Why Christian Terrorism is an Oxymoron While Islamic Terrorism is a Truism

In the wake of the Colorado Planned Parenthood shooting, many political commentators have been quick to criticize Republicans for being unwilling to call Robert Lewis Dear a “Christian terrorist” though those same Republicans want to call ISIS and its agents “Islamic terrorists.” Here’s a representative example of this argument from (of course) Think Progress: But while some famous conservatives such [as] Mike Huckabee were eventually willing to call the massacre [Does this really count Read more […]

Atheists Get School Nativity Scene Performance Banned

The Freedom From Religion Foundation and the ACLU are celebrating a victory against a school that had a Christmas performance planned which included a live nativity scene and traditional Christmas songs. They sued the school, and the judge granted the ACLU and FFRF an injunction. The issue was brought to light by an offended high school student and one of his parents who went to the ACLU and FFRF for rescue. From The Blaze: A federal judge has banned a public high school from including a live nativity Read more […]

Donald Trump Wants to do What with American Muslims?

So in another Twilight Zone episode of history repeating itself, Donald Trump is not ruling out tagging, logging, and tracking every Muslim in the US just in case one might be a terrorist: “Some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule,” Trump said. “Certain things will be done that we never thought would happen in this country in terms of information and learning about the enemy,” he added. “We’re going to have Read more […]

Pastafarian Woman Forces Massachusetts RMV to Let Her Wear Colander for Driver’s License Photo

The American Humanist Foundation considers it a win that they were able to legally force a government institution to officially recognize the fictional practices of a fictional religion. Because it proves an important point somehow: Lindsay Miller identifies as a Pastafarian, also known as members of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, a secular religion that views the existence of a Flying Spaghetti Monster to be just as probable as the existence of the Christian God. As a Pastafarian, Read more […]

Is Obama Trying to Test the Tolerance Limits of Pope Francis?

Pope Francis is set to visit the White House, and Obama is apparently seeing just how far the Pope’s famous tolerance can go. Obama has invited quite a few people to meet Pope Francis at the White House, and few of them fall squarely into any category one could consider “orthodox”: In a stunning show of political indecorum, Obama has invited a series of individuals who publicly flout Catholic teaching, including a pro-abortion religious sister, a transgender woman and the first openly gay Read more […]

Former Clinton Advisor says New Planet is “Bad News” for God

Why, oh why are liberal anti-God atheists always so smug and unlikable? Exhibit A below…   NASA’s recent announcement that it has discovered an “Earth-like” planet orbiting a nearby start is “bad news for God,” according to a recent article in The Huffington Post. Jeff Schweitzer, a scientist, author, and former policy analyst for the Clinton White House, claims that the discovery of Kepler-452b is a watershed because it indicates that Earth-like planets are common, Read more […]

Are We Witnessing the End of the Church’s Tax-Exempt Status?

For all the talk of separation of church and state, it seems most people don’t understand that concept cuts both ways. Most people think it means that the church should have no influence on the state, not vice versa. And in the wake of the same-sex marriage ruling, some commentators are calling for the end of the church’s tax-exempt status: Defenders of tax exemptions and deductions argue that if we got rid of them charitable giving would drop. It surely would, although how much, we can’t Read more […]

My Response to a Christian Who Believes Fighting the Moral Decay of Society is Useless

I was recently scanning my Facebook feed, and I saw that a friend had posted an article about the same-sex marriage ruling. My friend was pleased with the article, and said it was one of the best pieces he’d seen written on the issue. I clicked the link, and was appalled by what I read. The piece, by Ed Cyzewski, which currently has over 84,000 Facebook shares, claims that the same-sex marriage ruling isn’t where our focus should be as Christians. To truly obey Christ, he claims, we must focus Read more […]

The Diversity vs. Equality Paradox and the Branding of America

I just read an interesting article on the ambivalent feelings some homosexuals have had toward the recent Supreme Court decision to legalize same-sex marriage. According to some homosexuals, especially the older ones, the normalization of homosexuality has eroded the uniqueness of the homosexual identity: Rainbow-hued “Just Be You” messages have been flashing across Chase A.T.M. screens in honor of Pride month, conveying acceptance but also corporate blandness. Directors, filmmakers and artists Read more […]

Liberals Outraged That Bobby Jindal Isn’t Using His Race to Get Votes

As Bobby Jindal is set to announce his candidacy for the presidency, a Washington Post article has painted him as the worst thing a liberal could possibly imagine: someone who doesn’t use his race to his advantage. I would clutch my pearls, but I’ve done it so many times at this point, I need new ones. The WaPo article speaks of Jindal’s parents and their decision to raise their children as “Americans.” It talks of Jindal’s conversion to Christianity, and how his big Indian donors have left him. Read more […]

Republicans Join Together to Defend Religious Liberty!

Republicans Join Forces to Defend Religious Liberty!   Congressman Raul Labrador (R-ID) and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) have joined together in an effort to reinforce rights that they shouldn’t have to be defending. The First Amendment has been under assault in recent days. Particularly the government (particularly the courts) has focused its efforts on tearing down our religious freedom. Well, there are some legislators who won’t let us lose our religious freedom without a fight.   The Read more […]

We Are So Much Closer to a Faith v. Government War Than We Know

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” – Abraham Lincoln A free society has a shelf-life of a few hundred years before it crumbles into a bloody mess. It all depends on the situations that bring about the downfall of the society, but regardless, there is a finite amount of time a free society has before it’s over. I think America’s experiment is coming to a close. Now, I don’t believe this will happen Read more […]
