England Considering Ban On Kitchen Knives

The slippery slope is usually considered to be a fallacious type of argumentation. By invoking the slippery slope, you are essentially saying that if one thing occurs at the top of this metaphorical slope, you have no other option but to slide down further. That being said–though it is often categorized with other fallacious argumentation, like ad hominem–slippery slope actually is applicable to some things.

For instance, consider the following story. According to The Inquisitor:

“A West Middlesex University Hospital group contends that violent crime is increasing in Great Britain and kitchen knives are used in approximately half of all stabbings. The team claims that many of the knife attacks are impulsive acts and that a kitchen knife is too convenient of a weapon.”

Apparently, in the wake of a rise in violent crime where the primary weapon used is long kitchen knives, a group of doctors is attempting to get those types of knives banned. This would be similar to measures taken in the 1990′s that put heavy restrictions on guns.

In England, gun restrictions are so harsh, that self defense–post 1969–is no longer a good enough reason to own a handgun. According to The Wall Street Journal, owning a pistol could get you up to 10 years in prison in the UK. With all of these gun restrictions, you’d think England would be a much safer place–at least according to Liberal logic. Well, not so much. Once again, according to The Wall Street Journal:

“Within a decade of the handgun ban and the confiscation of handguns from registered owners, crime with handguns had doubled according to British government crime reports. Gun crime, not a serious problem in the past, now is. Armed street gangs have some British police carrying guns for the first time…In 1987, Michael Ryan went on a shooting spree in his small town of Hungerford, England, killing 16 people (including his mother) and wounding another 14 before shooting himself. Since the public was unarmed—as were the police—Ryan wandered the streets for eight hours with two semiautomatic rifles and a handgun before anyone with a firearm was able to come to the rescue.”

So, in the face of the fact that gun restrictions have done absolutely nothing to prevent gun-related violence in England, you’d like to believe that people wouldn’t apply the same logic to anything else. Not so. This group of doctors wants to ban kitchen knives, with the intent of stopping knife-related violence. If they would simply look at the statistics, they would see that restriction does nothing to prevent violence.

The slippery slope is right in front of us. First, guns were restricted because of gun-related violence, now knives are being threatened. Once long kitchen knives are banned, people will just move on to something else: small kitchen knives, or anything sharp. From there, people will want to ban anything that can be used as a weapon. This will continue until each of us is in our own padded cell, in straight-jackets. Ok, maybe that’s a bit extreme, but I wouldn’t put it past Liberal “logic.”

It seems obvious to me that guns are not the problem; neither are knives. People are the problem. People with no empathy, no respect for life, and sometimes serious mental issues are the core problem. Yet in the face of all of this information, Liberals in America seem intent on becoming England. We’ve seen the bottom of the slope; England is halfway down. America’s foot is right on the edge.

The English people surrendered their rights. WE WILL NOT.

    • TedRWeiland

@texaselect I understand you sentiments. However, I would ask you to consider that our “rights” might actually be our downfall. I don’t know if you’re a Christian or not (and, if you’re not, you probably will not care) but the Bible knows nothing of rights, only responsibilities. Rights can be licensed and limited (look at what’s been done with the Second Amendment), responsibilities remain the same regardless what the government says or does.

For more, see blog article “Rights, Rights, Everyone Wants Their Rights” at http://www.constitutionmythbusters.org/rights-rights-everyone-wants-their-rights/.

      • MichaelPMcKinney

@TedRWeiland  @texaselect Yes, & our responsibilities is to keep our god given rights & freedoms.

        • TedRWeiland

@MichaelPMcKinney  @texaselect Michael, please read the article and you might see your statement, although is well-intended, is oxymoronic. Following is a sampling from the article:

The Scriptures provide no evidence of God-given (or unalienable) rights. Even life and liberty are not rights, but rather responsibilities delegated by Yahweh. Of course, rights are much more popular than responsibilities. Everyone, including homosexuals and infant murderers, demand their rights. Few are interested in fulfilling their responsibilities.

The Puritan idea of rights and liberty was quite different from what the constitutional framers had in mind:

“John Winthrop [first governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony] … reminded his fellow-citizens of Massachusetts that a doctrine of civil rights [as in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights] which looked to natural or sinful man as its source and guardian [as in the Constitution’s Preamble] was actually destructive of that very liberty which they were seeking to protect. True freedom can never be found in institutions which are under the direction of sinful men, but only in the redemption wrought for man by Jesus Christ. Christ, not man, is the sole source and guarantee of true liberty.”

R.J. Rushdoony pointed out the sophistry of governments based upon freedom:

“….[A] society which makes freedom its primary goal will lose it, because it has made, not responsibility, but freedom from responsibility, its purpose. When freedom is the basic emphasis, it is not responsible speech which is fostered but irresponsible speech. If freedom of press is absolutized, libel will be defended finally as a privilege of freedom, and if free speech is absolutized, slander finally becomes a right. Religious liberty becomes a triumph of irreligion. Tyranny and anarchy take over. Freedom of speech, press, and religion all give way to controls, totalitarian controls. The goal must be God’s law-order, in which alone is true liberty.”

      • anyoldjoe

@TedRWeiland  @texaselect Excellent point.  Every one of our God given rights has a corresponding responsibility, which we must see to properly in order to maintain the associated right.  The murderer, by shedding innocent blood, loses his own right to live.

      • texaselect

@TedRWeiland  Ted protecting our God Given Rights is not going to be our downfall. God helps those who help themselves. The difference between a free man and a slave is his ability to defend himself. I don’t buy the Constitutions myth busters garbage. I have the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights sitting in front of me with my Bible, and yes I am a Christian.

        • TedRWeiland

@texaselect I pleased to hear your a brother in Christ.

I wouldn’t expect you to “buy” the “garbage” on my say-so alone. However, as a Christian, I hope you would agree that there is only one test by which everything (including the framers and the Constitution) must be ethically judged–that is, Yahweh’s morality as codified in His commandments, statutes, and judgments. If you will agree to this and then actually examine the Constitution by this standard, I’m confident you will find as I have that there is hardly an article or amendment that’s not antithetical, if not hostile. to Yahweh’s sovereignty and morality.

  • cae973

Well seems to me forks are dangerous also and we know that inmates in prisons sharpen toothbrushes to use as weapons. Some inmates have even used pencils as weapons and I guess we would have to ban metal hangers, box springs and umbrellas as they have metal that could be used as a weapon. Oh right I almost forget underwire bras, lord knows how dangerous they are lol

  • marvs

Just who will take the guns and how?

    • jsmithcsa

      @marvs
They better be ready to fight for them, because I will fight to keep mine.

  • Jobahe

Practically anything you can put in your hands can kill someone,  so it seems insane to start banning everything !!!
Someone could be killed with……..a broken bottle, baseball bat,  tree limb,  table leg,  a neck scarf,  how about a kitcen fork,  a piece of rope!   You can run over someone and kill them with your vehicle are we going to ban all vehicles from the face of the earth?   Some people can kill with their bare hands…….we can’t ban people’s hands!

See how crazy this is all getting………the weapon’s aren’t the problem folks!!!!!!

    • Whackajig

You are correct, I can recall several young ladies admantly asking that I keep my hands off of them.

  • Oh Johnny

If only banning would help any form of violence against one another, the first thing I would ban is the presidents excutive orders, next I would ban Congress, then the Senate, next I would ban the the EPA, HSA, I suppose by now you get my point.
The secular progressives have no fear of God, they have not felt or believe in his power, but when we get to ankle deep in gun control, they may find this a little more than they can chew on, and pray to God they can find cover from those of us that believe in God and his power vs the power of the State or Federal Government.
    God Bless America!

    • jsmithcsa

      @Oh Johnny
Exactly right. When I joined the Army they taught me for two days that ANYTHING is weapon, then proceeded to prove it. They didn’t give me a rifle until the next week.

  • Racefish

From my understanding that the reason was because of that “pointy” end. I guess stabbing is what they fear. However, a Samurai Sword doesn’t have a point. I feel their logic is somewhat skewed.

  • cul8rg8r

More idiocity and attempts at brainwashery from the lemmings on the left. Maybe they’ll be coming after your hands next. After all, they can strangle someone to death.

  • LTCB

Arms will be forever available to anyone who does not worry about “law”.  You have to remember that these are CRIMINALS and, by definition do not care about “law”.  Do you think that cops cannot and do not and will not commit crimes USING THEIR GUNS?  You’ve not been to Chicago or any other big city.  And, if a criminal REALLY wants a good weapon and  a lot of ammo, he only has to ambush a cop.  Gets the body armor and radio with the other stuff.  Do not think this “ban” will bring you safety or security.  It will cause the loss of both of these.

Another example of do-gooderism run amok.  Just how do they expect people to prepare dinner?   Use hacksaws?    What is next on the British ban list?   Razor blades and toothpicks?

  • AndrewMicklos

There will be a booming trade in harpoons. At least you can keep the nuts at bay until   they get tired of killing your neighbors.

  • NunnyahBiz

    Right!
Weapons are NOT the problem, PEOPLE ARE!!!
Especially negligent parents and the way they raise, or don’t raise, their children!!!
99.9% of violent crimes can be traced to lack of proper parenting & proper discipline during childhood!!!
When the gov’t. banned spanking and said we have to “reason with a 2 year old”,(LMAO) that’s when kids started committing violent crimes before the age of 12.
Another thing that needs to be brought back is THE DRAFT!!! 3 years of military discipline shaped up a lot of wayward kids, before the bleeding heart, liberal, socio-communists started tying the hands of the drill instructors anyway!

Start raising kids RIGHT again and you’ll see violent crime drop drastically, especially when we teach them how to properly use and care for a firearm!!!

  • Bob Koomans

Disarmament is not the answer… why, even Jesus’ disciples carried side-arms… hence the fact that Peter cut off the ear of a Roman soldier while protecting his Master. Yes, IF ALL PEOPLE carried guns, then the crazies and the criminals surely would have them too. But they have them anyhow, as they are the ones who would more strongly RESIST a buy-back of weapons, and hide them. The sheep will have no great issue with giving up weapons, regardless of the fact that in an invasion, the majority cannot be defended by the Defence Forces alone, as they follow the Rules Of War, which often gets them executed anyhow (like in WW2 with Japan, shot, decapitated, or slavery). But dobctors asking for such stupid measures I can expect! – After all, they have been killing people for hundreds of years with poisons and unnecessary or botched surgery, while ignoring effective medicines from plants, like Apricot kernels dissolve cancers. They are the least moral group on the face of the planet after Nazis and Communists.

  • DeanBraun

How about banning the butter knife, the pocket knife, the table knife, whatever.  I always assumed the English people weren’t too smart.

    • Bob Koomans

@DeanBraun They would also have to ban ANY other weapon that could be used to kill people! – And my knowledge of the SAS (Commandos) tells me then, that it must outlaw all BALLPOINT PENS, and kitchen skewers, Asian kebab  skewer sticks, forks, pencils, why even our HANDS may need to be amputated! (hehehe… being sarcastic, obviously) – So, you can see the pure IDIOCY of such suggestions!

      • Bob Koomans

@DeanBraun Meaning IDIOCY of English ideas….

  • Arkismovin

Ah ahhhh, they will never know about my icy finger of death till it’s to late

  • americaswatchman

With all due respect, and no offense intended.

But have some people in England not learned that bans will not work.
Banning knives will not work to lower knife stabbings…
Just like banning guns did not work to lower gun violence…

In order to lower crime, the government should thru public education encourage the general public
to seek help if they feel like committing crime, and if they cannot afford it, they should provide it.

That way if or when someone is angry or disturbed to the point of killing innocent people,
they can seek out and get the type of help they need before that happens.

Bans obviously cannot and will not work. When will anti-weapon people learn this. Hopefully before it is too late.
Only bans on “Gun-free” zones might work. Because then legally armed people can defend themselves,
and others. And put an end to violent crime as it is happening, which will save lives.

God bless all of you, in the hopes he will guide you all to doing the right thing.

Also, do not forget, Jesus also condoned weapon ownership, as mentioned in the Holy Bible.

    Good day…

    • Batsin_Bellfry

      @americaswatchman
With all due respect to you too.
I agree that any ban will not stop crime. Just makes more criminals like prohibition did.
I believe that you are naive to think people will turn themselves in or “seek help” if they are angry. Do you realize what kind of ordeal you are put through if you walk into a hospital or police station. You will be locked up for at least 96 hours “for your own protection” and your home will be ransacked. Your freedoms will be severely restricted or disappear completely. Besides, most crimes are crimes of passion that happen quickly.
It is not the government’s responsibility or duty to educate the public about violence. By then it is too late. It is the parents’ responsibility to teach their own children how to get along with other people, to share, not lie, not steal, not hit, etc. It is the school’s duty to build on what the parents taught and reinforce the message.
You are completely incorrect on “gun free zones”. Newtown and Arora theater were both gun free zones. By definition, there are no “legally armed people” to defend in a no gun zone. That is an oxymoron. signs prohibiting guns just alters all criminals that they will not encounter resistance from their victims as they can kill with impunity. Basically “gun free zone” = “unarmed victim zone”
You are correct that Jesus advised His followers to get a sword to defend themselves. Luke 22:36 for those who don’t know where it is.

      • americaswatchman

        @Batsin_Bellfry
Thank you for the comments, and the respect.

I can see that we agree to disagree on some points.
No worries, you have a right to your opinion.

But I am not incorrect on “Gun-free” zones.
I think those should be banned, because they do not work to protect innocent
people from being hurt and/or killed by a madman with a gun.
Look at Newtown and Aurora for example… they did not help those people.

As for seeking help, true some people commit crimes out of passion,
but some also plan them, like the madman that shot up the school
in Newtown. He planned that. Most mass shootings are indeed planned out.
But if someone turns themself in, they do that of their own free will,
in exchange for the help they need so they do NOT hurt people.
So what you say happens when someone does, is much better than,
that person walking into someplace and killing innocent people.

At this point, all methods should be reviewed to find the best way to prevent
those kind of tragedies from happning again in the future.
Except gun control and gun-free zones of course, because they do not work,
        never have, never will.

Good day, God bless you, God bless America.

          @americaswatchman  @Batsin_Bellfry
Once you set your sights on insuring that something “never happens again” you have set yourself up for failure…..there is no way that anyone can prevent senseless murders from happening…they will happen no matter what the weapon…..we need to stop using that saying & stop thinking we humans can prevent murders…..only God can do that……

        • Whackajig

          @ilpatriot58  @americaswatchman  @Batsin_Bellfry

      I agree with you…

  • Batsin_Bellfry

I was so sure they would go after pitchforks first.
I heard from a resident in England that baseball bats are selling real well.
I saw on doomsday preppers that a lollipop could be a weapon. So can car keys, a pointy stick, throwing sticks, hands, feet, elbows, teeth, etc. Just about anything can be used as a weapon. Scalding cup of water, tea if in GB. But what are your odds when the troll has a firearm and you have a stick? The cops will arrive in 15 minutes to tape off the crime scene and photograph your dead body and the bodies of your spouse and children. The insane patients are running the asylum.

    • anyoldjoe

@Batsin_Bellfry “How do you defend yourself from an attacker with a pointy stick?”
      “A pointy stick?”

Life imitates art.  Perhaps you remember the Monty Python sketch about the self defense class where the instructor demonstrated fending off a pointy-stick-wielding attacker…with a revolver.

“You, come at me with this pointy stick”
      “I don’t want to…”

Crooks don’t usually volunteer for a fair fight.  The best way to keep the innocent from becoming victims is to arm them.

The Brits knew better, but they let them take their guns anyway.

That should scare those psycho’s who run around killing people.  Now they will have to use another kind of knife or a club.  It won’t work any more than banning guns did.  What idiots!

Bad think about England is that it is OK to rob and threaten someone – it is not OK to defend yourself.  I read where some guy was attacked with a knife; got stuck with it during a robbery and he hit the guy with his fist and knocked him out.  Bad guy filed a complaint – victim was arrested for criminal assault.  Those people in the UK are nuts.

  • James67

    Extremes?
Yes that is a fitting and good word for the Uk.
#1 They are extremely stupid. Cannot figure out it is a people problem which goes back to mans beginning in the garden of Eden. The Bible calls it sin and it does far more harm than any weapon you can devise. Guns, knives, clubs, etc. are simply tools to be used for good or evil.
#2 They appear to enjoy their misery. They let their politicians further set them up for even more trouble.
#3 They appear to be simple minded sheeply with a need for big brother to direct their lives for them.

Talk about stupid, wonder how long before America follows them? Or will they?

  • J Joy

Well, this is what happens when you take everyone’s guns away.  So, how is one to cut our food or do we now get to eat baby food?!?!?!?  This is stupid – work with the mental issues, the reasons these people want to kill but stop taking our society in the wrong direction.

  • Starliner

ROCKS, I say, are the next violence-inducing object to be banned in the UK! But, we need to establish what constitutes an “assault rock” and ban that first. Let them all drive on muddy paths, if their vehicles have not already been banned.

Many old people are killed by falling down stairs, so we need to outlaw stairs and old people.  at least that is how a liberweenie would think.

  • dudley74

I found out this afternoon that the son of a good friend was murdered in gun free New Jersey. My friend’s son was killed by a pipe blow to his head. He had sold some scrap metal to a salvage dealer and the dealers assistant saw “a lot of cash”, came back later to rob him. The police have arrested the murderer, and his mother as an accomplice.  Gee, maybe if he’d had a handgun to defend himself maybe he’d still be alive!

    • americaswatchman

      @dudley74
       Hello,

Yes, you are probably right. If that son had a firearm, his chances of surving would of be alot higher.

@ErikOsbun I don’t believe the English have lost their common sense. Remember, they are overwhelmed by foreign intruders to the point where the real English have no say in their lives. Hell, most of the residents are Muslim and asian. Sound familiar?

  • w5dxp

Human hands are the problem. Every gun or knife is used by human hands. That’s what needs to be outlawed – all human hands need to be amputated.

More wars have been fought and more people have died over religion than any other cause.

I am curious, if all that is good can be ascribed to God, then can all that is bad also be his fault?  What is important is a moral life, subscribing to the GoldenRule and the Ten comandments.  God and the church help reinforce these principles, but a strong person has them in his heart.

I really wish I were not sitting here typing this because it is sort of painful. If as  marcus welby said in a recent post

“Guns and knives are not the problem.  The human heart is the problem.  We all need a savior.  Jesus is his name.  Hearts truly turned toward God and accountable to Him do not murder.”

Then we wouldn’t be discussing all these evil events. I am coming to a couple conclusions I don’t like. Either Jesus is dead or he never ever lived. No devine savior could stand by and allow all the misery and evil we see today. Please stop your preaching about a savior until you can show some sign that he exists. Thank you

    • LTCB

@AndrewMicklos You err greatly.  Read the Bible some.  God, while still God, was legally NOT PERMITTED to be involved in our live BY US except under certain conditions.  One of those is FAITH IN HIM.  IF you have no faith in Him then, you have now the world you will have.  Satan is the “god of this world”.  Even Jesus called him that.  The demons were all upset with Jesus because they thought He had come too early to throw them into the pit.  He came to redeem the heart of men.  Yes, men are capable of incredible evil.  THey’re also capable of incredible good.  That’s when the love of Jesus is shining through.  And, ANYTHING done, not in His name will count for nothing because it was not done to honor Jesus, the only means of salvation.  There is NO other name under Heaven by which a man may be saved except the name of Jesus.

      • AndrewMicklos

@LTCB Why is it that satan pays so much more attention to us than god? It has taken 2000 years for some of you to get all your faith answers together. Give me facts not conjectior, not blind faith and most of all, not fear of permanent death.

        • LTCB

@LTCB Just in case you didn’t notice, I never mentioned the book of myths called the bible. That book has been written and re-written by men so many times nobody knows what to believe. Second problem is the connection to men. Men lie and manipulate others so that they may control them. I am not to be controlled by someone or some doctrine bent on telling me what is right and what is not. If you preacher types would stick to the golden rule you would have my attention.

        • LTCB

@AndrewMicklos You’re clearly in love with your own mind and thoughts so, have fun at the judgement.  If you really care about truth, you’ve got the address.  Be careful how you judge because with the same measure you will be judged.  If you want someone to “honor” your doctrines, then you need to consider honoring theirs.

        • James67

          @AndrewMicklos  @LTCB  Good question Andrew.
Simple answer. Because Satan knows his only hope is to destroy God’s creation. By destroying God’s creation and His plans to save men Satan hopes to prove God is not God or sovereign over His own creation.
His great desire is to be god.

        • James67

@AndrewMicklos  @LTCB The golden rule simply says, “do unto others as you would have them do to you”
Is it so terrible to want to see souls saved or to make men a little better as a result of God’s grace?
And as far as the Bible being my written and re-written by men, what men are you referring to? How has the Bible been re-written? What is your prof of this, please supply sources of documentation.
How would follow God’s Word make you or men in general a slave or any worse for following it?
In what ways would the world be any worse off if men chose to follow God’s Word?
Now examine yourself and your motives for such comments and for intelligent
answers examine the New Testament and God’s grace and love in Christ Jesus to men.
What could God do more than He has already done so that men could have free will and life more abundantly?

        • LTCB

@James67  @AndrewMicklos James, if Andrew wants, like the Bible Andrew, to know the truth, he will write.  If not, he’ll keep blogging.

    • kamaut longbabilon

@AndrewMicklos God is the same always. Jesus came to fix problems made by leaders of the churches (synagogues then) by making too many by-laws, causing misery instead of enlightenment. Churches today (at least 95% of them) don’t obey God, and He ignores their rebellious hides, and does not listen even to their prayers. It is WE who have to choose who to follow, man or God… and The Lord is not going to stoop down to man’s level. Churches refuse to listen to The Christ and His words in Matthew 5-17 on which contradict what they are teaching. As a result of disobedience, the “Curses” of the 2nd. Commandment are made by themselves. God has nothing to PROVE, only man does. And man proves only that he is easily brainwashed by governments, and must accept the consequences. Jesus chooses only those who truly follow HIM, and no other, and will lift them up and away when things get impossible (saved is the word)… just as in Noah’s day… and who drowned? … you know!

      • James67

@kamaut longbabilon  @AndrewMicklos Galatians 6:7-10 (NKJV) 7  Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8  For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9  And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

  • James67

A divine Savior who allows Good and Evil. Interesting subject. From the very beginning God created men making man in (His) image. That also means God made men with the ability to understand and chose to do right or wrong. Adam and Eve were the first to make the choice to disobey God and they ate of the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil. That produced sin and we still suffer sin even now. And even today we must make choices. Do we serve God or do we serve sin. As and individual you chose. Do I chose to follow Jesus Christ God’s way to salvation or do I follow the evil ways of the world. Mercy, love and patience. 2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV) 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. For a moment consider,(What would happen if God judged the evil of this world)? There would be no human life left. Romans 3:23 (NKJV) 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, We have all at one time or another sinned against God. Liars, thief’s, adulterers, and on and on. (The result would be condemnation) of all human life on earth. But here is the beauty of God’s plan. Romans 6:23 (NKJV) 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. God chose not to destroy human life off the earth but to save as many who would freely accept Jesus Christ. The free gift of salvation payed for by Christ brings us before God without sin. (BUT) That will end when the last person who will accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior does so. Then God will Judge righteous judgement. The Lord is not slack in His promises but long suffering that none might be lost. Be glad, Accept Jesus Christ and become part of His family. The Lord is merciful, loving and long suffering but soon enough judgement will come.

British subjects do not have a Constitution or a Bill of Rights that we enjoy as American citizens.  However, given the predisposition of the current Administration and Democrats who have shown little regard to the US Constitution, I suggest you stock up on knives because after the Dems are done with your firearms, your kitchen knives will be next.  Maybe they will right it into a future Obamacare mandate?

      San Antonio Shooting
On Sunday, 2 days after the CT shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, most of the people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theater started running and screaming. It’s like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant! Now aren’t you wondering why this isn’t a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting? There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone. So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened. Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week. Just thought you’d like to know.

  • Secondamendment

A good number of you are off course – This was a discussion on the foolishness of England’s folly of attempting to ban another inanimate object.  It’s not about Guns or Knives – IT’S ABOUT CONTROL.  The horrors of mankind stem from a lack of personal responsibility and accountability.  No one in their right mind believes banning an object will prevent man from using it for no good.  The left knows it and “WE” who think clearly always attempt to apply logic to their illogical actions.  It’s not about that – IT”S ABOUT CONTROL and nothing else.

  • AdrianVance

Let’s erase the gun, destroy all films, books, videos, TV programs including guns after we destroy all guns, every one.  Give our soldiers “Welcome Wagon” bags of gifts for invaders.  That’ll do it!!

    • steve holmes

@JimPeel They’re essentially doing that already with TV and all the drugs advertised on it. The proof is in how so many voted for o’bama (but romney is just a mini-o’bama, so it didn’t really matter if either one of them won)

      • LTCB

@AndrewMicklos  @Seymour Kleerly Why throw the insults?  Did I insult your gods of stone and metal and self?  You believe in “natural selection” and “evolution” I assume.  Did you know that Newton destroyed the concept of evolution as a possibility?  Did you know that even Darwin recanted the theory of evolution?  Not due to pressure from men either.  From his changed heart before God.  Darwin will be in Heaven.  He sought the only salvation for his soul.  Will you be as honest as Darwin?  Notice, i did not insult your beliefs.  Stop insulting mine.  There cannot be a discussion if there are insults flying.  Thought ceases and the desire to be “right” rules.

      • Seymour Kleerly

@LTCB  @AndrewMicklos I am proud to not believe in any myths. From Paul Bunyan to Noah’s ark .Worse yet  myths such as Christ and Mohammed rising to heaven are firmly implanted in children’s minds and the fear of eternal death provides a powerful barrier to reality. Most of us recognize this around puberty and critical thinking has begun.

      • steve holmes

@Seymour Kleerly  @LTCB  @AndrewMicklos Seymour, you ought to read more. There are at least four books written by people who went to Heaven met Jesus, and returned. Usually, they were not religious beforehand.

  • kamaut longbabilon

@AndrewMicklos @ LTCB… the essential problem here is that you think the Bible is a MYTH, and think that man can have laws that He makes and can stick by. The claim that the Bible was corrupted by men is something I heard from radical Muslms a few months ago, I allowed them a time to explain themselves, to an unsatisfactory outcome: Are you Muslim LTCB? In any case, man can NEVER follow his own rules without trying to avoid them, even you should know that. God said that in many ways as well… YET He gave us the “Constitution” of the relationship we must have with Him to belong to To Him, and show all due respect and obedience and honour to The Almighty Creator, King over all kings. What we have though, at this time is only a very small percentage of churches keeping the rules of God, and therefore do not belong to Him. Jesus gave a clear and concise witness to what He was doing on Earth in Matthew 5-17, where He says that he never destroyed the Law or Prophets: Yet churches lie and teach otherwise, or at least bury that truth deep in case anyone found out and started querying the practices of their pastors/priests. It is true that the Book has been re-written many times, but each time it has kept fairly intact, the essential words and relative context, with one exception caused by the error of understanding biblical context in the part where Y’shua (Jesus – badly spelt and pronounced, and never corrected to modern English ability to pronounce Hebrew well.) – was speaking to the thief next to Him who was also about to die… some punctuation errors that changed the meaning… (Punctuation was invented about 1440AD in Italy). But we do see that Man NEEDS a LAW far HIGHER than his own humanity, because without that, we weaken our own laws until “what was GOOD becomes wrong, and what is wrong becomes GOOD”… Like we voters stupidly voted for the termination (abortion) of human babies, on the belief that they were “just a blob with no humanity yet” (disproven) and has gone further to allow post partum abortion (actual murder of a born baby) – and now SSM amongst gays. The very fact that we see such in our own lifetime and witness it is enough to say that ONLY God can give Laws which no man can REALLY change, but only “Think” to change (Prophetic, and so far Prophecy from God has been 100% completed to date, including the date to the year of Israel being given back to the descendants of the Jews that escaped from Jerusalem (also a prophecy that many believed, and acted on, which SAVED them from annihilation like those that stayed behind, unbelieving).

  • LTCB

@AndrewMicklos  @James67 Anderew, your concept of “God” is apparently pretty small and limited.  And your understanding of Him is even more limited.  Why would I want to serve a “god” who could not speak to me in some way, make Himself known to me in some way and that could not help me in times of trouble in some way?  Why would i serve a God who did not love me and care about me?  Selfish?  Yes.  And your point?  I believe that God can and does hear me cry out for help.  I have seen His power and majesty.  Until you’ve seen the miracles of God you will not believe but, will you even believe when you see His hand of power?  You say, “show me God”.  I say, God has shown you Himself many times in your life and you’ve refused to listen and hardened your heart because, to hear the voice of God requires a response on  our parts.  He will meet you more than half way.  But, you cannot mock Him and expect answers.  He is not a doormat for you to use at your leisure.  He is the very source of your being and existence and the only and sole purpose for your being on this planet.  i challenge you to challenge HIM; honestly, to reveal Himself in your life.  Don’t want to?  Coward if you won’t.

@AndrewMicklos Andrew – If you have read James67 (above) & LTCB (below) ? They both present reasonably clear “apologetics” to the problem. “No divine savior could stand by….” is amiss. In the divine equation, human free will to choose good or evil is the operating “constant” in this “fallen world” system.  This “fallen world” system is dangerous because of rebellion. The “innocent” will continue to fall victim to those who choose evil. Or, you can deny it all & pretend that we are just biological semi-automatons, driven by internal chemistry, genetics and environment. In which case, Judeo/Christian understanding is useless blather.  Jesus, B.T.W. did indeed live, & his resurrection will stand up in court – fully defensible!  As to a sign – Jesus said – “An evil generation demands a sign. No sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.”   (i.e. – even if “you” got a sign, you still would not accept it.—-he was right.) I humbly invite you to reconsider — as many of us have done.

Ha ha ha!   “..violent crime is increasing in Great Britain and kitchen knives are used in approximately half of all stabbings. The team claims that many of the knife attacks are impulsive acts and that a kitchen knife is too convenient of a weapon.”  Too convenient in the kitchen too for preparing dinner!   Next it will be cricket bats or tire irons they outlaw because that will be the next weapon of choice. And then something else. Pretty soon there will be no sports and you can’t change a tire!

This author is behind the power curve.  Bureaucrats in the UK have been considering banning ALL pointy knives for several years now.  It’s just getting more traction as national healthcare bureaucrats are getting more aggressive in their lobbying efforts.  Hell this is nothing!  Two years ago there were even calls in Scotland to ban all glass beer mugs in bars because of a rash of bar fights in which some participants smashed their glass beer mugs and used the broken glass to attack their opponent.  The government was seeking to mandate ‘plastic’ beer mugs, which real beer drinkers and bar owners were denouncing as sacrilegious.  Plastic doesn’t hold the cold for one thing, although they tend to drink their beer a bit warmer than we do anyway.  But the fact is, the British government simply CANNOT keep its mitts out of people’s lives.  They’re utterly dedicated to micromanaging everyone’s lives to the ‘nth’ degree.  I spent a month in that country in 1999 and found it unbearably repressive.  Nice place to visit, but I would NEVER want to live there, certainly not as a citizen.  You truly are nothing more than a subject / servant of the state.  They have all our problems, and then some.

Andrew you are limited in your understanding and thinking of God by your little mind. You are trying to fit God in your little box and it will never work.
Colossians 1:12-16 (NKJV) 12  giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13  He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14  in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. 15  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16  For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
Stop and think about it God created the heavens and earth.
He also created the tiny atom and all the elements that make up everything we know.

To “LTCB,” although you were not as blunt as those criticizing your beliefs, you definitely did insult their beliefs as “dishonest” and also foolish in worshipping stone and metal.

Although I am not a believer, I respect religion (actually, because of the constantly increasing Muslim onslaught against Western values and beliefs, my respect of religion does not extend to Islam).  I also am trained in paleontology, the study of evolution.  That study included a thorough examination and familiarity with Darwin, and nowhere did Darwin recant the reality of evolution.

And since we have been talking about insults, I should point out that it is deliberately insulting to endlessly refer to evolution as a “theory,”  which is nothing more than an attempt to denigrate evolution.  Evolution may have been a “theory” in 1859, 154 years ago, when Darwin first published, but today, evolution is accepted as an incontrovertible fact by the scientific community.

I am not especially knowledgeable in Newtonian physics (which has been replaced in many areas by quantum mechanics), so I would like to ask how Newton destroyed the concept of evolution as a possibility.

It’s too late to wish you a merry Christmas (note: I do not replace that phrase with “merry winter solstice”), but it’s still time to wish you a happy new year, which I do.

@Rosie6600 Psalms 33:1-22 a great to read to assist you in becoming a believer if that is something that you would like to do.  GOD gives us a choice to believe or not to believe because HE wants us to make a choice. The end for a believer and those who do not  believe is at opposite poles and can help us make the decision.

      16. There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
      17. An horse is a vain thing for safety:neither shall he deliver any by his great strength
      18. Behold ,the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear HIM, upon them that hope in HIS mercy;
      19. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
      20. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: HE is our help and our shield.
      21. For our heart shall rejoice in HIM, because we have trusted in HIS HOLY NAME.
      22. Let thy mercy, O lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

May GOD bless you in the reading this HIS WORD if you choose to do so.

Kitchen Knife Ban Results in Huge Reduction in Crime
After banning kitchen knives six months ago crime has dropped dramatically.  As knives were confiscated, people found they could no longer cut meat and other foods to feed themselves and nearly half the population has died of starvation. As a result, criminals have had great difficulty finding victims to prey upon. Most of the remaining citizenry have been reduced to going about their lawns on their hands and knees to graze for food.
Prime Minister Ian Fendergast announced that this has been the biggest success for liberal policies in his lifetime. Further, due to the overwhelming success of the Anti-Knife Ban, parliament will next begin discussing a ban on drinking water to prevent drowning.

    • steve holmes

@NaramSin I think o’bama is considering that, too!

    • ashman1

@NaramSin I hereby nominate you for a Pulitzer Prize and recommend you for a full hour program on G4 or SyFy.  Most clever and entertaining, and the TV channels I suggest are far more unbiased than MSNBC and the rest of the loose screw leftist rags.

      • steve holmes

@ashman1  @NaramSin Maybe next year. I’m just starting my “Conspiracy Trilogy” set of 3 novels now

      @NaramSin PRICELESS!

@NaramSin How many people can be killed in one minute during by an attacker using  drinking water?

England Just Like Here In The States. They Take Away The Citizens Rights in Gun ownership…that didn’t work because Crime is Up all over the UK…so they move past that mistake and go after knifes…when crime continues to go up they will go after 2 x 4′s and on and on and on…These People like our Congress must have the IQ of a blade of grass…sorry Blade Of Grass…had to use something for an example!! Our Congress and Our State Government through its Board of Education was the Mad Man Behind the recent Killings with their “Gun FREE ZONE SIGNS”, and all those that endorsed this Foolishness!!! But hey after more citizens get killed then we here in America will also feel it is time to make stricter laws and knifes will be a good next option…God Knows It Can’t Be Our Foolish Congress…after all we Elected them…didn’t we???

  • FrancesCampbell

crime is so rampant now in england that they may have to allow firearms for self protection.. the crime rate is horrendous from the influx of huge numbers of eastern europeans from previously communist countries  and the influx of huge numbers of muslims .  these last 2 groups are now the underclass and they are being supported and subsidized  completely by dwindling numbers of working british.  the underclass has nothing to offer soiciety so they become complete parasites from cradle to grave.  eventually the west  will learn that communists and islamists cannot live peacefully in western society.. they have no ethics,  and their political ideology is the very antithesis for the judeo-christian  groups  who do the work and provide the tax dollars that support this underclass.. this will end well

  • URKiddinMee

I think they should ban procreation in England.  Perhaps the liberal wuss gene would die out by the next generation.

  • GeorgeKish

Soon the only thing left in England will be the accent……………if the Muslims allow it.

  • Seymour Kleerly

@ilpatriot58  @americaswatchman  @Batsin_Bellfry But should a potential senseless murderer have a Bushmaster? A knife or even a basic hand gun would be far more preferable (for the victims).

  • americaswatchman

I for one believe in God, and his son Jesus. Always have always will. I know for a fact they exist.
It has been proven to me many times. So trying to convince me they do not exist is impossible.
Do not waste your time by trying, it cannot and will not happen. Period.

I have read the bible, so I know for a fact, that bearing arms and self-defense and the defense of others,
Is a God given right. Therefore, any gun-control laws are not only unconstitutional, but also unGodly.
In addition, those people who try to infringe on those Godly and Constitutional rights, will have a fight on their hands,

With the people that have the guts to stand up for them and defend them, such as our US military,
as well as any other God-fearing, law-abiding concerned American Patriot. Such as myself.
I do feel sorry for all of you that refuse to believe in God and his son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
For when the day of judgment comes, you will be judged harshly, and may not be invited into the
Kingdom of Heaven, where the rest of us will be.

By the way, with the bigger threats against the US such as hostile to the USA countries now becoming,
or already have been nuclear armed, we here in the US should stop hurting ourselves internally,
Thru arguing, debating, infringing on each other’s rights. Then unite and come together to get ready
To fight the external threats that are coming our way, by arming ourselves, stocking up supplies,
Train, practice, and get ready for the fight of our lives. If we want to continue to have our United States of
America and all the freedoms we have enjoyed. Then we must all come together and become the…
    United States again.

We should learn to respect each other’s differences and remember one major thing..
All of us that were born and are here legally are all AMERICANS!!!
It does not matter that some of us are white, black, Asian, Hispanic, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, male, female, etc…

We are all AMERICANS… always have been, always have been. So let’s all stop and get along!!
And I have one solution if any of you do not like or live by the rules here, and cannot learn to get along,
Then GET out and move to another country, where you think you can get along.

No one is forcing you to stay in this country, and with this being a free country, you have the freedom to leave.
In addition, God bless you wherever you go, and whatever you do.

    Enough said… God bless America.

    • Seymour Kleerly

@americaswatchman I believe in God but don’t know for sure since I’m only human. I am positive that Christ existed but of course do not believe in the Mythology surrounding him. Since you have proof of Christ’s supernatural  powers please share them since I’d love to believe also. Thanks.

      • americaswatchman

        @Seymour Kleerly
         Hello Seymour.
I am glad you believe in God. But you should have enough faith to be sure.
The only proof I have is what God and/or Jesus has done for me in my own life.

And like I said, they have done many things for me, even when I have not asked.

One simple example I have is, there was at least one event in my life that should of
killed me, no doubt about that, there was NO way anyone could of lived thru it,
but I am alive now because of them.

I could go on, I have so many more. But I do not want to write a novel here,
of every notable event that has happened to me.

Another example is, when I pray for something, I get what I pray for more most
of the time. More often than not at all. At least when I pray for something really
        important.

I would also say Jesus’s powers are not supernatural, but given to him by his father,
        GOD.

But my word on all subjects I speak of is as good as gold, honesty is the only policy for me, so when I tell you they exist, and they are still alive, that is the truth.

        So help me GOD.

God bless you with the ability to see his light and be sure about his existence,
as well as that of his son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

        Good night…

        • Seymour Kleerly

@americaswatchman So if you had died then there would be no God? Your miraculous comeback (like millions of others experience) certainly was wonderful but no less natural. Just because you defied the odds bigtime, does not prove an interventionist God. It most certainly has nothing to do with a scruffty Bleeding Heart Liberal who died gallantly 2000 years ago fighting GREED. I am aware that faith is a powerful force, so that could have helped. Glad you’re here.

        • americaswatchman

          @Seymour Kleerly
           Hello Seymour,
If I had died there would still be GOD.
But in my case, the only reason I am alive is because of GOD.
There is no doubt in my mind, I was there, it happened to me.
          So I know of what I speak…

          Good night..

        • Seymour Kleerly

@americaswatchman So if you lived there is a God and if you died there is a God. Nice proof. I take it you were not a detective or a scientist.

        • RobertAlexander

@Seymour Kleerly  Jesus was not liberal, and everything about him, every page of scripture is about him, all which foretold came to pass, just like the REST of the STORY coming.

I’ve died Seymour – you’d better be prepared, not many get a second chance… but feel free please to roll those dice, cuz it feels good – I know.

        • Evermyrtle

@Seymour Kleerly  @americaswatchman Exactly who is it, that you are trying to convince that our GOD is not the ALMIGHTY GOD? I suspect that it is yourself that you are trying to convince, because if you follow HIM you need to get rid of your lies and your hatred, and you are having too much fun cutting down all the others who believe and have the strength to stand up for what they believe. Well, “When The “Roll Is Called Up Yonder,” your name will be called and your will be faced with all the things that you have done while on this earth and none of your lies will work, even if by any chance you were able to speak, but speaking will not be necessary, He has complete records.

        • RobertAlexander

          @Evermyrtle  @Seymour Kleerly  @americaswatchman
I Peter 5.8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. — both non_believers and antiChrist_Christians in name.

They R confused. It ALWAYS comes down to Commandments #1&2&10 which 1& 10 are always tied to every one in fact 1 is 10 and visa versa, it can be no other way – these people are full of hatred to God as are many that call themselves ‘Christians’ and are too blind to see. Some of them come out of the closet of lies and admit truth, and it’s only those that matter anyway, so look for it and use Scripture.

THOU shall have NO Other gods before me.
A common theme when we obey is Jer 25.6
Not everyone has the covenant or is charged with it 2 kings 17.35-36
Psalms 139.21-24 is a part of scripture and some do fall into that pit.
Psalms 81.8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me; 9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god. 11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. 12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels. 15 The haters of יהוה (YAH) should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

It’s always the HEARTS lusts that drive the dead dry bones either for their own counsels or away towards Yah’s with an approved LUST renewing the spirit.

          Psalms 83.2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. 3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. 5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: 6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; 7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

The WORD, GATES, REPENT, FAITH/TRUST, OBEDIENCE, ??????

          Jeremiah 7.
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from יהוה, saying,
2 Stand in the gate of יהוה’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of יהוה, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship יהוה.
3 Thus saith יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of יהוה, The temple of יהוה, The temple of יהוה, are these.
          5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other elohim to your hurt:
7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

Israelite’s around the Globe in their MANY nations default obstinance in her adamant heart toward of HER God Yahweh the living Jesus is to reject the FIRST commandment.

Since you can not serve two masters, Yah the living risen Jesus is displaced in their heart/mind because of that driving lust we all serve either for GOOD or for evil. You just “Gotta Serve Somebody” it’s hardwired in the DNA of mankind, choose this day whom you will serve. It may be the devil or it may be the ‘Lord’ But you’re gonna have to serve somebody. You may be the head of some big TV networkYou may be rich or poor, you may be blind or lameYou may be living in another country under another name. But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes You’re gonna have to serve somebody. Might be a rock ‘n’ roll addict, prancing on the stageMight have money and drugs at your command and women in the cageYou may be a business man or some high degree thiefThey may call you doctor or they may call you chief. Now you may be a preacher with your spiritual pride. You may be a city councilman taking bribes on the side. But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.

Luke 6.46 “And why do you all call me `Master, Master’ and yet not do what I tell you? – LUST in the heart expels YAH and eventually becomes a recalcitrant beast.

ALL PEOPLE live their lives by the roadmap of their hearts.
WE ALL Serve either TRUE God or the gods of our lusts of choice and are subservient to WHICHEVER laws indwell our being.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@RobertAlexander Christ railed against GREED every day. Never heard a Conservative do that any day, let alone die for it.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Evermyrtle  @americaswatchman I did not know that i needed to include the word “almighty” when i professed by belief in God. Sometimes I forget that this is the SLOW CLASS.

        • americaswatchman

          @Seymour Kleerly
God’s existence or lack of existence does not depend on whether I am alive or not. But my life and existence depends on God.
He brought me into this world, and he can take me out any time.

My proof that they exist is the things they have done for me and others
in my life, that I have asked them to help.

That is enough proof for me.

I do not have to have their existence to be verified by science to believe.

          Good day…

        • Seymour Kleerly

@americaswatchman You were the one who said that beating the odds on your near death experience was proof of God’s existence. Then said , if you’d died, to you that would prove God’s existence also. I also doubt you were a successful lawyer or judge. Your kind of proof is not too convincing. Sleep tight.

        • steve holmes

@Evermyrtle  @Seymour Kleerly  @americaswatchman See More sees less. Writing to him is wasting time. That’s why I haven’t jumped in on the conversation. It’s his loss. God still believes in him, though.

        • americaswatchman

          @Seymour Kleerly
           Seymour,
You seem to still be just not getting it.
God’s existence does not depend on me.
          My existence depends on him.
GOD and/or Jesus saved my life that day.
Just as if some person had pushed you out of the way of a speeding
car and saved your life, as an example.
I have always believe in GOD because of the many things he has done for me,
when GOD does things for you, you can feel that it was him, leaving you with
no doubts as to who did it.
I am really sorry you are not sure.
I hope that GOD blesses you some day, with the ability to see his light,
and then you will be left with no doubts about his existence.

By the way, I have never been a detective, scientist, lawyer, or judge.
And would not want to be any of them. Unless so ordered by GOD.

          GOD bless you…  Good night…

        • Seymour Kleerly

@steve holmes  @Evermyrtle  @americaswatchman God better believe in me cause i’m right here!

        • Ignorance is bliss

@Seymour Kleerly   If you are so sure of everything, where exactly is here? If not for faith, what has your “existence” done? You talk like somehow you think you matter. The funny thing is, you only truly matter to God. And you disown that? Interesting..

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Ignorance is bliss Did you miss the part where I said I believe in GOD?

        • Evermyrtle

@Seymour Kleerly  @Ignorance is bliss Satan believes in GOD, too. It takes more that that!!

        • Balok

          @Seymour Kleerly  @americaswatchman
Proof of the existence of God, can be extrapolated from the Law of Universal Entropy.
Basically stated, it says that all things move from the complex to the simple; from the ordered to the unordered.
Without an intelligence to reverse this, life, an arguably more complex structure than say dust, would never have formed in the first place.
God may not be exactly as envisioned by men, but the question of His existence is self evident.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Balok  @americaswatchman That’s how I choose to see it too!

      • Evermyrtle

@Seymour Kleerly  @americaswatchman Most heathens do believe that , even your master knows all about JESUS CHRIST. He was in heaven with HIM until he was thrown out because he thought he could overpower GOD and take HIS place. Satan and all of his demons are in a constant state of fury and violent rage, because of that fact. They will continue to fight until the are cast into the lake.  I think it is called, lake of fire and  HELL.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Evermyrtle  @americaswatchman  Well at least you can still recite your lessons from childhood indoctrination!

        • Evermyrtle

@Seymour Kleerly  @americaswatchman Can you do the same??

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Evermyrtle  @americaswatchman It’s nothing to be proud of since it’s not reality.

  • Beattle

Seymour;  Sorry to disappoint you.   My comment was nothing more than pure common sense.   Only a “very simplistic” man such as you would not recognize the fact  everything said, is not necessarily political.  Nothing is
going to keep a Brit from attacking someone with a chair, a broom or even a suitcase.  Take your pick.
    Typical lib.

    • Seymour Kleerly

      @Beattle I’m talking about killing 10, 20 people!

    • Evermyrtle

@Beattle You are wasting your time trying to reason with Seymour, he is one of Satan’s  favorite demons, put here by Satan to harass every Christina that he possible can. if you do not believe that , follow his slimy train for awhile.

    Yep

Sorry Seymour. I’d love to meet you in Heaven one day. , but i DON’T THiNK YOU’ll LET YOURSELF.   Remember going to Hell is your problem you choose it.

    • Seymour Kleerly

@jackolantyrn356 Why can’t I get to heaven again?

      • James67

        @Seymour Kleerly  @jackolantyrn356
“Why can’t I get to heaven again?
interesting question. When were you in heaven before?
Maybe some simple guide lines for the benefit of the whole group would help.
Paul lays out the guide lines for anyone who would desire to go to heaven. All we have to do is to follow the directions. Simple as a map to salvation.
Romans 10:6-13 (NKJV) 6  But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7  or, ” ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8  But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9  that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11  For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12  For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13  For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

        • RobertAlexander

@James67  @Seymour Kleerly  @jackolantyrn356 READ Deut 30 with this please.

This is not about going to heaven at all.
Again, there is no FLY AWAY place revealed in scripture which any of Gods people FLY away to for eternity.

This is about the BIBLICAL story traversed through the whole of the Gospel of God which MOST refuse because of an obstinate heart. This is the BIBLE STORY from Genesis to Revelations in a paradigm view which only those who KNOW a majority of scripture in context can comprehend – it’s so simple the gnats strained at to see this forest in the trees is astounding.

THIS IS AGAIN regarding the COMMANDMENTS of GOD, HIS LAW IN YOUR HEART – OBEDIENCE to him and that in & thru & by & because etc of Christ  FULFILLED all the scriptures to join you knuckle heads together – i.e. Two sticks, Ones STILL UNDER but not for long – Covenant, and those which were in dispersion. This would be worthy of a short10 hour exposition, maybe 20 but for those who will not submit – a million hours wouldn’t be enough and a wast of time, yet a 100 hours would not fully cover this chapter.

        • servant

@James67  We do NOT fly away? Then explain John14:1-3 and then Rev. 21:1-3.
Matthew 26:64  Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
1 Thessalonians 4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
However Deut. 30 taken to its depths is a true study worthy of our time.

        • James67

          @Seymour Kleerly  @jackolantyrn356
          Interesting?
But for all the replies???????? I simply say this is about salvation.
          Have a great day.

Revelation 21:1-8 (NKJV) 1  Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2  Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3  And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4  And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” 5  Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” 6  And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7  He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8  But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

        • Seymour Kleerly

@James67  @jackolantyrn356  If one does not accept Jesus as son of God, can I be saved? How about Thomas Jefferson, Irvivng Berlin, the Dali Lama, etc.?

        • steve holmes

@Seymour Kleerly  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 Sorry, Seymour. You’re just hopeless. Maybe find a religion where you’ll have future lives and hope that works out for you.

        • Seymour Kleerly

          @steve holmes  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 I guess you can’t answer that one!

        • Evermyrtle

@steve holmes  @Seymour Kleerly  @James67  @jackolantyrn356  Oh Steve, he is working with every move of his finger, the answer for him can be found in Matthew 25: 31-46, but I bet he does not read it and if he does he will commit what is written in Revelation 22:18-21. Don’t be surprised when he answer this one, anything may come out of that finger, it is like a poisonous striking snake..

        • James67

          @Seymour Kleerly  @jackolantyrn356
Ok Seymour lets deal with the real issues in answer to your question.
1# All men are sinners and there will be no peace until the issue of sin is dealt with.  Here is the true nature of men.
Romans 3:10-18 (NKJV) 10  As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; 11  There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 12  They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” 13  “Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”; 14  “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” 15  “Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16  Destruction and misery are in their ways; 17  And the way of peace they have not known.” 18  “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
In short you, me and all men are liars, thieves, adulterers, etc, etc. You and man kind are sinners in need of a savior.
2#  Romans 6:23 (NKJV) 23  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to become a perfect sacrifice to pay for the sins of the world. He alone did that for you and me. He alone was perfect for the job. (Without sin)
Therefore Jesus Christ alone (could pay for your sin). The others you mentioned are sinners in need of a savior just like you and me.
Because Jesus was sinless and death could not hold Him He alone could proclaim
John 14:6 (NKJV) 6  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
It is the difference between perfection and life and death.
That perfection comes to us only through Jesus Christ.

        • steve holmes

@James67  @Seymour Kleerly  @jackolantyrn356 I guess it’s good that you write to Seymour to straighten him out. It being that he’s writing so much, he probably won’t admit it but he’s SEEKING the truth.

        • James67

          @steve holmes  @Seymour Kleerly  @jackolantyrn356
Hi Steve. Thanks for the encouragement.
Good you have a heart of compassion. I would encourage you to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit when ever the Lord puts it on your heart to do so.
          Blessings
          Jesus Christ is Lord.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@James67  @jackolantyrn356 So I guess you guy’s can’t answer the question directly.  Are those great men denied heaven? A simple answer please.

        • ashman1

@Seymour Kleerly  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 Seymour; you present with classic symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It is obvious you want to control those who comment and this does not lead you to any satisfactory results. I would strongly encourage you to seek psychological treatment for the disorder. People may even learn to tolerate your presence.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@ashman1  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 Ok. I muttled through the post of James67 and did find the answer. It is clearly NO!  These great humans and all those who precede Christ are burning in hell. Sad and scary. You’re idiots! This is 2013, not 1264.

        • James67

          @Seymour Kleerly  @ashman1  @jackolantyrn356
Well Seymour you finally got something right. It is 2013. So what is your point?
Technology has changed but the nature of man and his need for Christ remains the same.
Get real and get honest for once. No one is impressed with your empty answer.

        • steve holmes

@Seymour Kleerly  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 everybody has a chance to go to heaven. God gives that one last chance after the body is dead. I’d thus have to say that even Hitler got the chance.

        • Evermyrtle

@steve holmes  @Seymour Kleerly  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 If you do not accept JESUS CHRIST, you do not get another chance, so you had better get prepared. When we are gathered together, the deciding is over. Read Matthew 25: 31-46

        • James67

@steve holmes  @Seymour Kleerly  @jackolantyrn356 Please sight your sources.
          Thank you.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@steve holmes  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 What happens to the poor Chinese guy who never heard of Christ and was indoctrinated in Budahism?  Bernie Goldberg of Fox News?  The Dali Lamma? Also, if Hitler got a second chance after death, and choose to accept  Jesus, he goes to heaven!!!!   Say it ain’t so.

        • James67

@Seymour Kleerly  @steve holmes  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 Ok Seymour I am going to make it simple for you.
Your questions are empty of any real content and therefore my answers to you are little more than busy work. And I do not care much for your busy work.
Anyone who does not have the opportunity to hear about Christ is judged according to his or her works.  Romans 2 and Revelations 21
And Hitler and all of his ilk had many chances to hear the Word of God and chose to go their own ways.
You are not saved by works but by God’s grace. Eph. 28-9.
I wish you the best and hope you are wise enough to look up what God has to say and open your mind and heart to it.
          Jesus Christ is Lord.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@James67  @steve holmes  @jackolantyrn356 Sir, my questions quite specific and important. You can’t answer honestly since it would prove that you think all Jews, the Dali Lama, Mohammad Ali, etc. will not get to heaven. Also that Hitler could. You’re arrogance is only exceeded by your ignorance.

        • steve holmes

@Seymour Kleerly  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 My source is “Heaven” by Randy Alcorn. It’s a whole book about heaven and such things. So, no more questions from you until you READ this book. Then, write to Randy since he’s pretty much an expert on it.

        • servant

@Seymour Kleerly  4Give my nose, for butting in, but YOU are right! We have but one chance to get right with God, but that is spread out over our entire life, from the age of personal accountability and ends with each of our last and final breath!
But ONLY God knows the heart, and the amount of Light/Truth, each has received.
Yet any who knowingly reject God, will by Him also be rejected, as for those unbelievers, heaven would be as so many think hell will be!
The Bible does not teach a 2nd change as so many think the 7 years stands for, or that all in Christ will be rapture outa here, before the tribulations begin. They are not up on Daniel and Revelation, as one can’t know one without the other!

          @servant  @Seymour Kleerly
          Greetings to you and blessings
Thank you for the introduction to Longlifechoices. I found it interesting and informative. I have marked it for further study.

Hebrews 9:23-28 (NKJV) 23  Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24  For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; 25  not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another– 26  He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27  And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28  so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
          God bless
          Jesus Christ is Lord.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@servant  Accepting God is completely different from accepting Christ. At least to most people on earth and every other thinking species in the universe. Still why would a just God punish a human for using his intellect instead of submitting to indoctrination.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@steve holmes  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 Just don’t post ridiculous thing and we’ll be fine.

        • steve holmes

@Seymour Kleerly  @James67  @jackolantyrn356 why do you pay attention “ridiculous” things? Don’t you have more important things to deal with?
I make a post about the moon being made of cheese, would that cause you to respond to it?
We respond because you seem to be a lost soul searching but afraid to admit it. If that’s ridiculous to you, then just ignore it!

        • servant

@James67  @Seymour Kleerly AMEN! Just planting seeds, as best as able, and know that God will see to the watering and feeding.
          Yours in Christ jb

        • servant

@Seymour Kleerly  God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, are the full Godhead!  These Divine entities with one common purpose, but each with a different “JOB”.
John 10:30  I and my Father are one.
God punishes those who by free-will sin, continually, and never repent of them., but ONLY after the Judgement, just before Christ returns! Sins DO have consequences just ask any liar, but God’s punishments comes after the second death, and Hell fire’s one and only use the Lake of Fire in Revelation.
Satan is our enemy not God!, yet it is HE that gets the blame!

Doctors are fools, just like government politicians- – “book smart, common-sense stupid”!  So, tell me, if they “ban kitchen knives”, just how does any cook  prepare a meal!  But, be sure, government fools, that you take away the very last line of defense any individual might have!  In spite of your “gun ban”, I notice the royals still “hunt” – -what do they use, bows and arrows?

    As I have said before,
I do not need scientific proof or anything like that to know that God and Jesus exist.
I know they exist because of the miracles and things I have seen them do with my own eyes
    for myself and others.
I have hear their voice, felt their presence, warmth, strength, love, etc.

So I have absolutely positively no doubts at all about their existence, I am 110% convinced of their existence.
And there is NOTHING that can be said or done that will ever change my mind, that is final, end of story,
    period!
So if any of you want to try to convince me, Please do not. It would be a waste of your time and energy.

Good day, and God bless you, and more importantly, God help and bless America…

    • Akingu88

@americaswatchman Lemming. pure and simple, christlings are all lemmings: mindless, ignorant, stupid, weak-minded lemmings who parrot the jewish pablum like good dogs. Pray in one hand and crap in the other and tell us which one fills up faster. Better yet, stand in front of a gang of negroid gang bangers and pray to your jew god to stop them from murdering you. Will you do it or follow your common sense and not do it? Hypocrites like you are the reason humanity has slid so far down the slope of idiocy and pussification of all the white males. You can shove your BS christinsanity right up your liberal arse. I’ll enjoy Natures Laws which can be proven instead of created by the whim of some idiot.

      • americaswatchman

        @Akingu88
How dare you call me a liberal. I am NOT a liberal, not even close.
I am NOT offended by any of your unprovoked, ignorant comments.
But you do not know me well enough to say any of that.
Besides none of them are true except that I am a Christian and damn proud of it.

The main reason this country has gone downhill is because GOD was kicked out
        years ago.
I remember when I was a child GOD still lived in this country.
We had prayer in school, we had the Pledge of Allegiance, the Ten Commandments, etc.

People knew what the rules were and who they were made by and most people followed them, and we did not have the problems in this country we have now.

As for standing in front of a gang of gang bangers, yes, I would pray, for God to have
mercy on them, before I destroy them in self-defense. I would not have to pray for me,
I am strong, and I have confidence in my abilities to defend myself.
Besides, even if they got lucky and murdered me, I would be the lucky one, because
I would end up in heaven, with GOD.

And would not have to put up with non-believers like you.
I know God exists, I have seen and experienced all the proof I need.

It is sad though, what will happen to all of you non-believers on Judgement day.

My Christianity is NOT BS, it is the Word of God, so it is the truth.

And God is not an idiot, God is good, God is Great, he is the one true GOD,
that created the heavens and the earth and everything in it, and around it.

You would not be here if it were not for God…

        Enough said…

        God bless you…

Ban stupid people instead. Don’t let anyone vote if they commit two or more crimes or if they are drunks or drug addicts. Don’t let them draw welfare if they have not worked or contributed anything to the Social Security fund or whatever they call it in England. Make all other understand the form of government you live under and have a simple government test before they can vote. In America most voters don’t know what kind of government we live under or what the Bill of Rights grants them. Not to mention the most important document in human history, our Declaration of Independence.  Americans live in the greatest country in human history and don’t know anything about it. Our Creator brought this country into being for the purpose of keeping the world free, but we n ow have a generation of Moochers that will sell their freedom for a few promises that they will never see.

    • servant

@edrod  I agree but so does our Father….>
2 Thessalonians 3:10  For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
Note: it says would not work, does not mean not able by physical or mental means unable to work

    • hookemowls

@edrod Nobody collecting welfare should be allowed to vote, it’s a conflict of interest.

      • steve holmes

@hookemowls  @edrod At first I agreed. Then when I thought how the Elite want to bankrupt the world so everybody is pretty much on welfare, they’d love it that none of the people were thus able to vote.
        Again, it’s a double-edged sword.

  • americaswatchman

Attention everyone, legally speaking, you do not have to give up your guns. Legally speaking citizens do not have to obey unconstitutional laws.
In addition, courts are not bound to enforce unconstitutional laws either. So read this, and then keep your guns: http://www.constitution.org/uslaw/16amjur2nd.htm . By the way, please spread that around as much as possible. Therefore, others can learn that they can disobey unconstitutional laws…
    God bless America

  • ashman1

americaswatchman; State of Utah, 28 of 29 county sheriffs signed a letter to Bammie stating that they would uphold the constitution and it’s amendments and refuse federal agents who attempt to confiscate guns from legal owners. Furthermore, said federal agents would be charged and placed in confinement.

    • steve holmes

@ashman1 I wish California would do the same but I might as be wishing for pigs to fly. Right here in Sacramento, one city council member, Sandy Sheedy, told how even an unloaded gun can be dangerous (but she forgot how dangerous it can be when somebody, such as her SON last year),  drives under influence of alcohol

According to a recent FBI USDOJ report more perps are resorting to objects such as knives, bats, machete’s, axe’s and such at a larger rate then firearms.
Could it be that firearms are harder to come by ILLEGALLY?
And the politicians are lying to the American Public about firearms and gun control.
