The Democrats love to have their cake and eat it, too. Ever since the beginning of the Obama administration, any criticism that couldn’t be attributed to racism has immediately been attributed to former president Bush. Rather, any time Obama can’t spin his way out of an economic disaster, his next move is to say that he inherited a mess, and he is still cleaning it up. On the other hand, I’ve recently noticed numerous Democrats praising Obama for the improving economy. Huh?
You cannot claim that the economy is improving, and blame Bush at the same time. These are mutually exclusive elements. When the economy is lagging, and unemployment rises, the Democrats dump all the blame on other factors, but the second it improves, even slightly, it’s because of Obama’s genius. For example, according to Breitbart, a senior Senate Democrat aide said: “If the economy continues to improve at the rate it’s improving by or more, we will hold the Senate, plain and simple.”
Additionally, Democrat Senator Mark Pryor said: “I think the overall economy is resilient..I assume that tends to help incumbents.”
However bright the Democrats make the economy seem, the truth is much less shiny. In terms of simple numbers, the unemployment rate is down under Obama, but there are many more factors at play here. First, a staggering statistic. 41% of new jobs created in the month of November under Obama were government jobs, not private sector. Second, approximately 11 million American have left the job force, meaning that they are no longer counted as “unemployed.” Third, under Obama, welfare spending has increased by 32%. Finally, under Obama, the number of Americans using food stamps has jumped to 47.8 million (a number from December 2012), a 70% increase since Obama took office.
All of these factors point to a terrible economy. But that’s not what the Democrats want you to believe. They will tout the simple jobs numbers, expecting you to believe them at their word.
The funniest part about this whole situation is that if you were to ask a Liberal how the Obama economy is doing, they would tell you that it was doing spectacularly, and that it was all due to Obama. If you then gave them all of the data showing the truth, they would blame it on Obama’s predecessor. You can’t win. They are logic-proof.
As we approach the mid-terms, the Democrats will do everything they can to distract Americans from the disaster called Obamacare. They will pivot to what they believe is the best alternative, the economy. But we know better. It’s up to us to inform our friends and family. We are the new media.
