Would it surprise you to find out that the U.S. government actually wanted organizations like ISIS to thrive in Syria for the express purpose of isolating the Assad regime and overthrowing them?
To most people, I imagine it would come as a surprise, since all the talk that we’re hearing now from Washington is that we’ve got to fight ISIS and prevent them from carrying out attacks on American soil. We’ve got to do whatever is necessary to contain them.
According to official documents obtained by Judicial Watch, the U.S. government supported ISIS and wanted them to overthrow Assad. What we’re seeing now are the unintended consequences of our support for terrorist organizations:
This is nothing new. Governments including our own always have ulterior motives for the things they do, particularly in terms of foreign policy. Then, they use the media to sell it to the citizenry. They make up something like, “If we don’t send thousands more troops to the Middle East, the terrorists will attack us here!” People fall for it, hook, line, and sinker, not realizing that our government was instrumental in creating ISIS and other terrorist organizations in the first place. As is typical with governments, they create the problem and then offer their solution.
So, is ISIS contained? It’s a rather silly question, considering that containing ISIS was the very opposite of what the government wanted. But Obama cheerleaders like Pelosi are following their script. She says she trusts Obama’s judgment on this:
The last thing we need to do is listen to the politicians offering their “solutions” to problems they helped create. Instead, we need to seriously question our insane foreign policy that one day supports, funds, and trains terrorists to accomplish our geopolitical goals; and then the next day pretends that the same people are our enemies.
