U.S. Biggest Oil Producer in the World?

Our energy prices continue to skyrocket as the Obama Presidency continues to linger like a malignant tumor in our nation’s body. The question we should be asking ourselves is why? Why are our energy prices so high when we are superheroes of energy production?

Answer: the liberal policies of the Obama administration and the Democrat Party.

While we may be the biggest oil producer in the world, we could be doing even better. During most of the Obama Presidency the government has had our oil production in a chokehold, but they’ve also stamped down on our coal production while increasing subsidies to wind, solar and water power. Sadly all of those “environmentally friendly” options have been big negatives thus far – as none can provide the necessary amount of energy that would make all of the money spent worthwhile.

From Bloomberg News…

The U.S. will remain the world’s biggest oil producer this year after overtaking Saudi Arabia andRussia as extraction of energy from shale rock spurs the nation’s economic recovery, Bank of America Corp. said.

U.S. production of crude oil, along with liquids separated from natural gas, surpassed all other countries this year with daily output exceeding 11 million barrels in the first quarter, the bank said in a report today. The country became the world’s largest natural gas producer in 2010. TheInternational Energy Agency said in June that the U.S. was the biggest producer of oil and natural gas liquids.

“The U.S. increase in supply is a very meaningful chunk of oil,” Francisco Blanch, the bank’s head of commodities research, said by phone from New York. “The shale boom is playing a key role in the U.S. recovery. If the U.S. didn’t have this energy supply, prices at the pump would be completely unaffordable.”

Yeah, the U.S. is an oil exporting nation so why are Americans paying almost double what people in other oil producing countries pay? Because they are stupid and the oil companies are greedy.

    • jessica22

Who are you calling “they “?
Other oil exporting nations or U.S. oil companies?
      (I think I know the answer)…

      • abinico

The American public is stupid to be so controlled and brain washed by the MSM and the oil companies. Have you noticed that the MSM never talks about oil company profits anymore. The silence speaks volumes about the conspiracy.

    • azooper

I think you need to check your facts on exports. We only export to Canada due to a ban on oil exports. The ban has been in effect since the 70′s. Der furor wishes to end the ban.

      • abinico

Check my facts – exporting to Canada somehow is not exporting? huh? And this only to Canada export thing is as legit as bitcon. Like as if Canada needs all that oil.

The signs of the end times are everywhere…

As we witness such things as the spread of globalism, the building of a one-world church, the increase of wickedness, the breakdown of the traditional family, the destruction of that priceless bastion of liberty called America, the normalization of homosexuality, the callous murder of babies, the filthy pop culture, the breathtaking increase in governmental surveillance, we become fearful, uncertain, frustrated, angry, and discouraged, but this is because our minds and hearts are too focused on things of this world rather than things above. Too often we have the same short view that “conservative” unbelievers have rather than the long view that comes from the light of Bible prophecy…

The devil is the god of this world, and his handiwork is evident everywhere, but he is not God and he is not in control of the times and the seasons.

“Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding” (Dan. 2:20-21).

We should stand in the confidence that the present evil is exceedingly temporary and will soon be cut down…….

The US will be the biggest producing oil supply in the world and BOB’s destructive handiwork will go down the toilet like all his other disincentive ideas to create government dependent victims. Getting rid of BOB will be like giving a flea ridden dog a soap and water bath, fumigating the government will lend a era of conservative thinking that can heal all the de-construction and malice wrought by BOB and his thuggs, aka A-Holes of America.

Guess who “wants things?” Corporate power “wants things.” That’s where you have your definitive corporate welfare.

America would be the World’s largest oil producer if leftist environmentalists and leftist politicians would allow private enterprise to drill new wells and tap into the huge oil deposits in the Dakotas and Eastern Wyoming. America has three hundred years of reserves in the Bakkan Formation alone as well as other large deposits.

Their is absolutely no reason for America to be dependent on the Middle East for our energy. We have the capacity to supply ourselves with abundant, inexpensive oil to power our industrial infrastructure with clean energy. We also have the World’s largest deposits of clean, natural gas, that would minimize the carbon emissions that the left complain about.

The left’s program to restrain development of our energy reserves have nothing to do with our environment. The program of the left is designed to weaken America and is part of the movement to destroy this Nation.

    • woonsocket

It turns out that all Republican voters aren’t in favor of more pipelines and fracking when it PERSONALLY affects them. Environmentalists want to protect everyone.

      • govtrumbull

I don’t exactly know how to respond to this comment without being rude. Therefore, instead of trying to hurt the gentle feeling of Environmentalists, I will ask you a few questions.

        1. Do you believe that the United States should be energy independent and not rely on Mideast oil?

        2. Do you believe that oil production is vital to the movement of consumable goods?

        3. Do you believe that the more expensive oil becomes those increases have a negative effect on the price of food, utilities, and goods in the marketplace?

        4. Do you believe that dependence on Mideast oil funds terrorism?

        5. Do you believe that Middle Eastern, Islamic countries use their oil reserves to blackmail the United States in supporting radical Islamic initiatives?

        6. Do you want to see America prosper economically and have more jobs created?

These are just a few questions to consider when radical Environmentalists suppress the exploitation of new oil fields within the Continental United States.

We can achieve energy independence without harm to the environment. Advances in clean oil, natural gas and coal, make all of these sources remarkably clean.

I believe that one of the best answers to reduce our dependence on foreign oil is the development of a natural gas infrastructure. Natural gas emissions produce very little CO2 and mostly emit H2O which is not harmful to the air we breath. In defense of CO2 emissions, CO2 is the necessary ingredient in the production of O2. It is plant food.

By using electrostatic precipitators at coal fired plants, harmful emissions can be cut dramatically. Closing coal fired electric generation plants is OK as long as a new generation coal plant is built to take its place.

By attacking and preventing the use of our natural resources we are playing into the hands of our enemy. Of course Obama is playing into the hands of our enemies every day.

If you want a strong, economically robust and free nation, supporting new gas, oil, oil shale, coal, nuclear power, and new refineries are vital to our progress as a nation. I am not referring to progressive politics when I use the word progress because progressivism is actually antithesis to “progress” as most people think of it. But that is a subject for another discussion.

The Bakkan formation has been getting drilled since 2000. And it doesn’t have “three hundred years of reserves”. The U.S. Geological Survey’s 2013 estimate put Bakken at 7.4 billion barrels. Likewise in 2013 Americans used an average of 18.89 million barrels of oil per day, which comes out to just slightly more than 319 days’ worth of Bakken oil.

better yet, lets keep all our oil here at home and dump opec and stop paying off middle eastern countries that hate us to not fight against us ( directly ) while still preaching hate against all non-muslims to their children and supporting terrorist groups and countries that fight us behind our backs.

  • Richard

How come other countries that produce and use their own oil, they pay less than a dollar at the pump but we get screwed and don’t get kissed?

  • woonsocket

Prices high? Check what Europeans pay twice as much for gas. Norwegans, for example, pay $9.97 for a gallon of gas.

    • NDwight

Your argument doesn’t make sense. Check when George Bush #2 was president. Gas was $1.80 a gallon and liberals were claiming gouging by the oil companies then and blaming Bush for that.

The United States may be the biggest producer of petroleum products in the world at 11 million bbls a day but according to the EIA, in 2013, the United States was also the biggest consumer, with an average of 19 million barrels of petroleum products per day.

That means the US imported 8 million bbls of petroleum products a day in 2013 and it is therefore the biggest importer of petroleum products in the world.

If the total global production is say 83 million bbls of petroleum products a day then the US with only 4.4% of the world’s population is consuming a huge 23% of global production of petroleum products a day. Is this sustainable? Will it lead to more wars for OIL?
