“A hypocrite despises those whom he deceives, but has no respect for himself. He would make a dupe of himself too, if he could.” – William Hazlitt
The list of tactics used by the Left is long, and varied. However, there are some that they use more often than others. One such tactic the Left uses frequently is one in which they call out the opposition for doing something they themselves are actually doing. For example, liberal often decry Fox News for being biased in favor of conservatism. And look, they’re doing it again!
According to Breitbart, Jeff Zucker, head of CNN, recently said:
“The Republican Party is being run out of News Corp. headquarters masquerading as a cable news channel.”
It’s funny he should say that, because Fox isn’t just the number one choice news network for Republicans, but for Democrats and Independents as well. Fox actually features regular opposition to their conservative leaning hosts. They frequently feature very liberal guests on their prime-time shows so that a robust debate can occur.
Does Fox lean conservative? Most certainly. But does that mean that it’s a shill for the Republican Party? No it does not. In fact, Fox hosts regularly attack Republicans who seem to have no association to conservatism.
But let’s lose all the opinions, and get down to brass tacks. Fox is number one for Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. Why–if Fox were a mindless shill for the Republican Party–would so many non-Republicans make it their choice for political coverage? According to the Pew research center, 33% of Fox viewers are Democrats, while 22% are Independents. Why have Democrats and Independents abandoned CNN? Because it is CNN that is the shill. It is CNN that pushes propaganda to the masses.
It’s a classic trick to blame opposition for your own faults. In doing so, one cuts their opponent off at the knees. As soon as one successfully labels their enemy, they’ve usually won the battle. However, the masses whom CNN has deceived for so long are waking up. They are seeing all the hatred, and false piety of the Left, and running as fast as they can to the other side.
I have opinions about Fox, and so does everyone else. But the stats don’t lie. Sorry, Zucker. Try again.
