In Chicago, Land of Liberal Gun Control, 911 is Made Impotent

Once an idea sinks its claws into the Liberal mind, it is nearly impossible to change that idea. The mind should be an open courtyard, allowing ideas to confront preconceived notions, and sometimes replace them with new, more refined truths. We are all guilty of stubbornness; but those on the Left are the epitome of intransigence.

According to CBS Chicago,

“Starting this week, Chicago police are changing their responses to 911 calls. They’ll no longer come right away to reports of things like criminal damage to property, vehicle thefts, garage burglaries, or other crimes in which the suspect is no longer on the scene, and the victim isn’t in immediate danger.”

Many are outraged by this decision. Police Supt. Garry McCarthy responded to the outrage with this statement:

“I don’t mean to be flippant here, because I’ve been the victim of a burglary at least three or four times…I’d rather have the officer on street, where he can prevent the shooting.”

According to the Washington Post, in 2012:

“Since Jan. 1, Chicago police have recorded 2,364 shooting incidents and 487 homicides, 87 percent of them gun-related. Shootings have increased 12 percent this year and homicides are up 19 percent.”

Garry McCarthy said the problem is gun violence in the streets:

“Seizing guns, he said, offers limited benefit, with Chicago already claiming guns at a rate three times greater than Los Angeles and nine times higher than New York.”

Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet the city counts hundreds of gun related deaths each year. Chicago is a perfect example of gun restriction failing to curb violence. If you remove guns from the citizenry, only criminals will have them; because laws will do absolutely nothing to stop a criminal from getting a gun in any way he needs.

Now, Chicago’s extraordinary violence problem is putting such duress on the police force that they can no longer perform their duties in regard to lesser crimes. According to CBS, the police will no longer respond immediately to crimes where the victim is not in immediate danger. This is all so the police can be on the streets to protect Chicago from all of the gun violence.

The problem is so pervasive because–until December–Illinois banned concealed carrying of guns. Until this past December, Illinois was the only state not to have concealed carry laws. Mounds of evidence definitively show the benefit of concealed carry. When anyone might be armed, criminals are less apt to take the chance on a crime. In addition to that, there is a track record of those with concealed guns stopping crimes and attempted shootings.

So, if extreme gun control does nothing to curb gun related violence, and concealed carry laws are proven to help reduce crime and violence, why would Chicago be so unwilling to jump off the gun control bandwagon. Because the concept of gun control is a vote-getter; it makes the Left seem like bleeding hearts. The idea of, and power behind the concept of gun control has sunk its claws into the minds of the Left, and no amount of evidence will change their belief.

If those on the Left were not so closed minded, Chicago might be a much safer place.

    If “gun control” really reduced crime, Chicago would be THE safest city in the United States of America.

    The fruits of gun control.  Typical of Obama goals/ideals.

    In Chicago, they’ve outlawed guns, now only the outlaws have them!

      Just like we told them in the 70′s 80′s 90′s……
      Can’t fix stupid! This proves it!

  • abigsoxfan

    Gun violence continues here unabated. There are more murders here each and every month than in any mass murder committed, but that fact is never reported because it goes against the narrative.

    • Tony Ruiz

      @abigsoxfan    Pssssst:  Detroit also, and there are a few more

  • Tony Ruiz

    Chicago should be outlawed and abandoned, with all buildings and other ‘improvements’ razed and the land left barren with all its liberals buried in the remaining desolation…with an obama statue on top of the ruins holding baby Rom, with the John Hancock tower moved to Cincinnati. Why Cincinnati you ask…why not?

  • CarlStevenson

    The Chief is an idiot. Cops don’t stop shootings. The are trying to make things bad to “justify” some sort of martial law. Jesse Jackson was shilling the other day for Obama’s DHS Gestapo to patrol the streets.
    DHS and other alphabet agencies have recently purchased over 1.8 BILLION rounds of hollow point ammo – enough to shoot every man, woman, and child in the country 5 times or more – ammo that’s illegal for military use under international law, and have just ordered 7,000 FULLY AUTOMATIC “personal defense” weapons. How does anyone with the capability of rational thought escape the conclusion that our government is preparing for a war on its own citizens?
    Chicago will just be a pilot program for a nationwide program. If they are allowed to continue, it will end up making the Bruce Willis movie “The Siege” look like a good day in Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood.
    Keep your powder dry.

      @CarlStevenson    I could not possibly agree more. It’s us vs them

    • StephenHenry

      @CarlStevenson Contrast Mr. Jackson to Bloomberg’s refusal to let the National Guard help in NYC after Sandy because the only people he wanted on the streets with guns were the NYPD.  New Jersey didn’t have such an objection.  I’m still looking for the stories about all the National Guard shootouts that took place…….

    • Wichitakathryn

      @CarlStevenson …..don’t forget the FEMA internment camps that are standing and ready for us. I read yesterday, that the one in Alaska can hold 2 million!!!

  • toootall

    I’d like to see a reporter with the guts to ask Obummer if he will O.K. a backround check on himself, so his security could carry guns and he could do photoshop with a skeet gun.

  • ChiefGator

    It’s a crying shame we can’t find some way to force Obummer and his family to move back to Chicago so that they could participate  in reaping what he has sown.

    • StephenHenry

      @ChiefGator All the skeet in Chicago should be scared then.   Besides, BO will be fine in Chicago without carrying a gun.  He has people to do that for him.   And, he also has millions of dollars he earned AFTER becoming a politician, unlike the evil Romney that earned his money BEFORE becoming a politician.  Of course, Romney is the corrupt criminal.

  • Redmongo1

    Chicago =Can’t Hold an Intellectual Conversation Against Gun Ownership.

    Yes you can use this acronym

  • StephenHenry

    Given limited resources, it makes sense that the CPD has to prioritize where it places officers.  Governments must make these choices all the time, and governments just don’t have the resources to ensure the safety of every individual all the time.  Those that favor gun control choose to rely on the police, but when money is tight, or more pressing issues exist, the police may not be there. Chicago seems to have just given a free pass for home burglaries, increasing the likelihood a homeowner will confront a criminal, and therefore be in harms way.

    Many are afraid of a tyranical government ruling over an unarmed population.  I think long before the government gets there, it will be bankrupted and the criminal gangs will beat them to the punch, and it will be the criminal gangs that have the people living in fear. Just look at the Mexican cities along the border living in fear of the drug cartels.  I’m not concerned about the need to be armed for a government collapse rather than  government oppression, as I think it’s much more likely.  In fact, we’re seeing it on the local level .

    Chicago is just a steaming pile of the sort of results you end up with under the leadership of democrats.

    • CarlStevenson

      @CaptTurbo You insult steaming piles!

  • MagsEast

    They live by the rule of “the ends justify the means” So what if thousands of innocent men, women, and children die at the hands of criminals and psychos? One day soon, the people will look to the government to do SOMETHING – ANYTHING to stop the blood flowing in the streets and THAT Iis the day when they can finally send out their homeland Gestapo into the streets. One city down and then onto the next until they show up on your front door.

    • StephenHenry

      @MagsEast And enough people will be willing to hand over their wallets to the politicians that promise to do something.  It’s easier to manipulate those living in fear.

    • AZhot

      @MagsEast Marxism, fascism, no difference. Create chaos and widespread civil unrest, then use that as an excuse to implement a dictatorship. Murder as many people as necessary to accomplish this goal.

    • CarlStevenson

      @MagsEast Jesse Jackson was shilling the other day for Obama’s DHS Gestapo to patrol the streets of Chicago, now that their gun control has made it the murder capital of the country. DHS and other alphabet agencies have recently purchased over 1.8 BILLION rounds of hollow point ammo – enough to shoot every man, woman, and child in the country 5 times or more – ammo that’s illegal for military use under international law, and have just ordered an additional 7,000 FULLY AUTOMATIC “personal defense” weapons. He has part of this story comletely wrong…the agenda behind Gun Control is to disarm all American so Obama and his Communist/Muslim Cronies can murder and enslave the American People.  Only Tyranny is on their minds and nothing else…!!!  Chicago is just another example of local Tyranny in action, now picture what is happening in Chicago go Nation wide?  The blood of Americans would and will run Red in the Streets just as it is doing right now in the Windy City!

  • FlagMan

    An officer on the street  won’t help.
    A gun in your hand will

  • Write On

    The statist left is a very stubborn group. How can you not recognize the fact that criminals have the fire power since the city leaders have taken them away from the good citizens? They blatantly blame the gun crimes in the Windy City come from other states such as Indiana. Wake up Chicago! Through the power of your vote — you can throw the bums out. Your state has taken away your rights and freedoms as specified in the Bill of Rights. Pick up a copy of the Constitution and read – “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”.  They did not ban muskets over pistols or even canons over muskets. Deer hunting was not the gun objective; rather keeping a free and limited government void of tyranny was the real and legitimate objective. Let’s go back to a Republic for which it was intended.

      Private individuals were allowed to own warships and hired out as privateers.

    • http://aol.com/ ssilv48

      @Write On The city leaders are the criminals, that’s one of the problems. The second problem is there are no down falls to being a criminal and until that changes, the criminals will continue.

  • LarryNeal

    What a dilemma.  Thousands of citizens and illegal aliens being gunned down every year.  Take away all the automatic weapons from all those crazies (oh, wait…there are no automatic weapons available).  So, take the assault rifles away (oh wait…most of what we see that look like assault rifles are really semi-automatic .22s built to look like AR-15s).  What is really killing all those people are handguns.  Let’s do search and siezures on anyone on the street who looks like they are armed, even if it is unconstitutional.  I hear NYC does it and the murder rate has gone down.  I also know that there are lots of street cameras in NYC, which also lowers the murder rate.
    Most European cities have street cameras all over the place and crime is down, as are murders.
    So, maybe what needs to be done, beside reinstitutionalizing the crazies and stopping the pharmaceutical murders and disarming felons,  is having cities really begin to use the technology available and begin to capture street murders on film, so to speak,  and then have the police use all of their powers to apprehend the criminals, using deadly force, which will deter others from killing others.

    • NavyVet

      @LarryNeal Maybe you should REALLY investigate the results of England’s and Europe’s “gun control and total coverage with cameras.

      • Wichitakathryn

        @NavyVet @LarryNeal …. You can’t compare England or Australia to the USA when talking gun laws….they are islands, much easier to control people and guns entering. We let 800,000 illegals in last year, and who knows how many guns…when we have secure borders, then we’ll see about keeping criminals and their guns out of here.

        • Graywolf12

          @Wichitakathryn  @NavyVet  @LarryNeal
           If it so easy to control guns on islands why is their crime rate per 100,000 so much higher than  here?

        • LarryNeal

          @Wichitakathryn  @NavyVet  @LarryNeal
          Actually, Australia is not seen as an island, but a continent.  I know I am knit-picking, but I had to say somthing.
          We can’t stop narcotics from coming in, so how do you think we can stop guns?

      • sscannell05

        @NavyVet  @LarryNeal I live in England and I can tell you that there is more violent crime here per 100,000 by far; over America. Both the Auzi and British Police wish their Governments never banned guns. Crime is now investigated after the fact and most criminals never get caught. Then when a honest Citizen stands up for themselves and injures a punk; the honest Citizen goes to jail for Human Rights Violation. Gun control laws are a joke and they get honest people killed.

        • LarryNeal

          @sscannell05  @NavyVet See my reply to NavyVet and take a look at the statistics.  Yes, there are more crimes of violence against people, but fewer crimes of a sexual nature, fewer cases of child abuse, and many fewer murders. Think what would happen to the numbers of murders in the UK if you had a proportional number of guns per inhabitant.  The US has more guns than people, with results that should not be surprising in a nation that has lost its moral compass (to those of you who don’t know-that is what the founding fathers used to draw up the Constitution) and that was the bedrock of most Americans until the 1960s.
          Don’t get me wrong…I am not against guns; I served in my state militia and I truly believe in the Second Amendment which provides for citizens to keep and bear arms.
          But, I am strongly against the ease with which people can be armed.  In Philadelphia, as in other cities, you can buy your gun from some guy down on the corner.  These are the sorts of guns that kill the vast majority of people in America.  There has to be a way to keep these weapons out of the hands of the gang bangers and street criminals.  Stop and frisk may be against the tenets of the Fourth Amendment, but stop and frisk has reduced the numbers of murders in New York City.
          So, what’s your choice?  Keep the guns out and have lots of non-lethal violence, or let the guns in and see much more violence of a deadly nature?

      • LarryNeal

        @NavyVet HI,
        I also am a Navy Vet, a USMC Vet, and an Army Vet.  I took you at your word and REALLY INTESTIGATED the crime statistics of the U.S. versus the UK.  Here goes:
        Violent Crimes:        UK   1600/100,000         US   386
        Sexual Offences                 100/100,000                  260
        Vehicle Theft                        300/100,000                 229
        Child Abuse                           90/100,000                 241
        Murder                                   140/100,000                480
        Prison Population               149/100,000                762

        So, what can we draw from this?
        The UK looks to be more violent, but less deadly.
        Child abuse is much less in the UK.
        Murder is much less in the UK.
        The prison population is much less in the UK.

        Those are statistics drawn from the internet.  We can extrapolate and make some conclusions:
        Fewer children are victims of crime in the UK which might have something to do with why there are fewer murders
        Sexual crimes are fewer in the UK which might have something to do with why there are fewer murders.
        The UK has a prison population, based on 100,000 inmates over 80% less than the US. Statistics indicate  that prison terms begat more violent crimes.
        There are about 2/3rds fewer murders committed in the UK, which might be the result
        of fewer inmates, less sexual crime and child abuse.
        I don’t know about thees conclusions, but I do know that it is safer to walk in London and Cardiff than in Detroit or Chicago if you value your life.
        What do guns and cameras have to do with it?  I am not sure, but I never fear for my life while in London or Wales.

    • jem

      @LarryNeal Why don’t you go reread the 2nd Amendment until it sinks in.  And riddle me this:  If you are a convicted felon who served his time and has integrated back into society, did you lose your right to free speech (1st amendment)?  Did you lose your right to 4th and 5th amendment protection?  No?  What makes you think there is any CONSTITUTIONAL basis for denying said person his right to protect himself?  Don’t give me the public safety nonsense argument.  Practically every American has, at some point in his or her life, committed a felony.  (felon, felony).  Fascists like you are how we got to THIS POINT in history.  YOU opened the door to infringement.  Now there is no stopping them.  Sure, it seemed “reasonable” (albeit UNCONSTITUTIONAL).  Until a closer examination of the facts reveals the millions of Americans who are or have been in prison and/or convicted of a felony for whatever reason, like maybe getting caught with marijuana in the car on a routine traffic stop.

      • LarryNeal

        @jem Did I mention the Constitution?  I happen to have a copy of it on my desk, compliments of the CATO Institute and, to humor you, I just reread Amendment Two:  “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”  Did I say anything about that? Perhaps you should get a copy and read it yourself.  Are you a convicted felon who lost his right to possess a firearm?  That’s not my fault.  Go complain to your state representative or senator
        .Did I mention that I served in the Army, Navy and Marine Corps?  Did I mention that I served my country for over 20 years?  Did I mention my ideology?  Did I mention my three college degrees and my Basic, Advanced and Command and General Staff College certificates?  Did I mention that I am a service connected disabled veteran?
        How did I get to be a Fascist?  Do you know what definition is?  To provide you with a little knowledge that you might not have: Facism is a system of government characterized by rigid one-party dictatorship, forcible suppression of opposition, private economic enterprise under centralized governmental control, BELLIGERENT NATIONALISM, racism, and militarism.  In WWII they were the Facists of Italy, the Nazis of Germany and the BELLIGERENT NATIONALISTS of Japan.
        We have a great amount of people running around this country who are nationalists(which is not the same thing as patriotism) but are not to the point of being fascist about it.
        Our great nation is headed toward facism, or at least that is my belief based upon the movements of the currently serving President and the last several sessions of congress.  I guess if I am a facist, I need to resign my positions from the TEA Party, the DAV, and the Republican Party.
        And, just how did we get from street cameras to felons?  Having served as a probation officer, I know many felons.  In my state, they will never be allowed to possess guns.  Right or wrong, that is the law.  They violated the law by their felonous behavior and they will pay the price.  I have a family member who is a convicted felon for selling narcotics. He will never have some rights returned to him, such as certain places of employment or the right to keep arms. As a felon, he would never be allowed in the organized militia or any of the armed forces. It is a shame, but he broke the law.  If you are in the same situation, you have my sympathies.
        When I first joined the military as an enlisted man, and when I took my oath of office, I swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.  I have NEVER moved an inch from that oath.
        I am truly sorry that you called me a facist.  I hope you don’t mind if I call you a felon, if indeed you are one.

    • DWinch

      “capture street murders on film”? Sounds like the makings of the next Reality TV series!
      Criminals love to be on film.

      • LarryNeal

        @DWinch Don’t you watch “Person of Interest”?  It happens all the time on that TV show.  Why do you think so many venues have video cameras?  To watch themselves?
        And why are Comcast, Verizon, ADP, and so on, selling home video cameras at such a rapid pace if not to catch the perps in the act?

  • Wichitakathryn

    We law abiding gun owners need to tell ALL businesses that are gun free zones, that they will not have our business until they change it from being a death trap!!!. I wouldn’t live in Chicago, or Illinois for that matter for anything!!!,

    • AZhot

      @Wichitakathryn it’s becoming harder and harder to find a decent place to live in The USA. We have allowed the Scumocrats to take over and ruin the greatest country the world has ever known. Beyond sad!

        @AZhot You r so right! Kansas actually got more conservative this last election. I love to here the liberal crybabies complain about it too!!!!

    How is that great gun control working for you Chicago the land of the great Obombnic the leftist-socialist Demorat.

  • ssh49tn

    When I was growing up in Illinois, the Mafia ran Chicago, & there wasn’t 1/3 of the killings there are now days. And, there weren’t very many people that had guns, except the Mafia. I don’t agree with the Mafia, by any means, but anybody with any sense, can see that the gun control laws are NOT working!

    And now there is an 8 time convicted felon running In Michigan…..is this a great country or what??!??!   Can you say “upside down”?!?!?!?

    We never did this in the city of NY.

    All one needs to do a little web searching to find:
    A: all the most financially troubled states and cities are run by Democrats and strongly Unionized
    B. they are also the most crime riddled cities and states.
    C. Amazingly they ALL have the toughest, anti-gun laws in the nation!
    Yet they want to add more laws to the 10,000 they ARE NOT NOW ENFORCING?
    Guess upon whom these laws always falls?
    THE LAW ABIDING CITIZENS, BECAUSE CRIMINALS OBSERVE NO LAWS!
    What’s the answer?
    Never vote for an other Democrat again, anywhere, unless you want to live in a dictatorial state!

    • Graywolf12

      @servant
       They are also heavily unionized. More crime = more cops, more cops  = more union dues. People be dammed.

  • DWinch

    10 out of 10 criminals prefer stricter gun laws for the same reason 10 out of 10 terrorist favor obama for president.
    It’s not for our benefit.

  • Mynickelsworth

    Chicago does not rate a comment.

  • BIGSAMRED

    I THOUGHT THE NEW MAYOR IN CHICAGO HAD ALL THE ANSWERS.  THEY NEED SPECIAL FORCES TO GO IN AND TAKE CONTROL OF THE GANGS. THEY ARE RUNNING THE CITY NOT THE MAYOR.

    • MichaelBurch

      @BIGSAMRED that mayor,like his buddy…the president is just as bad and corrupt as old al copone

    • aj_ny

      @BIGSAMRED
       All that city needs to do is armed law abiding citizens.
      That is the only city in the United States of America that REFUSES to permit retired law enforcement officers the authority to carry firearms.
      No wonder there is a serious crime issue.
      Everyone is a sitting duck….or in this case a DEAD DUCK.

    • AZhot

      @BIGSAMRED Good old Rham is probably the gang leader.

  • MichaelBurch

    Everyone is so focused on what they ‘think’ is the problem…guns…The real problem is the break down of the family unit,and the attack on our religious freedoms…their is no longer any moral fabric to fall back on.There are way too many single mommas who have no control over their little thugs…both black and white…we as a country need to get back to a moral country,one that has both a mom and dad at home…We need a much smaller government,more state control…and more attendance at church…We need schools that can administer punishment to unruly children,parents to start being more proactive in their kids education…and maybe even …gasp…prayer in school…only then will this insane violence start coming to an end…Oh,yeah…least I forget…a change of almost all of our politicians in all of our government…and any that do not uphold the constitution need be impeached and sent to jail..forfeiting all pay,benefits…..just saying

  • J Joy

    What are the liberals going to do when they have gotten their way and confiscated all of the guns from the law abiding citizens so that now no one can protect themselves- – -and people are still being killed?  Who are they going to blame then??  Themselves – I don’t think so!!  Will it take that to get them to even consider that the problem isn’t the guns – it’s the people (criminal or mental) holding the guns?  I can’t believe these liberals are so focused (stupidly) on the item of destruction not the wielder of the item!!!

    • tg7357

      Of course they’ll blame defenseless people: those who are shot shouldn’t have stood in front of the gun!! Thats how liberals think!

  • tg7357

    Ahh, Chicago!! After decades and decades of corruption, this is where you are!! The police in the city where I live already don’t respond to car theft, burglaries,etc. They PRIORITIZE. Plus, they figure the homeowner is going to shoot the intruders anyway.  We have a ‘stand your ground’ law.

    • Truckman

      @tg7357 Chicago’s version of the “Stand Your Ground” law is the “Crawl And Beg For Mercy” law.

      • tg7357

        I know, and I feel sorry for the good people of Chicago.  But THEY are going to have to fix this problem themselves. I still suggest theire first move should be dump Emmanuel.

        • NHConstitutionalist

          @tg7357 The good people should leave that h3ll hole if they can the rest of them voted for the crooks let them deal with it. Pity is wasted on fools.

      • RedMeatState

        @Truckman  @tg7357 MORE LIKE the “lay down and die” law.

  • zrod

    carry a gun, cops are too heavy!!

  • tg7357

    We need to look at Chicago as an example of too many years of corrupt Democratic political machinery.  From Capone thru Daley to Emmanuel, the honest, law-abiding people of the city never stood a chance. My suggestion to the good folk of Chicago: start an immediate recall campaign of Rahm Emmanuel.  Kick him to the curb and find yourselves a mayor who’s a decent, CLEAN politician (and preferably not a resident of Chicago) to start cleaning your city up!!

  • Go4man

    Do not be foolish to think concealed carry will deter crime.  Criminal tactics will change to shoot first and ask questions later.

    • zrod

      @Go4man But a weapon at least gives me a chance! No weapon = dead.

      • Go4man

        @zrod Get the training necessary to defend yourself, too.  You probably already have but others may have not.

    • tg7357

      Uhh, most of them already do that.

      • Go4man

        @tg7357 Kudos! You are right!  It is becoming a war zone out there.  It is going to get worse before it gets better!

    • AZDon

      @Go4man

      You may be right however, concealed carry has reduced crime here in Arizona.  The facts speak for themselves!

      @KRicklick And alcohol control and drug control, and on and on.  They really are not too bright and never learn from nor admit their mistakes.  Incapable of being part of the human race.

  • AZhot

    Hate to say it gang, but get off the Chicago gun control bit. All you’re doing is making a case for national gun control. The obvious stock answer that the Marxists give is “all these Gus are coming from states with lax gun laws”. We know Chicago is a corrupt ship hole, but you’re making it all too easy for them to blame their murder crib on outside sources. Half of our electorate is stupid enough to fall for this BS. The second amendment was put in our constitution to make a tyrannical government such as the one these Marxist ask holes on trying to impose on us now think twice about blatant power grabs. Get off the gun deaths in the big cities. It does our cause no good.

    • AZDon

      @AZhot

      If course they are you don’t expect them to tell the truth do you?  What they fail to relate is there are more then a quarter billion, yes that’s with a (B), in the hands of both law abiding citizens and criminals and anyone who thinks they can be confiscated is an idiot.  Its impossible!   Anyone with any common sense knows that!  Liberal progressive do not have common sense.  Obviously!

  • ErikOsbun

    A most dramatic failure of gun control is Chicago.

    • tg7357

      Followed closely by Detroit and Washington, DC.

    • livefyre8158

      @ErikOsbun Are you taking into consideration comrade Holder´s “Fast and Furious” caravan of guns to one major drug-lord group in Mexico ?  Word is that the Obama-Holder assist would enable them to kill off all competitive drug-lord groups.  The US druggie administration would have to deal with only one drug-lord in Mexido instead of four.

      • ErikOsbun

        @livefyre8158 No, because several hundred people in Mexico have already been shot down with those F&F guns, and do not believe that all of these are gangland deaths.

    • AZDon

      @ErikOsbun

      Chicago is an excellent example of how gun control works. It doesn’t!  I know all the liberal progressives have some other excuse but it just doesn’t work.

      • ErikOsbun

        @AZDon Agreed!

      • Roeech

        @AZDon  @ErikOsbun It works in their dreams and I can understand that because they have no connection to reality or the real world.  And, you can bet the hae weapons and/or bodyguards.  Their dreams are of a utopia which was proven eons ago that a utopis will never come into existence because it ain’t part of the human condition.  but, again, what has logic to do with a liberal’s thinking.  NADA!

        • ErikOsbun

          @Roeech  @AZDon A Communist’s dream is an impossible utopia, and, when informed about the unworkability of that, they redouble their efforts to get that end by any means. They come to this monumental stupidity via their brainwashing by the charismatic cell boss whose only goal is power.

  • KRicklick

    Take the time to review Kennesaw. Georgia’s Gum laws

  • KRicklick

    and their GUN laws

  • tg7357

    Jessie Jackson is busy trying to get the Feds (a.k.a.Obama) to send Homeland Security to patrol the street of Chicago. Going to be interesting to see if Obama breaks some more laws and does it.

  • DouglasMorris

    These citizen should just pipe down and let The CHosen ones do as they most to nudge chicago toward the Fascist Utopia the rest of America should HOPE to Change into…

    • RedMeatState

      @DouglasMorris what they really ought to do, especially business owners, IS MOVE!!!

  • livefyre8158

    It appears that rabbi Emanuel hasn´t lowered the violent crimes and murders in the Windy City, and perhaps there has been an increase.  Now that he has brought in Gugenheim Partners to scarf off all possible dollars from the Chicago cash register, he can beg for a financial bailout for Chicago.  Did he bring some of the NYC CIA with him to decrement the patriots on the Chicago Police force ?  Or does he deal only with the israeli MOSSAD ?

  • Brabado

    Guess,  the answer to so much of the  lawlessness in Chicago, and lack of Gun Control,  rest on the expert hands of its Mayor.

    He has a lot of experience in twisting arms..from his W.H. enforcing days,  doesn’t he or, perhaps he has become weak,  lost his touch or,  the Chicago Crowd is much tougher than he ever thought, reason why he is  pleading for Jessy Jackson’s help,   and Barack Obama’s  National Guard!

    May GOD protect all citizens, and their Children in the Windy City, from all these hoodlums…  much worst and dangerous than any Gun, walking around the City.

    EVIL IS POWERLESS IF THE GOOD ARE UNAFRAID – Ronald Regan.

  • fortuneteller43

    I seriously doubt anyone will help Chicago. The city has embarrassed the progressive elite; like global warming the facts are staring them in the face and they would rather purge themselves than to admit they are wrong. The Democrats and liberals have worked too hard and waited too long in the shadows (they believe) to cast it all aside now. No, not now.  They would rather sink and take everyone with them.

  • BrianPaszczykowski

    Gun control kills and liberals beg for more. At this point with so much evidence available from 49 other states, Chicago politicians should be charged as accomplices in crime. They know they have and sentence their citizens to more every year just because of the chip on their shoulder and unwillingness to admit they’re wrong.

  • Obummer

    Home of Obummer and run by Rahm, Obummer’s good buddy, need I say more ?  The cesspool they both crawled out of and we the people should shove them right back into.

  • fbkschester

    Chicago politicians are corrupt and criminal themselves, they know what they are doing by disarming their citizens-the vultures are looking for the opportunity to pounce !!!!  The Mayor is a criminal and has been trained well by his mentor Obama !

  • dntmkmecomoverther

    Hey, Chicago thieves; here’s your green light to steal everything in sight without those pesky police ever showing up! YEEEEHAAAAWW!

    Stupid is as stupid does.  Anyone who lives in Chicago should move….soon.

  • http://aol.com jean1000

    Aren’t many of the shootings gang related?   Why aren’t the politicians going after the gangs?  The police could use help.  Since most gang members are the result of the generational welfare group which vote for liberals,  are the politicians afraid they’ll upset their constituents?  Maybe lose some bribes?

  • EJLeone

    But isn’t chicago (lcit), the home of the beloved leader, a GUN FREE ZONE???  I must be dense because I don’t understand their crime problem!  How can chicago POSSIBLY have that serious a crime problem?  Don’t the criminals obey the gun laws there?  I know!  MORE GUN LAWS!!  THAT WILL BRING THEM INTO LINE!  Oops!  That time of day again for me to get on my prayer rug and bow towards WDC.  Can’t miss that!  By the way: I wonder how many clays the beloved leader actually hits with his shotgun at Camp David?  Surely he’s an avid shotgunner, judging by all the photos of him shooting.

  • windsailor

    If you listen to the Mayor and his ilk, it’s not that there are too many anti-gun laws in Chicago, it’s because the guns come into Chicago from the places outside the city that don’t have such stringent laws.

    To which I say………how come these places outside the city of Chicago don’t have even worse crime statistics than Chicago because they have more firearms? After all, they are the sources according to the head of the Chicago Gestapo.

    • Roeech

      @windsailor Well,no one said they were logical, now did they?  Chicago has always been corrupt, yet the people don’t leave.  What is the attraction?  Being shot dead on the street or in our home?  Stupid is as stupid does and there ain’t  no cure for stupid as yet.

      • JWMajorsMajors

        @Roeech  @windsailor Have you ever seen East Saint Louis? Ha,Ha.It is sub-human on steroids.Illinois is a sick joke.

  • RedMeatState

    sooner or later the police will have to make friends with the armed populace and see this as contributors to the peace, not as threats to the police.
    This gun hysteria has to end!

  • LarryGallo

    Aha!  POLICE ON THE STREET prevent shootings, not more GUN LAWS!

  • stormtrooper1991

    I don’t dial 911. I AM 911 !

  • http://aol.com/ ssilv48

    Larry, you have missed the point. The ease at which they are buying guns in chiago is against the law, what else would you expect from a demo rat mayor that wants to help in confiscating all guns in America. That mayor was criminally put in for a reason, that’s why they let him run when there is no way he should have been able to run at that time for mayor, his address was in dc.

  • gabryel

    Let’s remember mayor Daley stepped down to allow Rham E. to get in, and then Daley’s brother just happen’s to go to Wahington. Yeah let’s all feel good about these elections and appointments……hey does anybody have time for a game of musical chairs?

  • gabryel

    I have lived in Chicago land area all my life and proud to say the muder capital of the country!
    I also remember in the 60′s whem Mayor Daley the senoir was in he didn’t take crape
    he is know for the riots in the 60′s when he told the men in blue
    “shoot to mame and kill”

    • HowardPettyjohn

      do they have spell check in chicago ?

      • gabryel

        @HowardPettyjohn
         sorry my spelling offends you, just fast typing with carprnters fingers

  • gabryel

    That’s how you keep in in line

  • GaryMallast

    Sounds like Chicago is where Detroit arrived 30 or 40 years ago when “the murder city” set a record of 850 homicides in one year.   With runaway crime, ultra high taxes, and an in-your-face all the time city government Detroit has lost hundreds of thousands in population and is little more than a burnt out hole.  Look at Detroit for the Chicago of the future.  Yuck!

    • Whackajig

      @GaryMallast
       I wonder if large black populations have anything to do with it?

      • AZDon

        @Whackajig  @GaryMallast

        Really you wonder about that?

        • Whackajig

          @AZDon  @Whackajig  @GaryMallast
           I also wonder about people who ask really stupid questions.  Of course I already knew the answer, I just wanted to see if anyone would amke a stupid response and you did.

        • AZDon

          @Whackajig  @GaryMallast

          So tell me does being an idiot come natural to you or did you have to practice?

        • Whackajig

          @AZDon  @Whackajig  @GaryMallast
           This fool talks to himself

        • AZDon

          @Whackajig
          In this case I was speaking to you wacky!

  • MrLucky

    This stuff is already worked out and you won’t do nothing about it!

  • HowardPettyjohn

    In Chicago, does impotent mean the same as important ?

  • Roeech

    You get what you ask for and what you pay for.  Gun ban = more murders and crime.  More pay to cops and less cops to protect you when you need them.  Hmm. Seems to be working well for Chicago, doesn’t it?  NOT!  I liked what the people of one NY town said, why do police need assault weapons?  Who are they at war with? and conversely, we will not give up our guns because it is OUR Constitution right.  Hope more cities and towns get on this bandwagon!

    • RightWay1

      @Roeech  Exactly, if the police need those weapons because of criminal encounters, then WE need the same weapons to encounter the same criminal element. The Cops are NEVER there when the bad guys break in. If the cops WERE There, they wouldn’t break in now would they!

      • RedMeatState

        @RightWay1  @Roeech the reason for all this controversy is that Elected and Appointed Officials, Politicians, etc., see themselves as ABOVE the people they serve, and they see the people they serve as no different from the criminals.  Citizens = criminal = guns.

  • Highsider

    I like to keep the leftists happy.  If the “progressive” city government don’t want 911 to react to these kinds of crimes, I’ll be happy to cooperate by turning any that occur on my property into a shooting incident.   Anything to help.

    • Highsider

      Shoot first, and say you wrestled the gun you shot him with, from him.  Then buy another gun on the street the next day to replace it.  They’re easy and cheap in Chicago.

      • gabryel

        @Highsider
         They cops used to call that a throw gun.

        • Highsider

          @gabryel
           They still do and it still works for the baddies, why not for us too?

  • MYS77

    Another lame brain response by liberals who can’t figure it out and the American citizen must once again endure the idiotic problem solving decision making of illogical liberal nuts!

  • Jasa

    Read the Book of Nahum in the Bible.  God will not tolerate perennial rebellion. Who will join together in prayer for Chicago?  Pray that the spiritual powers of darkness that have ruled that city for generations will be cast out.
    That God would raise up righteous statesmen, civic leaders, church leaders and men, fathers and husbands who will stand for truth. Pray that the people of Chicago will recognize why they are in slavery to crime, confess their sins, repent and turn to God for guidance.

  • Jasa

    4.  Pray that they will turn to God, through faith in what Jesus Christ did for them on the cross.  See Ephesians 1:7

  • al pambuena

    chicago is a city of dependency, and liberal education, two things that do nothing for people to improve themselves, and become independent thinking americans, that contribute to society. chicago has been run by thugs, and controlled by a mobster connection, that has become generational, and is so entrenched, that nothing can stop it. where in this country can you find like minded people, like louis farahkan, bill ayers, and barrack hussein obama…that all live in the same neighborhoods, and cross the same pathways. look at chicago’s entrenched liberal educators, its liberal university, and the entrenched muslim influence. chicago is a pest hole, with one of the highest tax rates in the country, that bleeds its people into permanent poverty…and the lines of businesses to vacate that state is becoming larger.

  • Starliner

    Gee, why not move the nation’s capital to Chicago? Then our elected leaders will be working in a zone of strict gun laws and will experience their effect (or in this case, lack thereof) firsthand. I feel sorry for the GOOD people in Chicago!

    • Whackajig

      @Starliner
       Sorry, but there are no good people in chicago, they left a long time ago.

      • gabryel

        @Whackajig  @Starliner
        Aw come on now :) There are good people everywhere it is just the media that  only wants to hype up the bad ones.  I would agree that it seems the bad  is out numbering the good.

        • Whackajig

          @gabryel  @Starliner
           If people lack the common sense to leave a chithole like chicago, how can they be “good”?

    • m1tank

      @Starliner I really LIKE that idea!  Then Obama will be on his own turf and get a taste of his own medicine.

  • AlRoberts3

    Simple solution.
    1.  Turn back to God, individually and as a state.
           But that is not going to happen.
    2.  Arm every citizen over 21 and MAKE them be trained.   (Exclude felons and avowed gang members.)  Crime will drop within ONE WEEK.

    • Lee Baldwin

      @AlRoberts3
       YUP. maybe less than a week. the first gang member shot will cause a great stir. All gang members will realize citizens are armed. They will quit being so brazen. They will completely stop the ‘where you from?” “why don’t you mind your own business” -when you are stopping one from painting on your house.~ there will be no more looting after basketball games, etc.  Think Switzerland. There it is mandatory that every adult is armed and trained. ZERO GUN CRIME.
      Chicago is a cesspool because of liberal democrats pandering to the unions since forever. Our Pander-in-Chief comes from there. Not surprizing he acts like he does. To bad “We the People” ALL know all about Chicago. ~God Bless America!

  • Whizz

    I have often thought, if the government takes away our guns and tells us that they will protect us. Do they mean like they protected the Ambassador and the other three people? just a thought.

    • DEfromDC

      @Whizz You got it!

    • aj_ny

      @Whizz
       FYI:  THE POLICE HAVE NO DUTY TO PROTECT ANYONE INDIVIDUAL…..every US Supeme Ct. decision since the 1880′s say so.
      Police are NOT HELD accountable for anyone becoming victim of any type of crime.

  • Richard Gibbard

    “Thank you for calling Chicago 911.  Your call is very important to us, and we will answer it in the order  in which it was received.”

    • Turgidson

      @Richard Gibbard Please listen to everything before making your selection, as our menu options have changed.  If your house is on fire, press 1.

    • Redmongo1

      @Richard Gibbard Your wait time will be approximately 2 hours and 37 minutes.

    • mclark4430

      @Richard Gibbard ………..Your comment made me think of something that has nothing to do with 911 calls. When some doctors offices call you the recording says if you want to hear this message in English please press 1. That angers me to no end. Like I said this has nothing to do with the subject at hand, just a pet peeve of mine.

  • Turgidson

    Grew up in Chicagoland.  As someone who quite willingly left, I can say, “Will the last person to leave Chicago please turn out the lights.”

  • JamesAgans

    Guns are not the problem. Guns are the symptom. Drugs are the problem. This country has lost its resolve on every front. In our efforts to be “Politically correct” we have lost the respect of every country on the planet. We have lost the personal freedoms gained by the blood of our fighting men and women to a few Islamic Maniacs, and we care more about what others think of us than we care about what we think of ourselves. Chicago is just a mirror of the rest of the country.

    If we don’t get the lawyers out of the Capitol Building, and get some common sense back in there, we are doomed.

    • CarlStevenson

      @JamesAgans Drugs are not actually the problem either, but another symptom. The “war on drugs”, like the “war on poverty”, the “war on terror”, and every other “war on _____” program was designed, not to accomplish its stated purpose of solving a problem, but in promoting and exacerbating it to make people dependent and provide a excuse to expand government and the police state. Trillions of dollars and millions of lives have been pissed down rat holes just on those “problems.” Problems that government engineered, maintained, and grew for its own benefit.
      As Reagan said, “government isn’t the solution it IS the problem.”

      • CarlStevenson

        I meant to also say that any time the government declares “war” on something, hold on, because their programs ALWAYS turn what may be a relatively minor problem int a full-blown disaster.
        That, of course, as I said above, their actual intent.

    • Redmongo1

      @JamesAgans Drugs are the symptom, people are the problem, guns are the cure.

      • JamesAgans

        @Redmongo1 LOL

      • toolate54

        @Redmongo1  @JamesAgans
         Guns in the correct hands are the cure.

  • windsailor

    When was the last time a prayer was answered by someone who is being shot at? Has a bullet ever been stopped in midflight by a prayer, hell no, only return gunfire helps.

    • toolate54

      @windsailor
      Don’t forget. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.  That’s why the intelligent people carry. Sheeple don’t. Lemmings don’t.
      What’s the other side?
      Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

  • windsailor

    The entire nation is controlled by 550+/- people who are placed there in Washington by the electorate…….this proves the collectively the electorate has less than average intelligence. They are willing to give up liberty and freedom of choice for a little “security” from the “big dogs”, and then find  out that what they really gave up was everything our forefathers based this nation on.

    • toolate54

      @windsailor
      Thats why they are called Sheeple.  BAAHHHH!
      The rest of us know better and are going to fight until the last bullet.

  • servant

    GO4man:  Ok, but then PLEASE inform us, for the reasons why all Concealed Carry states, have far less crimes, in any measurement used?
    Gun laws, we have over 10,000 of em, so another few will make a difference?
    What is needed is a change of human hearts, but Liberal Progressives will faint at the thought of obeying God!
    http://www.longlifechoices.blogspot.com

    • aj_ny

      @servant
       There are 20,000 federal, state and local laws pertaining to firearms.

  • sagebrush6

    “The police will no longer respond immediately to crimes where the victim is not in immediate danger”.

    So, if the “potential victim” shoots the criminal, you no longer have to call the police because you are no longer in danger. You now do not have to call the police for shooting a crinimal.   I see the up side of this already.   Winner, winner !

    They did you a favor without realizing it.  Hey, thanks guys.  Should take a load off 911.  Leave’m where they lay.  Let the garbage disposal trucks pick them up.

    • CarlStevenson

      @sagebrush6 the time is coming when people should simply follow the “S3 Rule”. (Shoot, Shovel, Shut Up)

      • aj_ny

        @CarlStevenson  @sagebrush6
         The first fule…..DEAD MEN TELL NO LIES…..make the first shot count.

    • toolate54

      @sagebrush6
       I like your thinking. Now let me get this straight. The police only respond if you are in immediate danger. A thief breaks into your home and threatens to harm you. You pull a weapon and shoot him. Since you are no longer in immediate danger, you don’t bother to call the cops.  Or maybe later when they have time to respond. Maybe te deomocraps have something to offer after all.
      Does anyone esle read it that way also? Wow. A totally new concept.

  • fortuneteller43

    Cops need assault weapons like the AR-15 for the same reasons civilians do.

    • CarlStevenson

      @fortuneteller43 The AR-15 is NOT an assault weapon.  Stop allowing the leftists to define the debate by defining the language.  An assault rifle is defined by the military as a select fire (full auto, burst, and semi auto selectable).  “Assault weapon” is a made up term created by one of the gun grabbers years ago in an effort to confuse the public in to equating AR-15s with “machine guns.”
      It has been illegal to manufacture or import assault rifles for sale to other than law enforcement and military for years.  The modest number of full auto weapons that were in private hands pre-ban can only be transferred with BATF permission, lengthly background check, local law enforcement approval, and tax stamp.  As a result, they are scarce and VERY expensive … IF you could find someone who has a legal one that would be willing to part with it.

      I maintain that the GCA’34, 69, and 86 are all unconstitutional.  Now they want to go even further.

      Everyone needs to draw a line in the sand NOW, and tell them NOT ONE MORE INCH.

    • TeaParty Patriot

      @fortuneteller43
      .
      And civilians need personal protection rifles for the same reason that homeland services ordered 7000 of them..  Funny when homland security orders them they are personal protection rifles but when civilian have them the same agency calls them assault rifles . . . quite a change in vocabulary.
      .

  • fortuneteller43

    ssilv@—you are correct. Who could have told the president “Look, I’m going to Chicago to run for mayor.”  “Yeah, okay Rohm.” Then land in Chicago and say you’re a candidate when you don’t have the residency requirements, go before a judge who qualifies you bypassing the residency rules, run for election and get elected even though the voters don’t remember you since you’ve been living in D.C. Golly Miss Polly! I wish I could do that.

  • bondmen

    By disarming honest and law abiding Chicago has made the city a safe zone for practicing criminals, thugs and gang bangers. Way to go Rhamites and Daleyites, a big win for progressive collectivists. Now the citizens will call out for government to protect them, no matter the costs.  This is a leftist utopia in the making.

    • toolate54

      @bondmen
       It is called socialism and maybe a little communism.  Wanting the governemnt to plan your every day for you. We could add some slavery in there but some people get upset over this. Let me see now.
      Websters Dictionary
      SLAVERY
      1: drudgery, toil
      2: submission to a dominating influence
      3a: the state of a person who is a chattel of another
        b: the practice of slaveholding

      The government gives you money to buy the things you need to live, tells you where and when to live, keeps you in a segregated slum (I mean Project), gives you medical treatments if and when they want.
      Yep, slavery.

      The government want to control Illinois and as much of the rest of the states as possible.  Until they take away those pesky guns, it wil be a hard thing to do. Looking at our current government we are either People or Sheeple. What do you think the people of Illinois are?  They do not think for themselves anymore so even they do not understand.  If they did they would be pissed off that they allowed themselves to be fooled by their govenrment.

  • KennethBowman

    Those infringing upon We the People’s RIGHT of self defence are just as guilty of the crime as the perpetrator and must be so charged.  Seems the LIEberals knowingly enable crimes and therefore must be held fully accountable before the law.

    One would think some enterprising attorney could have a field day with this concept.  Most high ranking Communist politicians have deep pockets just ready for the harvest!

    • CarlStevenson

      @KennethBowman Ken … are you related to Henry?  Have you read John Ross’ book?

    • CarlStevenson

      @KennethBowman The politicians have immunized themselves.  When we return to the Constitution and eliminate all of their illegal laws, we have to never again allow them to do that.  they must be accountable/

  • FlyerVic

    Chicago is a crime cesspool leading the way for other cities run or controlled by liberal democrats. The voters in those cities deserve whatever they get as long as they continue to vote stupidly.

  • RicCarmaz

    That is the home town of the crap head in the WH. Typical demoncratic stronghold in Illinois. Illinois is controlled by unions, who in turn control the demoncrats, who in turn steal your money and give it to the union thugs. Illinois is full of puppet slaves and their union masters. Murder capital and high taxes, Illinois you get what you asked for. How is your governor Quinn doing, still raising taxes and stealing your money. Legalized crook. Where is Blago? Have fun Illionois.

    • ChiefGator

      @RicCarmaz Couldn’t have said it better if I had spent days trying.  Maybe we will get luck and Illinois will ask to secede from the United States.  I think they would get a lot of “yes” votes from the rest of the country.

  • TeaParty Patriot

    .
    Gun control (an impossible phenomenon)will not solve the problem. A change in culture and morals will go a long way towards ending violence against the defenseless. A recent survey by the Barna Group shows that, If you overlaid a map of the Democratic Party strongholds over a map of high crime and violence over a map of people who no longer read and believe the Bible, you would find that they are nearly identical. Violence is not generally a conservative problem. nor is it a general US population problem. The vast majorities of Americans obey the laws. Violence is a regressive ‘rat cultural problem. Ask yourself, Who conducts the knockout game? Who has flash mobbing of stores? which is more prevailent, white on black violence or black on black violence or black on white/asian/hispanic violence? Look at where the murders and violence are, mainly concentrated large regressive democrat conclaves. It is long past time for the regressive ‘rats and thier low information voters to show some community responsibility, clean up their act and start behaving like adult humans instead of the degenerates they are.

    My sister in California sent me these words of wit
    We should let men marry men without protest.
    We should let women marry women without protest.
    We should permit those who wish abortions to get the freely without protest

    Benfit:

    In three generations there will be NO DEMOCRATS

    If the justice system would actually catch and punish the criminals instead of chasing them or waiting for them then maybe there would be less overall crimes. Since it is obvious the police have now acknowledged they cannot keep up with the crimes that happeen as well as the crimes in progress, maybe they should finally rely on the honest and law abiding citizens to help them in the pursuit of stopping the criminals.  The criminals know the response time, the police patrol patterns, shift change, etc. so they are using that to get a head start.  I bet Chicago actually puts out the statistics on a website so the citizens and the criminals can see who has been affected.  Then the criminals lay out a new pattern of new victims from the spreadsheet the police provided them. Maybe they should stop helping the criminals so much and start helping the citizens.  Start by letting them fend for themsleves. I live in Viginia where they work with people and let them decide what and how much defense they want.  It is a personal choice.  I know some who were dead against guns until they were on the wrong end of one.  They soon learned what a gun was, got training and practice and now know the ends and outs of a weapon.  Training and experience makes you not fear a gun as our legislators want us to. The more you know the more you realize you have control of your destiny and life. Don’t take either one lightly. They are both fragile.

    Definition of a liberal; A person who is unable to except the truth as fact and facts as a truth.

    It’s still unbelievable and beyond my comprehension with all the data over so many years why liberals just don’t want to allow gun ownership. Please someone in very small words explain it to me!

    An alternative that might be acceptable to liberals is to expand the police force to 50% of the adult population. Then add another 20%, or so, as administrators to oversee the police force. This ought to work fine until the local economy collapses. A better idea is to let the law abiding populace protect themselves and collectively protect their neighbors. This would be much more cost effective. As I recall, the latter worked very well in Washington, D.C. thus giving Chicago the “most violent city” title.

    NEVER FORGET THIS. . . a police officer is under no obligation to act on your behalf, he is not obligated to defend you or your property.  He is immune from prosecution for his failure to act.  He is, however, fully liable for all acts committed outside of this official capacity, and pulling his gun to defend you is not an official compulsory act. Pulling his gun and defending you is, I believe, an act defensible under the 2nd amendment and one undertaken by him or her in their personal capacity.  The STATEs have this information codified within their statutes under the torts and liabilities section.  It is as plain as day and is there to protect the STATE (corporate character government) from the acts of persons under its employ.  Police owe no duty to defend you.
