Liberals celebrate pluralism and claim that they fully embrace tolerance. The problem is that when you try to be accepting of everyone, everything, every idea, every flag, certain people get offended. Then, the natural response by the left is to shut everything down. “We want to be accepting of every flag, but that flag is too offensive. Therefore, flags aren’t allowed anymore…except the ones we endorse. Sorry.” And that of course, offends the most people.
That’s the way it’ll be with most things. Just replace ‘flag’ with ‘opinion,’ ‘religion,’ and whatever else you can think of. In their attempt to celebrate tolerance and pluralism, they’ll end up with an extremely biased, insular, top-down controlled theocratic feudal state where they get to define everyone else’s opinions for them.
Sunday night, the Dickson County School District [in Tennessee] sent an email to FOX13 to set the record straight about a story we first brought you this weekend.
School leaders in Dickson County decided, after a summer of controversy surrounding the confederate flag, the wise thing to do would be to ban all flags and banners.
They now say they are not banning all flags at school, they are only banning flags from flying on the back of pick-up trucks on school property.
School leaders said there is a right and wrong way to show American pride:
“It’s not an unpatriotic act by any means because we have a number of ways in which students do learn how to be patriotic and express American pride.”
Students were told if they disobeyed the order, they’d be kicked out.
We saw this same response recently in Georgia. A Carroll County school instructed students to stop flying flags on their pickups when they were on school property. The school itself can fly flags, and they can even have students pledge allegiance to them inside the school, but no one else is allowed to fly any flag at all on their vehicles while on school grounds.
