MSNBC and Hillary Clinton Pretend that She’s Not Influenced by Wall Street

This video clip is not from the Onion.

No it is a “serious” discussion between MSNBC liberal Rachel Maddow and Soviet liberal Hillary Clinton. During this discussion Clinton says a couple of demonstrably ridiculous things… like “Anyybody who thinks that they (Wall Street) can influence what I will do doesn’t know me very well. And they can actually look and see what I have said and done throughout my career.

Um… I hate to break it to you Mrs. Clinton, but your past, your history and what you’ve done throughout your career is exactly why we think Wall Street will own you (or already does own you).

Rachel Maddow: Voters in both parties are concerned that part of the reason we’re not addressing problems like that is because the special interests get what they want, the most powerful special interests get what they want, even when it hurts regular Americans and the rest of the economy.

You have received a lot of support from people who made their money on Wall Street. You have a lot of Wall Street relationships. You’ve done paid speeches for Wall Street institutions. Three paid speeches for Goldman Sachs alone, your first year out of public office, for which they paid you over $600,000.

What do you say to people like Senator Sanders who have criticized you as basically being too close to that most powerful special interest, too close to Wall Street interests to be trusted to reel them in when they need to be reeled in?

HILLARY CLINTON: Well, first of all, I represented New York. So, I represented Upstate New York, rural New York, dying industrial towns New York, and I represented New York City, and there’s a lot to New York city beyond Wall Street.

But anybody who thinks that they can influence what I will do doesn’t know me very well. And they can actually look and see what I have said and done throughout my career.
