Earlier this year, Cuba revamped their migration policies making it easier for their citizens to leave for other countries. Evidently, over fifty years of strict communist rule and migration policies, Cuba is getting too over crowded. Solution? Ease up migration laws to allow some of the overpopulation to flee to other countries.
Besides the United States, one of the popular destinations for fleeing Cubans is Mexico, and guess what? Mexico isn’t happy about the sudden increase in the number of illegal Cubans entering their country. From January through August 2012, Mexico detained 994 illegal Cubans. During the same period this year, 2,300 illegal Cubans have been detained. Keep in mind that these are just ones that have been caught. Mexican authorities place the total number of illegal Cubans to be well over 13,000 for the last year ending in September.
According to numbers released by Mexico’s Interior Ministry, the number of Cubans illegally entering Mexico in past eight months has more than doubled. They also reported that the final destination of the illegal Cubans is the US. Mexico is only a pit stop on the path to fortune and citizenship in Obama’s America. Mexican authorities are trying to clamp down on the number of illegal Cubans entering their country, even though they do not plan on staying there.
Yet I find it hypocritical that Mexico is so concerned about the increase in the number of illegal Cubans entering their country while doing nothing to stop their own people from illegally entering our country. They don’t like it when others are doing to them what they are doing to us.
If Mexican authorities are so upset about 13,000 illegal Cubans entering their country, how do they think we feel about the millions of their citizens illegally entering our country? You know how concerned they are for us? The Mexican government readily signed an agreement with the US to help provide education and guidance to help Mexican nationals living and working in the U.S. to receive help obtaining food stamps and other programs.
The agreement was made with the USDA and on their website – Reaching Low-Income Hispanics With Nutritional Assistance, they state three ways in which they plan on getting more aid and benefits to Hispanics living and working in the U.S. Those three ways are: 1) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) which replaced food stamps; 2) Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC); 3) Child Nutrition Programs.
With the USDA help, the Mexican government is actually telling their people how to get US government assistance once they get into the US, legally or illegally. On the same USDA website, it states:
“Partnering with Mexico. USDA and the government of Mexico have entered into a partnership to help educate eligible Mexican nationals living in the United States about available nutrition assistance. Mexico will help disseminate this information through its embassy and network of approximately 50 consular offices.”
I have no compassion for Mexico and their problem with illegal Cubans. In fact, I have nothing but contempt for them because of their hypocritical stand on illegal immigration. They whine about illegals entering their country and then purposely encourage their people to illegally cross into America and then how to take advantage of our benefits program. I’m still a firm advocate for bringing all of our troops in Afghanistan home and stationing them along our 1,954 mile border with Mexico with orders to check everyone crossing the border. All illegals will be repelled and those that try to bypass the system are subject to military intervention, including force if necessary. We need to protect our country more than we need to protect other countries.
