WI Sheriff Tells Residents "You Have A Duty To Protect Yourself & Your Family"

Finally, sheriffs from around the country are coming out vocally against potential gun grabs and gun control legislation by the Obama administration and Congress. One of the latest to not only come out in support of the Second Amendment, but in support of the residents of his county to protect themselves and their families is Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke. After all, Clarke says that calling 911 is not your best option when facing a violent criminal.

In a radio ad, Clarke tells the residents of his county that their personal safety is not a “spectator sport.” He said, “I need you in the game.”

“With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option,” Clarke declared.

“You could beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed, or you can fight back.”

Clarke urges listeners to take a firearm safety course and handle a firearm “so you can defend yourself until we get there.”

“You have a duty to protect yourself and your family,” Clarke exhorted. “We’re partners now. Can I count on you?”

The Journal Sentinel reports,

Clarke has served as lightning rod before, most recently when he called for schools to arm teachers after the Newtown, Conn., massacre of 20 children and six adults at an elementary school. News of the sheriff’s gun ad quickly generated feedback.

Jodie Tabak, Mayor Tom Barrett’s spokeswoman, released this statement:

“Apparently, Sheriff David Clarke is auditioning for the next Dirty Harry movie.”

Many useful idiots like Mayor Barrett are completely misrepresenting what Clarke has said. For instance, Jeri Bonavia, executive director of Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort, said “What (Clarke’s) talking about is this amped up version of vigilantism. I don’t know what his motivations are for doing this. But I do know what he’s calling for is dangerous and irresponsible and he should be out there saying this is a mistake.”

“I think it’s irresponsible and it doesn’t help public safety to tell the public there’s some kind of imminent danger that they need to go buy guns,” County Executive Chris Abele said. “Essentially, you’ve got a (public service announcement) that’s recommending people need to go buy guns because they can’t rely on the response they’ll get from 911. I’m here to tell you, we have phenomenal police departments.”

Roy Felber, president of the Milwaukee Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, said “That doesn’t sound smart. That’s why society has police officers.” He claims Clarke’s ad sounds like vigilantism.

Clearly, society has police officers, not to protect us and defends us, but to enforce the law on those who have broken it. We should not fall sway to the nonsensical blather put forth by some of these bleeding hearts that think this is a call to vigilantism. It is nothing of the sort. It is simply calling upon people to remember they have a Constitutionally protect right to keep and bear arms and they have a moral duty to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Fran McLaughlin, Clarke’s spokeswoman, wrote in an email, “His message says to consider taking a certified course. His message says to fight back to protect yourself. People need to decide for themselves if they want to own a firearm.”

Now here’s a sheriff with some common sense.  Listen to him.  The police can only react to a burglary, they cannot help you until after the crime occurs.  All he can do then is clean up after the fact.

@sagebrush6 Sagebrush, The way I understand your comment is we should issue them mops to wipe up the victim’s blood because they were there too lat to be useful.

      • grumpyoldconservative

@Carl G Oehling  @sagebrush6 MANY times that is correct. If someone means you harm, the average response time of over 20 minutes is an “after the fact” event. A weapon in the hands of a law abiding citizen is a benefit to the people who live around him and is proven to reduce the crime rate.

““You have a duty to protect yourself and your family,” Clarke exhorted.” Indeed, a duty not a right and it comes not from the Constitution but from the Bible:

“But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1 Timothy 5:8)

Well that’s one man’s opinion, and we are a free country and anyone has a right to express their views. It seems like he is in opposition to 75% of the Chiefs in these United States. As for the liberty-loving Tim Brown, what does he do for a living so he can support 10 children? He must think that he is a one-man machine to reverse the demographic trend.  Since he regards South Carolina as an occupied colony, I wonder what he thinks of education? He better have smart progeny, because it costs quite a bit to educate one child.

STUDY: POLICE CHIEFS SUPPORT STRONGER GUN CONTROL LAWS
NRA Opposes Measures Backed By Police and the Public
TOLEDO – A new study shows police chiefs across the country support tougher gun control measures, including laws to require background checks on all firearm sales.
“Police Chiefs’ Perceptions of the Regulation of Firearms,” conducted by researchers from the University of Toledo, Kent State University, and Wayne State University and published in the April issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, found that law enforcement leaders support several gun control proposals opposed by the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Measures backed by at least 75 percent of police chiefs surveyed include requiring background checks for all handgun purchases (supported by 93.5 percent); equipping new handguns with trigger locks (82.7 percent); requiring background checks for all rifle and shotgun purchases; and requiring the addition of tamper-resistant serial numbers on firearms (81.5 percent).
The study concluded that most police chiefs believe gun rights must yield to public safety: “When asked whether they agreed with the statement that the government should do everything it can to keep handguns out of the hands of criminals, even if it means making it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to purchase handguns, again the majority (63%) indicated that they agreed with this statement,” the authors said.
“The NRA pretends to represent the interests of law enforcement, but this study shows that police understand the need for stronger gun laws,” said Joshua Horwitz, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy and education group. “Most cops just don’t buy what the NRA is selling, and no amount of spin will persuade law enforcement leaders that the gun lobby is looking out for them.”
Congress is now considering S. 2460/H.R. 5033, legislation that will repeal laws that prevent the federal government from sharing information about guns traced to crimes with state and local police.  The NRA is supporting H.R. 5005, a bill that would impose additional restrictions on access to this data, making it harder for police to track gun crime and the criminals who sell firearms to violent felons.
Toby Hoover, executive director of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence in Toledo, said the new study’s findings on the attitudes of police chiefs toward concealed weapons are especially revealing in light of the recent debate over the issue in the state legislature. “Concealed-carry laws have become a pet project of the legislators in Ohio, but this study found that more than half of police chiefs don’t believe civilians should be carrying guns at all in public places,” Hoover said.
The study also found police chiefs with 30 or more years of experience in law enforcement were more likely to support gun control than those with less experience.  The more experienced officers, for example, were more likely to support requiring background checks when purchasing a gun than those on the force for less than 30 years.
Not surprisingly, the study found significant differences between chiefs who belong to the NRA members and those who do not, with non-NRA members being more supportive of tougher gun laws.
Gun violence prevention groups have long supported efforts to require background checks on all firearm sales, including sales at gun shows, as well as laws to require microstamping technology, which makes it more difficult to remove serial number markings, on all new guns.

Who responded? what partof the country was represented? Why was the question about backgroung checks even asked when it is the law now that all gun sales at a FFL  have a FBI background check? This study was a total setup to puse the desired agenda.

    • grumpyoldconservative

@the Truth Seeker Both comments seem to indicate that you believe that the average 23 minute 911 response time is adequate to protect your family; it isn’t. I have a sign, just inside my front door that states,”That door that you just broke down was there for your protection, not mine.” I, for one, will not put my families well being in the hands of someone else.

The Second Amendment assures my right to protect my family and country from tyrants; both foreign and domestic. It shall not(WILL NOT) be impeded.

The little pinhead in the white house has no authority to remove Constitutional Rights from the people. He will NOT have backing from our military, national guards or police. He will NOT remove our weapons and has NO Authority to do so.

      • the Truth Seeker

@grumpyoldconservative How many of the 32,000 gun deaths, and the 10’s of thousands of lives who were saved by EMS, etc. were caused by poor response time? You don’t know and either do I. But the amount of self-defense killings in the US were 165 in the most recent year that the stats were available. How many break-ins were thwarted by guns? No one knows but any time one reads the NRA commissioned reports, the numbers are inflated beyond rational belief. What numbers are supplied by the police? You look them up!

    • MJ123

@the Truth Seeker You don’t seek the truth.  You seek to support your agenda, and you’re doing a great job of it, admittedly.  If you outlaw airliners, you’ll see a HUGE decrease in deaths by airliner.  If you stop there, then ’nuff said.   BUT… if you consider that, without airliners, people have to DRIVE more, and that flying is statistically the safest way to travel, you’d see a severe increase in the number of TRAFFIC fatalities.  So, unless you knew where to look, and unless you considered the source of your “Outlaw Airliners” activist, you’d vote to outlaw airliners.  Places with less guns do, admittedly, have less gun suicides, accidents, etc.  What about the increase in OVERALL crime though?  Are you going to try and tell me Washington D.C. is a more peaceful place IN GENERAL without handguns?  Or Chicago, murder capitol of the world?

Also, even with all you’ve been selling, you’re leaving out one other CRITICAL bit of information, which is this:  EVERY act of genocide has begun with firearm confiscation.  Hitler did it, Mao did it, the list goes on.  Even if we were to accept your one sided – blind sided, I might add – arguments, it’s ALL WORTH IT in order to insure a tyranny free society.  I’ll take my chances with suicide, getting my guns ripped off, accidents, etc – in order to be able to make it 10X harder for a tyrannical take over.  And don’t start with “the government has nukes, should we have nukes?”  Of course not.  Citizens should be able to carry whatever a foot soldier carries.  They won’t come door to door with nukes, or tanks.  It’s impractical and WAY too expensive.  They go door to door with troops – who make great targets for a bunch of pissed off citizenry who are sick of their hocus pocus “for the children” bull crap.  Armed, we’re a pain in the ass to push around.  Unarmed, it’s a piece of cake.

      *  Personal Accountability.
      *  Personal responsibility.
      *  Personal freedom.

Take a hike, truth seeker, until you’re ready to look at the BIG picture.

Title: Police Chiefs’ Perceptions of the Regulation of Firearms
    Publication Date: April 2006
    What does it say?
This study assessed the support for various types of gun control measures by police chiefs in cities across the nation, along with their perceptions regarding firearms as a public health issue, and the likelihood of initiating gun control advocacy activities. The data collected for this study comes from a sample of 600 police chiefs in cities with populations larger than 25,000 citizens with a response rate of 67.5% (405 respondents). The majority of police chiefs surveyed supported the proposed firearm control policies, including background checks on handgun and long gun purchases, tamper resistant serial numbers, and prohibiting civilians from carrying firearms in a public setting, among many other policies. Most police chiefs (62%) also believed that the government should do everything in its power to prevent handguns from reaching the hands of criminals, even if it makes it tougher for law-abiding individuals to purchase a firearm. Though the majority of police chiefs were not likely to participate in advocacy activities, those that would participate in these activities were most likely to meet with or write a letter to state legislators regarding gun regulation. In brief, police chiefs support many potential firearm control policies that could save lives and prevent incidents of gun violence from occurring.

You need to protect and defend yourself. No one else can do it. Law enforcement is handcuffed and overwelmed.

  • Blessings

All the Law Enforcement I know have said they will never take their neighbors guns. They will walk off the job. Their bosses and their bosses will do the same. All my Military friends said the same. Obama doesn’t really have anyone that would fallow an order to remove our guns or arrest us.. I don’t know one law enforcement person or Military person who has any respect for that A Hole in OUR WHITE HOUSE!!!!

  • jzamacona

When you call 911 is because the criminal is already in your house, what happens to you and your family while the police gets there is yours. You are the sole responsible person on whether you and your family are alive when the cops get there. Its called reality.

Home Opinion OPINION: Police want tighter gun control laws
    Posted: Thursday, December 27, 2012 5:15 pm

By Cokie and Steve Roberts | 1 comment
When members of the Newtown police force entered the school auditorium where President Obama was about to speak, the crowd rose and applauded. The officers’ quick response to the carnage at Sandy Hook Elementary School had probably saved many young lives.
As the nation starts debating the lessons of Newtown, where a gunman killed 26 people, including 20 children, we should listen to what law enforcement officers have to say. Their message is clear and consistent: Tighten gun control laws.
The National Rifle Association likes to depict gun control advocates as liberal loonies who don’t respect or understand red-blooded, heat-packing Americans. But that characterization has always been unfair. The men and women who patrol our streets every day are the loudest advocates for greater restrictions on gun ownership.
Listen to James Johnson, the police chief of Baltimore County, Md., and the new chairman of the National Law Enforcement Partnership to Prevent Gun Violence: “America, we are not doing enough to keep guns out of the wrong hands. We are long past the point of saying ‘enough is enough.’ The mantra has grown old. It’s time to take action to keep firearms from dangerous people.”
No law can protect every child — or every cop — from a crazy person with a gun. But it’s absurd and even immoral to assert, as the gun lobby does, that because laws are imperfect, they are useless.
We don’t cancel speed limits or drunken driving laws, even though they are violated constantly. We make them tighter and enforce them better because we know they save lives. Police officers say the same thing about gun laws, and they should know. As the nation was focusing on Newtown, Conn., two police officers in Topeka, Kan., were shot and killed outside a grocery store. “It’s clearly beyond words,” lamented Topeka’s police chief, Ronald Miller. “It’s unspeakable … about why this is happening in America at this stage in our history.”
The police focus on several key issues, starting with the easy availability of military assault weapons, the kind used in Newtown and other recent massacres. They are especially alarmed by high-capacity magazines that enable shooters to spray 30 and even 100 bullets without reloading.
“It is ridiculous to argue that hunters or civilians who own weapons for self-defense need a 100-round drum magazine,” Johnson says. “As we have seen, people don’t stand a chance against this kind of firepower.”
Police Chief Robert White of Denver told the local website Westword: “Gun policies are absolutely critical. Assault weapons serve no practical purpose. You can’t use them for hunting. We’re not soldiers in a war abroad. ”
The second major area of concern for the police is faulty background checks. Under current law, those checks are required only when a gun is bought through a licensed dealer. But 40 percent of all sales are made at gun shows or through other private transactions and are entirely untraceable.
Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy tells the Chicago Tribune that this huge loophole must be closed. He notes that one of his officers was shot with a gun originally sold in 1972 that got totally lost in the system. “Where has that gun been since 1972?” he asks. “And the problem is, they don’t have expiration dates. It’s not like milk. That gun from 1972 is just as deadly in 2012 as it was in 1972. We’ve got to do something about the flow of firearms here.”
Police chiefs are political creatures; they’ve been preaching this sermon a long time, and they know why the problem persists. “We talk about this constantly, and absolutely nothing happens,” says Philadelphia police Commissioner Charles Ramsey, “because many of our legislators, unfortunately, at the federal level lack the courage to do anything.”
He’s right about that, but there are small signs that Newtown might have some positive effect. A few lawmakers finally seem motivated to defy the NRA, which has followed the infuriating but effective strategy of opposing all restrictions on all guns at all times. Reasonable compromises are out there that won’t violate anybody’s right to defend his home or bag his buck: Ban assault weapons, or at least high-powered magazines; extend background checks to all gun sales; improve the sharing of information among government agencies so that the mentally unstable or criminally inclined have a tougher time buying guns.
These measures won’t save every life, but they’ll save some, and that’s a deal worth making. Just ask the cops.

Speaking of the danger of owning a gun, there is far more research on the question of who is most likely to get killed when someone keeps a gun at home. In a 1986 study called “Protection or Peril?,” Dr. Arthur Kellermann, a University of Tennessee professor of medicine, and Dr. Donald Reay, chief medical examiner of King County in Washington, concluded that for each defensive, justifiable homicide there were 43 murders, suicides or accidental deaths. Out of 398 gunshot fatalities in homes in King County between 1978 and 1983, only nine were motivated by self- defense.

The one-week survey by TIME found a similar ratio on a national basis: only 14 of the 464 gun deaths resulted from defensive firing. An alarming 216 were suicides, 22 were accidental, and many of the rest involved homicides among people who knew each other well rather than citizens gunned down by strangers.
Such statistics do not refute the argument that a gun, even if not fired, can save a life by discouraging a murderous attacker. Still, Tulane sociologist James Wright points out that guns have limited usefulness in preventing crimes. About 90% of crimes in homes occur when the resident is away, he notes, while violent crimes often take place on the streets. Says Wright: “Unless you make a habit of walking around with your gun at all times, you’re not going to stop that either.”

A relatively balanced view of the gun question comes, surprisingly, from Kleck. “The vast majority of the population lives in low-crime neighborhoods and has virtually no need for a gun for defensive reasons,” he says. “A tiny fraction has a great deal of reason to get anything it can get that might help reduce its victimization.”
Even the American Rifleman accounts, of how helpful a gun can be in saving a life, may not always tell the full story. In the case of cabdriver Bolton, the N.R.A. magazine failed to report how chance, rather than her pistol, saved her life. Bolton told the Arizona Republic that after she wounded her assailant, he grabbed her gun, pushed the barrel against her neck and pulled the trigger several times. What really saved Bolton was that she had emptied the chamber. Said she: “I kept thinking that maybe there was a bullet still in it and it would go off at any minute.” If that had happened, the incident undoubtedly would not have appeared in the Rifleman.

Back in 2007, guns took the lives of 31,224 Americans in homicides, suicides and unintentional shootings. This is the equivalent of more than 85 deaths each day and more than three deaths each hour. 69,863 Americans were treated in hospital emergency department for non-fatal gunshot wounds in 2007. Firearms were the third-leading cause of injury-related deaths nationwide in 2007, following motor vehicle accidents and poisoning.

Between 1955 and 1975, the Vietnam War killed over 58,000 American soldiers – less than the number of civilians killed with guns in the U.S. in an average two-year period. In the first seven years of the U.S.-Iraq War, over 4,400 American soldiers were killed. Almost as many civilians are killed with guns in the U.S., however, every seven weeks.

Guns were used in 12,632 homicides in 2007, comprising over 40% of all gun deaths, and nearly 69% of all homicides. On average, 33 gun homicides were committed each day for the years 2002-2007.7  Regions and states with higher rates of gun ownership have significantly higher rates of homicide than states with lower rates of gun ownership. Where guns are prevalent, there are significantly more homicides, particularly gun homicides.

Firearms were used in 17,352 suicides in 2007, constituting 55% of all gun deaths. Over 50% of all suicides are committed with a firearm. On average, 46 gun suicides were committed each day for the years 2001-2007. White males, about 40% of the U.S. population, accounted for over 80% of firearm suicides in 2007. A study of California handgun purchasers found that in the first year after the purchase of a handgun, suicide was the leading cause of death among the purchasers. Firearms were used in 45% of suicide deaths among persons under age 25 in 2007.More than 75% of guns used in suicide attempts and unintentional injuries of 0-19 year-olds were stored in the residence of the victim, a relative, or a friend. The risk of suicide increases in homes where guns are kept loaded and/or unlocked..

    Unintentional Deaths & Injuries
Unfortunately, up to date figures of gun violence, historically collected by the ATF and the FBI, have been strictly limited in recent years by the GOP Congress, with the blessing of the disgraced GW Bush, 43, who had a nobles oblige concept regarding gun violence and deaths by firearms,

In 2007, guns were the cause of the unintentional deaths of 613 people. From 2001 through 2007, over 4,900 people in the United States died from unintentional shootings. Over 1,750 victims of unintentional shootings between 2001 and 2007 were under 25 years of age. In recent years, because of the Great Recession, crime, which had dropped severely, starting in the Clinton Years, with gun buy backs, more social programs for the poor and lower middle classes, a greater sensitivity for the disadvantaged along with the aging of the criminal class that plague America after the Vietnam War and the “Crack Epidemic” is again on the rise, especially in the cities where chronic unemployment continues to linger fester and even grow.

People of all age groups are significantly more likely to die from unintentional firearm injuries when they live in states with more guns, relative to states with fewer guns. On average, states with the highest gun levels had nine times the rate of unintentional firearms deaths compared to states with the lowest gun levels.

A federal government study of unintentional shootings found that 8% of such shooting deaths resulted from shots fired by children under the age of six.  The U.S. General Accounting Office has estimated that 31% of unintentional deaths caused by firearms might be prevented by the addition of two devices: a child-proof safety lock (8%) and a loading indicator (23%).

Guns increase the probability of death in incidents of domestic violence. Firearms were used to kill more than two-thirds of spouse and ex-spouse homicide victims between 1990 and 2005.27 Domestic violence assaults involving a firearm are 23 times more likely to result in death than those involving other weapons or bodily force. Abused women are five times more likely to be killed by their abuser if the abuser owns a firearm.
A recent survey of female domestic violence shelter residents in California found that more than one third (36.7%) reported having been threatened or harmed with a firearm. In nearly two thirds (64.5%) of the households that contained a firearm, the intimate partner had used the firearm against the victim, usually threatening to shoot or kill the victim. Laws that prohibit the purchase of a firearm by a person subject to a domestic violence restraining order are associated with a reduction in the number of intimate partner homicides.32 Between 1990 and 2005, individuals killed by current dating partners made up almost half of all spouse and current dating partner homicides.

A study of applicants for domestic violence restraining orders in Los Angeles found that the most common relationship between the victim and abuser was a dating relationship, and applications for protective orders were more likely to mention firearms when the parties had not lived together and were not married.
For additional information about domestic violence and firearms, including background information and state and local laws on the topic, see LCAV’s Domestic Violence and Firearms Policy Summary.

    Costs of Gun Violence
Firearm-related deaths and injuries result in estimated medical costs of $2.3 billion each year – half of which are borne by U.S. taxpayers. Once all the direct and indirect medical, legal and societal costs are factored together, the annual cost of gun violence in America amounts to $100 billion. Americans own an estimated 270 million firearms – approximately 90 guns for every 100 people. In 2007, nearly 70% of all murders nationwide were committed with a firearm.  In 2007, 385,178 total firearm crimes were committed, including 11,512 murders, 190,514 robberies, and 183,153 aggravated assaults.

Guns cause the death of 20 children and young adults (24 years of age and under) each day in the U.S. children and young adults (24 years of age and under) constitute over 41% of all firearm deaths and non-fatal injuries. In the United States, over 1.69 million kids age 18 and under are living in households with loaded and unlocked firearms. More than 75% of guns used in suicide attempts and unintentional injuries of 0-19 year-olds were stored in the residence of the victim, a relative, or a friend. A 2000 study found that 55% of U.S. homes with children and firearms have one or more firearms in an unlocked place; 43% have guns without a trigger lock in an unlocked place. The practices of keeping firearms locked, unloaded, and storing ammunition in a locked location separate from firearms may assist in reducing youth suicide and unintentional injury in homes with children and teenagers where guns are stored. Many young children, including children as young as three years old, are strong enough to fire handguns.

Using a gun in self-defense is no more likely to reduce the chance of being injured during a crime than various other forms of protective action.  Of the 13,636 Americans who were murdered in 2009, only 215 were killed by firearms (165 by handguns) in homicides by private citizens that law enforcement determined were justifiable. A study reviewing surveys of gun use in the U.S. determined that most self-reported self-defense gun uses may well be illegal and against the interests of society.

From 1993 to 2001, an annual average of  737,360 violent crimes were committed with handguns in the U.S., making handguns seven times more likely to be used to commit violent crimes than other firearms. Although handguns make up only 34% of firearms, approximately 80% of firearm homicides are committed with a handgun.  Women face an especially high risk of handgun violence. In 2008, 71% of female homicide victims were killed with a handgun A California study found that in the first year after the purchase of a handgun, suicide was the leading cause of death among handgun purchasers. In the first week after the purchase of a handgun, the firearm suicide rate among the purchasers was 57 times as high as the adjusted rate in the general population.

A 1991 study documenting the effectiveness of Washington, D.C.’s law banning handguns (this law was recently repealed following the U.S. Supreme Court ruling finding it unconstitutional in District of Columbia v. Heller, 128 S. Ct. 2783 (2008)) found that following the enactment of the ban in 1976, there was a 25% decline in homicides committed with firearms and a 23% decline in suicides committed with firearms within the District of Columbia. No similar reductions were observed in the number of homicides or suicides committed by other means, nor were similar reductions found in the adjacent metropolitan areas in Maryland and Virginia. As a result of its now-repealed handgun ban, the District of Columbia had the lowest rate of youth suicide in the nation – lower than any state.

      @the Truth Seeker
A lot of libtard misinformation on display here. Time to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

      1) THE LIE – AR15s are military killing machines that have no place in a civilized society.
THE TRUTH – The AR15 is NOT a military weapon. The M16 is a military weapon – it can fire on full auto. The AR15 fires one time every time you pull the trigger – precisely the same as any handgun.
      2) THE LIE – 30 round magazines make the AR15 very deadly. THE TRUTH – some handguns already come with 30 round magazines, most other pistols have 30 round magazines available. Magazines are no more complicated than Pez dispensers – any halfway competent machinist can make one in his garage using handtools if they have to, so banning 30 round magazines will do nothing. Finally – a reasonable adept person can change a magazine in about a second – making a gunman change a ten-round magazine twice in order to fire 30 rounds isn’t going to make any difference to his rate of fire.
      3) THE LIE – The bullet fired by an AR15 is much more destructive than a handgun bullet. THE TRUTH – no it isn’t, the bullet from an AR15 weighs 55 grains and has a muzzle energy of ~1300 foot-pounds, the bullet from an M1911 pistol weighs 230 grains and has a muzzle energy of ~900 foot-pounds. Yes the muzzle energy of the pistol is lower than that of the rifle but the pistol round is much more likely to expend all its energy within the target while the small diameter of the rifle round makes it much more likely to punch through the target and expend energy down-range. That is what happened at Sandy Hook – which is why most of those little kids were shot more than once.
      4) THE LIE – The US has a much higher rate of gun ownership than other countries which is why we have a higher rate of homicides. THE TRUTH – the people who say this always compare us to European countries and Japan and ignore the rest of the world. If you look at a table of the countries in the world showing homicides per capita in descending order, the US comes in at 108th (out of 210). If guns were the problem we should be first on this list. Amongst European countries Switzerland has the highest gun ownership rate – they also have the lowest gun homicide rate. Russia has much stricter gun control laws than the US but a homicide rate that is several times our rate.
      5) THE LIE – We don’t need “Assault Rifles” to defend ourselves. THE TRUTH – yes we do, because unlike the semi-automatic rifles that libtards wet their pants over, the criminals have REAL, fully-automatic, Assault Rifles that have a much higher rate of fire and that easily outrange handguns. We are already behind in this area – we don’t need to slip any further.
      6) THE LIE – The government isn’t going to ban handguns – they just want to take “Assault Weapons” off the streets. THE TRUTH – When the original Assault Weapons ban was brought in in 1994 , it’s proponents were very clear that this was just the thin end of the wedge – that they intended to go after handguns next.

EVERY YEAR LEGALLY OWNED FIREARMS ARE USED TO PREVENT VIOLENT CRIMES BETWEEN 2.5 AND 4.5 MILLION TIMES – WITHOUT BEING FIRED. The newsmedia doesn’t report on crimes that don’t occur. Ban guns and these crimes WILL occur, and the carnage will make Sandy Hook look like a Sunday School picnic.

The nonsense that you have provided about Washington DC is a flat out lie: http://frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/how-washington-d-c-s-gun-ban-led-to-a-crime-wave-in-the-80s/

    • MarkHess1

I think your a liberal trying to sway us!!!  go be a speck of shit on somebody elses wall!!!!  I had 3 kids with loaded guns in my house but being a good parent and father I taught my kids to respect them! unloaded guns kill people accidently not loaded ones!! and my 3 kids know how to use them very well and the youngest is 25, I think most of the problems your blaming on guns is the parents lack of responsibility in raising their children! how many of the gun related deaths happened in one parent and poor homes?? how many had rotten parents that would rather drink and do drugs than raise the children they are responsible for?? dont blame it on the guns, blame it on the parents for  giving them tough love instead of letting them do what they want would help more than anything!!

      • Don39

@MarkHess1 And your comment was addressed to?

        • MarkHess1

          @Don39 truthseeker ! dumb libtard

    • Don39

@the Truth Seeker Liar, no one is reading your repetitive lies!

  • Seymour Kleerly

This article is lying when it implies that the Gov. wants to take away guns for home protection.

    • GordonFrampton

@Seymour Kleerly He’s NOT lying – the government have said repeatedly that they want to do away with all guns and that the “assault weapons” ban is just the thin end of the wedge.

That is the way that they did it in Great Britain.

      • sscannell05

@GordonFrampton  @Seymour Kleerly I live here in Briton and trust me; the Police here are not happy about being unarmed. I talk to them all the time and they wish they had their guns back.

    • kid721952

      @Seymour Kleerly
Diann Feinstein wants to BAN ALL TYPES OF FIREARMS not just assault style weapons and the GOVERNMENT and obama are supporting the ban so I would say that includes guns for home protection and “YES” the government is behind her, seymour who would you say is trying to take our guns if its NOT THE GOVERNMENT and please don’t tell me republicans, that would be a damm lie

      • Don39

@kid721952  @Seymour Kleerly She wants to register ALL weapons and tax them, first step registration and then taxation! Ever heard that before? Presumably since the FBI says that more people are killed by hammers and clubs, they are included weapons! Same for the good old kitchen butcher knife. A $200 registration fee to register your golf clubs, hammers, and kitchen knives anyone? Sound absurd? You are dealing with an absurd regime people! Wake up. Look at the extreme lies the paid leftist commentators on this site are spouting!

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Don39  @kid721952 I think the NRA and affiliates are just unwilling to give an inch and are yet again distorting reality. They want profits at any cost and you’re gullible enough to believe them. You’re way out in Right field and owe it to your country to think a little harder.

        • Batsin_Bellfry

          @Seymour Kleerly  @Don39  @kid721952
Seymour, typical liberal, get caught with a lie, change the subject.
But as for your new subject, you have your head up your ass. It is not JUST the NRA etc. It is EVERY constitution believing American. Even non gun owners support the 2nd Amendment. And NO we are not giving an inch. What part of “shall NOT be infringed” does not register with you?
The 2nd Amendment has three purposes. 1. protect ourselves from criminals. 2. protect ourselves from foreign invaders. (find out why the Japanese did not invade mainland America) 3. protect ourselves from a domestic tryannical government. Such as what the American colony fought, and such as we now have again.
You should really see this video. Very disturbing what governments have done to their OWN citizens.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Batsin_Bellfry  @Don39  @kid721952 Please point out my lie. Show me any credible Democrat who proposes the confiscation of fire arms for home protection. Not some insignificant whacko or some Right Wing Propaganda lowbrow fiction that only a very few would believe.

        • kid721952

          @Seymour Kleerly  @Don39
You want to know what the reality really is,obama wants to CONTROL ALL AMERICANS and to do that you have to DISARM ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS after they are disarmed as happened with hitler, stalin, mao, castro and chavez they are easier to control also after disarming comes no rights,no protection,no wealth an equal distribution of poverty, mass murder-genocide,a dictatorship of the United States or as was the case in germany, russia, china, cuba and venezuala,THAT IS REALITY! I don’t like socialism,I don’t want socialism and I don’t want it for my children and grand children,if YOU want a country with no guns MOVE TO ONE OF THOSE COUNTRIES,feel the boot like they are

        • Seymour Kleerly

@kid721952  @Don39 So you’re equating Obama’s motives with the most sinister and murderous dictators ever? You really need serious help and quick. Dumb gullible, simplistic, etc., don’t do you guys justice. We need a new word.

    • Truth goes 100 mph

@Seymour Kleerly Seeless;  Why is Homeland Security buying thousands of FULLY AUTOMATIC “assault weapons?”  Obama getting a little nervous?

  • romojo

Mr. “the truth seeker”——–Repeating your answer 50 times does not make it more truthful or intelligent.  You can get statistics to say anything you want them to.  But if I am faced with a criminal in my house, I want to have that gun in my hand between him and me—-and I shoot really well!

    • the Truth Seeker

@romojo Denying reality doesn’t support your arguments. There are differences of opinion, which obviously exist. Not all of the people that support strict gun control are stupid or commies. The vast amount of support comes from Americas who are just as patriotic, and for my money a lot more educated and intelligent. The support for unlimited gun ownership is focused in the Red State and amongst the most bigoted intolerant areas of the hinterlands. You may disagree with that observation, and that is your right.

As to the Red States where this paranoia exists at the highest and most irrational level, these are some realities:In the “Red States” where the NRA and the Evangelical Christian Right exert so much political clout and legislative influence, in the November’s Vanity Fair magazine (please access the following site: http://louisvilledivorce.typepad.com/info/2006/11/red_state_blue.html ) one can read about the “real” national statistics on morality. The “Red States” lead in violent crime, overall crime, divorce, illegitimacy, infidelity, multiple sexual partners, rape, incest, teenage mortality, drug abuse and incarceration. One should ask why?

As to illegitimacy rates, according to the National Center for Health Statistics, of states with the highest percentage of births in 2003 to unwed mothers, 9 of the top 10 are “red” states. The rate for teen mortality by suicide, homicide and accidents, despite their state’s reputation for family, religious and moral values, was much higher in the “red” states. In fact the top ten states regarding that statistic are “red,” and the bottom ten are “blue!” Not only that the top ten states in alcohol dependence and abuse, are “red” states. The incidence of venereal disease is 40% higher in the “red” states.

So deny, deny, and deny. So scream, scream and scream, So call it an elitist, commie conspiracy. No sane person will swallow that desperate rationale and excuse-making.

      • Jdangiel

        @the Truth Seeker  @romojo
There are “differences of opinion” and then there are the facts versus debunked nonsense.  They got you point, match, set.  Now go away.

      • Hawker 1

        @the Truth Seeker  @romojo
Truth Seeker by your describing the hitherlands in your stupid rant ,you must be from either the east or west coast liberal elitist minded Ah,s that believes you have the right to run other peoples lives . You and your kind are the lowest lowlife yellow scum. Stay away ,stay far away from the hitherlands for if you so much as set a foot any where close and think you or your lowlife kind are going to take our guns you will not make it back to your east or west coast .

      • Noreasterner

@the Truth Seeker @romojo The “red state” mentality idea is a farce. If you look instead at the number of “red counties” in the US you will see the “red state” mentality is wide spread across the entire nation.

      • WilliamVincent

        @the Truth Seeker  @romojo
Your statistics are off, matter of fact if you take ILL, Mich, Ca, NY all blue states lead in murders, and probably all the catagories you mentioned, I doubt if any of your statistics are true……But spoken like a true liberal you would lie, just like your president, to prove your point.  You like to use words like bigoted and intolerent, and irrational…..But, what would you call a man that would see if his military would fire on the citizens of his own country, a free country,  I would call that irrational, and that person is definitely paranoid, and any of his followers, are definitely Un- American, and  not in favor of Freedom.  What is the color of the states were mass murders have occured.

      • Truth goes 100 mph

@the Truth Seeker  @romojo I dare you to walk down ANY Martin Luther King Blvd. at 12 midnight ALONE.  You have more BS than a pasture.  Please go as I think I hear King George calling you.

          @Truth goes 100 mph    @romojo
That was a great suggestion for the Truth Seeker (misnomer) to walk down any MLK Blvd at midnight, alone.  Bet would be secretly packing a gun and a knife for that little stroll.

      • RichardWest

@the Truth Seeker  @romojo Funny how you should say the red states are so bad.  Could it be you have taken facts out of context, just to further your Libtard lies.  The fact remains, most violent crimes are committed by minorities.  Most minorities are Libs.  Therefore most violent crimes are committed by Liberals.  Same is true of your alcoholic and unwed mother statistics.  Where the Hell do you get your “facts”?

    • emick

  • the Truth Seeker

The U.S. has the highest rate of firearm deaths among 25 high-income nations. Another study concluded that among 36 high-income and upper-middle-income countries, the U.S. has the highest overall gun mortality rate. The overall firearm-related death rate among U.S. children under the age of 15 is nearly 12 times higher than that among children in 25 other industrialized nations combined  The firearm-related suicide rate for children between the ages of 5 and 14 years old in the United States is nearly 11 times higher than that in 25 other developed countries. Americans own far more civilian firearms – particularly handguns – than people in other industrialized nations and U.S. gun laws are among the most lax in the world.

Living in a home where there are guns increases the risk of homicide by 40 to 170% and the risk of suicide by 90 to 460%.Guns kept in the home are more likely to be involved in a fatal or nonfatal unintentional shooting, criminal assault or suicide attempt than to be used to injure or kill in self-defense. Having a gun in the home is associated with an increased risk of firearm homicide and firearm suicide in the home, regardless of storage practice, type of gun, or number of guns in the home. Rather than conferring protection, guns in the home are associated with an increase in the risk of homicide by a family member or intimate acquaintance. The relative risk of dying from an unintentional gunshot injury is 3.7 times higher for adults living in homes with guns, with handguns in the home posing a particular threat. States with higher rates of household firearm ownership have significantly higher homicide victimization rates. People who keep a gun in their home are almost twice as likely to die in a gun-related homicide and 16 times more likely to use a gun to commit suicide than people without a gun in their home. A study of firearm storage patterns in U.S. homes found that “[o]f the homes with children and firearms, 55% were reported to have one or more firearms in an unlocked place,” and 43% reported keeping guns without a trigger lock in an unlocked place. A recent study on adult firearm storage practices in U.S. homes found that over 1.69 million children and youth under age 18 are living in homes with loaded and unlocked firearms.

Keeping a firearm unloaded and locked, with the ammunition stored in a locked location separate from the firearm, significantly decreases the risk of suicide and unintentional firearm injury and death involving both long guns and handguns. These safe storage measures serve as a “protective effect” and assist in reducing youth suicide and unintentional injury in homes with children and teenagers where guns are stored.  The presence of unlocked guns in the home increases the risk not only of accidental gun injuries but of intentional shootings as well. One study found that more than 75% of the guns used in youth suicide attempts and unintentional injuries were stored in the residence of the victim, a relative, or a friend.

So where is the threat? It comes overwhelmingly from gun owners to themselves. It comes from people who are careless about their own legal guns. It comes from stolen guns left unlocked or available in insecure homes. The evidence of these realities is undeniable. The amount of break-ins thwarted by gun owners is tiny. Often the guns are turned on the owner. There is plenty of evidence of that.

As for gun ownership, no one is advocating the disarming of a defensive weapon in the home. But how do you protect your children and siblings from gun violence and pilferage when they are not lucked up securely? Ammunition kept from a pistol or a rifle will not help anyone from a break-in. The percentage of break-ins is small. most criminals often do not carry a deadly weapon and again one’s chance of being killed by their own weapon, according to the latest AFT and FBI estimates; 27 to 1 over being killed in the street or by an intruder. In most areas of Americans the chance of being killed in the street are 1 in many thousands. Even in NYC where there are very tough gun laws there were only 414 murders amongst 8 million residents and scores of millions of visitors. You have a better chance of being killed by a meteor.

    • GordonFrampton

      @the Truth Seeker
Here are the flaws that make nonsense of your most recent crop of lies:
      1) “25 high income nations” – if you cherry-pick the countries that you compare the US to you can get the data to come out the way you want. If you are honest and you compare us to ALL the countries in the world we rank number 108 out of 210 in the number of homicides. All the countries above us on the list HAVE strict gun control. If guns were the problem we should be number 1 not number 108.
      2) Homes with guns. This has been debunked many times. What you have described as gun violence within happy homes is ACTUALLY gun violence in crack houses – reflecting the fact that drug dealers and addicts usually know each other and that they use drugs in houses frequented by other dealers and addicts. The rate of violent crime between drug dealers and addcits is far higher than the general population. Mrs Brady is NOT shooting Marcia.
      3) Guns turned on owner. There have been precisely seven (7) recorded instances of guns being turned on their owners. Cops are FAR more likely to have their weapons used against them than civilians.
      4) Break ins thwarted. Every year in the US between 2.5 and 4.5 MILLION violent crimes are prevented by law-abiding citizens using fire-arms. 92% of the time they are not fired.
      5) disarmament. A particularly stupid lie – both Feinstein and obama have advocated for removing ALL guns. precisely what has happened in the UK and Australia with horrendous results.
      6) NYC crime low. The Sullivan amendment was first put into place in 1911. It had no effect on crime for almost 70 years until william bratton became police chief and discovered that proactively targeting criminals reduced crime. Bloomberg likes to claim credit for the decrease in crime – he had nothing to do with it.

You need to wake up and smell the coffee. Your “facts” and “statistics” have been debunked years ago. Read: “More guns, Less Crime” by John Lott if you want to know the truth.

      • Don39

@GordonFrampton  @the Truth Seeker He seeks not the truth, his first lie! He ignors the truth. He is here only to spout the lies of the leftist regime.          Thank you for your powerful and succinct statements pointing out the wisdom of having your own fire-arms.  I don’t presently own a gun, but would like to have the option open if I decided I needed one for personal protection for me and my family.  I live in a drug-infested, high crime area (with gangs) in Florida.    My husband is physically handicapped and we are vulnerable.

        • Batsin_Bellfry

          @Florida Girl
I think you just made your own point. You are vulnerable. Shop around, find one that fits YOU. Some gun shops have a range where you can even try out several. You don’t want to buy something that is hard for you to shoot. Then it becomes an expensive unused paperweight.

        • Truth goes 100 mph

@Florida Girl  @GordonFrampton Simple solution:  Stop voting Democrat and purchase a smaller weapon if a bigger one is not to your liking.  If the Truth Seeker attempts to enter your home,  3 to the chest as a head shot would go through an empty cavity.  Go Girl!

Good advice:  I stopped voting Democrat the first time Obama ran and changed my political party shortly thereafter.   Getting a smaller weapon seems to be more fitting for me.  If the Truth Seeker attempts to enter my home I could certainly place 2 to the chest and 1 to the abdomen, putting that one bullet from the aborted empty head shot to good use.

You believe what ever you like, check stats on gang related shootings, check members of gangs you’ll find most are illegals and if you check the guns you will also find that non are registered and illegal which usually come from across the border “illegally”,guns in honest, law abidding homes are there for theirs and their families protection,an intruder breaks into my house to harm myself or my family will get shot if it comes down to “HIM OR ME AND MY FAMILY and I choose me and my family,it only takes a few seconds to shoot someone,do you really think the police can get there in time to stop it from happening, being armed will stop him before I can get thru dialing 911 and my family will be alive instead of a statistic in the obituary column,I’ll keep my 2nd amendment rights and my family alive thank you.obama WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL UN OR FOREIGN TROOPS they will do what they please UNLESS WE ARE ARMED

He needs to desperately gain attention to justify his existence. Nothing I have seen from him is “Truth” It’s just a catchy name and a bunch of phoney “facts” that are twisted to make him seem smart and “right”.
If anyone comes to take away my guns, I’ll go out fighting. I am all for this sheriff and I think he is correct.
My 6th great uncle, Thomas Jefferson said that the tree of liberty needs to be refreshed from time to time with the blood of tyrants and patriots. He suggested about every twenty years or so. I think we are way past that time. I pray it does not happen, but I fear it is coming.

  • Muleskinner

When I took my concealed handgun course, the instructor said that every woman should at least be able to use a gun to protect herself and her children because a criminal will take the man out first because they think he possess the bigger threat. I am proud that I have had my CHL since 2006 and I have never killed anyone or any living thing and I carry everyday. I thank God and my 200 year old Second Amendment for the right to protect myself against criminals. I rather carry a gun everyday for the rest of my life and never need it instead of needing to protect myself and not have a means to do so. After all, Obama just voted himself and family armed protection for LIFE and that doesn’t cost him a penny, but it cost the taxpayers. His girls attended a school that has eleven (11) armed guards and we the people do not need protection. I guess we are not as important as the Obama’s and Biden’s and Holders and the list goes on and on. When Obama walks down the streets of Chicago without his armed bodyguards be ready to look skyward because you’ll see pigs flying too! Police show up after the killings and robberies happen to clean up the mess and make a report. As for me, I’ll keep my gun.

    • mallen11

      @Muleskinner
you are absolutely right. The problem is what applies to us does not apply to them.  Apparently, -0 thinks he is going to be killed and needs all the protection he can get.  What a coward. If he would do what is right for America he should not be afraid.
1 Cor 2:5…so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn….
Thank God for this Sherriff and the many more like him.

  • kid721952

This sheriff is THE ONLY ONE that is doing the correct thing by warnin g people that the government is coming, with obama leading from behind and his civilian military getting ready to fire on U.S. citizens, obama has also inserted a litmes question for military leaders:Will you fire on U.S. citizens? if not you will be removed and replaced with someone who will, you can look at it any way you like but obama wants to confiscate ALL GUNS so as to control ALL AMERICANS,no guns,no rights,no constitution,no wealth. What will stop thieves, rapists, murderers, gangs, drug dealers, third world countries(UN troops, russian, chinese) and since obama OUR OWN GOVERNMENT from raping your wives and daughters, stealing everything you own, even taking your life, gangs using your wives and daughters for prostitution, your sons for gang members or for use in terrorist attacks killing innocent people in the name of allah,”DO NOT GIVE UP YOUR GUNS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES,it has happened with hitler, stalin, mao, castro and chavez, obama wants to be dictator of the United States, are WE THE PEOPLE going to stand up and fight for our freedom or stick our heads in the sand and hope it will go away,IT WILL NOT GO AWAY UNLESS WE THE PEOPLE CONFRONT IT

  • Don39

May God bless and protect you from the tyranny of Obama and the the leftist thug machine!

  • OldBoatSailor

What does established law have to say about the “duty to protect”? The Supreme Court has ruled police do not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm. If Law Enforcement has no duty to protect a person from harm it would sound reasonable for a person to provide for his own protection.
What did the Founding Fathers have to say about providing for ourselves? From no less a personage than George Washington; “A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.”
Although not a Founder, Sir George Tucker, Judge of the Virginia Supreme Court and U.S. District Court of Virginia, had this to say, “The right of self-defense is the first law of nature; in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest possible limits…and [when] the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.”

  • violator1

Some of our elected officials across the Country are showing that they possess good ole fashioned common sense! That which is lacking in the US Senate and most definitely totally lacking in the Executive Branch (the presidency)! Other departments under the direction of this Criminal posing as your president also due to
his direction exhibit lack of any type of sense due to their higher ups having been appointed by and approved bye a neutered Congress legislative branch of wussies!

  • kid721952

I commend sheriff clark for being honest, most 911 calls are to late to help against intruders unless you live next door to the police station, they may ALL BE BUSY with other calls since there will be NO PROTECTION FOR ANYBODY,maybe 1 police officer per 1000 people in most towns and in cities probably less,to answer your 911 call, you would be dead and so would your family if you didn’t cooperate,at least you would have a fighting chance with a gun to at least hold the intruders off until maybe the officers could get there,to sit and watch as they raped my wife and my daughter over and over again, torchered my children and made me watch is way to horrable to think about,THEY WILL NOT GET MY GUN AND IF THEY DO IT WILL BE BECAUSE I AM DEAD

  • HowardPettyjohn

I just hate the confusion goin on.  Here I went to the trouble to set 911 up for speed dial in case someone came into my house with guns making threats.  Now I find that I can just blow their  danged heads off.  Feel gooder now.

  • mtborn

This “truth seeker” is probably a plant to entice you, if not he’s an idiot, either way do not respond to him it just gets him going. Most of us know the truth and why bother with a probable plant.

  • Bill Weston

I have never seen a law enforcement officer with a big red “S” on his chest, nor have i seen any wearing capes. Furthermore, I don’t think many of them would look very good wearing blue leotards. (some of the female officers might though)  About 97% of our population are law-abiding citizens with legal rights and obligations. As such, the police, and all first responders, can count on support. Enough said.

  • insaney

I agree with the sheriff. PD and Sheriff depts. all over the country are understaffed, just as is our military. Seems the only place Odummer is making spending cuts is in defense budgets. Remember. The cops show up AFTER a crime is committed, like when someone has already broken into your home and you are cowering in a closet calling 911 and hoping the thugs don’t hear you. The libs would have us all believe we are all safe and sound in our beds at night because our local law I forcemeat will protect us! They can’t protect us from something they don’t know is even happening.

  • snidely1

Good for Sheriff Clarke. Who knows better than he does just how capable law enforcement professionals are to protect the citizenry? He knows they can’t be everywhere; he knows their response times (and that is only when a victim or potential victim has the luxury of some time to make a call to the police when it is an instance of grave danger.. To suggest that people do their level best to be prepared to defend their families in times of crisis should be applauded, not mocked by these idiot liberals. A liberal is just someone who didn’t get mugged yet; when that happens they all find conservatism, don’t they?

  • lel2007

THANK YOU Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr.

  • MJ123

Hey, truth seeker… I wonder how much more peaceful it would have been in 1776 if folks were disarmed?  How fewer gun accidents.  Less guns being ripped off and used in crimes.  Less boys wearing triangle hats killing themselves.  I’m sure as hell glad THEY didn’t buy the line you’re selling.

And with your “costs us all” argument… that’s because of taxes.  If everyone kept what they earned and paid for what they used, like it was before the 16th amendment passed, the actions of a person would be born only by themselves.

But we “conservatives” too often buy into your agenda.  We call those who refuse to pay income taxes “cheats.”  I call them revolutionaries and truth seekers.  They cry about getting / not getting their social security.  Conservatives, if you let them stick in just the head, sooner or later, you’re going to take the whole shaft.

Mr. Truth Seeker… I edited this comment in order to remove the insulting reference.  To your credit, you at least are throwing out some actual information.  I would say that the information is incomplete, however, and this is my only beef with you.  Insulting one another accomplishes nothing and so, along with my retort, I offer you my apology for the insult.  If it’s the truth you truly seek, God bless you.  If, however, it is partial truth you’re using in order to promote a greater lie, well, that’s between you and “The Truth.”

  • antfreire

Some say “There is an inminent danger and you have to go buy a gun”   Others say  “There is an inminent danger and you have to give up your gun”   Who is right?

    • Batsin_Bellfry

      @antfreire
Think about it. Would you rather have it an not need it? Or, would you rather need it and not have it? A gun is like a parachute. If you need one and don’t have one, you will never need one again.

    • emick

      @antfreire
A SANE Human Being would say those who would give up their guns would be wrong!!!  The Second Ammendment has NOTHING to do with Hunter’s and has EVERYTHING to do with PREVENTING TYRANNY, which is what is presently going on in this country,…. even if there are an alarming number of its citizens who cannot see what is happening!!!

  • Don39

The so-called truth seeker is a liar and he has been twisting these same old leftist documents and reports for years, check Garfunkel on the web, he is either Garfunkel or he is plagiarizing him, he even contradicts here what he said less than three years ago and bastardizes it and embellishes it for the worse lie now than then. This has to do with his total leftist sellout to the Obama regime going into the last campaign year. I do not read his crap here because I recognize it for the same socialist/communist dribble that I have seen before. Please help shut this nut up by ignoring him. I do not see why this forum should allow the nut to republish all the crap he has written again here at our expense! This nut has used various other names to publish this and other garbage  on other sites until he was run off. he even had his own that was shut down. He is a jack of many trades,a want-a-be publisher/writer and failure that is now using you! Let your conscience be your guide, but know you feed his ego if you respond to him and he will mock you and not read or give a dang about what you say , because to him you are fore ordained an idiot to be here and prove it to respond to him. I think he gets his arrogance from Obama. Do not ask me how, but Obama is his savior and has revived him. Also he is as likely to read or consider anything you say just as much as is Obama!

  • Batsin_Bellfry

For conservatives, this is a “duh” moment. For liberals, this should be a “slap the forehead” moment. The average response time to a 911 call in the US is 23 minutes. When seconds count the police are minutes away. The SCOTUS stated in one opinion that police do not have any duty to protect citizens. Their gun is for their protection.

  • gcalhoun2015

He is RIGHT!!! That IS what I have posted years ago!!!

  • gcalhoun2015

We NEED a TEN MILLION MAN march on Washington DC with guns loaded as a show of FORCE that tell the message that WE WILL NOT ALLOW the COMMUNISTS to take away our Constitutional RIGHTS!!!

    • Spintz33

@gcalhoun2015 Yes we need this.  Someone get this organized.   Also we need to march in front of each one of the lawmakers offices as a sit in so to speak.

  • Sonja Jean

I am from Wisconsin. Kudos to the sherriff. Perhaps Libtard Mayor Barrett should have been one of the many people that were attacked at the State Fair Park area a couple years ago. Oh, and of course, the media definitely did not report a whole lot on that event. It was racial driven, and they knew it, but the media and the libtards did not want to go there.

  • emick

I think it IS IRESPONSIBLE for Jeri Bonavia to call down the sheriff for what he’s done and advocate supporting a President who is OPENLY violating his oath as well as the Constitution!!!

  • jkayakid

Yes sir you can count on me and I would stand beside you at the same time. Thank you for your message

  • rrrickkk

let’s see if I  have this right. We should call the police when someone is breaking down our doors and windows and not have a gun to defend ourselves but it is okay for them [politicians] to have armed guards to protect them. I’ll give up my guns when they give up theirs. @GordonFrampton @jkayakid

  • Arizona Dude

Nothing is said by the liberal about all the violence done by criminals. If you should happen to check with your police, you will find that an enormous amount of the gun deaths are done by gangs and gangsters. They do it to each other all of the time, which may be a good thing, as it makes the rest of us safer.
As to the comment the lib put up from about the Chicago Supt. Of Police that something has to be done about guns in that city, the average person may not own a gun there, so, the average person is not committing all the violence. It is being done by the hoods. It does not show much intelligence by the Supt. of Police.
As every dog and cat in the country knows, the cities with the most crime are places like Detroit, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., where one is not allowed to have a gun, even if the SCOTUS said that you may have one.
Places like the cities in California with all the crime should look to the illegal population, those who come here from a certain nearby country near my state, a country where respect for the law is not too high.
The FBI says that 29 to 32 percent of the criminals in prison are illegal aliens ( sorry, undocumented workers ), so, be sure to support amnesty, as your rep. or senator is probably doing. I know that my rep., Raul Grijalva, and my senators, are all for it.
The illegals all broke the law to get here and the politicians all break the laws to let them stay.

  • PatAlexander

Nothing wrong with a liberal democrats not wanting to protect themselves from violence, it is there choice! If you want to watch someone kill you , again that is your choice! Thank God that most of us don’t think like a liberal, otherwise none of us would be here but the bad!

  • Arizona Dude

I should have written–amount IS done–my bad. An unusual slip-up by me.

  • countyguard

Boy, talk about brain dead politicians… it truly is a sickness.  Do any of them have an common sense, or even any rational thought ability?  We need to establish all of our local areas as “Liberty Zones,” (libertyzone.org) and set up a “County Guard” (thecountyguard.org) for supporting each other and our constitutional sheriff. (http://constitutionalsheriffs.ning.com/?xg_source=msg_mes_network).  We then need to support @CSPOA.org (Sheriff Richard Mack) and @OathKeepers.org and their contacts into law enforcement and asking them to keep their oath of office.  There are some very simple steps we need to take to stop this madness, and it should include filing criminal suit against the traitors who are violating their oath of office, and committing treason against our constitution under Title 18 U.S.C., and also filing civil suits under title 42 U.S.C. against them for violating our constitutional rights. The solution is actually easy if we join together as is happening across our republic.  Get moving and pass this on…

  • CharlieSeattle

I like Sherriff’s that have the balls to speak their mind.

       Absolutely.

  • scot_belle

When I would ever be faced with a violent intruder, I am not dealing with a TIVO moment, because I do NOT have the option to put that intruder on “pause” to wait the 20-30 minutes for my County Sheriff’s office to respond to my call.

THANK YOU Sheriff Clarke, for your stand on encouraging your constituents to become trained and therefore properly familiar with an immediate measure of self-protection.  THIS IS AN APPROPRIATE STANCE.

I WILL KEEP MY GUNS, my unimpeachable dogs, and with these I will keep my freedom.

    For the Truth Seeker:

    700,000 doctors in the U.S.
Accidental deaths caused by Physicians, 120,000 per year
Source for this fact: Dept. of Health & Human Services

Number of gun owners in the U.S. – 80,000,000
The number of accidental gun deaths per year – 1,500
    Source for this fact: FBI

So, statistically, doctors are 9,000 TIMES MORE DAMGEROUS THAN GUN OWNERS ! ! !

Well, you done good!  Facts are what we need to make the proper distinction in matters like this.  So much stuff and fluff floating around, not to mention crazy ideas like citizens giving up their legally acquired guns and concealed weapons permit.  This is a pivotal point in our country and it cannot be a good thing to lose the ability to own a fire arm.

        • emick

          @Florida Girl
I don’t own a gun at the present time but have been looking into making my first purchase!  I expect that I’ll have one in a couple of weeks – – – The waiting period to obtain a firearm in the state where I live!

        • http://yahoo.com/ Florida Girl

          @emick
Congratulaltions on your first purchase –  Sounds like a good idea to me under the conditions in which we are presently living.

  • kid721952

seymor, have you ever heard that saying “you give them an inch they will take a mile” once they get their foot in the door, they will go after ALL OUR GUNS,and diann feinstein is one that wants guns confiscated, cuomo from new york wants all the guns, emanual from chicago wants all guns confiscated, your president wants all guns confiscated to give him complete control of the people, you need to look at the bill passed in 1961 “Freedom From War-General and complete Disarmament” in which obama will use UN troops to confiscate guns while he is in hawaii vacationing and watch the video on youtube when the military and lawenforcement confiscated guns during the katrina tragedy leaving people “Helpless” to thieves, rapists, murderers, gangs, drug dealers, third world countries and our own military and law enforcement,I was under the impression they were in place to PROTECT US not disarm us

    • Seymour Kleerly

@kid721952 I completely reject your premise that these people want to take away all guns and especially those for home protection. It would  illogical, unconstitutional, dangerous for families, and most of all impossible. You’re being radicalized like America has never seen before. Lay off the Right Wing Hate Machine if only for your kid’s future.

      • Noreasterner

@Seymour Kleerly @kid721952 Impossible? They did that during Katrina. They are doing it in NY.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Noreasterner  @Seymour  @kid721952 They’re taking guns away from homes in NY.?  Wasn’t there a dangerous epic disaster in New Orleans?  You’re way paranoid.

        • kid721952

          @Seymour Kleerly  @Noreasterner
I’m not paranoid,I’m right, people were trying to protect what was left that the disaster didn’t take, thieves were stealing everything knowing the chaos thieves, rapists and gang members took advantage of this storm and pryed on unarmed people and what was left of their personal belongings thanks to law enforcement and the military disarming them and left them helpless, even women in the dome were raped and malisted with law enforcement there,if they had their personal protection with them it would not have happened

      • kid721952

        @Seymour Kleerly
My kids have no future thanks to your president obama

        • Seymour Kleerly

@kid721952 Did Bush have any affect on them? Just being “fair and balanced”.

      • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly  Once again the moron comments without researching the content.  Feinstien, Cuomo and many other Dems have called for bans of ALL guns.  You really need to pull your head out or clean off that glass belly button.  Go back to the Huffington Post were you belong.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer If that’s true, then I’m dead wrong. Please show me anything that can prove this. I’ll be shocked.

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly C’mon, you have to be kidding.  You haven’t read or watched the piles of interviews of Fienstien ?  She has stated numerous times if she could disarm all Americans, she would.  There are several other on the left that have mirrored her statements, just google it.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer No I never heard any Dem. say they wanted to confiscate all guns. Could her comment be in the context of “in her perfect world there would be no guns” or something like that? I hope you’re not trying to deceive me again so quickly.

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly Don’t take my word, just research it for yourself.  Google will help you.  She wants ALL guns banned, except of course her own.  She has a concealed weapon permit but doesn’t want anyone else except for law enforcement to have them.  Thankfully, law enforcement doesn’t agree with her.  I know, I live in her state and district and hear about her crap all the time, she’s a huge hypocrite as many politicians are, they want your guns but want to preserve their right to armed security and concealed weapon permits for themselves.  The 2nd is our God given right and not up for discussion or perversion by politicians on either side.  Without the 2nd, the rest of the amendments are meaningless.

        • Truth goes 100 mph

@Seymour Kleerly  @Obummer Actually, it’s electroshock therapy you need.  It has been known to cure liberalitis and obamaitis.  Both diseases result in early dementia and vomiting from the mouth.  As far as being DEAD WRONG;  that is your choice.  Don’t possess a firearm and throw your comments at the “bad guys”   I am certain that will scare them away.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer Even if true that she wants ALL guns banned, does that prove that the Government is proposing anything close to confiscating ALL guns?  It’s the ultimate stretch and  ridiculous to believe any law like you fear could be proposed.

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly You probably also thought It was a stretch for universal health care and gay marriage as well, right ?  People like you are dangerous to a free society that rightfully sees the wisdom in what our founders created as a Constitution.  You just keep chipping away at it, soon enough, we’ll all be in that same decrepit boat as you.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer Gay marriaige resulted from a shift in public acceptance of Gays (not mine). Health care costs were crushing families and the public wanted action. Same with gun violence. We have to improve things that are hurting our Country.

        • RichardWest

          @Seymour Kleerly  @Obummer OUR COUNTRY?

        • Seymour Kleerly

@RichardWest You must have been abused as a child to threaten those with different views.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Don39  @Obummer Yes, unlike the CRETIN Right, we Liberals include all Americans in “Our Country”. You’re lucky we’re more understanding of our embarassing stupid Right Wing Brothers. You’re not un-American, or hate America,  just really gullible.

        • RichardWest

@Seymour Kleerly You threaten everyone else with your stupidity. Take your “values” to a country willing to embrace communism.  By all the flak you are taking, you should realize your opinions are not those of the people of this country.  You are the one who must’ve been abused as a child (and probably for a good reason).

      • RichardWest

        @Seymour Kleerly Idiot!!

  • emick

I find it truly amazing how many Liberals will say the Government doesn’t want to take your guns (for home defense) when you’ve got Senator Feinstein ADVOCATING and PROCLAIMING that they want to take your guns, ALL of your guns.  Why do you need more than a 10-round clip?  Who are THEY (the Communist’s presently running the show) to tell us what “We The People” need???  When people (the Citizenry of this Country) are afraid of the government, there is Tyranny!

  • emick

The last time the / a government tried to take Guns away from its American Colonies (its Citizens), there was a Revolution!!!  Do you think it will be any different this time???  The Citizens of this GREAT Country are armed FAR MORE HEAVILLY than our Founding Fathers were!!!  It didn’t go well for the Government then and it SURELY won’t go well for them now!!!

It is interesting that Thomas Jefferson is the hero of the neo-con right. The Framers views are always relevant, but again, as Peter Finlay Dunne said over one hundred years ago, through his character, Mr. Dooley,” the Supreme Court follows the elections.” Of course, times have changed and they will continue to change. I have read all of the remarks and I have yet to see any that refute directly my sources and their perspectives. As for future Supreme Courts, who knows? But, what I have learned over a long lifetime is that it is almost impossible to fight the flow of history. Everything that Jefferson and Founding Fathers saw, understood or could have predicted has changed, and changed dramatically. Every limitation, every Jim Crow Law, every social moray, has changed and rights have been expanded since the progressive Era and the New Deal. Therefore, being a rejectionist or a denier of science and reality will not reverse what has happened over the last century. Take my word, we are not going back.

I have no intention of lambasting all gun ownership, and I believe sincerely that everyone has the right to keep a gun safely at home. If the gun is not kept safely at home and a robbery or felony happens, as a result of that irresponsibility, I hope that the law would prosecute the owner in the same way, a bartender is responsible for serving an inebriated individual, or a car inspection station and repair shop is held accountable for shoddy work or no work at all, which results in an accident. I would suggest “smart triggers,” background checks, and a 15 day waiting period for gun purchase. Ronald Reagan signed that “waiting period” requirement when he was governor of California.

As to some positions here, I single out Don 39, who by far, is one of the biggest dunces that I have had the misfortune to read. There are other holy-rollers, Bible-thumpers and schizophrenics that constantly beg the issue of logic or sensible discussion, but, by in large, I have ignored them.

As to the examples of auto deaths, there were 32,387 in 2011 and the rate of fatalities per million miles, have dropped from 24.09 in 1921 to 1.1 in 2011. As to airline deaths, it is 8 times safer, regarding miles flown compared to driving. There were 117 deaths in 2011. Flying and driving are by choice, they are considered every day necessities by a very high percentage of the public. They are not considered defensive weapons or a weapon designed to kill. Therefore, any comparisons are specious and silly. The death rate by guns has stayed at 10.3 per 100,000 for 13 years. Drivers and pilots are licensed, and they drive or fly almost daily. In other words, they get better day after day. Without drivers and even pilots are country would ground to a halt in a nanosecond. If one limited intoxication and reckless driving late at night, the accident rate would drop dramatically. Those actions are self-inflicting, but an ongoing price our society must continue to pay. I would treat impaired driving in the most severe way, and support strong state laws against violators. The reckless use of a gun, regarding its storage, the accessibility of ammunition and its use in a felony should be dealt with severity. To give guns to teachers or school administrators is reckless and idiotic. They are not trained, could never be adequately trained and it will never happen.

As to guns, their use is dangerous and their need is statistically specious and constantly overrated and inflated. Whether it is Wayne La Pierre and the NRA or the Gun Owners of America or Alex Jones, the hysteria manifested by them is sponsored by the Gun Industry and fanned by the “tyranny nutcases.” Whatever you say, the need for one to have a gun to save America from itself is ludicrous. The chance of being killed by one’s own gun is at least 27 times being killed on the street or from a home invasion. In many areas of the country that figure would be scores of times higher. NYC had 414 murders out of 8 million residents and scores of millions of visitors.

In fact, gun deaths are much, much lower in areas which have strict carry laws and bans on semi-automatic killing machines. There are several factors that are associated with firearm deaths at the state level. On the economic front, gun violence was higher in states with lower average incomes. Similarly, gun violence was less likely in states with more college graduates and stronger knowledge-based economies. Gun violence was also higher in states that tend to vote Republican. The national average for gun deaths per 100,000 people is 10. Deep red Alaska is at the top of this national average (20.9 per 100,000), and deep blue Hawaii is at the bottom (3.1 per 100,000).

    • the Truth Seeker

The following is an editorial from the Charleston (NC) Gazette:

Conservative “red states” that vote Republican have more guns and considerably more gun murders, suicides and accidental shootings, sociology researchers say.
Alaska and Deep South states suffer nearly 20 deaths per 100,000 people yearly. West Virginia ranks below them at 14 deaths, while the national average is around 10. But New York and New Jersey have just 5, and friendly Hawaii has a mere 2.6.
“The simple fact is, if you live in a red state, the odds of your children dying of gun violence is 75 percent higher than if you live in a blue state,” Princeton neuroscientist Samuel Wang wrote. “It may help explain why people in red states want guns so much: It’s dangerous to live in a red state. They’ve got all those guns.”
University of Toronto sociologist Richard Florida — founder of the theory that “creative class” people spur prosperity — studied gun deaths and wrote in The Atlantic:
“We can distinguish blue from red states. Taking the voting patterns from the 2008 presidential election, we found a striking pattern: Firearm-related deaths were positively associated with states that voted for McCain, and negatively associated with states that voted for Obama. Although his association is likely to infuriate many people, the statistics are unmistakable. …
“Firearm deaths were far less likely to occur in states with higher levels of college graduates and more ‘creative class’ jobs. Gun deaths were also less likely in states with higher levels of economic development and higher levels of happiness and wellbeing.”
In other words, less-educated, lower-income, Republican-minded, less-urban states have more gun killings — and West Virginia sadly ranks among them.
America’s 2010 General Social Survey found that 50 percent of adult Republicans own guns, but only 22 percent of adult Democrats. That’s a stunning gap.
Worse, America has vastly more guns than other advanced societies, and vastly more gun deaths. The San Jose Mercury News wrote: “Today, we have 5 percent of the world’s population and 50 percent of its guns. That is insane.”
Charleston business writer Ken Silverstein, son of former Kanawha County Commissioner Robert Silverstein, wrote in the latest Forbes magazine that the famed “Sullivan Principles” created by another Charleston native can help reduce America’s gun danger.
The late Rev. Leon Sullivan — for whom a Charleston street is named — established a voluntary rule by which corporations, pension funds and other mass investors withdrew their money from firms that did business with racist South Africa. Silverstein urges large entities likewise to divest their holdings in gun companies.
We can’t guess how the current Washington showdown over mass-murder weapons will turn out. We aren’t sure whether more gun control laws would make Americans safe from the 300 million weapons at large in this society. Many reports say the worst danger isn’t from law-abiding owners, but from armed thugs and psychotics.
As we’ve said before, the best cure for America’s terrible gun death rate may be metal scanners that would enable police to spot pistols hidden among people on streets and in arenas. Packers without permits could be swiftly disarmed and jailed.

      • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker Notice this is an editorial, not a study.  The progressive liberal press omitted some important facts from their so-called “research”.  They did not extract “justifiable homicide” from illegal gun activity from criminals.  When you include that component, the statistics are just the opposite of what this disingenuous editorial is attempting to push as a argument for irresponsible Republican gun owners versus Democratic gun owners.  The other falsity is that Democrats are more educated than Republicans.  When you consider the black and hispanic communities are mostly Democratic, you can safely summarize that this is far from the truth.  Good luck with selling that lemon !

        • Don39

@Obummer  @the Truth Seeker Democrats under the age of 26 are more educated than republicans, but not independent conservatives. When these young democrats need to get serious about life, the more educated they are the more likely to become republicans or conservative independents. It is called growing up. Those that do not change suffer permanent adolescence , a symptom of a mental disease called liberal psychopathology, which is a kin to schizophrenia or in some cases as witnessed on the national stage these days extreme narcissism.

        • Obummer

@Don39  Seems as though with that information, one could successfully argue that Republicans under 27 are smarter than Democrats in that same age group.  Please remember, that “education” has little to no relevance to intelligence.  Also considering the indoctrination of the left while they are in college, you could safely assume their left leaning is a cause of the influence by people that have little to no knowledge of the real world. The under 27 age group of Republicans seem to have found the conservative party of the two, we could safely state that they are the more “intelligent” group of the two.

The fool above would have you believe that the Charleston Gazette is a paper in a red state. ANOTHER PROVABLE LIE!. There is a Charleston NC, it is unincorporated and has no paper. In fact it does not even show up on a google map. So look for Charleston SC. Yeah big city, probably the only liberal city in SC a Red state, but hey no such paper. If indeed the editorial ever did appear anywhere it had to have been in a paper in WEST VA, a BLUE state forever, a wellfare state, an Obama voter state. This idiot’s lies and misinformation never stop! The Charleston Gazette , a liberal Obama propaganda rag that takes it lead from, you guessed it, the NYT!

@the Truth Seeker Who are you to call anyone a Dunce?  You’re a Libtard.  That says it all.

      • DanStPeter

        @the Truth Seeker

I notice those “studies” never include assaults, murders, or other crimes deterred by law abiding gun owners…Why is that Truth?

        • the Truth Seeker

@DanStPeter Since, at last count, there were about 165 justifiable homicides in the US in one calendar year and 32,000 deaths by gun, the ratios are quite small. There are some statistics and estimates of how many break-ins were thwarted by guns, but, that begs the issue. No one proposes eliminating home ownership of a gun. I am against carry laws and in NY we have the Sullivan Law and it works.

The argument that guns don’t kill people, people kill people, has been made at various times, and for me it is sophomoric. No one can prevent all killings, but as a responsible society we should try to eliminate the large catastrophic tragedies. Professor Charles Perrow, of Yale, talks about that in his book The Next Catastrophe. He writes that we cannot, as a society, protect everyone, but we should look to avoid the large and devastating “hit.”  Trigger locks work, registering purchases of guns and waiting-periods limits “nuts” and criminals from acquiring guns, and technology should prevent a stolen gun from being able to be fired. The NRA has resisted all of this. as stated by Richard Feldman, the author of Ricochet, the Confessions of a Gun Lobbyist. You should read his view of Wayne LaPierre and the other brigands who run the NRA.. If you think that the NRA is interested in protecting Constitutional rights over the welfare of the gun and arms industry, I will sell you the Brooklyn Bridge. The NRA is a business, and the business of the NRA is to protect gun sellers.

Unfortunately the 2nd Amendment issue has become at times the critical argument for certain groups in this country. I personally have nothing against hunters and sports enthusiasts owning legitimate hunting rifles and hand guns. But to call hunting a sport, when automatic rifles are used to kill animals is a perversion of the word. It is not sport. Sport should allow the animal to have a chance! But do I care that animals are killed for sport when they are used for food? No! I am a meat eater and have been all my life and I am not a hypocrite. But slaughtering animals for a blood lust sport sort of sickens me. Personally I would like to see hunters reduce the growing amount of deer plaguing Westchester and the meat should be eaten and donated to the food pantries.

We have always have had restrictions on “gun carry” laws and I believed they have to be tightened and the penalty for their abuse should be made more severe. Even Dodge City and Tombstone had arms checked outside the city limits.  The Founding Fathers understood that transcendental right of gun ownership. In my opinion, if they could have possibly envisioned the threat of that type of weaponry, they would have made the 2nd Amendment much more restrictive. That is why we have the Supreme Court. As time moves forward, Justices and Courts change.

        • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker  You just don’t get it do you ?  Gun laws do not work as criminals do not follow the law.  So I guess you don’t really see the danger in some of your proposals and thoughts about the restrictions on guns.  The reason why the justifiable homicide rate is so low regarding gun deaths, is that good guys had guns that stopped the bad guys.  And yes, those guns did not have trigger locks on the them or bullet buttons or whatever stupid name progressive gun grabbing morons want to attach to attach to them.  Did you look at the number of deaths by the so-called “assault weapons” ?? (even though we have no such thing unless that rifle jumps up and wacks someone by itself).  Did Adam Lanza think to himself, “…wait, this is again free zone, I better not go in here and shoot these kids and teachers…”  Wake up !!!  Additionally, the 2nd has nothing at all to do with hunting or sport of any kind.  You really need to read the amendment before commenting on it.

        • Noreasterner

@the Truth Seeker @DanStPeter I would like to suggest, that your lengthy comments would carry more weight if they were more focused. Also, as it appears you have more free time than many of us on the forums, you should do more fact checking prior to posting. We all make errors but many of your errors diminish the overall quality of the message you are having trouble conveying which leads you trying to explain your opinion in numerous ways.

        • the Truth Seeker

@Obummer By the way, your name fits- so I gather that you believe because criminals do not care about laws, they have no meaning? Personally I have no clue what you are talking about. But, be that as it may, you now say that the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with the gun rights of hunters or sport? But, if you do assume that, the 2nd Amendment was crafted a s a compromise to the anti-Federalists.

Modern scholars Thomas B. McAffee and Michael J. Quinlan have stated that James Madison “did not invent the right to keep and bear arms when he drafted the Second Amendment; the right was pre-existing at both common law and in the early state constitutions.” In contrast, historian Jack Rakove suggests that Madison’s intention in framing the Second Amendment was to provide assurances to moderate Anti-Federalists that the militias would not be disarmed. That’s the gist of the compromise.

Therefore, one aspect of the gun control debate is the conflict between gun control laws and the right to rebel against unjust governments. Some believe that the framers of the Bill of Rights sought to balance not just political power, but also military power, between the people, the states and the nation, as Alexander Hamilton explained in 1788.

Times have changed and you and your fellow gun lovers are in the backwash of history, though you are unaware of that reality.

        • the Truth Seeker

@Noreasterner  @the  @DanStPeter  Sorry, you’ll have to highlight the errors, not just off-handed assertions.

As to the ongoing problems of guns:

Using a gun in self-defense is no more likely to reduce the chance of being injured during a crime than various other forms of protective action.  Of the 13,636 Americans who were murdered in 2009, only 215 were killed by firearms (165 by handguns) in homicides by private citizens that law enforcement determined were justifiable. A study reviewing surveys of gun use in the U.S. determined that most self-reported self-defense gun uses may well be illegal and against the interests of society. In other words the chances of one being killed by their own gun, in their own home are at least 27 to 1.

Living in a home where there are guns increases the risk of homicide by 40 to 170% and the risk of suicide by 90 to 460%. Guns kept in the home are more likely to be involved in a fatal or nonfatal unintentional shooting, criminal assault or suicide attempt than to be used to injure or kill in self-defense.

The U.S. has the highest rate of firearm deaths among 25 high-income nations. Another study concluded that among 36 high-income and upper-middle-income countries, the U.S. has the highest overall gun mortality rate. The overall firearm-related death rate among U.S. children under the age of 15 is nearly 12 times higher than that among children in 25 other industrialized nations combined.

If you have a problem with any of those figures please cite reliable stats. My sense is that none of you are able to recognize the problem we face.

The problem is 32,000 killings, and 10’s of thousands of wounded. Many of these have little to do with violent crime per say. Many of the 9000+ murders are amongst people who are known to each other. The drying up of street ammo and high powered guns would certainly reduce street violence and afford the police to be more secure. There is ample evidence of this from Australia, Britain, Japan and Germany.

        • DonBahn1

@the Truth Seeker  @DanStPeter So you would rather hunters use a Knife, or at best a spear?

        • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker Correct, my avatar name fits the guy you and your progressive ilk voted in office, twice !!  I know this is hard for you to believe but criminals do not care about the law.  It’s not that the law has no meaning, it just has little to no effect on preventing certain crimes and only curtails the actions of law abiding citizens.  None of the shooters in any of the shooting tragedies in the last 15 years fits the description of law abiding, nor would any of the laws you seek to enact.  The law only gives the country the ability to punish those that would not adhere to it.  Does this reality really escape you ?  I guess I can see why it would be difficult for you to understand what I speak of considering you are wrapped up in your mental masturbation.  You may think you sound smart, but I can assure you, your lack of pure common sense makes you look foolish.

The 2nd was not written for hunters or target shooters but it protects them as well.  Have you read the amendment ?  The 2nd is also not just for the ability to protect oneself and family from a tyrannical government, it also serves to protect from criminals as well.  If that puts me in the backwash of history, then I’ll stay right there and enjoy my ability to protect the ones I love.  You on the other hand, can rely on 911 or the belief that your politicians will protect you and do the right thing. Good luck with that.

You are correct, times have changed, they always do.  With that nonsensical comment, should we also change other portions of the Constitution, maybe get rid of the 1st, the 4th or 22nd, your pick.  The application of common sense is not exclusive to those of us on the right, your welcome to use it as well.

        • the Truth Seeker

          @Obummer
The 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution states: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

So we are not a free state? We don’t have police, the FBI, the National Guard?  You must be afraid of a democratically elected government. Are you an anarchist? I see the statement as a reflection of 18th Century needs which refer to a militia and trained men to man those militias to protect the state. It never talks of you having a high-powered killing weapon to protect your home or hearth. People disagree.

        • DonBahn1

@the Truth Seeker  @Obummer The 2nd amendment means the people have the right to have the same fire power as the armies in the world. One of the first infringements on that right was making the ownership of fully automatic weapons require a $600 license for each one renewed yearly, extremely expensive to own. If I could afford one I would have a Blackhawk Gun Ship, an anti missile battery, and several anti aircraft weapons.

        • Henry Leunissen

@the Truth Seeker  @Obummer   So you admit not knowing what Obummer is talking about.  I think you don’t even know what YOU are talking about.  Res ipsa loquitur.

@the Truth Seeker The current POTUS was not democratically elected.  Had he not paid people off, had illegals, dogs, dead people, and ficticious creatures voting for him, he would not have won.  Either you won’t admit to that, because you’re a Lib butt kisser, or else you are too damn stupid to see what is going on.  I personally want the most high powered shit I can get, for my house.  Then, I don’t need to worry about Libs overstepping their grounds, and violating my rights.  Obviously you love being violated.  You Libs are big on the gay thing.

        • RichardWest

@the Truth Seeker The US ceased being a country of “democratically elected government”, when Obummer  started using illegals, dead people, dogs, and the Tooth Fairy, to vote for him.  An illegal election win, is nothing more than a violent overthrow, without the bloodshed.   So, making reference to someone as an anarchist, under the current fraudulent circumstances, is in fact an incorrect assertion.  You don’t become an anarchist when you resist a government which took over purely by fraud.  We currently have an illegal government.  You can argue semantics all day long, but it will never change facts or reality.

    • emick

      @the Truth Seeker
And HOW MANY of these deaths were a result of criminals with firearms (illegal) and how many are as a result of law abiding citizens???  Or does that not matter in your fabricated table of statistics???

      • the Truth Seeker

@emick  I answered  that moronic comparison and you can read it and try to understand. The problems are that with guns killing is very easy, and the need for defense is rarely, if ever, used. The sane part of the country is concerned with all types of individuals who use heavy weaponry for mass killings. Arming more citizens would make more accidental killings rife, more arguments and disputes deadly and encourage a Dodge City mentality. I say get guns off the streets, plain and simply. I have made my points to demonstrate another perspective and not argue arcane, baseless arguments, which hold no currency. I have no intention of convincing you or your friends. My only purpose is to pose the counter argument. Answering idiotic canards and specious insults and claims is worthless, get it!

        • DAY8293A

@the Truth Seeker  @emick Guns are used for self defense a lot more than you know, because the media covers it up.  There was another shooting at a movie theater that you did not hear about, because there was an officer on duty that shot the armed nut case before he could get off a shot.  That is why we need armed citizens and police  to stop the killings, and protect the idiots like you out there.  Also, there was a woman in Georgia that just saved her own life and that of here daughter because she was armed. The criminal saw her daughter and kept hunting them down in the house until he found them hiding and she had to shoot him. You never hear of these cases that happen every day all across the country because it would go against your liberal agenda of disarming the country so the Socialist can take over like they did in Russia and kill off all those that disagree with them… I hope you are one of the first to go when it happens….

@the Truth Seeker You seriously have your facts wrong.  There have been many times where a gun, on my person, in public, has saved me from an attack by losers (most certainly Dumbocrats).  It wasn’t until I was caught without my trusty .45, that a group of 6 (once again, most likely Dumbocrats), attacked me, and put me in the hospital.  Had I not been carrying my .45 during those other times, I would have spent much more time in a hospital, or maybe even a morgue.  You Leftys should spend more time in the real world.  Besides, as easy as it is to make other weapons, including bombs, just wait to see how ugly it gets when the nutjob Libs ban all guns.

@the Truth Seeker  @emick So, more citizens with guns would make more accidental killings rife, more arguments and disputes deadly and encourage a Dodge City mentality, is that correct?  Show me where there are more guns and a Dodge City mentality, in other words wild west style shootings, where have there been anything like this anywhere in this country?  Unless you want to mention the mass shootings that incidentally have occured mostly in GUN FREE ZONES where guns are prohibeted.  Like the Aurora shooter who could have gone to any number of movie theaters close to where he lived to do his dirty work but all those allowed conceal carry permit holders in to see the show but he chose, instead, the only theater further away that advertised, NO GUNS ALLOWED or Conceal Carry Permit not allowed.  He didn’t want to run into anybody with a gun watching the show now did he???  What is really killing people and our children is the GUN FREE ZONE and they need to be abolished soon if we want to avoid any more mass killings.

        • dangerousman

@the Truth Seeker  @emick I forgot to mention that most if not all the deranged killers in these mass shootings were democrats as stated in a few papers and by Freedom Outpost and WND.

        • the Truth Seeker

@dangerousman  @emick  Well since on these sites, one basically hears threats all the time, and one could easily imagine, that the gun worshipers here are a lot more dangerous than the pacifist left, your argument seems hollow. By the way, “dangerwuss” wow, I am worried, you forgot this prime example which brings a lie to your latest drivel.

Alabama teenager, Derek Shrout, 17, was arrested and charged on Monday with plotting to set off dozens of homemade bombs. In interviews with authorities, he described himself as a “white supremacist.”  In his home they found rifles and shotguns he planned to use in an attack on teachers and African-American students. Only in Alabama would bail be set at $75,000.

So, it looks like we are facing more of the same from other copy-cat racists and maniacs who believe in the same hatred of their KKK fore bearers. But, of course, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” But, without large clip semi-assault weapons” these sociopaths would be less dangerous.

        • the Truth Seeker

@DAY8293A  @emick That is mostly repeated urban mythology. No one is advancing us towards the former Soviet Union. Any time bit of reading will inform you that both the 1905 and 1917 Revolutions were enabled by men with guns from the Russo-Japanese and WWI conflicts. Guns make revolutions easier, and the Romanovs, who were tyrants for 400 years, were removed. As a result of guns, the Soviets over threw the moderate Kerensky government. There is no correlation between your statement and the truth. All dictatorships of the right and the left limit guns. So? Your inaccurate surmise is that we are not a free people with a democratic government.

The fascinating fear, animus and vitriol, which is constantly spewed by “gun” advocates seems to be a reflection of paranoia or a physical inadequacy. Is the gun now their phallic replacement? Are they insecure about their “macho man” image? Do they have normal relationships involving intimacy or is this “love affair” with their “piece” a Freudian replacement of an unfulfilled life of little or no intimacy?

The fact that these “men” complain and squeal when their “weapon” is challenged seems to me to reflect a much more serious problem, reflecting self-doubt and performance failure. The chance of being killed by one’s own gun is incredibly higher than the chance of being a victim. All the statistics reflect that reality. These are not “dream sequence” illusions created in the minds of effete egg heads, who hate guns and John Wayne. No, these are raw stats from the FBI and the ATF.  But, most of our gun lovers do not trust government or their institutions. They only trust their “piece.”

Are you folks really fearful of a tyrannical government? Will your “heroes” be called to defend Americans from an invasion of Sandinistas, or Hugo Chavez infiltrators? Maybe these folks have partially ODed on Rambo films? How about “Red Dawn,” with Patrick Swayze? He seems to be the hero for women in “Dirty Dancing” and on the masculine side for the Militiamen and the Survivalists among us. Is it the video games, the xenophobic fear of a non-Eurocentric population, or just a psychological dependency on a phallic substitute? I found over a lifetime of activities which included sports, politics and business that the people with the greatest inadequacies and anxieties bolster themselves with a “piece.”

But, of course I could be wrong and this Freudian allusion could be misplaced and not terribly accurate. It could be that these folks are just crazy, members of hate groups, fearful little people and card-carrying members of the lunatic fringe. As to having someone pull a knife on me, it has happened, as to seeing people with drawn guns, I have witnessed it. Frankly, the occasion is incredibly rare and resistance and panic usually result in disaster. The ability of even policeman to shoot straight is questionable. The average citizen, who even has training, is not prepared for an incident, and without constant practice and preparation, would not be up for a proper reaction, no less defense.

No government, in the near term is going to confiscate all guns. Should the government limit ammunition, ban clips with excessive rounds, ban assault semi-automatic weapons, and make background checks on all guns much more severe? I say yes!

        • DonBahn1

@the Truth Seeker  @RichardWest Truth is no one can convince a liberal / progressive that gun ownership saves lives. These people have been indoctrinated in the public schools, and the MSM, and liberal / progressive college professors.
Liberal / Progressives believe a woman has the right to kill her un-wanted baby right up to the point the head comes out, but feel a really late term abortion like killing a 21 year old gun carrying criminal is wrong.
Liberal / Progressives believe it is better for a person to die at the hands of multiple perpetrators in their home waiting on the police than defending themselves with an AR15.

Why don’t we take cars away from ALL citizens???  For Drunk Drivers kill way more people than guns!!!  We want to immediately blame people who have guns when terrible atroscities like Sandy Hook happen BUT we never hear about taking cars away from drunk drivers when they kill???  And where does abortion fit into your twisted way of thinking???  How many babies are slaughtered year in and year out???  Liberals use abortion as a contraceptive and there are NUMEROUS ways to prevent pregnaqncy!!!  You are no doubt in Webster’s Pictorial Dictionary,…. right next to the word TOOL!!!

      • the Truth Seeker

@emick  I answered that idiotic car assertion in a long piece! Your thoughts are cars and guns is as relevant as swimming and watering a plant.

        • the Truth Seeker

@emick  By the way we go after drunk driver and incarcerate them. The rate of driving deaths is 1/24 of what it was in 1921 and has been dropping steadily for decades. Gun deaths and injuries have risen steadily as crime has dropped all over the country, even in some of the Red Neck dominated places. Yes, some of the red Necks live in the NE and in the suburbs, but they are smarter Red Necks. They have been mostly civilized by the hated liberal decency and thoughtfulness.

        • the Truth Seeker

@WilliamVincent  @emick There were 141 murders in Dallas with a population of 1.2 million and 414 in NYC with a population of 8+million, you do the ratios Einstein!

        • dangerousman

@the Truth Seeker  @emick We go after drunk drivers and incarcerate them, eh??  How is it that so many times on the news we hear about a drunk driver who has killed people by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and it’s their 4th, 5th, 10th or 15th time they’ve been cited for drunk driving???  If we’re incarcerating them, we aren’t putting them away long enough or not putting away at all because the liberals give them a way out by plea bargaining.  So that blows away your argument about drunk drivers.

AND to throw abortion murders into the mix, makes your version of things, that MUCH MORE ABSURD!!!  AND the babies murdered in the womb in America EVERY year, are NONE as the result of a LAW ABIDING CITIZEN having a gun?!?!?!?  How do you get to your way of thinking???

    • jojac

      @the Truth Seeker
You obviously need to seek a lot harder.
I didn’t  read all that crap, but  glancing thru it  I saw a number of errors.
You stated that pilots fly almost every day and thus they are constantly getting better,
implying I guess that gun owners don’t do much shooting and thus don’t  get better.
Being a pilot, an aircraft mechanic and an aircraft Inspector who inspects a number of
aircraft each year, I see how many hours many general aviation aircraft fly and for many
of them it is less than 20 or so hours a year. That is hardly almost every day. Also,
most general aviation accidents are caused by pilot error.

      • the Truth Seeker

@jojac Well you answered my own point, quite effectively. The stats I cited were for commercial pilots, and the rate of accidents for Civil Aviation are dramatically higher. With regards to guns, few people go to the range, especially in the suburbs and the cities. There are hundreds of thousands of gun owners in the NE and they have a legal right to own a gun, if they qualify with regards to state laws. The amount of gun ranges in this region could never service 100th of that population if they attempted even weekly practice. But, of course we can agree to disagree. Maybe in your neck of the woods armed break-ins are common and assaults are constantly thwarted. In this area of the civilized world we have all sorts of races, religions and political proclivities, but people generally get along. Yes, we have crime and always will. But the break-ins are statistically tiny, rarely do perpetrators have guns, and confrontation with an armed victim is almost nil. Even Dodge City and other wild west towns when they wanted to limit gun violence had strict carry laws.  By the way, most killings are in the home, specifically in the kitchen and amongst people who know each other. As to the other high percentage of killings, it is often because of drug deals gone sour or just more greed. These folks steal guns, get them on the black market and all of society would be better served if they had no ammo. As to specious and unwarranted fears about resistance against a tyrannical government, that is about as ludicrous as anything one could imagine.

        • RichardWest

@the Truth Seeker You need to have your head contents removed.  Your head would be better off empty, than full of the disinformation it contains.  Go to Obummer, and use his health plan.  The one that has you put to sleep, because you cost the system too much money.

  • dingbat361

This is no nonsense good advice…………….most honest law enforcement officers will tell you that when you are in immediate danger, they probably will not be able to respond in time to help you.
And by the way, law enforcement officers do not carry guns to protect YOU…………they carry them to protect themselves and you should too!

  • DAY8293A

I just wish all these stupid idiots out there that don’t like his advice, would put up a sign in their front yard that says, “gun free zone on this property, we have no home self defense, help your self “…. after all, that is what they want the rest of us to do…..  let’s see how it works for them first…..  Just for one year… all of them do this and if they still like the results after that,,, then talk to me about the rest of us doing it,,,,

    • Aingeal

Excellent idea!  And the first to put up these “signs” and follow their own opinions should be the local elected officials and anti-self-protection gurus who are most likely  “armed” as in “permits to carry.”  Sheriff David Clarke is to be commended for speaking out about residents taking a weapon’s training course and then being prepared to defend one’s self etc.,  should the need arise .  It’s naive to think that any law enforcement officer will arrive in seconds when called out.  Mayor Tom Barrett apparently has no regard for the safety of his constitutents nor does his idiot   spokesperson who made a snide remark about the Sheriff “auditioning for the next Dirty Harry movie.”  As for the statement about “imminent danger” to the public, there certainly is when the only “armed” individuals are criminals who will always have weapons of every kind along with that paragon of “man-made disasters” Janet Napolitano whose Dept. of Homeland Security is amassing every kind of gun and millions-of-rounds-of-ammunition.   These “bleeding heart liberals of Milwaukee should be questioning what DHS intends to do with such an armory instead of attacking a brave Sheriff who cares enough about the people he’s charged with serving and protecting.

  • jojac

Indeed some police dept’s may be phenomenal, but they are not superman, nor are they omnipresent.
The right to bear arms was God given. Jesus commanded His disciples to arm themselves, and He
also said, that  “a strong man armed keepeth his house.”  And Paul said that if a man does not provide
for his family he is worse than an infidel.”   Thus those who are scoffing at the sheriff’s statement must
    be infidels.

    • the Truth Seeker

@jojac The right to bear arms was not God given and your perverse use of Scripture reflects the paucity of your argument or position. If that were true, why were the early Christians martyrs? Why did they not fight back at the Romans? Why the Sermon on the Mount? Why is Jesus a loving God? The 2nd Amendment has been perverted for generations and semi-automatics have no place in America, whether in the home, the street, the range or even the forest. It is a pure killing machine that is used strictly for that purpose and for the gun nuts to get their rocks off pinking cans. The proliferation of guns on our streets has made no one safe. Gun carry laws should be rarely given out, and ammo for street brigands should be dried up. It is working in both Britain and Australia. The United Kingdom has one of the lowest rates of gun homicides in the world with 0.07 recorded intentional homicides committed with a firearm per 100,000 inhabitants in 2009 compared to the United States’ 3.0 (over 40 times higher) and to Germany’s 0.21 (3 times higher).

Firearm laws in Australia are enforced at a Federal and State level. Gun ownership is accessible to the civilian population, and those persons must comply with ‘genuine reasons’ to obtain a ‘Permit to Acquire’ from their State government. ‘Genuine Reasons’ focus on either hunting and/or sport/target shooting (for Rifles), and do not include ‘personal protection.’Handgun license are also available, and applied for separately. In New South Wales (and similar in other States), firearm ownership is widely prohibited for convicted offenders or those with a history of mental illness. Gun licenses must be renewed either annually or every 5 years, and expire automatically (if not renewed prior).

Firearm controls have been in place following the 1996 Port Arthur massacre. Gun ownership in Australia is not a wide social issue, and major political parties are generally supportive of pro-control legislation (Although parties such as the New South Wales Shooters Party, which represent pro-deregulation, have a small number of seats in State Parliaments).
The rate of homicides involving firearms per 100,000 population in 2009 was 0.1, as compared with 3.3 in the United States.[2] The rate of unintentional deaths involving firearms in 2001 was 0.09 as compared with 0.27 in the United States.

      • RichBach

@the Truth Seeker  @jojac Let me see if I got this right.  Britain and Australia have a lower violent crime rate than the U. S. because they have had their guns confiscated.  Answer the question.  Why do those folks still tell  the citizens of the United States to not give up their guns?  Could it be to stop government tyranny?  By the way, Canada has made a similar statement about giving up our guns.  Molon Labe.  Semper Fi to all the Marines out there.

@emick Just a heads up about a video on You tube called Battle of Athens Tenn. It is a battle that was fought in 1946 when corrupt politicians stole ballot boxes from a voting site by force and the men who armed themselves and took them back. I just watched it and its good! Not a long one either.

@WilliamVincent  @emick Yes it is!  There is also some info on wikipedia.org as well. That’s is why I posted it because I think it would be good for all to see.

    • the Truth Seeker

@emick  Your issue has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment and a woman has as much right to her own body as you have a right to have a gun in your home. As to carry laws and what fire power you have, that is left to the states and every state makes it’s own rules. With regards to the Brady Bill, it will be eventually back, and extensive background checks, clip limits and other changes will happen no matter how much you scream and yell. Even in the deepest Red State of MS, the personage bill was crushed. Not all the people in the Red Neck States are red necks. Even on this moronic site there are some sensible people wasting their time with troglodytes.

        • the Truth Seeker

@WilliamVincent  @emick So, in other words, since all Democrats and supporters of the President  are leftist, commies, now I am a modern day Goebbels? You should learn to spell before you venture on these sites. By reflecting illiteracy you accomplish two ends; one you impress the rest of your ilk, by protesting against education and you also remind the others that you are a crackpot, with little or no education, knowledge or intellectual consistency.  As to the 2nd Amendment, it is an amendment, which can be changed. There have been many changes to the Constitution and there may be more. At one time, Chief Justice Roger Taney, reaffirmed the Fugitive Slave Act and basically lit the tinder that caused the Civil War. Methinks that many of you extremists see gun ownership in the same way as your ancestors saw slave ownership; as a way of life.

        • JimMcnevin

@the Truth Seeker  @WilliamVincent  @emick what is methinks anyway never heard of that one, good english there.

You still spew nothing but propaganda, almost all of your statistics can be debunked. And your litteracy is in question, because most of it, is not from thinking, its just some left wing, physco, hyperbole…. that is nothing more than repeating something, someone else wrote. Do you have any original thoughts or are you just a parrot? You can question my educational back ground, it will match yours anyday.  Slave ownership ?  You are in fact the slave, to big government, entitlements, welfare, You, are definitely a slave you have to have the governmemt tell you what, where, and when to do anything, You obviously don’t possess the mental capacity to govern yourself.  Get off the government crutch, and try to be a self governed man, instead of a house boy Tobey.

        • the Truth Seeker

@WilliamVincent  @emick I don’t know whether you are angry, impotent or nuts. I write and I research. I have had a long career on Wall Street and Main Street. I have been a capitalist all my life, gainfully employed, have well-educated, married offspring and have been retired for years. I have lived in three great neighborhoods for almost 70 years, and I have had few if any civil servants or union members in my family going back more than 100 years. If i did, I would be just as proud of their work. Thank God for our work force including our GIs.  I have an American, eurocentric back ground that dates back to the 1880’s and am quite proud of our country, its commitment to democracy, its efforts in both World Wars, its containment and triumph over communism and its continuing war on terror. I support our men in the service and a number of members of my family have been highly decorated soldiers.I have no interest in taking your gun or guns and in reality my only interest is whether you are sane enough to possess one.

As to the capital markets I have excellent connections to both public and private equity. With regards to guns, I have no problem with the ownership of pistols for home protection and rifles and shot guns for sport and hunting. I would support background checks on any and all gun owners and support re-licensing. That is what I believe and I could care less what you call it. Everything to you that strays from your brand of Americanism is foreign.

As to being God-fearing, I am and so are all my children and their spouses. So who the hell are you right wing, proto-fascist thugs to bully any one and hide behind the Constitution, which you know little about. Yes, you can read, yes you worship fundamentalism, original intent, and strict interpretation, but you have little room for adaptation or the flow of mankind.
The 2nd Amendment is no more important or relevant to me and scores of millions of others as the 3rd Amendment. In fact, there are millions on the right, who for generations, hated the 5th Amendment and vilified its use by gangsters and people abused and accused by HUAC and Joe McCarthy and his witch hunters, like Maine Republican Senator Owen Brewster who went to jail. In fact, you should take a look at the careers of many of those right-wing witch-hunting members of Congress.

In other words when it comes to the 9th and 10th Amendments, judges are constantly reviewing rights, power and laws with regards to which branch has authority.

You are like the Roman soldiers buried at Herculeum by the dust of Vesuvius. They were ordered to stay at their posts and 1900 years later, when the dust was cleared, they were right there at the ready.

You pathetic lowlifes, who hate democracy, unless you control it? I read daily all the blogs and it is the same old fearful characters who spout libertarian, off the wall, anarchistic nonesense, unless they control the rules of the game. They and I assume you are the heirs of the Know Nothing  xenophobes, the Jim Crow racists, the anti-suffrage misogynists and the anti-Semites of the right which blocked immigration in the 1930’s Don’t ell me of history. I have forgotten more than you could ever learn in 10 lifetimes.

You folks can bleat all you want. You are a dying and decaying minority. Your guns are all you faux patriots have left.  You can insult, you can spew vileness all you want. Each piece I write or paste is well thought out and sincere to my strong American beliefs. Only my answers to your insults, slander, baseless assertions and ridicule are laced with the same language you start out with.

You half-wits can only deny, deny and deny. You can cite little and your limited and primitive views are no different then than the blind man holding the trunk of an elephant and assuming it is a snake.

@the Truth Seeker  @emick Not all people who are against gun control are Rednecks either! If you want no guns, go to Australia, see how they are doing. Take all the guns away from the criminals and we will talk. Too bad you have no commonsense, but there again it just doesnt go with an ego like yours.

        • the Truth Seeker

          @jstarusa@emick
Speaking of Australia and gun control, their population is 22.9 million and ours, in January of 2013, was 315.2 million, a ratio of 13.7 to 1. We had 32,000 gun deaths, they suffered 236.

As to their gun laws, since there was no corresponding rise in homicides or suicides not involving firearms, individuals weren’t simply shifting to other methods to harm themselves or others. They were actually deciding against committing acts of violence in the absence of easy access to guns. Researchers found that a buyback of 3,500 guns per 100,000 people reduced the firearm suicide rate by as much as 74 percent:
This isn’t the first time that public health researchers have pointed out the relationship between gun possession and suicide. For instance, when Israel stopped allowing its soldiers to take their guns home and had them leave them on base, suicides on weekends dropped 60 percent among the country’s soldiers. The impulse to commit suicide is temporary — so if the density of guns within a population goes down, then so does the chance that any person’s momentary desire to take their own life will intersect with access to a firearm. Here are the numbers!

          2010: 2361 2009: 227 2008: 232 2007: 237 2006: 246 2005: 212 2004: 234 2003: 287 2002: 292 2001: 326 2000: 324 1999: 347 1998: 312 1997: 428 1996: 516 1995: 470 1994: 516 1993: 513 1992: 608 1991: 618 1990: 595 1989: 549 1988: 674 1987: 694 1986: 677 1985: 682 1984: 675 1983: 644 1982: 689 1981: 618 1980: 687

@Constituionalist  @the Truth Seeker  @jstarusa  @emick This is a great point. All the things these idiots say is wrong with the Constitution could be remedied since the document itself provides an amendment process. But being distinct minorities on such issues, they must resort to subterfuge, lies, and false propaganda, and crimes to have their way! Polls clearly show that even a majority of those who call themselves democrats are against these phony efforts to curb 2nd Amendment rights, I wonder how they like the idiot like ‘truth seeker’ calling them idiots and re necks?

      • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker Can I borrow that crystal ball of yours considering you know which bills will be enacted and who will be yelling and screaming ??  Those of us that believe in the Constitution don’t pay much attention to the gun laws that come and go with the knee jerk reactors such as yourself and your progressive buddies.  We calmly hold onto our guns and wait for the lame bills to expire as they always do.

Here is another little known fact that the Liberal Media won’t tell you.  When the police got to the school in Sandy Hook, they found 4 hand guns and no assault weapons.  When they searched the car, the rifles were locked in the trunk.  It seems that the Liberal Media just ran with that.  I remember from history that there was a propaganda minister in Germany and his name was Joseph Goebbels.  It seems to me today that the propaganda ministers in the United States are the Main Stream Media.  Think about that.

    • the Truth Seeker

@RichBach What the hell are you sniffing- run out of Ducot cement?

  • al pambuena

these town officials forget that police will arrive at the scene of a crime….AFTER…the crime has been committed, and after the victims have been killed…by people arming themselves, at least they have a fighting chance of protecting themselves, and not becoming a victim at all. these town officials, just like the federal government, have little faith in the common people, and think that they are smarter than any of us. they sure dont like it when we are able to protect ourselves, but they love our money wen it comes to taxes and supporting their causes. maybe this whole thing has finally come down to the fact that we are tired of being victims of the government, the mental wack jobs on pills, the druggies, and doppers….so hopefully more people will get themselves armed and crime and murders will be reduced.

  • Dennis822

Well it is good to see that the sheriff departments are willing to stand up for Constitutional freedom… Now if our Military, and Congressmen can do the same we might actually have a chance to stop this out-of-control government!

Obama is nuts! He is preparing for all out war with the American people!  To kill anyone who doesn’t give up their Second Amendment freedom! Obama has sided with the thugs and street punks!  Your granny, grandma,  grandpa, grandad, mom, dad,  brother, sister,  cousin, aunt, uncle, or children are all cattle to be desposed of by Obama; if Obama gets his way!   Take up your hand gun, your shotgun, your rifle, your ar-15 special your grenade laucher(if you have one), Your rocket launcher(if you have one) and get ready to defend your rights to keep and bear arms…  From any and all thugs or politician lackeys…  Even if they are our own American soldiers, just remember that they are traitors if they stand against the Constitution for any of the people’s rights! They are sworn to defend the Constitution against all threats from without and from within..  You will be dead if they manage to disarm you anyway, because the murderers and theives of society will become you new masters, and they have a bad habit to kill innocent people for mere fun…  Keep your guns and you will stay free, but if you surrender your arms you will be waiting for death’s embraceunder a slave master’s yolk…  Like I said Obama is just plain crazy and dellusional Contact your Governor they are in many ways the last line of defense! feel free to donate a little extra to your local Second Amendment support organization… Be free America, and  stay free!

You had better be prepared when they come for you, it  will be too late when they get here, if you are already ready for them. You can have all of assault weapons, I will keep my shoot gun, you cannot have it.

    • DonBahn1

@Evermyrtle Sweetheart, any weapon in the hand is an assault weapon. If you have an automatic shotgun with at least ten rounds in it you might be able to defend yourself. I will take my SKS with 10 rounds, or my Colt model 2000 semi auto pistol 9 mm with 1 in the shamber and 15 rounds in the magazine, before a shotgun, my choice will go through a wall and stop a perpetrator, a shot gun might not stop a perpetrator that is hiding on the other side of a wall.

      • the Truth Seeker

@DonBahn1  @Evermyrtle  Big talk morons. You couldn’t shoot straight in a latrine. I love listening to the macho men and women with their big talk. You must have been listening to Charlton Heston ads. You seem to have Od’ed on that bull-tickie. You whimpering chicken-sh-ts would blow your brains out first. But then again, who or what would waste their time on your meaningless existence? I am not sure the IRS cares whether you cheat!

        • DonBahn1

@the Truth Seeker  @Evermyrtle At 100 yards I can put all 10 rounds in a 1 inch group using iron sights with an SKS, my 9 mm all 16 rounds in a 1 inch group at 50 yards, get closer and the group gets less than 1 inch. Thank the Military for training my firearm capability.

        • Don39

@DonBahn1  @the Truth Seeker  @Evermyrtle And thank the military for training you, and me, to be able to resist the tyranny that this puppet of the left and the fraud president would put on us all! The politicians misuse of us may yet have unintended and positive consequences if we do not let them get to far before we close down their efforts! Hey nitwit seeker, there is that veiled threat again!

        • RichardWest

          @the Truth Seeker
You seem to think you are some kind of bad ass.  You talk a lot of crap.  Just because you would be far too stupid to handle a weapon, you choose to lump everyone else in with your incompetence.  I would be able to take you out very quickly, without injury to myself, in the slightest.  I’m sure nearly everyone else posting here, would be able to do the same.  One thing you can bet on, when the shit hits the fan (caused by you Libs), I will make it my duty, to eleminate all Libs from this planet.  You shall reap what you’ve sewn.  Don’t come crying to me, when the government you so love, treats you as crap, and tries to enslave you, too.  They care no more about you than your mother did.

        • Don39

@RichardWest  @the Truth Seeker Oh I don’t know about that since he is part of them, their propaganda machine. I suspect he can expect a lot more from him as long as he is a useful tool!

  • Muleskinner

Truth Seeker do not open the “racist” can of worms. Obama is a racist and had admitted as much in his book about not liking his “mothers” people and decided early on to be “black”. Obama hates whites and women, but more importantly Obama hates Americans! He wants to destroy America because of that hate. You might stop posting and read up on your subject matter. Plus, one more thought and I will never knowingly address you again. I hope that you and your family are never in a position where a criminal with a gun starts shooting at you and all you can do is reach for you cell phone and dial 911. At that point, I would strongly suggest to you not to start spouting those lame studies.  Get a plan in place to protect your family and yourself. Do not wear blinders against protecting your family. Good Luck!

    • the Truth Seeker

@Muleskinner  Again, that is a specious lie, unsupported by any evidence, quotes or associations. These sites and their right-wing clones are hot beds for racial accusations,  stereotypes and threats of violence. The examples are rife. The Red Necks, in our society, who reside in the Old South seem to have forgotten the sins of their fore bearers. Slavery was a social disaster and its end, it cost 631 thousand lives. We were a disgrace to the civilized world, and the Dred Scott disastrous decision, authored by Chief Justice Roger Taney, basically made the slavery of even free Blacks legal. He was a disgrace, his ruling and majority written opinion was a disgrace and people like you seemed to be fellow travelers of that hatred and prejudice. In the words of the essayist, Samuel Johnson, “The last refuge of a scoundrel is patriotism.” You faux patriots fir that pattern perfectly.  Any Black person in America has a great deal more to be angry about than assuredly, the grandchildren and issue of slave masters. But accusing the president of being a racist and anti-women is a mindless joke and a baseless canard.

      • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker  That’s interesting because everyone of the shooters in the mass killing tragedies of the last 15 years were all left wingers.  Considering your hostility for the people on this blog that just want to keep the rights given to them by God and afforded by the Constitution, it would seem that you are the angry cell phone toting moron.  Furthermore, slavery was a position of the Democratic party, not the Republicans, you really need a history lesson.  Additionally, the KKK was founded and run by democrats as well not to mention several grand masters and other high priests that went on to become democratic senators. The unpatriotic slave traders of yesteryear are all on your side of the aisle.

Lastly, you have all the proof you need in documents, books and interviews with Oblamo, that clearly shows his racism. Not that I really care as I believe we are all racists to some degree and Oblamo only serves to make sure we will never have another black president.  After his disastrous presidency, we can all state safely,  “…been there , done that, next…”

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer  @the Truth Seeker 1. Most of these murderers are not driven by ideology, but insanity. I don’t know of any of them who killed for left wing causes. However Tim Mcveigh is the poster for the cretin, anti-government Right Wing.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer  @the Truth Seeker By your logic, Bush will definitely been our last White President!  No?

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly  You better hope not.  Obama’s skin color has only dictated that he has little to no real knowledge of how the country operates.  He is a product of affirmative action and has been propped up by false accolades his entire life.  He posses no real skills other than the art of pathologically lying which would put most behind bars for a very long time.  Would you rather be living in 2006 right now or this current year ?  Depending on your ability to be unbiased, you’ll have your answer.

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly  Timothy McVeigh didn’t kill anyone with a rifle.  I thought we were discussing guns here ?  It’s interesting to see how you progressives love to stray off subject to try to make your misguided arguments.  By the way, all the materials used to make the bomb that he used are still legal and readily accessible, I’m amazed that progressives haven’t tried to lock down manure. I guess by your logic, it’s ok to kill if you’re a registered democrat and insane but if your an ideologue that’s registered Republican, your just plain bad.  Good argument, keep that line of thinking going, I can’t wait to hear more.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer You deviated to ideology by implying mass killers were left wing. As usual, I quickly put another of your moronic ideas to rest.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer Wow! Obama’s “Skin Color” is the reason he’s got it all wrong!  What then about Allen Keyes. Allan West, Herman Cain and Clarance Thomas’ “skin Color?  Also was it George Bush’ “skin color that led him to invade Iraq?

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly As usual you strayed from the conversation context.  Did you not read the title of the editorial or does that escape you as well in a rabid effort to blog away your left wing fanatical points.

        • the Truth Seeker

@Seymour Kleerly  @Obummer As a person who has been involved in local and statewide politics for 45 years at every level, I would predict that as we are moving forward, my best assumption is that if Obama has a decent 2nd term, and I believe that is distinctively possible, the Democrats can win again. The key to the future is the 2014 mid term elections. I have been doing a lecture on the Disaster of the 2nd term for years and other than Clinton, most 2nd terms have been pretty bad. But, Obama’s field organization will be an ongoing force, and I see them targeting three distinct areas: one raising oodles of money, getting out a record mid year vote and targeting the GOP in vulnerable Blue State districts along with other Tea Party  extremists like Bachmann, King, etc. If the Democrats take the House by one vote, Obama will be quite strong. If that happens I see HIllary Clinton as unbeatable. Her vice-president could be a Black like Cory Booker, and he would be in pivotal position in 2024 if she wins two terms.

Hillary can hold all of Obama’s votes, do better with the Jewish vote, which he received 69%, raise her women’s vote total 10-15% with ease and capture white male votes who like Democratic polices, hate Wall Street plutocrats and do not like Obama. But, the bottom line is that is Hillary wins, the Court will change dramatically.  Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy will probably be gone and all of us will be much older, the country will be different demographically and issues like Gays, guns and etc. will be dramatically altered. The old Eurocentric males who are rebelling against this power shift will be out of the loop and their progeny will care less.

        • the Truth Seeker

@Obummer  @Seymour Kleerly He knows a helluva lot more how this country runs than know nothing ostriches like you can even imagine. He’s doing well against fierce irrational opposition, many race and power based. His poll ratings are high, he’s respected as a good family man and his overseas profile is one of the highest since FDR and JFK. Remember Bush 43 had the lowest sustained poll numbers in the history of polling. Of course you’ll disagree, but I have the numbers. So you and yours are the “odd men” out.

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly You brought skin color into the conversation.  You stated that Bush would be our last white president in some maligned response, I’m just responding to you and I guess in your usual left wing progressive argument strategy, you are attempting to lump all blacks together to make me look like some sort of racist ?  Not gonna work, bozo.

I do believe that Obama’s skin color and his pursuit of his “black side” as he has stated in his memoirs, has led him down the path of solace in the embrace of affirmative action which further led to his inability to appropriately develop any type of skills.  I think the skin color of Allen Keys, Allan West, Herman Cain and Clarence Thomas is just fine. They are black as well but they avoided buying into the black theology or victimhood that Oblamo  can’t seem to shake.

Do you think that Bush invaded Iraq because he was white ?  That’s a really stupid question.  Don’t try to spin this into a racial argument because you have no valid arguments for what the article is really about.  You can post that crap all day long on the Huffington Post and they love you for it but don’t try that here.

        • the Truth Seeker

          @Seymour Kleerly
Note this recent case of another KKK wannabe! He’s more like the profile of the sociopath. Most left-wingers are pacifists and one worlders. This was from 3 weeks ago.

So, it looks like we are facing more of the same from other copy-cat racists and maniacs who believe in the same hatred of their KKK forbearers. But, of course, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” But, without large clip semi-assault weapons” these sociopaths would be less dangerous.

Senator Rand Paul’s 19 year old son was arrested at Charlotte’s Airport for drunkenness, disorderly conduct and disruptive. Another paragon of the libertarian right wants to control the country, but is having time controlling his son. What else is new? Since when have red necks and right wing crazies have been able to raise their progeny? Just look at the divorce rate, the murder rate, the sodomy rate, the illegitimacy rate, the child abuse rate, and the incidence of rape.

In the “Red States” where they exert so much political clout and legislative influence, in the  Vanity Fair magazine (please access the following site: http://louisvilledivorce.typepad.com/info/2006/11/red_state_blue.html ) one can read about the “real” national statistics on morality.

        • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker  You see, this is all you left wing nut jobs care about, elections and how to fool the electorate enough to win.  In the end you’ll only serve to diminish the greatness of the country if you succeed.  Oblamo will have as disastrous a 2nd term as his 1st but will continue to beat the drum to give more money away to the people that don’t work for a living.  Eventually, if you continue to head down this road, you’ll end up with your utopia where only criminals have guns and no one is left to pay the bills.  When the country gets enough of his reckless spending and realizes that we are in deep, they will elect a conservative to bail them out as they always have. The liberal left mentality is mostly aligned with your typical irresponsible individual that knows no boundaries and only realizes how far off the grid they have gone once they are there, they have no ability to understand logic, economics or how to simply balance a checkbook.  Most of them think like Oblamo, if they still have check in the book, it must mean they still have money.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@the Truth Seeker  @Obummer Awesome! Thanks for the post. I starting to like Booker.  Hillary’s a shoe in no matter what.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer Sorry, you actually used the phrase “skin color” saying it was responsible for Obama’s actions. I just tried to show how racist and moronic that was.

        • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker  Let me see, unemployment is and has been his entire presidency, at 8% and he wants to add 20 million more unskilled illegal aleins to the work force, just the amount of debt Oblamo has added supersedes all previous Presidents combined, Housing is in the tank, business starts are dismal, the fed funds rate that helps retirement and investment is at almost 0, Gas prices are through the roof, Groceries and commodities are sky high and your focused on poll results and think he’s doing well ????????  You are an idiot, no doubt about it.

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly  @the Truth Seeker Keep dreaming, Hillary’s not going anywhere but home to Bill where she and the interns can toss his salad.

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly Once again, you miss the context completely.

        • the Truth Seeker

@Obummer I am signing off this site this evening- so this is the last time I will indulge your moronic assertions. I don’t dislike you because you are a conservative. I don’t dislike you personally because I do not know you. But I intensely hate bigotry, small-mindedness and a mean-spirited demeanor. In other words, your views of the country, the president, Democrats, liberals and all sorts of decent people are frankly disgusting and un-American. We are a pluralistic society, that believes and supports the two-party system, has welcomed immigrants throughout its history and supports democracy all over the world. You are the complete antithesis of any American virtues. Your mantra is hate and guns, guns and fear, fear and loathing.  Have fun with the rest of your squalid, small existence. You and your ilk here can work on your gun range skills while the rest of the world moves on.

        • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker I think your consistent involvement in politics for the past 45 years has led you to a place where you wouldn’t recognize a true American even if he/she shot you in the ass.  I can safely state that I dislike people like you because you are a danger to the country and all people around you.  I can only hope that you choose to move to another country that would embrace your form of progressiveness,  socialism, marixsim, communisim or whatever you are calling it these days.  We welcome immigrants but not illegal aliens that break the law coming into this country and then rape it for whatever they get from it all the while contributing nothing more than cleaning toilets and picking corn. I have more true patriotism in my little pinky finger than you could summarize in your entire being. My grandparents cam to this country from Italy, spent several months on Ellis Island along with having to provide a sponsor.  Our family has fought for this country in every war since then and will do so again all the while providing people like you the ability to spew your nonsense.  People like you beat around the bush and love to mentally masturbate yourself into thinking your the smartest person in the room but it only serves as self idolatry. I will continue my range skills, thank you very much. I doubt that because I enjoy guns, cars, cigars or fiscal responsibility that I will be left behind as the world spins, contrary to your belief, I will be at the forefront as always disputing the filth and lies that comes from people like you.  When you seek the truth, you can come back for some enlightenment.

@the Truth Seeker  @Seymour Kleerly  @Obummer Isn’t it interesting that the “Truth Seeker” still hasn’t found out that we are moving backwards rather than forward.  He probably is not “seeking” very effectively.  Poor guy.  But then again, people who think they know it all will never find out that they know very little.  Nihil est peius iis, qui paulum aliquid ultra primas litteras progressi falsa sibi scientiae persuasionem induerunt.

@the Truth Seeker  @Seymour Kleerly The KKK fanatic is much more akin to your brand of politics that to that of the Constitution abiding and believing CONSERVATIVES that you find here. Here we believe in the Republic and its laws. We even believe that the Constitution and the laws derived there from means something. I did note that the little KKK want-a-be was going to user NOT GUNS, but explosives to do his dirty work. You stupid chump you just keep burying yourself! @Henry Leunissen  @the Truth Seeker  @Seymour Kleerly I agree, he reminds me of an angry night school professor that is indignant that he is correct, all the while the facts that are opposite, stare him the face.  Has anyone seen the South Park episode where all the parents think they are intellectuals and are go overboard on the global warming issue that they start putting their heads between their legs when they pass gas in an attempt to save the planet from their own methane gasses ?  I think of that episode every time I encounter an individual like “the Truth avoider” and “Seymour Blindly”.  Too, too funny !!

You my good man are an extremely good patriot.  Your retort was well said and I applaud you for the eloquence and articulation.  It’s a shame that we have to endure the likes of mindless morons that can’t see the forest for the next government handout.

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly  @the Truth Seeker Sure and that’s why Obama won by the slim margin he did along with a net loss in house and senate seats.  The real problem with your party and the voters on your side is that they are so weak minded and without work ethic, they can’t handle the truth about the country not being able to support all the give away programs.  This is what led to Obalmo’s 2nd term, nothing but weak people, minorities and leaches that want a handout.  Romney told them the truth and didn’t prostitute himself like Obama and when your advocating for hard work when the other guy is promising freebies, you’re gonna lose, but the country does as well.  In the end you will lose big as most of us conservatives are resilient unlike you progressive weenies that can’t figure out which end of the rifle rests upon your shoulder.

        • Obummer

@Seymour Kleerly  @Henry Leunissen  @the Truth Seeker Yep, Fox News, ranked as the most trusted news network in the US, that must really piss the both of you (“Seymour Blindly and the Truth Avoider”) off , huh. @Seymour Kleerly  That may be true, but there are just as many rich Liberals out there, stealing money from honest citizens.  I do dislike rich people, whether they be Libtards or otherwise, but only if they earned their money dishonestly.  I have a strong dislike for the criminal element, regardless of their political affiliations.  But the fact also remains, the street people, as you called them, are mainly Libs, and they commit most of the crimes.  Monetary crimes are not the only crimes.  I would rather have $1000 embezzled from me, by one greedy rich person, than to by attacked and severely beaten by 2 crackheads, trying to get enough for their next fix.  A dishonest rich person, is far less likely to cause the death of my daughter, than some strung out Obummer voter, who will do anything for drugs.

The U.S. has the highest rate of firearm deaths among 25 high-income nations. Another study concluded that among 36 high-income and upper-middle-income countries, the U.S. has the highest overall gun mortality rate. The overall firearm-related death rate among U.S. children under the age of 15 is nearly 12 times higher than that among children in 25 other industrialized nations combined.

@DonBahn1 Those meaningless, oft-repeated and ridiculous simplifications don’t prove a thing. What they reflect is a simple mind regurgitating simplistic arguments. In fact, all of those societies, wished to control their people, were not free countries or democracies and had the ability to round up guns or disarm the weaker elements of the public they wished. They had the support of the majority, who were willing assassins and resistance could have slowed down the end game, but all of these minorities were unaware of their fates and fearful for the lives of their children. Being armed and unorganized would have been just as futile.

With or without an armed minority, a majority wishing to kill people, can accomplish much more by divide and conquer.  I wasted my time answering you, but since I am comfortably retired I have some time to debate these issues.  The Russian Revolutions were started with men having guns, in both 1905 and 1917,  the Nazi street thugs started their urban civil war with WWI guns, the violent streets of America, during Vietnam, were fed by guns brought home by vets who often were minorities returning to Jim Crow laws and no jobs, the revolution in Mexico was fed by guns and there are a million examples on both sides of the political coin. Western nations, who are democracies, do not seem to need guns. But, normal people may need guns to protect themselves from political crazies like you. Thankfully we have the police, the National Guard, the Reserves and the FBI to protect us from people like Alex Jones and others.

Ayn Rand put it well in the mouth of one of her bureaucrat villains in the novel Atlas Shrugged:
“Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against… We’re after power and we mean it… There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers… and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”

      • nazranger

@barrett  @the Truth Seeker and everyone else on this discussion thread…facts and figures are impressive and speak to trends, probabilities and percentages. Embedded between those facts and figures are a host of uniquely individual variables that lead to that specific statistic. What is being missed and the bottom line for this whole discussion is the challenge to the 2nd Amendment. Owning firearms is a personal choice and responsibility. The 2nd Amendment gives Americans that choice. It is part of the Bill of Rights which was intended to protect citizens from tyranny by the government and other unreasonable conditions forced upon citizens by that which is outside our personal realm. This wisdom, carved out over 200 years ago is not something to be taken lightly. Once the Bill of Rights is challenged, we are indeed on a very slippery slope.

        • the Truth Seeker

@nazlranger  @barrett  There are no absolutes with the Amendments and earlier Supreme Court rulings have stated that from the 1880’s through the Heller Decision in 2008. The Court in Heller even eliminated the “militia” language. None of the Court’s precedents forecloses the Court’s interpretation. Neither United States v. Cruikshank, 92 U. S. 542 , nor Presser v. Illinois, 116 U. S. 252, refutes the individual-rights interpretation. United States v. Miller, 307 U. S. 174 , does not limit the right to keep and bear arms to militia purposes, but rather limits the type of weapon to which the right applies to those used by the militia, i.e., those in common use for lawful purposes.

In Presser v. Illinois, 116 U.S. 252 (1886), Herman Presser headed a German-American paramilitary shooting organization and was arrested for leading a parade group of 400 men, training and drilling with military weapons with the declared intention to fight, through the streets of Chicago as a violation of Illinois law that prohibited public drilling and parading in military style without a permit from the governor.

At his trial, Presser argued that the State of Illinois had violated his Second Amendment rights. The Supreme Court reaffirmed Cruikshank and held that the Second Amendment prevented neither the States nor Congress from barring private militias that parade with arms; such a right “cannot be claimed as a right independent of law.” This decision upheld the States’ authority to regulate the militia and that citizens had no right to create their own militias or to own weapons for semi-military purposes.

In Miller v. Texas, 153 U.S. 535 (1894), Franklin Miller was convicted and sentenced to be executed for shooting a police officer to death with an unlicensed handgun in violation of Texas law. Miller sought to have his conviction overturned, claiming his Second Amendment rights were violated and that the Bill of Rights should be applied to state law. The Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment did not apply to state laws such as the Texas law:[136] “As the proceedings were conducted under the ordinary forms of criminal prosecutions there certainly was no denial of due process of law.”

In Robertson v. Baldwin, 165 U.S. 275 (1897), the Court stated that laws regulating concealed arms did not infringe upon the right to keep and bear arms and thus were not a violation of the Second Amendment:
The law is perfectly well settled that the first ten amendments to the Constitution, commonly known as the “Bill of Rights,” were not intended to lay down any novel principles of government, but simply to embody certain guaranties and immunities which we had inherited from our English ancestors, and which had, from time immemorial, been subject to certain well recognized exceptions arising from the necessities of the case. In incorporating these principles into the fundamental law, there was no intention of disregarding the exceptions, which continued to be recognized as if they had been formally expressed. Thus, the freedom of speech and of the press (Art. I) does not permit the publication of libels, blasphemous or indecent articles, or other publications injurious to public morals or private reputation; the right of the people to keep and bear arms (Art. II) is not infringed by laws prohibiting the carrying of concealed weapons.

Main article: United States v. Miller
In United States v. Miller, 307 U.S. 174 (1939), the Supreme Court rejected a Second Amendment challenge to the National Firearms Act prohibiting the interstate transportation of unregistered Title II weapons:
Jack Miller and Frank Layton “did unlawfully…transport in interstate commerce from…Claremore…Oklahoma to…Siloam Springs…Arkansas a certain firearm…a double barrel…shotgun having a barrel less than 18 inches in length…at the time of so transporting said firearm in interstate commerce…not having registered said firearm as required by Section 1132d of Title 26, United States Code, …and not having in their possession a stamp-affixed written order…as provided by Section 1132C…”
In a unanimous opinion authored by Justice McReynolds, the Supreme Court stated “the objection that the Act usurps police power reserved to the States is plainly untenable.” As the Court explained:

In the absence of any evidence tending to show that possession or use of a ‘shotgun having a barrel of less than eighteen inches in length’ at this time has some reasonable relationship to any preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia, we cannot say that the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear such an instrument. Certainly it is not within judicial notice that this weapon is any part of the ordinary military equipment or that its use could contribute to the common defense.[
Gun rights advocates cite Miller because they claim that the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protected the right to keep arms that are part of “ordinary military equipment.” Gun control advocates cite Miller because they claim that the Court did not consider the question of whether the sawed-off shotgun in the case would be an applicable weapon for personal defense, instead looking solely at the weapon’s suitability for the “common defense.” Law professor Andrew McClurg states, “The only certainty about Miller is that it failed to give either side a clear-cut victory. Most modern scholars recognize this fact.”

In the coming days and years there will me different cases, new Justices and changes in public awareness. I do not see this as tampering with the Bill of Rights.

@the Truth Seeker  @nazlranger  @barrett Maybe the lies are not your thoughts , but those of the sycophants you have putting your drivel together. Maybe you should spend more time fact checking. I have in fact publicly called you on a number of inaccuracies and side shows.

    • Don39

@the Truth Seeker Even UN published data refutes this lie!

    • longshorts3

      @the Truth Seeker
OK Truth Seeker, what is your point? I’ve had a concealed weapons permit since I was 19 (some 37 years ago) and there has been no gun accidents here. Nobody has been shot by accident, although one did get shot and held until police arrived. He didn’t survive to cost the county the cost of a trial. I was very upset to have to do what I did, but my wife blessed me for protecting her and our kids. I’ll do it again if I have to.

    • They walk among us

@the Truth Seeker Hand guns when registered & classes taken where we take tests and actually are given instructions on shooting & handling of a weapon of choice is what keeps us from shooting ourselves.   The only reason we would die is not having a weapon for protection.  Coming from a family of 48 relatives and all gun owners, we have taught our children to respect laws governing guns.   Its only the parents that don’t teach their children right & wrong that have problems with the handling of firearms.   You anti-gun people are always quoting numbers of things that go wrong owning guns.   Its a shame you can’t get your info from a reliable source.  Its just like the percentages of who likes Obama…..the blacks, muslims, and hispanic   neighborhoods are the places they go for their info.

    • DonBahn1

@the Truth Seeker You can find stories every day about lawful self-defense on the KeepAndBearArms.com website.

      • the Truth Seeker

@DonBahn1  You are right, they are “stories.” But there are three new ones: over 1000 people have been shot by guns since Newtown and there are two more shootings with hostages. The bloodletting goes on unabated as Wayne La Pierre the highly paid flack for the gun industry emotes in front of Congress. He wants no more background checks and claims they don’t work. But, lo and behold, blind, death and dumb and dumber, 75,000 felons were stopped from buying guns.  But, genius, how many weren’t stopped at gun shows where a huge percentage of these weapons are sold and resold on the black and gray markets? Now one would think that even a mental midget like yourself could even consider that possibility. But can light really penetrate that block of cement between your ears? Purists and absolutists on the right only support the, “take no prisoners” mantra.

        • Combat Veteran Seabee

@the Truth Seeker  @DonBahn1  Truth Seeker,You are no truth seeker, but rather, nothing more than a propoganda blowhard!

        • WilliamVincent

          @Combat Veteran Seabee  @the Truth Seeker  @DonBahn1
Truth seeker’s a  “Left Wing-Propaganda Machine”,  Probably a good moniker for him.

        • nazranger

          @the Truth Seeker@DonBahn1
TruthSeeker – I am impressed and commend you for taking on everyone on this forum. I too am concerned and disturbed by senseless gun violence. The key word here is “senseless”, meaning not having any sense. Not having any sense would imply mental impairment – temporary impairment or chronic impairment. I may be inviting ire from many when I make the following comments but here we go.

The majority of senseless gun violence in urban areas are committed by perpetrators who would be identified as criminals who have little regard for the law. This is a socio-economic situation where day-to-day living is pared down to the haves and have-nots. The have-nots feel that they only have one way to get something they value, be it another person, personal status or an object  and that is, to take it from the haves. The quickest way to do that is by use of a firearm. Urban gun violence is not glamorous because the media in general, intentional or not, puts a lesser value on life in urban areas.

In suburban or rural areas, senseless gun violence is usually committed by perpetrators who are chronically, mentally impaired or would plead temporary insanity. These perpetrators have a known and observed history of mental illness or at the very least, have exhibited strange or abnormal behavior that has been reported to authorities. There are no red flags, law enforcement hands are tied until a crime is committed and privacy laws prohibit the exposure of medical or mental health issues. That is, until a violent act occurs and all this history goes public. The media swarms all over these events and practically publishes a biography of the victims, their families and their short-circuited potential.

So on one side we have criminals with guns and on the other side we have the mentally impaired with guns. Somewhere in the middle, we have law abiding citizens who quietly and lawfully exercise their 2nd Amendment right of owning a firearm for hunting, sport shooting or personal defense. The firearm stays locked down or in cabinets until they are taken out for hunting or out to the range and in some cases, are positioned for home defense.

A Glock is a Glock is a Glock. What makes a Glock hazardous are the demographics. So why don’t we focus on who’s hand the firearm finds itself, rather than the firearm itself? We already have thousands of laws but they are not enforced or are difficult to enforce. Adding yet another law will do nothing to stem gun violence. In fact, new laws may cloud existing laws and put the burden on law enforcement to interpret and uphold.

Oh and yes, there is sensible gun violence when it occurs as an act of defending one’s life or family or to stop a bad guy from doing harm.

        • DonBahn1

@nazlranger  @the Truth Seeker  @DonBahn1 naziranger, I like your logic, however the Truth Seaker is a Leftwing progressive / liberal taht will not understand a logical response.

        • the Truth Seeker

@Combat Veteran Seabee  @DonBahn1  Get real and wake up, you are shell shocked!

        • the Truth Seeker

@nazranger  @DonBahn1 I have my views, they have been backed up by detail, they are taken from publicly recognized sources and unlike the folks here, I don’t believe that everyone is part of a conspiracy. Yes, I have time, I clip coupons, live off my investments in retirement and am heading again to Florida. Though folks here think of Democrats, liberals, and progressives as extremists, most of the country, would  would differ. But, there has been a radicalization of the right and the polls reflect that reality.

        • Combat Veteran Seabee

@the Truth Seeker  @DonBahn1Truth Seeker, It’s a hell of a lot better to be “Shell Shocked, than an “OBAMABOT!!!!!!!”

        • WilliamVincent

          @the Truth Seeker  @nazranger  @DonBahn1
Look, unless the Truth Seeker is somekind of Speed reader extroidinaire, he wouldn’t never have time to read all the statistics, and articles he quotes..You noticed he says have been backed up by detail, from publically recognized resources.  The amonut of posting he does he would never have had time to read all those articles, unless he has a whole team of researchers. .

        • RichardWest

@WilliamVincent “Truth” Seeker’s research from “publically recognized resources”, consists solely of reading and watching Lib propaganda, with distorted facts, and disinformation.  That mess is put out there to fool the weak minded, so the Libtard factions can gain a stronger base, and eventually create another communist country, where everyone is “equal” and gets their “fair share”.

        • the Truth Seeker

@WilliamVincent  @nazranger  @DonBahn1  I write, I research and do a radio show on public policy. What I have noticed is that you folks produce little evidence of your positions. You decry anything that disagrees with your conspiratorial view of the world as propaganda, lies and you have a large persecution complex. As to the momentum of history, it has moved consistently, in the last 100 years, to the expansion of civil and human rights, the liberalization of all Western societies and the marginalizing of antiquated conservative philosophy. One can easily see that in the Catholic Church, the Northern Protestant orders,  the movements in Judaism, the change in the arts, censorship, and thinking outside of the box, As to you folks, you are a weird coalition of religious fanatics, who hear voices like Joan, gun nuts, conspiratorial theorists, impeachment and birther psychos. I react to email alerts and if the subject piques my interest. This one has run its course and I’ll be on to the next.

        • Don39

@RichardWest  @WilliamVincent You are absolutely correct. No one person, even the leftist fanatic could not assemble and put out all this nonsense together by himself. Even considering that he is regurgitating crap he has written many times. He has all the fervor of a paid hack, paid by the word, and probably has a paid staff or Obama volunteer staff. That would in fact explain a lot of things, like the inconsistencies from post to post , the long delays in certain responses, the changes in demeanor, etc. which I previously chalked up to unfettered extremism. There is still that but more, more than one person even full time could generate in a given time, and something I have yet to put my finger on. But you can bet his illogical campaign is part of a conspiracy to bolster the leftist attempt to destroy the 2nd Amendment in part and the Constitution  in main. Any way you cut it he is an OBAMA sycophant, and 2010 he was bad mouthing the Obama administration on the economy, et cetera! He is anything but what he would b have you believe. And he is dangerous like all the extreme left to this nation!

    • RichardWest

@the Truth Seeker And how many lives will be lost when (not if) the now communist government, decides to attack its own people?  If the populace is unarmed, as you wish it to be, there would be mass slaughter, since nobody would be able to fight back.  One such incident of that nature, would cause far more deaths of unarmed civilians, than all the accidental firearms death added together.  It only takes one time of that to happen, to override your fear of the world shooting themselves in the foot.  If you are so terrified of guns, stay the Hell away from them.  I certainly would not want to be anywhere near you, if you had a gun.  I think you would not only shoot yourself accidentally (multiple times), but would also accidentally slaughter everyone around you.  Then you would reload and repeat the process.  Don’t assume everyone around you, is as incompetent with a firearm as you are.

      • the Truth Seeker

@RichardWest Please seek help, I beg you. Every time you open your mouth, you scare the rest of these weak folks on this site. I am not trying to insult you or bad mouth you, but you sound clinically insane. You have a gun? You are the poster child for why I want background checks. By the way there are two more hostage takings today, with killings and 1000 dead since Newtown. You are worried about commie?. I am worried about an unstable, threatening individual like you. Now I know that thesesites are  constantly monitored by the Feds, so I hope they already know by your IP # where to track you down. I hope and pray they do.

        • RichardWest

@the Truth Seeker I would sincerely hope the Feds do waste their time with me.  They can track me til Hell freezes over.  If I was the least bit frightened by you, them, or any other communist ilk, I would not post here.   You are the one who needs to seek help.  I have never accidentally shot anyone.  I have also never committed any criminal acts with a firearm, as you would like to believe.  I have always received compliments with my restraint in the using of weapons.  Unlike you, I know when it is time to display a weapon, and when it is time to use one.  Because you, as a Libtard, are inept in the use of weapons, you would love to project your incompetence upon someone else, if an effort to create guilt where there is none.  That is the Libtard way of taking over and forcing an unwilling poplulation, to “see things their way”.  As far as the rest of the people on this site, if they are in fact frightened by the things I say, that is their right.  I am simply stating facts.  If the truth frightens anyone, they should take it as a wake up call.  You are the type who will continue to sleep through any wake up call.  It won’t be until your Libtard, government “friends” drag you off unwillingly, that you will see how wrong you were.  You will then pretend you were never a Libtard, in an effort to gain the assistance of any freedom fighters.  You are truely too stupid too see what is coming.  It may happen tomorrow, or it may happen 8 years from now, but the population will eventually wake up and realize they have had enough of Big Brother bullying, and bankrupting social programs.  If you are so big on the communist lifestyle, why are you here?  There are plenty of failing socialist countries you can go to.  Why do you want to change this country to the ways of the dictatorships?  Just move, and leave us alone.  And take Obummer with you.  He is your president, not mine.

        • the Truth Seeker

@RichardWest Wild Wild West, as I said before, you wouldn’t know Karl Marx from Groucho Marx.  Your comparisons are as ludicrous as you are.

        • Don39

@the Truth Seeker  @RichardWest Don’t worry Richard we all know who the loquacious insane one is here, all words and no truth! The leftist idiots have not won yet and it is still OK much to their chagrin to express your opinion here and elsewhere in this nation!

        • Don39

@the Truth Seeker  @RichardWest Got Karl on your brain? I did not find him in his post? But then being what you are I guess it is natural for you to jump to the conclusion that any jab at you is a jab at your mentor/hero!

        • Truth goes 100 mph

@RichardWest  @the Truth Seeker Rich:  Why waste time talking to Seeless and The Seeker?  Biden said they didn’t have time to do background checks and ICE does not have the time to go after all the illegals that are here with expired visas {Millions}  Let them expend their energy and resources going after honest people.  Kind of like a dog chasing his tail.  No time for Benghazi, Fast And Furious and the list goes on.  Those two fools had their pencils and lunch money taken from them when they were in school.  Now they hide behind a computer and taunt people who are not afraid to wear a uniform or fight for a Country and it’s survival.  We will win this battle because all these “intellects” are afraid of those bad guns.  Keep the FAITH and keep your powder dry.    Just laugh at them and do not give them any satisfaction.  Ignore them because, like little children, they will stomp their feet and say how stupid we all are.

        • Obummer

@Truth goes 100 mph  @RichardWest  @the Truth Seeker Totally agree with you “Truth goes 100 mph”, Seeless and Seeker are a huge waste of time.

        • RichardWest

@the Truth Seeker I retract any mention of you needing mental help.  Clearly it would just be a waste of resources for someone who could use it.  Your psychosis runs deep.  I hope your mother takes your computer away from you.

  • 7papa7

I totally agree with sheriff Clarke.  It is my responsibility alone to protect my family.  The police do a good job overall however if someone breaks into my house, the police are NOT there but I probably will be.  The police could NOT get there in time if the perpetrator is intent on doing bodily harm to myself or family.  I, therefore, must take action and shoot him.  I have a carry and conceal license and I hope I never have to use my weapon to kill someone, but if attacked or if my family is attacked I will shoot to kill. I am a combat vet and have had to take lives in the past while serving in Viet Nam and if necessary I will do it again.

    • Walda

@7papa7 Thank you for your service. I totally agree with you as far as protecting your family goes. My husband is disabled and not really able to protect us, so it’s up to me, and believe me, I am totally up for it!

      • RobertAlexander

@Walda  @7papa7 As a woman you also have to consider the wickedness in the world in addition to your obligation to defend your self as many bad men will rape. What will happen to a woman in an all out lawlessness world without law or order?

        • 7papa7

@RobertAlexander  @Walda You apparently didn’t read what I said.  I said it was incumbent on me to protect myself AND my family, that includes my wife and children.  If I were to see a stranger in trouble from a dirt bag I would most definitely intervene to protect them.

      • 7papa7

@Walda The primary responsibility of course falls on the man but situations arise like yours where that responsibility unfortunately falls on you.  The important thing is that male or female training is critical.  It is important to know in advance of a threat what you will do.  Rehearse it so it becomes an automatic reaction.  A delay could cost you your life.

        • They walk among us

@7papa7  @Walda I am a female senior citizen and am licensed to carry.  I shoot rifles & hand guns.  Am good w/ skeet shooting.  I will do whatever it takes to protect my family, also anyone else that needs to be protected.  I would not wait for the police or any male in my family to protect me.   I cannot figure why there are women that will not take classes & buy themselves guns to protect themselves & loved ones.   Women in the pioneer days all knew how to shoot & protect.   Its a shame thats all been lost.

        • 7papa7

@They walk among us  @Walda That is wonderful.  My wife knows how to shoot as do my female daughters.  That does not mean that the primary responsibility for their safety does not fall on me.

  • kassaween

Kudos to Sheriff Clarke!  Being from the Milwaukee area, I certainly understand his reasoning!  It is about time that a public official says it exactly how it is.

Now they are working on neutering Sheriffs because ??? could it be because SO MANY of them are OPPOSED to No_Bama and his gun grab….

They want to slip this under the radar if possible….

  • longshorts3

Sheriff David Clarke is right! When seconds count, law enforcement are just minutes away. Call 911, but be ready to defend yourself because the Supreme Court has ruled some years ago that police have no real responsibility to protect you immediately, just try to prosecute the attacker after the fact. Jeri Bonavia is WRONG, barbarians ARE at the door, and in most cases the cops can’t get there in time to protect you (not for a lack of trying). The County Sheriff is obligated by law to follow the Constitution, not local, city, state, or federal officials. Most Sheriffs have already stated that they will not support any new gun laws that end up in forced registration, or confiscation, and I applaud them! I’m glad someone in our law enforcement is finally standing up to the gun grabbers. I can not, and will not follow any Executive Order that is clearly Unconstitutional.

    • RobertAlexander

@longshorts3 The average response time is between 9-11 minutes depending on your location and even longer…

The average response time of 2012 was 9.1 minutes, according to a last report I saw.

  • Hl McCloud

This is probably the best informative piece of advise for self defense that anyone could ask for, It dosen’t
cost that much in money to take a qualified class of instruction, any police officer would give you all the
necessary information to get started in a reputable class. And sometimes even the police have a class
of their own to offer the public, which I took myself even though I was quite familiar with fire arm’s I still
learned a few things which I didn,t know, Believe me when I say  it’s for the benifit for you and of your
family to take full atvantage of this offer and prepare yourself for the worst possible  future events which
could and respectfully may happen in the near future, I plan on being prepared and ready and I hope
    that you folks are too.

  • Combat Veteran Seabee

The average response time for a 911 call is 23 minutes. The response time of my .45 cal ACP is 950fps. Who is getting there first?

And now we have even more ominous signs of what is to come. Added to the fraud president , we now have a Senate confirmed traitor as the regimes Secretary of State! There is no shame in politics or among politicians.

    • the Truth Seeker

@Don39 Donald Duck : Here’s one you can find- you are a clown and I am off to other sites. By the way, you Bozo, nothing I have said is a  lie and I defy you to cite any inaccuracies. But, as your asinine and sophomoric replies indicate, you can’t,

  • the Truth Seeker

    speaking of FOX Noise:
Well let’s look at the latest prime time Network and Cable viewership:
    NBC 9.163 million ABC 8.544 ” CBS 7,214 ” FNC 1,976 ” MSNBC 1,054 ” CNN 571 K HLN 367 K CNBC 228 K FBN 48K
    Total 29.138 million.

So out of the total prime time viewership, FOX Noise holds 6.8% of the audience. So who the heck cares what their clowns spout! Most people are moderate and when you add the moderates on the center right and the center left with MSNBC and CNN, you realize how few people view or trust FOX!

    • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker CABLE NEWS moron.  Prime time is overtaken by the liberal weenies and they only report on which reality show is getting ratings, they’re content is totally void of all real news.  Besides, they give Channel 2, 4, 5, 7 etc to all the minorities in the inner cities for free, you have to pay for Cable News.  When you pay for something, it has value when it’s given away for free it has exactly just that much value, zero.  And if when compared to prime time for truthfulness, they come out on top of all the major networks as well.  I know this gets under your lefty’s skin, enjoy the truth.

      • the Truth Seeker

@Obummer  Sorry, clown, as you talk the minorities you despise and fear will be soon be the majority. But, unlike a cretin like you, who believes in divide and conquer, most of us believe that we are all Americans. The evening news on the networks is pretty balanced and blind folks like you will never understand that reality.

        • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker Sure, moron, you just keep believing that spoon feed crap from your friends at CNN, MSNBC, you and the other three morons watching them can circle jerk each other. The only people who are dividing Americans are Oblamo and you progressive lefties.  You love to play the race and income cards all the while you destroy minorities and the less fortunate’s ability to pull themselves up.  News flash, illegal aliens are not Americans, moron, and when have I ever stated that I didn’t believe that minorities are not Americans, I’m simply pointing out that they are mostly Democrat Americans, BIG difference from a Republican American in the thought process and responsibility.  You have the same lame problem as most progressive libs of straying off subject because you have no real substantive argument for the issue at hand, it’s the same regurgitated tactic from all you lefties.  The majority of America is right of center and the country will be screaming for a conservative at the end of this Oblamo’s disastrous 2nd term.

        • Don39

@Obummer  @the Truth Seeker You are right, but why continue to feed the useless monkey that is nothing but a pain in the butt?

    • kid721952

      @the Truth Seeker
It’s sad you have to add ALL THOSE CHANNELS TOGETHER just to compare it to FoxNews, its to bad they don’t have facts to go along with their ficticious stories kind of like the unemployment number 7.8 of course we all know its closer to 24.0 if you add all the people who have quit looking for work because obumer has no clue how to create a job except by illegal recess appointments or executive orders like a DICTATOR in those countries where everybody is equal in poverty and dictators light their cigars with 100 dollar bills or live in lavish palaces or kill people because of a bad nite with one of their wives or maybe mass murder-genocide because of their religion or they didn’t agree with what he was doing to the country,THATS COMING REALITY for America

    • Don39

@the Truth Seeker And the gross lie of course is that the fool thinks you do not know the difference between entertainment TV, it is hard to tell on the networks, and news and opinion TV Fox of course has a commanding lead in news and opinion and does not even try to compete in the entertainment field!. There is a lie in everything this libtard says!

    • Seymour Kleerly

@the Truth Seeker Viewing Fox News does not indicate trust. It’s a 100% Conservative Propaganda show preying on the very busy, tired or extremely gullible. I’ve been glued to this phenomenon for 15 years and am stunded at  how many STILL actually think it’s “Fair and Balanced”.

      • the Truth Seeker

@Seymour Kleerly Fox Noise is just as hypocritical as its owner Rupert Murdock, who could care what issues his acolytes foment. He is no different than the people who sponsor Grover Norquist or the Rove Super PACs. They don’t oppose choice, birth control, separation of church and state, stem cells, background checks for guns, limits on clips, etc. All they care about is roping in the clowns on these sites to vote in Tea Party crazies to support less government by starving it. They want low taxes and deregulation. Does that work  for the average “Joe or Jane” who supports these sites, of course not. It is a method of throwing chum to the sharks.  In a sense it is the 46% voting for the 1%. I live in two very rich counties, in the north and the south. The conservatives I know, are only interested in money.  As to religion, they are tolerant,  as to charity; they give money, as to the commonweal, they support it. But, essentially, they use these extremists, who buy into their daily mythology like;  Area, 51 and other conspiracy theories. These folks here read what they want, they listen to whom they wish, and when others intrude into their narrow little club, like these sites, they lose their lunch. TS!

        • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker  @Seymour Kleerly The two of you are so clearly misguided and a huge waste of time.  Keep diluting yourself with this nonsense, we need people like you and your offspring to clean our toilets and mow our lawns.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Obummer  @the Truth Seeker How does one dilute oneself?

        • Don39

@Seymour Kleerly  @Obummer  @the Truth Seeker You manage to do so every time you put a word on paper, at least here you do. You figure it out, you are so darn smart, really think about it for a couple of years and then get back to us!

        • Don39

@the Truth Seeker  @Seymour Kleerly Nice to see you two communist obamabots conversing . I can only hope that informed minds pay as much attention to you two nuts as I do, none!

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Don39  @the Truth Seeker I often wonder what you clowns would do when faced with ACTUAL Communist ideas and desires.

      • BrianZipper

        @Seymour Kleerly  @the Truth Seeker
Seymour you are right Fox News is not really that conservative. The real truth tellers, the ones that get shut up in a comming,communist/ fascist/dictatorship are the first ones to really be attacked get banned and sent of too the Gulogs. Michael savage is not like the rest of the conservatives. Most fox news hosts just report on the news as it is happening and then give their opinion or twist. Michael Savage was the first talk show host to be attacked by the muslims/communists/fascist and they went after his sponsers. Then he got banned in England where muhhammed is a more common name than George. He has  two doctorate degrees and did not just report on the news.He also is the leading talk show host who put up his own money for every worthy cause. He also took down CAIR in court, a muslim brotherhood front as acknowledged by the FBI. Now you can’t hear him on the radio, and he is basically been banned on many airwaves. He didnt just report on the news but with a master understanding of culture and society he reinterpreted the real meaning of the news and predicted based on trends what would happen next, not as a prophet but based  on logic. Not one so called conservative came to his aid, and if he can be kicked of the air, banned in other countries for telling the truth, then logically they should have supported him but they didnt, as it will be them next. However Fox News is seen all over the world and in between on the commercials they always air about all the negatives of AmeriKa. No I have said for years that Fox News only appeals to brain dead non thinking conservatives.Michael savage is a Jew and the smartest race on earth. Mark Levin and Savage are way more accurate and could blow anyone away on fox news in a debate. I would love too see it. Men like this that want to save our country are villified and demonized just like old school sheriff Arpaio in Arizona.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@BrianZipper  @the Truth Seeker I must say that intelligence is no barometer of fairness. Like Hume  Krauthammer and Limbaugh, Savage and Levin are just variations of Right Wing Propagandists. From warm and fuzzy Hume to the Hitlerian sounding Levin, it’s all the same bile.

  • Don39

@RichardWest  @Seymour Kleerly You are right on about most violent crimes being perpetrated by blacks and minorities and against blacks and minorities, it therefore holds that most violent crimes are perpetrated by liberals against liberals! It also holds that liberals are really those that gun control is aimed at. Got to keep those government dependents down on the doll some way and at the same time keep them from crime against their saviors. It is also true that most property crimes are committed by minorities against minorities, individual and businesses. It is also true that the illegal weapons trafficking is dominated by minorities and that the majority of both sellers and buyers are minority. Likewise the drug trade is conducted in main by minorities, though a significant percentage of the customers are in fact lily white liberals! These are all documented facts from FBI and national crime figures available to anyone, but to which I have a particular knowledge from my experience as a judge and association with law enforcement. Latest data courtesy of my minority sheriff.

  • Don39

@RichardWest @Seymour Kleerly, Hey Kleerly is right at least partially , hedge fund operators and subscribers like the Clintons, Obama, and all those other rich Obama and damnocrat supporters do ‘steal’ more in a day than the poor steal from each other in a month! There are two minor distinctions, they mostly steal from each other and what they do is totally legal activity even for leftist supporters!

  • the Truth Seeker

What Really Didn’t Happen Yesterday in Washington!

More propaganda from the far left! Wayne LaPierre the underpaid, spokesperson for the 2nd Amendment, which protects America and all of our freedoms, spoke in front of Congress yesterday. LaPierre, whose image is now being carved on Mount Rushmore, where the one of Theodore Roosevelt’s has been removed, articulated to most profound testimony in front of Congress since Daniel Webster’s 1830 famous 2nd reply to Senator Robert Hayne, “liberty and union, now and forever, one and inseparable.”

Of course, LaPierre and his patriotic minions, is not worried about, “liberty and union.” He is, of course, more concerned with hundreds of millions of members of the NRA, who are ready to secede from this corrupt Union if they try to take any gun from any person. The NRA has promised to arm grammar school kids with Junior G-Men, mini pistols so if any intruder comes into their class, he’ll be met with a hail of lead.

But, the highlight of the whole event was his profound testimony that more background checks won’t affect criminals, miscreants, lunatics and members of the radical left. They just won’t allow themselves to be checked! Take that you left-wing doves, who wish to eviscerate the Constitution!

Of course, one deluded Senator confronted the Great LaPierre, with the specious claim, that if the “no-good-nicks” won’t submit to background checks, they won’t get guns! How dare this left-wing troll confront LaPierre with leftist, pro-Marxist gibberish! We all saw through the left’s attempts to disarm America. We know that once they take away our AK-47s, they’ll get our cars, because last year 32,000 Americans were killed on the road.

Just look at the slippery slope which LaPierre has so creatively exposed. After the Civil War, members of the GAR (Grand Army of America) were allowed to take home cannons, howitzers and Gatling guns. But look what happened to them. First, these weapons were confiscated; then the leftist New Dealers took our Thompson .50 caliber machine guns and now these Marxists have left us vulnerable to government tyranny. Remember that our patron saint, Thomas Jefferson said, “And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.” Let’s send that message to our “RULERS” with a few volleys aimed at Congress.

What’s next according to Sir LaPierre? He feels if we are disarmed from our big magazine Street Sweepers, the next shoe to drop will be confiscation of our WeeGee and DeeGee water pistols. Can you imagine a small child in the bath tub left with only his ducky-wucky and not being able to fire his water pistol? A whole generation of Americans will be lost. They will miss their earliest opportunity for marksmanship. We will be way behind the commie countries in training. Just remember the missile gap of the 1950’s. Every North Korean can shoot a gun. Isn’t that proof enough that every America should have an assault rifle. Isn’t that so clear?

    • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker  You have way too much time on your hands and enjoy your mental masturbation way too much, I think you need serious mental evaluation before you should be allowed to walk out in public.   You may think that your blathering sounds smart but no one here cares to listen to lefty gibberish.  So I’m going to do everyone a favor and for the sake of all our wasted time and admit that you are correct, we are all evil gun owners.  Now that you have that info and confession, can you please go back to the Huffington Post with the other turds ?

      • the Truth Seeker

        @Obummer Eat it, brainless!

        • Obummer

@the Truth Seeker Very intelligent, spoken like a real liberal progressive all out of myths to propagate.  Now go cling to your hopes and dreams of change, moron.

    • Don39

@the Truth Seeker You and your paid staff should be fired! You do a very lousy job of staying on subject and spouting relative lies. Your employer is bound to catch on sooner or later to your phony scam!

  • Chris Lee

It’s amazing when somebody like this Clark guy says one thing right, which in reality he’s merely stating the obvious, all of a sudden he’s some kind of hero.   This Clark guy is not the defender of liberty he’s now made out to be because this one statement, which he stated part of the reason was lack of deputies due to layoffs.

I know both Milwaukee and its county extremely well.    His track record on rights and liberties isn’t exactly stellar. He’s as bad as Barrett and the rest of those clowns (and clown – ettes).   Don’t be fooled.  He’s no “good guy”.

Where were any of these Sheriffs that are now making statements in favor of people being armed when all the rest of your freedoms and liberties were being taken from you ???

Remember, these are the same ones that are in charge of enforcing all those draconian laws you’re now oppressed by as well as those who pull you over and demand “your papers please” (a.k.a. driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance).

Turn back to The King of kings and His Laws Statutes and Judgments.   It’s a much better deal than the one you now have.  Matthew 11: 28 – 30.

  • WesleyFikes

You guys are all a waste of time. I thought that I might learn a thing or two scrolling through this debate. Boy, was I wrong. All I got from this was @the Truth Seeker spewing political garbage, and everyone else just belittling and misinterpreting everything being said. Can none of you think with your own brains. Who cares if this law says this, or this court ruling said this. They are are things written by man, and agreed on, by man. We the people put these people in charge, and we the people get to live with the decisions made. Quit acting like we live in China or Russia. I’m not saying America is perfect, but if you don’t think so…there is no law that says that you have to live here. So quit all your bitching and get out.

Nothing is going to get solved by you idiots sitting here calling each other names. Random facts, fictitious propaganda, who can tell me what is fact and what is fiction? Why don’t you guys quit crying, and get up and do something. All of you think you are so big, chanting stuff you have heard from other people, or on your FB page, but you are all cowards if you cannot stand up for what you believe in. Start a movement, write a senator, make a webpage. Don’t ramble off things that no one cares about, but make yourself heard. Can we not have a civil debate, without one person getting mad. You will all be a little happier in life once you realize that, just because someone doesn’t believe the same things as you, doesn’t mean they are any less of a human being.

You guys, guns aren’t so bad, but I was in the Infantry and was trained to use them. I can’t say life without guns would be bad, but is that really possible? I doubt it.

    • Don39

@WesleyFikes  @the Truth Seeker Maybe if myou knew something about the Constituion and what is going on in this country we could have you join a debate. if you have nothing contributory to say and find debate distasteful I suspect you are in the wrong place. If you ever develop some passion for your country , come back, otherwise just stay out of the way. By the way the majority of us here on the conservative right patriot side veterans as are those former democrats that agree with us at least on this issue. Thanks for your service and sorry that you did no0t have the fire to continue it. I do believe you took an oath that has no expiration date.

      • the Truth Seeker

@Don39  @WesleyFikes At least I know more about the Constitution than you know about spelling and grammar. How can a functional illiterate like yourself, with not a wit of schooling, no less education, have an intelligent comment on anything above prairie dogs and road pancakes. Isn’t the Internet a great place when jerks like you can have a forum? And, what about America? What are your great and unique contributions to our success. All you do is rail against the majority of the country, threaten insurrection, wave the bloody red flag, make baseless, unfounded accusations and slander any one who spoils your inane party with commie slurs. You are more like the big lie commies and Nazis than the likes of me.  Cite some concrete facts and lay off the conspiracy tripe.

  • BrianZipper

I am a white guy and I have to tell you i dont care about skin color. This Sheriff is the epitomey of a true man.i love him. He exhibits common sense, patriotism and supports the constitution. It’s nice to know a brother in arms. A man in arms against your enemy and encouring you to protect yourself your family and loved ones is a man worth listening too. The other half of the country is a bunch of brainwashed idiots sucking in the Hallucinagens from their suicidal Messsiah!

    • SandyTrank

@BrianZipper Every person who has ever lived will at death face the Lord Jesus Christ and you either face Him as your Saviour or as Judge, the choice is yours. If the other side of the country as you put, I wouldn’t be so foolish but I will this way:  have their trust in the Lord, I count myself to be in GOOD COMPANY!

  • BrianZipper

truthseeker needs to pull his head out of his liberal ass, ever heard of the constitution you  butthole!

    • Don39

@BrianZipper Excuse me, it is a pet peeve, but you mean Constitution I believe. Also when responding to someone else you might avail yourself of the reply button and address list so we know who you are addressing.

Your welcome for the laugh.I am accepting donations can you spare any brain cells for the narcissist Truth Seeker. I once knew a woman who had a business called God Sent Improvements. She was a real B***ch so when I see people with names like that well that kinda speaks for itself. At least I see your a fellow sophistacant and can appreciate a good sense of humor. Just be glad I guess all puppies are different. By the way how much money do you make Im looking for a woman who will pay me to make her laugh?

y brain cells are well-used but I’m extremely picky about to whom I would dMonate any if I could spare them.  Sorry, but Truthseeker does not make the grade.  You are surely out of luck on being paid to make me laugh since I am broke, but good look in your search.

        • BrianZipper

          @Florida Girl
How can one so smart and picky be broke, thats sort of an oximoron. Evidently your smart enough to discern your broke. You know if we lose the 2nd ammendment you maybe prone to lose the fourth unreasonable search and seizure, that could be fun, however I will have to beat Truth  Seeker to it as he is part of the goon pervert  squad and probably a dirty old man.

        • BrianZipper

          @Florida Girl
I think truth seeker said in  his post he was headed your way to Florida, creepy sorta like a rocky horror picture show.

The multitude of rulings by judges on obamas unconstitutionality is what I am basing my facts on not my opinion, ever read the news nutjob!?

  • Bill Weston

I watched the Piers Morgan segment on “The Tonight Show” last night and I realized that gun ownership is a symbol of a deeper issue in our country. As an englishman, Morgan’s viewpoint makes a little sense. No, I’m not in agreement with him, but I respect his concern for the mindless violence in our country. Morgan grew up in a society still subject to “noblese oblige”, an aristocracy that essentially runs, or at least leads, the country. That dynamic doesn’t exist in America. Instead, “We, the people….” are collectively the soveriegns, not an elite few. That right comes with corresponding responsibility. Hence our “right to keep and bear arms” which accompanies our rights to self-determination. That is the deeper issue and Morgan evidently fails to understand it because of his cultural training. A clip was then shown after a short discussion about the petition to extradite Piers Morgan because of his views. Morgan, to his credit, invited the man from Texas (I don’t recall his name at the moment; sorry) to appear on his show. I was embarrassed watching the man’s tirade though I fully understand his anger. That frustration and anger actually aids and abets those seeking to destroy our liberty. Angry and desperate people say and do desperate things and usually it is a mistake thus giving an enemy the advantage. Therefore, I believe much of the violence we experience is a result of the anger, even self-righteous anger, in our land is contributing to the demise of our liberty. Christ Jesus likely had more confrontations with the saducees, pharisees, and scribes, the literate and spiritual leaders at the time, than anyone else. He spoke the truth calmly and clearly, but didn’t accept statements contrary to the truth of God. In other words, He spoke the truth and allowed the opposition to “crash and burn” on it. Those of us that believe might consider imitating Him.

  • grumpyoldconservative

Bill, you make a very good point. It is important that we try to refrain from “name calling” and concentrate on the issue. It would be very wise for people to do research on others contrary views before responding; I KNOW how hard that is sometimes. The Sheriff that made these statements is a true believer in your Second Amendment rights. He is a realist when it comes to protecting yourself from armed intruders. He is allowed to have flaws; just like the rest of us. It amazes me that some people don’t understand that the Second Amendment is the only backbone that allows ALL of the other(i.e. freedom of speech; First Amendment) freedoms that we are blessed with, to stand.

  • romojo

To Richard West:  Sorry, got the colors of the states mixed up–and my message got mixed up also.  Am farthest thing from a liberal and believe in the Second Amendment rights of US Citizens.  Gun controls laws are ineffective because they are focused on law-abiding citizens.  The criminals don’t care what laws are out there–they won’t obey them and they get their guns elsewhere anyway.  I think the government should leave well enough alone and just enforce the laws that are already on the books.

    • RichardWest

@romojo You are in the right.  That comment I made was not directed at you.  It was for Truth Seeker.  I left your name listed, so you could keep a copy of what I sent to that Libtard moron.

      • Seymour Kleerly

@RichardWest  @romojo You sound very angry. Want to share it with us?

        • RichardWest

@Seymour Kleerly Talking to you, has the unfortunate appearance of me talking to an inanimate object.  The end result is nearly the same. You, just as a wall, pencil, tree, bed, etc, have no learning capability.  So, I’m wasting my time with you.  You’re either working for Odumber, your his gay lover, or you have suffered a 20 minute cerebral anoxia.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@RichardWest I’m not sure if you’re correct in saying that a tree has no learning capacity.

        • RichardWest

@Seymour Kleerly A tree may evolve, but they do not learn.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@RichardWest Did you just agree with the concept of EVOLUTION?

        • RichardWest

@Seymour Kleerly Things do evolve.  That is a proven fact.  How their beginnings came about is not a known, or proven fact.  Any statement I make about the initial beginnings, would simply be construed as a personal opinion.

        • Don39

@Seymour Kleerly  I certainly believe in the concept of evolution to the extent that I am confident it will catch up with your kind eventually but not soon enough!@Seymour Kleerly

        • Seymour Kleerly

@RichardWest I agree. But I hope you can rule out certain theories that we can prove are impossible. Like the METAPHORS in Genisis.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@Don39 Unfortuneately it is those that can’t adapt to reality that become extinct. Like today’s Republican Party.

        • RichardWest

@Seymour Kleerly All hostilities aside, I have my doubts about the creation theory.  That doesn’t mean I agree with Liberal ideologies.  That would be the furthest thing from the truth. I am still a firm believer in individual rights, and property rights.  I also believe most social programs are a complete waste of time, and are dragging this country way down.  It lures people from poor countries here.  Then they leach off the system, and bring their violent ways here.  Look what they have done to their own countries.  They have no intention of correcting their ways once they get here.  If they did, they would just fix their own country, first.  I know that was straying from your original question, but I just wanted to make it clear, I am not, nor will not ever go the failing route of socialism.  I would sooner die, and am not afraid to make  that sacrifice when the time comes.  Whether there is a Heaven, or I just become worm food, has no bearings on the way I choose to live.  I personally don’t read the Bible, if you need to know.  Doesn’t mean I am not aware of its contents, as I have read it complpetely through, several times.  Granted there are many contradictions in it.  But, it was also written during different time periods, and by many different people.  I wasn’t there when it was written, and for all I know, some of the contributors might have been intoxicated.  I am not saying that is the case.  I’m just saying none of us were there, so who knows what was going on back then.

        • Seymour Kleerly

@RichardWest We don’t know everything that was going on in Bibical times but we do know that these people were extremely un-scientific and still quite primitive. They wrote in hyperbolic ways to enunciate their  strongly held beliefs. We also know now for sure from learning science that their fantastic Metaphors were 100% impossible.

    • RichardWest

@romojo I was already aware that you were on the correct side.

  • BrianZipper

I believe all Americans should also boycott buying into Obamacare. Just did my taxes this year.On the tax form it basically states you can’t have your taxes done next year if you do not buy into Obama care or have your own healthcare by 2014. The government will fine you on your taxes in 2014 retroactively if you dont buy (HIS) product in 2013. If you do not pay the fine, you are now a criminal and will be served with a warrant more than likely. The tax form states that by 2015 the fine will be 325 dollars ,going off memory here if you didnt suck his ass in 2014. I say no one buy anything from men that created an orchestrated bankruptcey of the nation. They cant throw us all into jail. With more and more regulations and a thousands of more laws on the book,s you can be a criminal now in Amerika for really just about anything. Hate speech, your thoughts, piracy if someone thought of it before youLOL. The inmates are in charge of mental health and the healthcare system how appro–po LOL. This healthcare thing is treason and unfair to the poor. How can a person with out a job afford $62.00 a month for Barack Hussein Sotaro Care. Wonder if it comes with free be-headings? Thats like forcing a person who cant drive, never will drive, to buy government car insurance. This is out an out theft ! so the traitors and spenders can spend us into oblivion. However under this care you may also get a mandatory RFID chip that you and your children are tracked with and eventually cannot buy or sell anything without it. Man this is really sensitive, Hussein care will cut your throat, tax you, Chip you like an animal and if you dont pay the mob boss he sends his hit men to fine you, then ultimately erase your ability too exist. This sounds like the best population control measure ever LOL and it’s all so liberal and sensitive. If the messiah tells me too I will, I will, to the 2nd Heil Hitler Junior!

    • the Truth Seeker

@BrianZipper  The country wants you to have coverage so you and millions of others, stop using the emergency rooms of hospitals. You want to slow health care costs and inflation, buy coverage. As to $62 per month, that’s about10 packs of cigarettes per month. Maybe you can cut down on Burger King and beer and help your own health. What happened to your savings? What about your unemployment insurance? Why are you down and out? The Democrats? Hardly! Call Bush 43 and tell him your story!

      • BrianZipper

        @the Truth Seeker
         thats a really ignorant response

        • Don39

@BrianZipper  @the Truth Seeker As I posted earlier from government and independent sources a  chart on the economy , Jan 2009 when Obama took office to Jan 2013 when he took office the second time; Health Insurance Premiums, avg, $13425 vs $15745, a 17% increase.  The full impact of Obamacare premiums has not  kicked in and the program barely begun. And it is your money and it is none of the communist’s business how you spend it, though if you did spend it on cigarettes with all that is now known it would not be very smart.Never the less it is none of the governments nor the communists business what you do with your money. Just do not let the socialist regime tell you what to do with it, like supporting murder and genocide, paying the cost of having sex for tramps, and paying for the slackers they refuse to create jobs for and force to go to work, and oh yes I forgot paying those who benefit from their ignoring of immigration and other laws at your expense!

        • the Truth Seeker

@BrianZipper I don’t think so in the least. It is a response to your juvenile approach to health care, the lack of coverage for 50+ million Americans, the young adults from 22 through 26 that did not have coverage, the reality that few companies offer health care cafeteria plans, and the fact that private insurers have been raising coverage rates at triple the rate of inflation. There are no “socialistic” controls on them and they are one of the principle reasons why health care costs continue escalate. Seems to me that your mindless, hateful rant had zero currency with regards to the real world, dominated by the free market, who’s bottom line is profits. That’s the American way, but problems for you and yours is the end game.

    • braveheart 1

      @BrianZipper
I’ve got a great idea. Let’s ALL just quit paying taxes. You know obamas gonna waste it anyway by arming his Muslim buddies, or bailing out his campaign contributors on Wall Street. He and his cohorts are a bunch of CORRUPT S.O.B’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • BrianZipper

@braveheart 1See men like us can’t be influenced by the spineless femized men and traitors like Truth Seeker and his Comrads, retarded propaganda. However people like Braveheart and I, know the truth but the blind will stay blind and die blind that gives me great joy. Feel sorry for people like Truth seeker as half their consciosness has been cut in half and their is no way they could be saved lest a miracle be performed, maybe that fuels the damneds rage? Wonder if truthseeker believes in fate genetics or free will or maybe he has a disorder he hasnt shared with us yet besides the obvious ones.

      • Don39

@braveheart 1  @BrianZipper You can be prosecuted for not paying taxes,. but you can not legitimately be convicted if you abstain because you refuse to have your taxes pay for things you morally oppose!

  • braveheart 1

This Imposter has violated our Constitution more times than I could count, yet our Supreme Court lets this UNCONSTITUTIONAL law stand!! Our courts, politicians and State Run Media has gone mad in this country!!!!!

    • the Truth Seeker

@braveheart 1 Let’s see you cite a few! Start with one! I’d love to see this damning evidence? Make sure you are not throwing around more BS!

      • braveheart 1

        @the Truth Seeker
For starters, he needs to prove he is a U.S. citizen, because we all know he is not a “natural born” citizen even by his own admission of (dual citizenship). He violated the Hatch Act, he accepted foreign campaign money, he sent troops to Libya without Congress approval which is clearly a violation of our Constitution.

Sorry, I know you only wanted me to cite one but there are so many by this wannabe DICTATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Don39

@braveheart 1  @the Truth Seeker Why don’t we start with signing off on violation of the First, Forth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments. Most recent the court has held illegal his farciful attempt to use a false recess to appoint members of the Labor Relations Board. There is an older list of over ninty violations available for any who really care, I have posted them in various places courtesy of varios sources such as WND. Is it not ironic that the communist who spouts off pages of inane crap with not one fact to support his inane arguments request proof on one of the most obvious things?

        • braveheart 1

          @Don39  @the Truth Seeker
Great point Don,I can see you’ve done your homework. That’s the difference between a true American Patriot and a far left liberal commie.Patriots can always back up their feelings with facts. Liberals can’t!!!!!!

I believe truthseeker is a paid troll. Nobody could be that gulible to believe obama is doing a good job!!!!!!

        • the Truth Seeker

@Don39  @braveheart 1  Let us see: First Amendment- where was anyone’s speech and or religion violated? You had better cite that claim. The 4th Search and Seizure- where, when and how. What did he take? The TARP bill was passed by Congress – let AIG sue! The 5th Amendment over self incrimination and the 6th -regarding  a speedy trial by one’s peers. Are you for real? There is no one, who isn’t certifiable, that would indict the president on those specious issues. As I recall Bush 43 fired all of the US Attorneys at once. How trite can you get, oh, let me count the ways.  As to recess appointments, let the Courts decide. I am sure that is not a high crime or misdemeanor. What happens if none of his appointments are approved, a government shut down? Grow up, you are an embarrassment.

        • Don39

@the Truth Seeker  @braveheart 1 You are so stupid and such an embarrassment that even other leftist will not support you! Firing appointees of the previous administration especially when violating your policy is a long standing presidential choice and has nothing to do with Constitutional violations. Presidential appointees serve at the pleasure of the serving president. Just like you to come up with some such crap pulled out of your behind. I really am surprised because that means you had to remove your head first at least temporarily! That’s the best you can do and you call me an embarrassment!

        • braveheart 1

          @the Truth Seeker
You and your worthless leader are both a national embarassment. You can defend this worthless TRAITOR and USURPER all you want, but I won’t. As for you. You are nothing more than a far left liberal hypocrite!!!!!

  • BrianZipper

Dear Don, Donor or Truth Seeker lol, At least my eating etiquette is better than yours! I do not prefer prairie dogs with my pancakes for breakfast, while constipating your existential, narcissistic, nehilistic thought processes which somehow implies a continuous action or change. How can this be when you believe that we evolved from two big rocks colliding out of nothing and by chance hit each other and here we are. Yes you are right if your cousin is a rock! Your over abundance of enlightning thought is like the big bang all over again! You are a GOD! THAT IS IF 2 rocks qualify as such! constipate on that Don???????

    • Don39

@BrianZipper Hey you ignorant clod, there is much difference between me and and the communist you choose to link me with as there is between black and white! And by the way chump we do not eat prairie dog where I come from. But we do recognize an idiot when we see one! For your edification, since you are to stupid to check profiles, I am a Christian, educated with double majors, world traveled (paid) engineer, comsystems designer, decorated soldier, judge, and proud g’parent of a g’daughter just accepted to a prestigious school for pre-law .I do not know it all, or pretend to  because I learn everyday and just when one thinks they know it all along comes something like you.

The least you could do before you attack someone is to check their profile. Of Course one would have to be able to click on their mouse at the right place. Gee I see you have been around long enough to accumulate seven post, and no they are all wimpy crap. Oh well, maybe you will think and do better in the future./ At least be able to tell the players, the leftist from the conservatives. What you are neither? Well at least the rest of us here have the guts to take a stand! PS: that little number beside the name is an indicator of your popularity here, and you got all yours from the few idiot leftist on the site!

      • the Truth Seeker

@Don39  @BrianZipper  You mean an ignorant clod like you has a 337, wow! Reminds me of the essayist, HL Mencken, who stated, long ago (and it is still applies to day) , “No one went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.” You are a poster child for that public. You paint everyone who differs with your claptrap, as a commie. You are exactly what is wrong with America. But, you and your ilk are aging out, and you will be the first to use your Medicare card and be grateful for Medicaid.

        • Don39

@the Truth Seeker  @BrianZipper You are to ignorant to know when you are being addressed! Typical big mouthed obama troll. By the way a$$hole I have at least two like minded generations behind me. You are a sociocommunist based on your writings and your own proof. Maybe you are also a coward, to much of a coward to admit what you really and obviously are. Find someone on your on level to attack and converse with. And speak when you are spoken to.

        • the Truth Seeker

@Don39  @BrianZipper I am sure you know what, eat it, means! That is my response to you clod!

  • BrianZipper

    Well said braveheart!

  • Frank Conover

I do not have to have anyone telling me how to protect myself and my family. I know what has to be done if someone forces there way into my home or my vehicle and threatens to do harm to me or my family. Enough said.

  • Don39

And now courtesy of the nitwits from the left posting here you learn that trees EVOLVE! Who ever knew? Foreign communist idiot does try to sound intelligent, huh?

  • braveheart 1

Great call Sheriff Clarke. Keep in mind, you will have plenty of backup cause you will most likely have a 10,000 man posse of TRUE PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!

  • BrianZipper

Lets not forget the majority of traitors in this country are attorney’s and activist judges who have no regard for the Will of the people or their oaths in office. I should know my own father was a lawyer a narcissist and an aspring politician. Believe me he and many like him are as narrowminded and in such a state of denial it is pointless. I predicted his own fate based on his behavior and his life has crumbled and my own mother left him as I predicted. He maybe rich but he will die poor and lonely in spirit. I can tell most sickophant kids that will become lawyers. Lawyers are not all bad. Many however have one trait that makes them attorneys to begin with and that is that they have the inherent narcisistic urge to RATIONALIZE  anything they do as being okay and manipulators for their own ends. Many of these types have no spiritual awareness at all and therefore cannot lead anyone anywhere or do any good other than what they percieve to be good for themselves. So who did you vote for in this past election Don.

    • Don39

@BrianZipper Still have not learned to use the reply button I see. If you posted under my comment you would have to acknowledge it and quit dodging the issue. Also if you paid attention or were not hatched yesterday you would know who I voted for. Any fool that has read any of my posting sites knows I voted for Romney and despise anyone who did not for at least one of several reasons even though he would not have been my first choice!  By the way if you are saying I am a lawyer , you are whistling in the dark. I was a judge, I studied law, I never practiced law.And I could have practiced law and it would not make me stupid. Lawyers that aspire to politics are not always even passable lawyers, but not all people with bonafied law degrees are fools either. You have a way of generalizing that is typical of limited intelligence. So is ignoring your mistakes and beating around the bush.. By the way have you noticed you are all of a sudden responding for Seymore Clearly? We did. Is that why you do not use the reply button? You think you are fooling anyone?

    • the Truth Seeker

@BrianZipper Judges have no idea of the will of the people? Which people? You and your group. Most local judges are elected and others are appointed and if the public is not satisfied with the appointment the Mayor or Governor stands for re-election. How many judges were impeached? You have your own views, and most are so far out that almost no one would support such claptrap.  Self love is a great feature, why do you hate yourself? Are you an under achiever?

  • BrianZipper

Dont know about the trees evolving Braveheart but if its a nut tree it does drop nuts and reproduces more nuts and your right they dont evolve unless they figure out how to create a hybrid nut. I guess a nut is a nut. Although THEY, he he may disagree on that as well..

  • BrianZipper

Actally a tree is symbolic and of learning a lesson if anyone wants the secret answer. I actually do know the answer to that, just ask and I will tell you of the ancient axiom that has been lost to most men of clay.

  • BrianZipper

hey truth seeker would you do me a favor and just type one sentence for fun that says” I have smelly balls” or just a one sentence childish comment I double dare yah!
