ultimately receive a heavenly reward simply for their faith and sincere desire/effort to hold on to God.  Our basic connection to God is not a word-y formula, but a relationship of heart and a spiritual kinship.

        • jubilee4040

gkett cmarkie jubilee4040 RobertaForan Evermyrtle I need clarification, are you saying that sincerity of heart trumps the written Word?

        • SandyTrank

I would hope not. We know He sees our heart and knows our motives but we still must repent of our sin and ask the Lord to save us and be our Lord. It is not automatic as the devils believe and tremble so we see that believing alone is not enough; it is accepting Him as our Saviour. Identification and Substitution. We cannot be Born Again any other way. There has to be a submission and a yielding to Him and His agenda not our own. The Way is a Narrow one for certain. When our faith goes from Him to something else no matter how religious it may be, we are in trouble and commit spiritual adultery as Paul spoke of in Romans 7. If we believe right, we will do right.  There is an old saying “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.”

1Peter 4:18 “And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”
1Corinthians 10:12 “Wherefore let he who thinks he stands, take heed lest he fall.”
If these admonitions are given to the Believers in Christ we had better know how narrow that walk is and be so close to Christ we can hear His Heartbeat.

        • gkett

jubilee4040gkettcmarkieRobertaForanEvermyrtle  The written Word of God, in all its languages and translations (and people will argue over the relative merits of these), is God’s precious gift to us ~~ His Testament(s) to us through which He has revealed both Who He is and His Divine Will, so that we can learn and recognize and choose Him and His Ways (the “narrow path” that leads to salvation) vs satan’s ways (the “broad path” that leads us to destruction and is very evident before us, but we humans need to learn to recognize it for what it is, evil, to be able to rightly shun its offerings, with the help of the Holy Spirit of God).  Spiritual growth will involve co-operation between a willing, desiring, convicted human heart, and the Holy Spirit, based on the work of Salvation done for us on the Cross by Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who came in the flesh to die for us.
Satan’s evil, and man’s disobedience, brought “spiritual darkness” into the human heart (at the Fall and ever since), making it difficult for us to really see and understand things clearly.  After generations of human “lostness,” we have accumulated layers of negative influences that seek to hold onto us and keep us in bondage (these might be called “spiritual strongholds” by some), and there are many versions of these things that affect individuals differently.  For these reasons, even well-intentioned people/Christians may find it hard to see “eye to eye,” as our personal “inherited spiritual influences” are not identical.
So, we can agree to agree that the Word of God is most definitely Truth, and this is the Truth that will “set us free;” also that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and He is the Word that has come to set us free.  The pivotal moment for this was at the time of Christ’s death on the Cross in our place, and some spiritual business/(i.e. warfare) that He took care of before His Resurrection and ascending to His Father.  Even in this little capsulized narrative, it is obvious that there are transactions that go on “behind the scenes” that God knows/knew about very well, but ourselves not so much (unless we learn it from the Word).
Some preachers refer to receiving Salvation, accepting Christ, as “catching the fish,” and the beginning of a longer process.  But “cleaning the fish” takes further “washing with the water of the Word” over time.  This means we can be “saved,” but be in various stages of freedom from some of those oppressive strongholds which don’t want to let go.  At this point, God is really the only one Who can “know us,” our struggles, and the personal path we are on.  As saved individuals, we are all hopefully moving closer and closer to God, our faith and love and understanding are growing.  We “see God” more and more clearly as He is through the knowledge and revelation of His Word, through communing with Him in prayer, through the valiant efforts in spiritual struggles to resist evil and do good, to entering into a “rest and peace” that passes all understanding.
The Bible tells us that some are only lukewarm believers, and this is not pleasing to God.  At this point, I would say that this is where “sincerity of heart” is an important issue.  The Word of God is Truth and Always will be.  Nothing will change that, but the condition of the hearers’ hearts is crucial for their advancement toward Him.
I suppose (just guessing) that a spiritually insincere human heart could be easily self-deceived and tempted to try to manipulate the Word of God for their own purposes, or to take some of God’s Glory for themselves, or just be plain old distracted and self-centered.   God tells us that only He sees and can judge hearts.  He understands exactly what battles and struggles we face, and how much we truly desire Him and to be more like Christ, and He is patient in waiting for the harvest.  However, He will ultimately judge truly and His Word will stand forever.
So, I guess I think they’re both important and work together.

        • gkett

SandyTrank  I’m referring to true sincerity of heart toward God, not “good intentions” of the wandering self-appeasing soul, lost without a compass.
Sincere actually means “without wax.”  In those days, imperfect (broken) pottery was often mended with wax, but of course was not valued nearly as highly as the unbroken pottery “without wax” — the perfect, unbroken vase, without fault.

Sincere is a good compliment, and quite exclusive of wishful thinking and fantasy dreaming.  Sorry that I didn’t make that more clear.  Otherwise, I think we pretty much have said the same thing!

        • gkett

SandyTrank  and by the way,… the pottery was “tested” in fire to see if it was “without wax”/sincere,… because fire would melt the wax and then it would be obvious that it was a cracked vessel,…

        • SandyTrank

gkett SandyTrank  I do too. Interesting about the wax. Where did you find that? A lot of interesting things are found in the Jewish commentary. One thing that surprised me to learn was before the Triumphal Entry of Christ into Jerusalem for Passover I had read many times where He told His Disciples to look for a man carrying a pot of water on his head and didn’t think a lot of it until Pastor told us that men didn’t do that so he would be easy for them to spot. So much to learn and I love the learning as it never ends.

SandyTrank gkett   so true,… years ago, in Bible study, we came across the sincere/”without wax” explanation,… I don’t remember where, or even which language, but “sin-” was connected to “without” and “-cere” was connected to “wax” in their root meanings,…
another teaching we learned, that I loved, was of Christ, the Good Shepherd,… in “real life,” if shepherds found they had an unruly and wandering lamb, early on they would intentionally break one of its legs, and then carry it around on their shoulders, until it was healed and could walk again,… from that point on, this lamb would stay the closest to the Shepherd’s side of all the other sheep,… amazing!

SandyTrankgkettjubilee4040cmarkieRobertaForanEvermyrtle I used to be a tutor (in various subjects, but mostly science), and I found that I often had to “spell things out” as logically and in detail as possible, to really get the point across.  “God is not the author of confusion,” so I know that there is always clarity possible when it comes to God’s Word and His Ways — although as humans, we’ll never see things as clearly as God, in this life, so we need to remain humble and teachable.  If we are truly confused about God, it is a sign that we simply have more to learn:  perhaps through Bible studies, more prayer, even through spiritual warfare, and personal spiritual growth.  It is a lifetime project, but as someone has mentioned, there is also a time for entering into God’s rest:
           1 John 2:12-14
12  “I write to you, little children,
Because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.
13 I write to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
Because you have overcome the wicked one.
I write to you, little children,
Because you have known the Father.
14 I have written to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I have written to you, young men,
Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you,
And you have overcome the wicked one.”

I have heard the same teaching many times.  I brought that up to a man of God whom I worked with sometimes who had traveled and ministered all around the world, including for extended times in the Middle East and Israel.  He said rabbis refute that teaching, as do shepherds there.
A sheep with a broken leg is a great burden and usually results in internal infection and death.  Animals (sheep and other domesticated animals) which do accidentally break a leg are used for food quickly.  In any case, if a shepherd wanted to put a lamb on his shoulders he could do so as he searches for the lamb’s mother.
Sheep are very group oriented.  They never want to be alone or separated, but in a rare case a shepherd wants to hobble a lamb, he can always “hogtie” the lamb without risking horrid consequences of breaking its leg.  Sheep were raised for meat, as well as clothing, but primarily meat.  Both the meat and clothing utilitarian aspects of the sheep would be ruined by infections which would quickly spread on the range without modern antibiotics.  Not only did ancient shepherds NOT do this but no modern ones do it as well.

gkett jubilee4040 cmarkie RobertaForan Evermyrtle  You are absolutely right. It is not our right to twist the WORD OF GOD to suit any situation but we turn our hearts until they match what the WORD is telling us, ain;t no other way going to work with HIM. HE tells us what will happen to us if we take or add to HIS WORD , can be found in Revelation 22:18-20
          18. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these thing, GOD shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
          19. And  if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, GOD shall take away his part ut of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
          20. HE which testifiet these things saith,  SURELY I COME QUICKLY. Amen. Even so, come LORD JESUS.

SandyTrank Well spoken The is exactly what we must do. Just believing? Satan believes, in fact he knows all about JESUS CHRIST AND HIS FATHER, GOD and it is his impossible intention to overcome them..

        • Evermyrtle

SandyTrank gkett  Luke 22:10 could be the scripture that is referred to because this is leading to the place where HE was to have “The Last Supper. “This is my guess!

        • Evermyrtle

jubilee4040 gkett cmarkie RobertaForan Evermyrtle  NO, of course not and I am sorry if I gave that impression. The point I am trying to make is that every word that we speak and every action we take is counted with GOD and every one works either for GOD or against GOD. The reason of both, words and actions will be taken into consideration with GOD. Not like us with each other, GOD knows the reason for every word and action.

gkett jubilee4040 cmarkie RobertaForan Evermyrtle  thanks, you took a load offf my mind, you had me worried for a minute that you might be sincerely mislead. S o I agree with you, but I would say that both are important indeed, but due to the inherent deceivability of the heart of man, the Word is always completely superior to sincerity and good intent.  Peter hated that Jesus would be crucified, and said so, and Jesus told that lying devil to GET BEHIND ME peter obviously had the best of intentions, and a good heart in that matter. He also disagreed with the Word made flesh who dwelt among us. bad plan. Hard hearts of unbelief, along with lies and deceptions are the whole problem, and the very reasobn why we correct error before it misleads any more regular old sheep , lambs or goats!

        • gkett

cajunliberty7gkettSandyTrank I lived on an American sheep farm for several years, and certainly no moderns ever did this there to my knowledge, (but no moderns shepherded the sheep 24-7 either, as they had barns and fenced pastures), although they did plenty of other rather brutal and infection prone things, castrating, docking, cutting them while shearing, etc.  I do not claim to be an eye-witness or to know the source of this “legend.”  What you are saying makes plenty of good sense to me.  Perhaps the story could be an exaggeration of a lesser injury such as bruising, but I wouldn’t know.  It might just be someone’s fanciful idea of “inspirational poetry.”  Certainly, we do not find it in Scripture as such, although we have plenty of good examples of God’s good and wise care and concern for His flock.  However, be all that as it may, a very small lamb would not be that hard for a very strong shepherd to shoulder.  Our modern farmers did make temporary “pets” of some of them who needed extra care, but they eventually shared the animal husbandry fates of the rest of the flock.  What you say is certainly well to consider.

I need information how to separate the WORD AND THE CHRISTIAN HEART OF MAN. If we do not get our hearts right, or in tune with it,  the Bible can, in no way help us, we must live it.  If we do not live it, we have not accepted it. Of course that means individually, separately, the WORD OF GOD  is the pattern that we have no choice but to follow, if we are to be accepted as “CHILDREN OF GOD. I am not trying to make it hard, I am trying to show what each heart must accept for that one heart to belong to GOD. The WORD OF GOD is perfect; the heart of man will never be perfect, we are sinners and we will remain sinners, in love with GOD AND HIS WORD We will fail at times HIS WORD WILL NEVER FAIL,

        • gkett

jubilee4040gkettcmarkieRobertaForanEvermyrtle I can see that I caused some confusion with that word, and I’m sorry for it.  I’m definitely NOT talking about our personal and world-oriented and deceivable fallen soul realm.  That part of us doesn’t know what we’re doing at all, and is more about connecting to outer things.  I’m talking about the part that God sees and knows, the “hidden person of the heart.”
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Peter+3:4&version=NKJV “rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”
He knows if our desire is truly for Him, even though we find ourselves in a fallen world that would be all too happy to keep us away from Him.
Consider also if the parable of the Sower sowing the seed (the Word) isn’t also about this, the various types of soil representing the hearts of the hearers.

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

gkett SandyTrank  And notice the Shepherd held that little lamb next to His Heart. That is where I always want to be. Just as He “breaks” us after we are saved. My Pastor gave Communion as a model as He first takes us, then breaks us and then gives us. To be a faithful servant or disciple, we must follow Him without question  and adhere to His Agenda and not our own. The breaking or dying to self is a continual thing with us as we without meaning to will get into self again. We don’t like the breaking but the closer relationship we have with Him we do love.

gkett cmarkie jubilee4040 RobertaForan Evermyrtle I agree, the word of God and a relationship with Christ .The only way we can know Him is from the word of God which the Bible says Jesus is the Word.

        • SandyTrank

gkett One of the most critical lessons I have learned is that all that we will ever have need of was purchased for us at the Cross. As my faith was totally in that Precious Sacrifice for my sin; it is the same faith in the same Way Christ provided my need no matter what it is. Colossians 2:4-6 The Apostle Paul in referring to false teaching told us to beware and in verse 6 tells us “As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him.” Key word here is “walk” so faith must always remain in His Finished Work. Romans 6 tells us how to walk, chapter 7 tells us what happens if we don’t keep our faith anchored in His Finished Work and  chapter 8 tells us of the life we can have if we keep our faith right. That is so clear and yet I never saw that the first 20 years of my walking with Him. It is so easy to move our faith once we understand where it is anchored. That does not say other Scripture is negated, no way, but if we are to enjoy a victorious walk it must be His Way. He gives the victory as our faith is right and when we do that, we know of a surety that He did it and we won’t be so quick to take the glory or give to another. I know that simple key of understanding made the difference in my relationship with Him. One way to test yourself if your faith is right is are you growing in Him, not just knowledge but closer to Him. It is not taught in most churches I know and that understanding does not conflict with any Scripture, but allows it to become reality to us. Hard to put it in a nutshell.

Evermyrtle gkett jubilee4040 cmarkie RobertaForan  you’re welcome,… the Word of God has so many good nuggets of revelation Truth and deep spiritual meanings,… sometimes we see and understand them better as time goes on,…

SandyTrankgkett it’s a foreshadowing of the glory to come,… through faith and patience, we inherit the promises,… God, the Father, and Christ, the Son, made their freewill offering for us, and it’s up to our freewill to turn ourselves to Him,… no one can “make” us do it in the fullness or “make us willing,” but it is our own opportunity, and up to us, to open our hearts and lives to God, His Nature and His Ways (which are True Love), and His Call,…

Most of us think that what we believe about GOD’S WORD has to be the right belief, but I would guess that everyone of us are dead wrong. We always find we were wrong somewhere along  the study of HIS WORD. We need all of us to get off of those extremely high horses and listen to what others have to say and then  look up scriptures  pertaining to the subject. I have been wrong so many times I try not too look as if I think I know it all, but I fail at that, too.
There is another thing I try not to do, that is to be nasty to others when they do not believe as I do. That is such a anti-GOD attitude, and I try to never guilty and do hope I do not ever do that.

Jesus performed many miracles but He never used His Power for His Own purpose ever. He walked the earth setting His Deity aside being subject to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He never ceased to be God but set it aside. Where does it say Peter refused to believe in Jesus being put to death?

        • SandyTrank

Evermyrtle The things that pertain to one’s Salvation are not open for debate as I believe many of the Scriptures are real plain but those that are not sometimes can be opened a bit from someone else sharing but all must line up with the Foundations of our faith. It is all whosoever will, and it is up to the Holy Spirit to draw and reveal the Word to them. If we speak as He directs us to, we just have to leave it in His Hands that is all we are supposed to do. The teachings of Paul tho is about how to walk is something not all pastors preach. What my Pastors preach is not new, its what the Apostle Paul taught and that is how the Holy Spirit can work in our lives. It has everything to do with properly placed faith. What blessing that has been to me and many others I know. I thought I understood the Atonement completely and how the Holy Spirit worked in my life and found I was wrong, I didn’t. We can all learn. The five fold ministry is all for equipping the Saints. The Lord has it all covered.

I think I would just personally say that as Christians we hate satan and ALL his works and influences, be they lies or distortions of Biblical Truth that he has managed to infiltrate into the minds and hearts of our “Christian body of believers” on earth at this time,… or his many other things.
I can admire the desire of those who are focused on keeping the doctrine pure from the corruption of wrong influences, and who isolate the “falseness” in teachings.  Keeping the basic principles straight is a very important work, but (and because) humans can be easily “led” and swayed by these outside factors, we need to be very clear that the greatest enemy and tempter in false messages is satan himself and his proselytizing demons, who can be formidable and seductive foes, until they are unmasked.  Satan would like nothing better than to stay “hidden under a rug” while we blame and point fingers at each other personally, and we should try to be careful in the way we do these things.  We are none of us perfect, so having compassion on the person, while identifying and pinpointing the exact errors going forth, is possible to do.
Beyond that, fortunately or unfortunately, I have NO personal experiences with the Warren family or their books and ministry, and can have no reliable insight concerning them, except to say, that an attempt to blend Christianity with what we know of Islam seems very illusionary and fundamentally mis-guided. But even so, satan is the author of that messed up idea and should be given the full (dis)credit for what deception he is trying to accomplish.  And, nonetheless, in the Lord, (with no up close and personal experiences to measure from), I find it possible to both “love” and “pray for” the souls of Rick Warren, his family, and even mis-guided practitioners of Islam that still need to “see the full Light of Jesus Christ”, the True Savior of Mankind.

  • jubilee4040

In a study of ephesians chapter 4, we see a 5 fold ministry that God has ordained to guide the saints into all Truth and lead us into a mature man who is not all confused and divided over pet doctrines and areas of emphasis.  Some perspective problems for example come from the kind of gifts or tendencies in the individual christian.  Prophetic folks only see good and evil, or Truth aND ERROR.  Pastoral people tend to be more mercy motivated, and dont always cherish pure Truth as much, same generally for  evangelists over against Apostolic folks who see a correct biblical pattern for Church growth etc, while evangelists are more concerned with the salvation event, and dont concern themselves as much with discipleship, or the maturing process.  I believe that these areas of gifting seldom stand alone in a person, so a person can be very balanced with these giftings, but not all are so mature in these areas, so you se some people all worried not to offend someone, and others all concerned not to offend the Truth. So now the kids argue amongst themselves and refuse to understand one another, and get all offended at the prophetic folks, its nothing new, I am used to it. Those not initiated in the things of the Spirit often see these matters of sensativity to Truth and error as just petty judgements, but the Holy Spirit leads us into all Truth, and He is the Spirit of truth, and ERROR is not ok with the Holy Spirit, so the propheyic folks will get a little rough from time to time, as Jesus did. At the end of the day the best course is one of mature seasoned ministry balanced between apostolic, prophetic, pastoral, evangelistic, and the teaching ministry. Today I am moving in a teaching motivation, yesterday the prophetic motivation. This aught to bring out the love and support from the body of Christ, and something else from somewhere else!!  God is good, and I feel free in my spirit today because I dont hate anyone.  Having said that, I am only a man, and I am weak sometimes, so dont push your luck!  LOL, just a little humor dont freak out on that.

I do wonder if anyone of you realize just how much good Rick Warren’s Son has done in his passing. He has brought a lot of people to the table to talk abott GOD and his Son Jesus Christ. There have been numerous posts some good and some need an update. All of you as participants are doing the Lords work with the banter back and forth. All of you have Bibical Quotes and Scriptural references to back up your thoughts however, you must realize that when the Disciples were yet with Jesues they did not always understand his his spoken word. We must always take a second to think through what we read and say. We all belong to Jesus as he has said “I knew yiu in your Mothers Womb” so we are all children of God, it is the road we take that separates us.
