The Conservative Media Bias

Hooray! I have waited 24 years for the media to get along with a Democrat administration. It seems like election after election, the media fawn all over the Republican candidates, lobbing them softball questions, covering up for their misquotes and gaffes and endlessly fundraising for them. But finally a generous—and dare I say courageous—media outlet has actually partnered up with a Liberal Democrat administration! This is groundbreaking, indeed.

According to National Review:

The White House and the Huffington Post are using the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington to cooperate on a blog. Senior White House and cabinet officials, including attorney general Eric Holder, will contribute to a Huffington Post page created to mark the occasion.”

But of course, even when we think the media might finally be giving the Left a fair shot, the Huffington Post adds to their blog a disclaimer: “This blog post is part of a series produced by the Obama Administration, in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the historic March on Washington.”

So, after years of verbally groping the Republicans and brutally shredding the Democrats, the Huffington Post has to make sure they protect themselves from their counterparts in the Conservative mainstream media by disclosing every post written by an administration official. Wow.

This is classic Conservative media behavior. If ever any outlet dares to offer praise to Democrats, the rest of the Conservative media establishment jumps down their throats, accusing them of bias.

I just want a world in which Conservatives and Liberals are treated equally by the media. I want to live in a world in which the endless battery of Liberal ideals and the endless dogmatic praise of Conservative ideals balances out. Unfortunately, it looks like this Huffpo blog is all we’re going to get for now.

Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful for this crumb, I would just like more. But what can I expect when 95% of journalists give money to the Republican Party? What can I expect when personal conservative agendas outweigh the truth? What can I expect when the Conservatives own almost all major media outlets? Baby steps.

Maybe next, we can actually get a Democrat to moderate a Presidential debate. That’s probably just a pipe-dream.
