Democrat Congressman: “Communism Works”

Liberal voters get feisty when accused of being Communists, much in the same way liars do when accused of being liars.

It can come across as name-calling when a Republican or conservative calls a liberal or Democrat a Marxist or a socialist or a Communist, but it’s only name-calling if it’s untrue.

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman and 2004 presidential candidate Howard Dean once laughed at the idea that America is either capitalist or socialist, saying that it isn’t a matter of whether we are one or the other, but a matter of how much socialism and capitalism we are going to have.

That was one instance of a high-profile Democrat—indeed, the leader of the Democratic Party—saying that we need and will have socialism in America, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Of course any Communism-supporting politicians are not going to admit to being Communists, just as Nazi-sympathetic and anti-Semitic politicians are not going to admit to being Nazi-sympathetic or anti-Semitic. But that doesn’t mean those politicians don’t exist.

If a politician wants to establish Communism in America, he can’t just outright do it. He has to do it gradually. “I’m a Communist, vote for me” will never work.

Well, here we have another politician, Florida Democratic Rep. Joe Garcia, of earwax-eating fame, telling the people in a Google Hangout session that Communism works.

“[T]he safest city in America is El Paso, Texas,” Garcia said. “It happens to be across the border from the most dangerous city in the Americas, which is Juarez, right? And two of the safest cities in America, two of them are on the border with Mexico. And of course, the reason is–we’ve proved that Communism works. If you give everybody a good government job, there’s no crime.”

Well that’s the kind of future I want, don’t you? Everybody working for The Great American Bureaucracy. Sounds like paradise! (To the Communists in the Democratic Party, anyway.)

So if Garcia believes Communism works, doesn’t it stand to reason that he is a supporter of Communism? In other words, that he is a Communist? He’d be crazy not to at least privately consider himself to be a member of a political party he believes truly works.

In reality, he and most of his fellow Democrats do support Communism. They just can’t outright say it or else it will never gain traction.

It is gaining traction in America, unfortunately. The average American is a socialist whether he knows it or not. And socialism is and Democratic policies are not that far removed from Communism.

And that’s no coincidence.
