Jim Webb says Democrat Party has Moved “Way Far to the Left”

On Fox News Sunday this past weekend, Democrat candidate for President Jim Webb said something stunning about his own party. When discussing the uphill nomination battle that Webb faces, Fox News’ Bret Baier wondered aloud if liberal Democrat voters would turn out for someone as moderate as Jim Webb. His response is startling in its honesty and is a wake up call to just how far left the Democrat Party (and our nation with it) have drifted.

Bret Baier: You have an uphill climb against this Clinton machine, most political analysts will tell you Democrats have moved resolutely to the left, basically Hillary Clinton has renounced Clintonism, which used to be the vital core of the center. Used to be in your party. In a party that seems to thrill to Bernie Sanders and maybe long for Elizabeth Warren, who are the Jim Webb Democrats?

Jim Webb (D-VA): I believe we can bring a different tone to the Democratic party. You’re right, the party has moved way far to the left. That’s not my Democratic Party in and of itself. We need to bring working people back into the formula.
