Introducing Paul Ryan Boehner the Second

Paul Ryan is our new John Boehner. He just proved that by overseeing the latest $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill which gained widespread bipartisan support and flew through both houses of Congress. Ryan might actually be worse than Boehner. People knew Boehner was a rat traitor. They don’t know that about Ryan yet, so he was able to father this monstrosity of a spending bill largely uncontested. Here’s hoping he won’t remain uncontested. Republicans have a majority in the House and Read more […]

“Irresponsible and Unpatriotic”: Obama to Double National Debt to $20 Trillion

If you recall, it was then-presidential candidate Barack Obama who criticized then-President Bush for raising the debt ceiling and for accruing so much national debt. Remember when he said this? It was irresponsible and unpatriotic for Bush to add $4 trillion to the national debt. But it’s okay for Obama to add nearly $10 trillion. When he does it, it’s okay. He is, after all, still trying to clean up the mess that Bush left behind. It’s all Bush’s fault. As the Washington Times Read more […]

Feds Rake in Record $2.8 Trillion in Taxes

The left often pays lip service to fiscal conservatives and pretends to care about the national debt and deficit. While conservatives generally say that part of the solution is to cut spending, liberals say that we don’t have a spending problem; we have to raise taxes. In the first eleven months of fiscal year 2015, from October of 2014 through the end of August this year, the feds raked in a record $2.88 trillion. Yet, the feds still managed to run a huge deficit. CNS News reported: Despite Read more […]

Who Pays the Taxes in the United States? And Why?

Today is Tax Day, and you’ve probably noted a few different narratives swirling around concerning taxes. One narrative is that the top earners in the US pay a disproportionate amount of taxes. This is known as a progressive tax rate. But other commentators have noted that the progressive tax rate applies for Federal income taxes but not for other taxes. If you consider all taxes—payroll, state, and local—the tax rate starts to look almost proportional percentage-wise. First, the top ten Read more […]

Obamas Fly to LA on Different Planes on the Same Day

There are times when my wife and I can’t get on quite the same schedule, and we have to travel in two cars to the same destination at different times in a single day. But I don’t think we would ever fly on two different planes to the same location on the same day. That’s just a little excessive. But that’s just what the Obamas did recently: President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama were both in California at the same time yesterday, but the pair took separate flights for two different Read more […]

The Majority of Current Congress Members are Millionaires

For the first time ever, the majority of Congress members are millionaires: Among the 534 current members of Congress, at least 268 had an average net worth of $1 million or more for 2012, the CRP said, citing disclosure forms filed last year. A year ago, the total stood at 257 members, or about 48%. The group said the new figure “represents a watershed moment at a time when lawmakers are debating issues like unemployment benefits, food stamps and the minimum wage, which affect people with Read more […]

Total US Debt Over $18 Trillion

The total US debt has just jumped over the $18 trillion mark for the first time ever. With all of the other major problems we are facing as a country, this one might be the crow bar that finally shatters the camel’s back: It also means that total US debt to nominal GDP as of Sept 30, which was $17.555 trillion, is now 103%. Keep in mind this GDP number was artificially increased by about half a trillion dollars a year ago thanks to the “benefit” of R&D and intangibles. Without said definitional Read more […]

Important Federal Government Study: Why Are Lesbians Fat?

When you’ve got a national debt that’s $17 trillion and counting, $3 million is nothing. But having an exorbitant national debt that will never be repaid is no excuse to waste even a single taxpayer dime on frivolous curiosity studies. The feds want to know:  Why are most lesbians fat? And why is it that homosexual males are more likely to be fit than their heterosexual counterparts? I don’t know about you, but I don’t think there are more important questions that need to be answered Read more […]

“Unpatriotic and Irresponsible”: Obama’s Added $7 Trillion to National Debt

I know it’s not all Obama’s fault, per se. But truth be told, Obama blamed Bush personally for the astronomical national debt and deficits that were incurred during his tenure as President. If he can blame Bush for that, then we can blame Obama for doing the same thing. Except, in this case, it’s a lot worse than Bush. Here’s CNS News: The total federal debt of the U.S. government has now increased more than $7 trillion during the slightly more than five and a half years Barack Obama has Read more […]

The End Result Of Tax & Spend Philosophy

“A civilization must be judged by its standards, not by its expenditure.” – Amit Kalantri We are not a society which values means, but rather one that values ends. With that perspective, we can sometimes get lost. To achieve satisfactory ends, we must concern ourselves with the means. The two are inextricably linked. That concept is something not well understood by liberals. Liberals see a problem, and their solution is to throw money at it. A rising population of poor people? Raise taxes to Read more […]

State Department Spends $400,000 on Fiberglass Camel Sculpture

Jesus said that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. An artist created a sculpture of a life-size camel staring at the eye of a large needle. His work is called “Camel Contemplating Needle.” In a sort of twist of irony, the “rich” State Department is planning on buying it for $400,000 to be placed in the new U.S. embassy being constructed in Islamabad, Pakistan: The work, by noted American artist John Baldessari, depicts a Read more […]

Did the EU Bail Out the US in December?

It’s Wednesday. So it’s time for more bad news. If you’ve been paying attention, you will have already noticed that the United States is headed toward a cliff of imminent destruction at astonishing speeds. Our financial situation is dire, our political situation is dismal, our international situation is tenuous, and our cultural situation is pathetic. It’s sad. I didn’t think my generation would live to see this, but it looks like America is past the point of no return in its drive toward Read more […]
