US Supreme Court Legalizes Gay Marriages by Refusing to Hear Appeals

Yesterday, the US Supreme Court stunned most of the nation when it announced that it will not hear the appeals from five states concerning same-sex marriages. In those five states, Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin, lower courts had ruled that bans on same-sex marriages were unconstitutional. The states had appealed to the nation’s highest court in hopes that they would make a definitive ruling.

By refusing to hear the appeals, the Supreme Court unofficially endorsed the legalization of same-sex marriages without having to say so. They turned a deaf ear to the issue and without writing a single word of decision, they spoke loud and clear.

In addition to the five afore mentioned states, the court’s non-action will affect lower court rulings in Colorado, Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia and Wyoming. The number of states that will now recognize and allow same-sex marriages jumps from 19 to 30 and you can be sure that others will soon follow suit.

With everyone looking at the states that will now legalize gay marriages, I noticed that none of the media is asking what will happen in Louisiana where a federal judge recently ruled to uphold the state’s ban on same-sex marriages. In that case, US District Judge Martin Feldman wrote:

“[t]he Court finds that Louisiana’s definition of marriage as between one man and one woman and the limitation on recognition of same-sex marriages permitted by law in other states found in Article XII, Section 15 of the Louisiana Constitution and article 3520(B) of the Louisiana Civil Code do not infringe the guarantees of the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses of the United States Constitution.”

Will Feldman’s decision stand and Louisiana be the only state to remain normal? Somehow I doubt it in today’s liberal world.

It’s bad enough that America has been sacrificing millions of innocent lives on the abortion altar of liberalism, but now we as a nation are embracing and accepting a sinful lifestyle that God calls an abomination. Romans 1:18-31 describes this acceptance of homosexuality as a form of God’s punishment for turning away from His statutes and Word. Whenever God has turned a nation over to their despicable lust and desires, it’s not long afterward that He brings His full wrath down and completely destroys the nation. Our time is drawing very near.
