My first reaction was, “What in the world does Bloomberg know about climate science?” What qualifies him for such an international position in such a field?
But then again, you don’t have to know anything about global warming to push the global warming agenda. If you dare to be a global warming “skeptic,” the climate alarmists will all claim that your opinion is invalid because you don’t have any “credentials.” But even if you do have credentials, they’ll say that if you deny global warming, then you don’t deserve those credentials. If you believe in the global warming myth, then you don’t need credentials at all.
It’s like all those gun-grabbers in the various state legislatures and the U.S. Congress and Senate who have no idea what an ammunition magazine is. It doesn’t matter. They don’t have to know anything. They just have to be willing to be used to push some lucrative agenda.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday appointed former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg as his special envoy for cities and climate change, in a bid to build momentum ahead of a planned U.N. summit meeting in September.
Ban said Bloomberg will assist him in “consultations with mayors and related key stakeholders, in order to raise political will and mobilize action among cities as part of his long-term strategy to advance efforts on climate change.”
Ban is seeking to re-energize the global climate change debate and boost the United Nations’ role. The U.N. role for Bloomberg – a billionaire philanthropist who left office last month – was reported by Reuters on Thursday.
John Kerry said that he couldn’t think of a better person to fill this slot. What exactly do they see in Bloomberg? All he’s ever wanted to do is ban things.
But maybe that’s why they like him. Maybe he thinks he can convince mayors around the country not only to ban guns and large sodas, but also carbon dioxide. Of course, we all exhale carbon dioxide, so we’d have to have special apparatuses placed around our noses and mouths to catch our every exhaled breath. That’ll help them their calculations of how much carbon tax we owe.
I’m hoping Bloomberg’s global warming aspirations fail as much as his national gun control marketing campaign.
